Chapter 2: First Fight

Previously:

"Enjoy your last night among the living. Let's just say tomorrow you'll strongly resemble your coffee cup." Zeru said. The remaining cup split in half, spilling coffee all over the table.

Kagome, who had made a small dart of her Reiki in her hand, shot it straight out, cutting the top of the older demon's hand, "Oops." She shrugged as he shot a shocked look at her. "I'm sorry, really, but when I feel demon energy come at me, and it's not friendly, I just react. Reflex. You understand." Zeru smirked, looking her over in appraisal, before he and Rinku left.

Kagome turned to the group, "Bed. We all need our sleep for tomorrow."

Kuwabara took Yusuke to their shared room and the others dispersed. Kagome stared out the window of her own room.

I wonder if Sesshomaru approved of these tournaments.

Deep within the Western Lands of Makai, the Great Inu Lord was having dinner with his family when a toad-like demon rushed in. "Lord Sesshomaru!"

"What is it now, Jakan? Can't you see that we're eating?"

"Yes, Milord, but this is important. Your spies have been informing you of the young Miko back in the present…"

"Yes, you idiot." Inuyasha huffed, "We already knew all of that. We've been fighting with the border patrols about trying to go back over, as is our right with the Golden Door, but that stupid tournament is causing even more unrest than usual."

Momo leaned on his arm, "Which is making it difficult for us to go see our friend. I mean, I know she's been back for almost a year now and I haven't gotten to see her yet. It really sucks."

"Speaking of the tournament…"

"You know we never go to the ridiculous thing." Yuri rolled her eyes, "It's a complete waste of time and demons. We always turn down the invite."

"Well… you may want to go to this one."

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at his long-time servant, "Want to explain?"

Jakan held up the invite with the special notices, "The Special Guest team this year… It has two humans and two demons in it. The fifth player is unknown but the alternate is listed as the human cousin of the team's leader." He cut his eyes from the paper, afraid for his life, "A very special Miko named Kagome." He froze as the entire table exploded. He had a feeling that they were going this year.

1-2-3-4-5

The stadium was packed. Every seat appeared to be filled with all types of demon spectators, roaring for the sight of blood.

The bubbly announcer stood in the center of the arena. Kagome, who stood in the tunnel with the others, couldn't tell if she was some cat or fox, but the crowd loved her. She smiled brightly as she raised the microphone to her lips.

"Welcome, humans and demons alike to the glorious Hanging Neck Island! Let the Dark Tournament begin!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Koto. I'll be your cute host for this year's tournament, and it's gonna be a messy one. For those in the first few rows, raincoats are available. Now here's the introduction you guys have been waiting for: Team Rokuyoukai!" The crowds erupted into cheers as 5 demons entered the arena from the other tunnel. "And now for this year's guest team: Team Urameshi!"

Team Urameshi walked into the arena, Kuwabara carrying Yusuke, getting booed. Kagome had come out proudly in her Miko colors. She had on a black halter top body-suit under a pair of flowing red hanfu pants, split on the sides, tucked into her hanfu calf-high boots. She had a white kosodecut down as a wrap-around top. The sleeves were narrowed down a bit with zippers up to the elbow. The outfit was designed to hide all of her knives and her new sais. Her hair was up and secure with a couple of kanzashi. She stayed in the back of the group, as she was only an alternate, and acted as the team's medic and manager. Yusuke's boss, Koenma, was up in the owner's box.

"This is sure one heck of a greeting for special guests." Kuwabara said, looking around, "I don't think these monsters took their grumpy pills today."

"Agreed, Kuwabara." Kurama said, grimly, "It most certainly isn't pleasant being called a traitor by creatures you've never met."

"Both teams into the ring!" Koto called.

"Is that big idiot still asleep?" Rinku asked, looking in disgust at Yusuke.

"As always, the terms of the fights can be determined by the captains of the two teams." Koto said, "Of course, if the leaders can't agree, then it defaults to one-on-one fights. The winning team having the most victories. Make sense?"

"Uh, not exactly, miss," Kuwabara gritted out, glaring at Yusuke, "Our team leader's still asleep."

"Well then Kuwabara, you'll have to be the one to do it." Kurama nodded.

"Really?" Kuwabara's face lit up.

"I don't wanna go to school, Mom." Yusuke stirred slightly. "Just let Kuwabara be the leader in this stupid tournament. Has anyone seen my green jacket?"

