The call comes shortly after the press conference. All four siblings receive a text from an unknown number, telling them to report to the summer palace. A helicopter is being sent for them.

"I told you the press conference would put a rocket up Dad," says Kendall in the helicopter.

"What do you think he wants?" says Connor, staring out of the window.

"Revenge, probably," says Kendall. "Maybe we should all be wearing bulletproof vests."

"Can we all stop acting like we're in fucking — Godfather?" says Roman. "Nobody is getting killed."

"Whatever, Fredo," Shiv mutters.

The summer palace is deserted when the siblings arrive. As they enter the house, they can't even pretend to be surprised by the sight of Colin, standing guard outside their father's study.

"He's in there," says Colin, nodding at the door. As Kendall leads the others towards the study, Colin stops him. "Your father asked me to keep an eye on you, while he was gone…"

Kendall nods at the bodyguard and pushes the door open. Logan turns around in the chair at his desk.

"You made it," he says. Connor, who has not seen his father since his return, grips Kendall's shoulder.

"You wanted to see us all?" says Kendall.

"I saw your little press conference," says Logan. "Most amusing. I hope you feel better for it."

"I don't feel very good at all, Pa," says Connor. "I spent hours sitting with what it turns out was a very convincing replica of you."

"I'm sorry about that, son." Logan sounds genuinely regretful. "It was these three that needed to believe it."

"You broke our hearts," says Shiv. "None of us will ever forgive you."

"I'm not asking for forgiveness. I just want to start putting my life back together. I want you all to be a part of that."

"How can we ever trust you again, Dad?" asks Roman.

"You asked me to wake up," says Logan gently. "Here I am."

"You heard me?" Roman looks at Kendall, who shakes his head.

"We can't forgive you, Dad," Kendall states. "We're just here to tell you that. If you want your life back, it'll have to be without us."

"You played your hand well, kids. But it's over. I'm back." Logan coughs and then doubles over.

"Dad?" Roman moves towards his father.

"Don't play the same trick twice, Dad," Kendall warns.

"I think he's serious, Kendall." Shiv steps forward too, concerned. Logan has now slumped to the floor, clutching his chest.

"I'm calling an ambulance." Connor gets out his phone. "I can't let the old man die, whatever he's done."

Kendall looks at his father without pity. "He's already dead."

"Dad?" Roman bends down to squeeze Logan's shoulders. "The ambulance is coming."

Connor is speaking into his phone. "Yes, my father, Logan Roy…"

Colin bursts into the room and runs over to Logan and Roman. "Sir? What happened?"

"We didn't do anything." Roman puts up his hands in protest. "We were just talking…"

Kendall watches from the window as the ambulance arrives. He and Shiv exchange a look. Logan Roy's resurrection will soon become public knowledge.

"What do we tell them?" Shiv asks Kendall.

"The truth," says Kendall. "We got a message telling us to meet him here. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, we didn't know anything until today."

THE CORRESPONDENT: LOGAN ROY RISES FROM THE DEAD

Logan Roy has been found alive, after his presumed death a month ago. The media mogul, 82, was pronounced dead after a failed trip to Norway to visit tech billionaire Lukas Matsson, who recently purchased Mr Roy's company Waystar Royco, but it is now known that Mr Roy survived the collapse and is currently in critical condition in hospital. It is unclear why Mr Roy was declared to be dead, or why a funeral was held, but it is suspected that Mr Roy may have faked his own death for protection amid credible assassination threats from liberals in the run up to the election.

Mr Roy's eldest son, Connor Roy, 56, said in a statement on behalf of himself and his three siblings, "We are delighted that our father is alive, albeit still in a severe condition. We look forward to spending time together as a family when he recovers."
