A/N: Sort of a filler chapter, fluff at the end!
(later that day at Percy's swordfighting class)
I fluidly disarmed Clarisse with a single maneuver, earning me a disdainful yet begrudgingly approving look from the daughter of Ares.
"So that's how you do it," I explained. "Now partner up and start practicing until one of you pulls it off, and then find a new partner."
The younger campers just stood there, wide eyed and staring at Clarisse's spear which had clattered to the ground, electricity fizzing here and there.
"Beat it, punks," Clarisse snapped, and all of them scrambled to get practice swords and partners.
"Thanks for helping me with my demo," I told Clarisse.
"Yeah, yeah yeah," she grumbled. "Don't forget it, Prissy. I'm off to feed Peleus. Don't do anything stupid, punk."
I smirked and nodded with a sharp jut of my chin. Clarisse jogged off and I went to sit down on the side benches of the arena...and my gaze may or may not have flitted towards where Annabeth was teaching archery once...or twice...or most of the time...
"Alright, good practice today, everyone!" I said, clapping my hands together as I stood in front of the class. "Everyone who has performed the disarming maneuver at least once today, you can go. The rest of you, stay back and I'll give you a few pointers."
Most of the class cleared out, and all that was left was a few Apollo kids, two Aphrodite kids, and a son of Hecate.
"You guys did great today, but there are some improvements to your technique that could be made. For example, if you improve your fighting stance and keep your center of balance steady, it's harder to be disarmed. Secondly, if you use the tip of your sword after it passes though the move to flip the hilt out of their hands, you're more likely to pull it off successfully. Lastly-"
I tensed as I felt a presence behind me, my hand instinctively reaching for Riptide. I was a second away from uncapping my pen-sword until I felt a familiar pressure on the small of my back, teasing and brushing over the sensitive skin. I bit back a moan and struggled to not let my eyes roll back into my head, black spots dancing in my eyes.
I cursed colorfully in Ancient Greek. Shoot, Annabeth was right behind me with her Yankees cap on...
"What's wrong?" Mauve, a daughter of Aphrodite, asked.
"N-nothing," I said through gritted teeth. "You're free to go," I added as Annabeth's teasing touch intensified.
"Weren't you going to tell us one more thing?" Ibis, the son of Hecate, said. He looked dubious...he could probably sense the magic radiating off Annabeth's invisibility cap.
I nearly groaned in frustration. "Fine, lastly just make sure you strike with more p-precision-" I clutched my head as the pleasure nearly became too much.Snap out of it Percy!
"Are you okay?" a son of Apollo asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine-just a headache," I managed. "You can go now, good work today! Shoo, shoo!"
The kids cleared out of the arena quickly and finally I couldn't take it anymore. My legs buckled and I sank to the ground on my knees.
"Annabeth..." I whined. "N-not fair."
Even though she was invisible I could feel her smirk. "Seemed like you were enjoying it...a bit too much," she murmured teasingly. I felt her breath ghost over my ear and I let out a small whimper.
She took off her Yankees cap and materialized right next to me, lips inches away from mine.
As I leaned in to kiss her, I noticed something...Her eyes looked glazed over, as if someone had put a film over those intense gray eyes.
Dammit, the curse was affecting her now! I hesitated to kiss her...It didn't feel right to steal kisses when she was under the influence of a spell. I pulled back and tried not to look at Annabeth's hurt face.
"Sorry, Wise Girl," I muttered. "I can't do this to you...the curse is affecting you right now."
"I don't care, Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth said, the cutest pout I'd ever seen gracing her lips. She moved towards me smoothly and seductively, like a panther inches from its flailing prey. I fought the urge to lunge forward and pin her against the ground. A predatory look was on Annabeth's face as she leaned over me, pressing me against the arena floor.
"Mmm..."
Who said that?
Much too late, I realized it was me, moaning and writhing as Annabeth attached my neck with kisses. I suddenly came back to my senses and pushed her off, running out of the arena and hoping that she'd be okay.
(after campfire, in Percy's cabin)
"I'm sorry, Wise Girl," I said, doing my baby-seal-eyes and clasping my palms together in a begging gesture. "It just didn't feel right when...you know..."
Annabeth sighed and then relaxed, leaning on my shoulder. "It's okay. I understand."
"I love you," I murmured, nuzzling my face into her neck. Gods, I loved moments like these, when my soul felt all warm and fuzzy and even with my ADHD I didn't want to move. These innocent, loving gestures meant so much to me, and were possibly even better than when we exhanged erotic touches and heated kisses.
"Love you too Seaweed Brain," she sighed, tracing comforting patterns on the back of my hand.
"Curfew's in five minutes," I yawned, holding Annabeth closer to my chest.
"Yup," she replied sleepily.
"So..."
"I should probably go back to Cabin Six."
"Yup..."
I turned off the lights and pulled Annabeth under the covers with me, my eyes drifting closed to the sound of Annabeth's steady heartbeat and the comforting smell of her golden blonde hair.
A/N: Did you like it? Love it? Hate it? Please R , and no offering to do commissioned art please. I'm not interested in any of that (sorry!).