"If that's not a transfer of power, I don't know what is." Kuwabara said happily. "Of course, I really don't like the fact that I was second choice, but oh well. Let's do this 'tournament terms' thing."

"Poor fool." Hiei sighed as Kuwabara marched forward, Yusuke still slung over his shoulder.

Kagome huffed, "He's gonna get us killed, isn't he?"

"High probability."

"Figured."

"I don't care how we play this fight." Zeru sneered. "It's not going to make any difference in the end. Just as long as I have time to enjoy my victory."

Kuwabara stuck his face in Zeru's. "Let's do man-to-man. That's how real men fight after all."

"Sounds like an agreement." Koto told the audience. "We're looking at one-on-one!"

"See you there." Kuwabara scoffed as he turned and started walking away.

Zeru glared at a sleeping Yusuke and eyes flashed red before flaring out his aura. Green Spirit Energy surrounded him before flames erupted out. Kuwabara stopped walking and looked around in alarm.

"Ooh, check this out, ladies and gentlemen. Zeru is emitting flames from his body!" Koto exclaimed, "Don't you love it?"

"His Spirit Energy just shot through the roof." Kuwabara just stared, "Gee, I hope he's not mad because of what I said."

"Your mouth does get you into quite a bit of trouble." Kagome shrugged at the look he sent her.

Kurama glared at their opponents, "Someone of his class with the power of fire… it's interesting. Hiei, we had better be careful with this one."

Zeru sent his flaming aura around Team Urameshi and into the audience, killing some of the spectators.

Kuwabara grabbed Yusuke and started yelling in his face, "Come on Urameshi, we got problems here! Oh, shoot, it's no use."

"He's asleep, dimwit!" Kagome griped, "We already explained why, so just give it a rest already, okay?"

Koto hauled herself up from the ground. "Well people, the flames are out!" She stared at the damage rather nervously. "I know everybody is pretty quiet after that outburst, but remember, that's half the fun! Now send out your fighters, teams!"

Kagome shot a glare in her direction, "You won't think it's fun if we do that to you, now would you, Fur Ball?!" Koto just cleared her throat and back away.

"I'll go first," Rinku bounded forward.

The crowd roared in approval. "Go on, kid. Make those trashy humans suffer!"

Kagome rolled her eyes, "Lovely audience, huh?"

"Yeah, that little brat is definitely mine." Kuwabara said, dropping Yusuke and walking back to the middle of the arena.

Yusuke shouted, "You can take him Kuwabara! I have to go hiking..."

"Hiking?" Kagome looked at Kurama as they hauled Yusuke off the stage, "Where in the world is he at in that head of his?"

Hiei scoffed, "Don't ask me. The thought of even trying to poke into his head scares me. I dread what kind of dreams he envisions." Kagome just snickered as they watched the child demon pout up at his opponent.

"Damn it. Should have known I'd get stuck with the weak one. After all that embarrassment last night, I was hoping you'd run off."

Kagome chuckled, "Cheeky little thing, isn't he? Sure has a mouth on him."

Hiei smirked, "Most demons do at a young age."

"No limits have been set besides one-on-one," Koto announced. "You're free to use any weapons or techniques you want. First person to stay down or out of the ring for ten seconds is the loser. Now begin!"

Kuwabara crouched down slightly and flexed his fists. "I'll let you have the first shot, short stuff. Hit me. If you can."

Kagome sighed, "Idiot."

Rinku stood on his tiptoes and asked, "Why don't we play a little first?" Without warning, the little boy began rocketing around the arena. Turning back flips and somersaults, he moved so fast he seemed to have duplicated himself.

"He's almost as fast as you, Hiei." Kagome smirked, "Almost."

He chuckled, "Not even close."

"What is this, recess?" Kuwabara shouted as Rinku jumped into the air.

"Can you catch me?!" The kid yelled as he went spinning down towards Kuwabara.

Kuwabara stepped to the side and tried to dodge the kick, but a cut appeared on the side of his head and he started bleeding, "Darn it, where'd he go?"

He looked down and saw Rinku squatting down at his feet. The kid jumped up and launched a kick right into his face, "Surprise!" He twisted and landed delicately on his tiptoes, hopping up and down.

Kuwabara wiped the blood from his face. "You know kid, you're starting to make me mad!" Rinku gave a childish laugh and then started to do acrobatics around Kuwabara. He looked like a kid hyped up on energy drinks. "Stop moving!"

