Authors note:

I am only 13 and this is my first fanfic. Please have mercy. Constructive critisism is ok but please no flames.

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I do not own Percy Jackson; all rights go to the

almighty Rick Riordan.

Percy pov:

I woke up at exactly 9:06 on a Tuesday and immediately knew something was off. As

far as I knew, no monsters were trying to eat my face off, I had no overdue Spanish tests,

and no gods were trying to turn me and my

friends into goats. And then it hit me, my friends, more specifically my friend

(girlfriend actually). Annabeth. There was no way I could have slept until 9:06 in the

morning, I'm lucky to make it to 7:00 witho Annabeth practically knocking down

my door. That's what you get when your best friend is an early bird, actually, more

like a crack-of-dawn bird. I jumped out of bed, threw on some clothes, grabbed

Riptide, and made a beeline for the Athena cabin. I burst inside and was engulfed

in floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, messy bunk beds, and blueprints scattered over

tables. I scanned the room, and as far as I could tell, it was empty. "Annabeth?" I

asked, but there was no reply. I turned toward the door, wondering where else she

could be when I heard a small groan. I spun around and then saw it, in the far

corner of the room a small bundle of blankets lay shaking. I ran closer, and what I

saw scared me more than Kronos himself.

Annabeth Pov: I woke up around 7:30 feeling like crap. I had a splitting headache

and felt like I had lost a fight with a hyperborean giant. I let out a small groan.

Unfortunately, us demigods have really good hearing.

"Annabeth? Are you ok?" asked my half-brother Malcolm. "yeah, I just didn't get

enough sleep last night" I lied. "You look like the pits of Tarturus," Malcolm said "Gee

thanks," I said sarcastically "You sure you're ok? do you want me to

get Percy?" I

must have looked awful if Malcolm was offering to get my boyfriend "No I'm fine, I'll

be out soon" Malcolm eyed me skeptically, but then just shrugged and left the cabin.

"Finally," I thought, rolling over in my bed, a sharp pang in my

stomach telling me that

it would be a very long day.

I awoke 2 hours later to someone

shuffling

around, and based on the heavy,

clumsy footfall, it was Percy. This theory was confirmed when he called out

"Annabeth?" I didn't respond, not because I didn't want Percy here, I was quite glad,

but because I didn't have the energy. My head was pounding worse than ever, I was

freezing cold and burning hot at the same time, and my stomach hurt so bad I could

barely breathe. He was about to leave when l groaned. I heard Percy spin around

and run toward me. " Oh my gods," Percy said.