"Such great agility." Kurama stared, "His movement will be difficult to follow."

Kagome nodded, "To the untrained eye, maybe. Let's see if Kuwabara can figure it out and make him stop."

Hiei smirked, "Only if the idiot remembers his training."

Rinku started teasing Kuwabara, "Bet you wanna give up now, don't you?"

Kuwabara had a determined look in his eyes. "I might be worried if it weren't for one thing. You're leaving a trail!"

And with that, he landed a solid blow to Rinku's head, knocking his hat off and sending him bouncing across the ring. "You're beaten." Kuwabara declared. "I can sense your Spirit now!"

Yusuke muttered out from the grass he was laying on, "Nice one, lame-o."

Kagome shook her head down at him, "How is he doing that?"

"Spiritual Awareness without even being aware." Kurama chuckled. The crowd started shouting as Rinku struggled to his feet, "It's an interesting thing."

Rinku tried to start running again, but Kuwabara knocked him back down; the crowd shouting down at the kid.

Kurama nodded in approval. "Our lessons have helped him more than we thought, Hiei. It seems Kuwabara is the type of fighter who's true skills can only be measured in the ring."

Hiei barely responded. "Maybe so. But he still doesn't understand these fights. He should drop his honor and strike the boy while he's down." Rinku ran towards Kuwabara, but the teen met him in the middle and punched him in the gut.

"This could be Kuwabara's best chance to finish him." Kurama said urgently.

"He doesn't need to finish him." Kagome said, "His honor won't allow that. He just needs to get him outside the ring."

"I don't want to torture you, just stay down until the ref counts to ten!" Kuwabara yelled and jumped, trying to punch Rinku.

All of the sudden, Rinku disappeared and reappeared behind Kuwabara. "You really shouldn't take so long with those attacks of yours." Kuwabara looked around wildly.

"My turn!" Rinku appeared from behind and kicked Kuwabara in the face. Hard. It looked as if the kid had dislocated his jaw.

To the horror of his teammates, Kuwabara went down, his eyes open and glassy.

"Eww!" Koto shouted as the crowd started cheering. She walked around him to check and started to count, "1...2...3...4...5..."

Rinku started laughing as he turned to his team, "How was that Zeru? I thought it'd be more fun if he thought he was winning for a while. The fans liked it too."

"Should've known. Kuwabara seemed better because the boy was leaving a trail." Hiei said, smirking.

Kagome shook her head, "Don't count him out yet."

Koto continued, "6...7.."

"So what's the point in counting?" Rinku snorted. "I broke the dummy's neck! Say, why don't you count his last heartbeat?" He blew kisses into the cheering audience, basking in the glow of admiration, and froze with a startle look on his face.

Kagome smirked as they watched Kuwabara struggling to his feet. "Told ya."

"Actually, my neck is just fine." The teen stated, looking at the young demon.

Rinku shook his head and looked back at Kuwabara with a smirk,"Say, guess we'll have to fix that, won't we?" Kuwabara managed to get to his feet, holding the side of his head.

"I love it! Just when we thought it was done, the two are facing off again!" Koto yelled, hyping the crowd.

Kuwabara popped his neck as he glared at his opponent, "No more kiddie games, you better start fighting me honest."

"They're both underestimating each other." Kagome said, shaking her head, "Kuwabara, because he's facing a kid, and Rinku, because he's facing a human that he thinks is an idiot."

Hiei smirked, "He is an idiot."

Kurama shook his head, "Regardless, I believe the first one to realize it will win."

"Well at any rate, it's an entertaining fight."

Koto stared at the two competitors, "The tournament's first fight is locked in a stare down! Who will throw the next punch?"

"Honestly I didn't think you'd come back so quick." Kuwabara taunted, "But even with my guard down and you at your best, you still couldn't beat me. Why don't you run home? Let someone else fight."

Kagome sighed, "What's beyond idiocy?"

Hiei smirked, "Imbecile."

"That might be too nice of a word."

"We'll have to find a better one, then."

"Here's a better idea!" Rinku said as he pulled his bag around and opened it. "Since I couldn't beat you playing… I'll start fighting you with my real weapon. Wanna try?" He put his hand in and pulled out yo-yos. Four for each hand. They were yellow with a blue circle and a red star inside of it. He held up his hands and placed a yo-yo between each finger. He held both of his hands straight out and he started to generate red Spirit Energy around him. "The Serpent yo-yo attack!"

"The serpent yo-yo?" Kurama questioned.

Hiei stared, "His Spirit Power is increasing."

"That's because he's doing what I do with my weapons." The boys looked at her in question, "He infused the yo-yos with his Spirit Energy to be able to manipulate them how he sees fit."

Kuwabara scoffed, "Ha, I can feel you're letting out all your stops now! So I will too! Here's a new trick I got." He put both arms out and to the side. "Double Spirit Sword! I think it's time we finished this thing."

Kagome smiled, "Wow. You two really worked him if he could pull that off."

"Let's see if he can actually use them properly." Kurama nodded in agreement at Hiei's comment, thinking back to their training sessions with the exuberant teen.

Rinku jumped up in the air, throwing one of his hands forward, "Short toss!" Sending the four yo-yos straight out.

Kuwabara stared in disgust, "Do ya' really think you can win with stupid kiddie toys?!" He gave a battle cry and swung one of his Spirit Swords at the incoming yo-yos, but the yo-yos suddenly changed course and went around the sword, hitting the teen in four different places on his body.

"Yes, of course! The strings, they're alive!" Kurama said as Kuwabara flew backwards and hit the ground.

"Told you." Kagome frowned, "The boy's Spirit Energy can manipulate those strings to do what he wants. Kuwabara's got a real challenge on his hands. Idiot needs to stop underestimating people and overestimating his ego."

Hiei snorted, "Nicely put."

Koto stared in shock, "Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw that people! Somehow the yo-yos snaked themselves around to avoid Kuwabara's sword!"

Kagome cut her eyes at the announcer, "She's gonna get old, real quick."

Rinku grinned and started to make the yo-yos go up and down. "Yeah! Of course they did. You didn't think I would just throw ordinary toys around, did you?" The kid taunted as he played with his toys.

Kuwabara gritted his teeth and sat up, summoning a Spirit Sword to replace the one he lost. "Darn-it!"

"When I throw the yo-yos, my spirit power goes into them, kinda like they are a part of me… and they bite too!" Rinku explained, as his yo-yos hit the ground and ground a hole into it. He held his arms crossed with the yo-yos in between each finger. "You trying to cut them down with that sword is like trying to grab snakes barehanded." He released the yo-yos and they went flying everywhere. Rinku caught them again and started running towards Kuwabara. "I know a fun new game. I'll throw my yo-yos and you try and stay alive!" Rinku jumped up and threw his yo-yo's out. As they started grinding themselves into the ground, their power holding Rinku up in the air, they sped forwards at Kuwabara. "This is my take on walking the dog!"

"Boy he's precocious." Kagome shook her head, "If he only wasn't trying to kill Kuwabara, I might admire him more."

Kuwabara started to tear up the arena by using his sword to make the tiles go up in the air like a wall. But no matter how many walls there were though, the yo-yos broke right through them. They came through the final one and hit Kuwabara, sending his Spirit Swords flying.

The strings of the yo-yos wrapped around Kuwabara's ankles and wrists. He was lifted up in the air and three yo-yos shot past him before coming back around hitting his back, sending him flying to the ground. Rinku laughed and lifted Kuwabara back up the air where he floated like a kite.

Koto yelled into her microphone, "Well people, I'll let you use your own imaginations with what happens if that human's poor, frail body falls from the top of the stadium and crashed all the way down to the hard, stone arena ground. Isn't this tournament to die for!"

Kagome just frowned, ready to purify the air headed commentator, calming down only when Kurama placed a hand on her shoulder.

"How do you like this one?!" Rinku shouted as he pulled Kuwabara to the ground and made him slam into it. "It's my take on around the world." He pulled Kuwabara back up and over his head, slamming Kuwabara into the concrete on the other side of him.

"What a glorious fight! The opponent is helpless, it's hard to counter attack when you can't even move! I love it!" Koto exclaimed.

Kagome rolled her eyes, "I'd love it if you'd let me knock her out." She grumbled, crossing her arms.

Kurama just smiled affectionately at her, "After the tournament, perhaps."

"Spoilsport."

Hiei ignored them and commented on the teen in the ring, "You see, I told you Kuwabara's training wouldn't be enough. We best assume him dead and plan for the next fight."

"No, there are still some techniques he hasn't tried." Kurama countered.

"The idiot is still underestimating that kid." Kagome shook her head, "If he'd even remotely taken this as seriously as he had Byakko, maybe he wouldn't be in so much pain."

"Did he take that seriously?" Hiei scoffed.

"Half-assed on the bridge. Once we got to the lava, and then the cultivated humans, it was game on."

"I'll take your word for it."

Kuwabara grunted from the ground as he struggled to lift his head up. "Ahh, I'm gonna get you! You're going to be screaming 'mommy'."

Rinku sighed and said, "You're like fighting a brick. How many times do I have to throw you around?" Rinku smiled widely suddenly. "Hey! I know exactly what to do, and I won't even have to work." He put his hands out straight in front of him and Spirit Energy started to surround him and transfer to the yo-yos. Kuwabara slowly lifted up.

"Ahh! Wait, what are you doing?" Kuwabara said as he struggled. Kuwabara was lifted high up, almost at the top of the arena. "I'm gonna get you! Put me down you brat!"

Rinku shouted up at him, "Just enjoy yourself! You'll be coming down soon enough!" Kuwabara slowly rose higher.

"I don't like what I think he means by that!" The teen yelled, flailing around.

"Yusuke!" Kagome glanced over to see Botan, Keiko and Shizuru in the crowd; Keiko being the one who yelled, "How can you keep sleeping when your friend is in trouble with these nasty demons?! Help him Yusuke! Get off your lazy butt and help him!" Kagome just shook her head and turned back to the match.

"Not sure why they're here, but they shouldn't be sitting there. It's too dangerous. Why aren't they in the private box with Koenma?"

"You know, it's really hard to take this serious, when a little kid with yo-yos is the one who's going to finish me!" Kuwabara shouted as he looked down.

"Was that for us or himself?" Kagome asked, watching the teen spiral.

"Does it matter?" Hiei scoffed, "He won't be saying anything soon enough."

"What's the matter with you, Yusuke? Your friends need you now! Think about that!" Kagome glanced back to see that Botan, Keiko, and Shizuru had come down to the base of the barrier to yell at an unconscious Yusuke.

"Knock it off, Keiko!" Kagome yelled, getting their attention, "He had an exhausting two months of training for this thing. He needs to recuperate before his first match. I don't know why you're here, but drawing all this demon attention to yourself is not a smart move. There's nothing we can do about Kuwabara, unfortunately, until his match is over. That's the rules. Now sit down."

"Fine! But I'm giving him a big piece of my mind for keeping this from me!"

"Not like he had a choice!" The Miko just rolled her eyes.

"Hang tight, Kuwabara! I don't suppose you can fly, can you?" Botan called.

"Uh!" Kuwabara's voice rang out as he looked down, "Oh, hey Botan! Oh-sis? I didn't know you were here! I'd give a better greeting, but I'm kinda busy here!"

"Rinku seems to be hesitating!" Koto called, "Why don't we ask the fans what they want!" The crowd roared, wanting blood. They shouted for Rinku to finish Kuwabara.

"Say, I guess that settles it." Rinku smirked, "Gotta give my fans what they want, and they want a drop." He yanked back the yo-yos and they let go of Kuwabara! Kuwabara started shouting as he fell towards the ground.

"This is it, people!" Koto yelled, "Get ready for the Boom!"

"You just made your biggest mistake, Rinku! You should have never let me use my hands! Spirit Sword, get long!" Kuwabara yelled, using the sword as a vault to launch himself at Rinku.

Koto yelled, "Kuwabara makes a sensational recovery, it's time for the nitty-gritty!"

"So the sword absorbs your fall like a backwards bungee cord, huh? That's a pretty neat-o idea, especially from a blockhead. There's one little problem though. You flying straight at me just makes it easier for all my yo-yos to hit you at once. And you can't handle that!" Rinku shouted and threw all his yo-yos at Kuwabara.

Kuwabara shouted, "My only chance for a hit! Yaaa!" He pushed one hand out in front of him, summoning his sword.

"Not that dummy sword again, I can dodge that easily."Rinku said and turned, jumping another direction. Kuwabara's sword started bending like Rinku's yo-yos and headed straight at Rinku.

Kagome smirked, "He seems to have learned something from the kid. Now let's see if he uses it effectively."

"Get the hell out of the way, Rinku!" Zeru yelled just as Rinku and Kuwabara's attacks hit each other. Some of Rinku's yo-yos broke off and were still on Kuwabara. They both went flying in the air.

"He really hit..." Rinku said.

Kuwabara replied, "That's right, I hit you!" They both hit the ground right outside of the ring.

"So, who's the winner?" Shizuru asked.

Botan said, "Beats me."

"Right, um," Kota stammered, "Well, both the fighters have been extraordinarily knocked outside the ring, at the very same time."

Hiei looked at Kurama, "Was that the focus of your training?"

"Well, more or less." The fox responded, "The main focus of our training was to teach him precise control of the Spirit Sword."

Kagome shrugged, "I'm impressed. Now he needs lessons on humility."

Kurama chuckled, "That would've taken too long."

"By the rules, you're only allowed to stay out of the ring for ten seconds, so um, I'm just going to start counting." Koto called as the crowd started cheering.

"I'd be surprised if either of them got back on their feet in time." Hiei commented.

"Don't underestimate Kuwabara yet." Kagome said, watching with them.

Kurama nodded, "It's true, both the yo-yo and the sword made solid hits. I guess we'll know soon enough."

"Get up! You're late Kuwabara!" Yusuke yelled from his sleep. Kagome just shook her head as they turned to look over at him.

Koto said, "5..." She looked over to the side and saw Rinku crawl back up on the stage and stand up. His shirt was torn in the middle and showing a bruised stomach. The demons in the stands started cheering.

"Dammit, I didn't think he could throw such a blow. I'm going to have to use my energy just to recover." Rinku complained and made a transparent ball of energy in his hands.

"Rinku has re-entered the ring after five counts, but it's not over yet!" Koto yelled into her microphone.

"That's okay, he's down for good." Rinku smirked, "I'll have my time to heal."

Yusuke yelled again, "Get up there Kuwabara! I'm serious! I know you're used to losing, but not know." Kagome just snickered.

"6..." Koto yelled.

All of the sudden, Kuwabara jumped to his feet. "What did you say!"

"6, Kuwabara. You have 4 counts to get in the ring," Koto replied.

"Not you. Urameshi!" Kuwabara said. "Out of my way!" He ran over to Yusuke and started shaking him by the collar. "You little bum, you want to say that to my face! Come on! Oh, you're pretending to be asleep now, you scared-y cat!"

Kagome just sighed, "I really should upgrade him from dimwit."

"7... And an 8," Koto continued.

"Hey, hold your horses! I'm coming!" Kuwabara yelled.

"Oh, man. I can't take any more of him right now." Rinku complained. He held his hand out and gathered some blue Spirit Energy. The yo-yos that had broken off, and were still hanging off of Kuwabara, came to life and wrapped themselves around the delinquent. They tightened up pretty hard to make him stay out of the ring.

"9 counts!" Koto exclaimed.

Kuwabara started shouting ,"Let go of me, stupid yo-yo strings! That's cheating!"

"10!" Koto yelled as she brought her hand down. The yo-yos released Kuwabara, causing him to fall backwards.

"And Rinku's the winner! The Rokuyoukai team gets the point!" Koto said.

"No, no, no, no, no!" Kuwabara yelled, getting back onto the stage. "That wasn't a fair move! Let's go!"

"What? You run on batteries or something? I beat you! Just go away!" Rinku whined.

"That was fairly innocent." Kurama mused, "It's rare to see both fighters still standing."

Kagome scoffed, "Look who was fighting."

"I assure you it won't happen with me," Hiei smirked at the Miko.

"At least it'll be a better show."

"This isn't over, kid. Meet me behind the hotel and we'll settle it later!" Kuwabara yelled at the kid like a school yard bully.

"Just go away!" Rinku said, running to his team. Someone from the Rokuyoukai team stepped up.

"Please, I'll handle this one," Kurama said, jumping into the arena.

"Kurama, considering the stakes, we can't afford to take any chances." Hiei said, "Don't leave the ring with him still alive."

"Naturally," Kurama replied. Kagome just smirked. This is going to be good. She looked over to see that Kuwabara was struggling.

"They'll deal with the rest of em, you just relax." She said to him.

"Hey! I'm not out of this yet. If Yusuke doesn't wake up, I'll take the last guy," Kuwabara yelled, still posturing.

"We'll pray that that doesn't happen." Hiei said.

Kagome just sighed, "I don't know what would be worse. Him getting back in the ring or me taking over."

Kurama snapped his eyes in her direction, "Not happening."

She smirked, "Then I suggest you don't die."

To be continued…
