Dragons were legendary creatures, yet only mythical creatures in humans' eyes. They were massive creatures that were as majestic as they were terrifying. Some had large wings, walked on four legs, and, according to the stories, lived on mountain peaks. Some had long snake-like bodies and were said to live in rivers. However, they had one thing in common in humans' eyes: dragons were only mythical creatures. This was so and always would be.
In the world of the supernatural, however, dragons were quite alive. Whether it's the Dragon of Infinity, Ophis, Great Red, or the Five Dragon Kings, every supernatural being knew they existed. However, the two heavenly dragons were the most famous besides Ophis and Great Red.
The two rivals started a fight during the Great War and grounded entire masses of land during their battle. All three factions of angels, fallen angels, and devils joined forces and destroyed their bodies. After that, the souls of the two were sealed in Sacred Gears.
However, their rivalry continued after losing their original bodies. It went on through the carriers of the Sacred Gears. Again and again, the owners of the Sacred Gears met and continued the battle of the rivals to show who was the stronger.
Even after countless generations of people, the bearers still carried the fight, and now it was time for the new carriers to meet and continue the fight. Who would emerge victorious from this long rivalry this time?

A volcano could be seen in the distance, smoke rising steadily. Lava flowed down the volcano on all sides and spread throughout the landscape. There was scorched earth everywhere, and flames were everywhere you looked. Amid this landscape, a majestic creature looked up at the gray sky.
In the sky, the creature saw an image of a girl with long black hair with spikes. The creature seems to be grinning. "Albion, you won't find the perfect partner this time."
The image of the girl disappeared from the sky, and the creature lay down on the scorched earth and rested its head on one of its two claws. "I hope you'll find a suitable partner, Albion. Otherwise, I'm sure of victory this time."
The creature closed its eyes and began to sleep.
"Naruto!" He knew this voice. It was the voice of his best friend, whom he had known since he was a little kid. The voice echoed in the endless darkness he was hovering in now. He looked around and tried to see something, but he couldn't find it.
He imagined that he would open his eyes to this darkness when he would die. He had a rare illness, and this caused him to die in his mid-thirties. It was unfortunate that he died so young, but he didn't have a single regret.
He managed to achieve everything he ever wanted. From one specific day in his younger years, he always wanted acknowledgment from the villagers and others. He wanted to have friends who accepted him for who he was and not judge him like all the others. He wanted to become Hokage, and he wanted so many more things.
He managed to succeed in every goal he had set in his mind. Rescuing his best friend from darkness, he became the hero of Konoha, getting acknowledgment from the villagers, getting good friends, fulfilling every promise he made, becoming Hokage, creating peace in the world, and freeing Kurama of his endless hatred.
Naruto Uzumaki was one of a kind. He never gave up, even when everyone else in the world would have given up. He never succumbed to darkness and followed the path of light. He never gave up, and nothing could break his mind. He lived after his principles and didn't let anyone tell him otherwise. He chose his path and walked it with confidence.
He could still hear the last words from his best friend, who stood beside him when Naruto lost the fight against the illness. Sasuke Uchiha had always been Naruto's brother. No matter what happened, the two were always able to communicate on a frequency that no one else understood. When both fought together, no one had a chance of beating them. They understood each other better than anyone else.
Naruto smiled when he still heard the voice of his best friend in his mind. He waited for the Shinigami or whoever would judge him and lead him to the next instance of his journey. He knew there was another "side," as someone would call it. His mother, father, master, and other dead people who were important to him were waiting for him to appear. He hoped he would meet them soon.
He couldn't wait to see them again after all these years. He smiled, thinking about all the people he would meet when he finally arrived at his destination. He just needed to wait for someone to guide him there.
But instead of a Shinigami to appear, he saw a faint light in the distance. It was small at first, but it grew larger with every second. He narrowed his eyes, seeing the green light in the distance. It was like a sunrise. The light was once a little point at the horizon but grew larger with each passing second.
He had to shield his eyes when the light became too strong. When he opened his eyes the next time, he was confused. He felt weak… extremely weak. His blue eyes looked upward since he was lying if he guessed right. He saw a white ceiling. This smell… the sensation on this skin… just everything reminded him of a hospital.
He turned his head to both sides and could confirm it. He was in some kind of hospital. Not Konoha's hospital. That's for sure. He was confused… why did he wake up in a hospital, and why did he feel so weak?
He raised his head to look at his own body. 'What?' thought Naruto. He couldn't believe it. He knew his body and the body he looked at right now didn't belong to him. His original body was muscular through countless hours of training, fighting, and other experiences. Many said he had the perfect body for a Shinobi. Strong, fast, flexible, and dynamic. The body he looked at right now looked like the body of an older woman.
He had barely any muscles; everyone could see his bones. It was like he didn't eat for six months straight without moving. He tried to sit up and had trouble even doing something simply like that. He growled in frustration when he felt how every move ached. He tried to sit up because he saw a mirror on the wall beside him. He wanted to know which body he was in right now. It wasn't his own, that's for sure.
He got wide eyes when he saw the face of the person he was in right now. He looked almost exactly like when he was 18 years old, just with a useless body. He raised his hand with some struggle and touched his face.
'How is that possible?' thought Naruto. He couldn't believe he was in a body that looked like his younger self, just in terrible condition. He wasn't sure if he could even walk. He was only wearing white pants right now. So he could see his weak upper body pretty well. He had some struggle, but he could swing his legs over the edge and place his feet on the cold ground. He was glad that this body also possessed chakra… his only worry was the amount. He had barely any chakra at all in this weak body. Even Sakura in the academy had more chakra than Naruto right now. It was almost pitiful. He always had this vast and almost unlimited amount of chakra… but now? He had barely anything.
'What is this situation? I don't get it. This is definitely not the afterlife. I shouldn't feel so weak or look like that. After I died, I felt nothing. I felt no pain or any other kind of emotion normally,' thought Naruto. But he felt pain right now.
He closed his eyes and tried to feel someone else. He was currently alone in this hospital room if he had to guess. He didn't know where he was, but he was sure he should be able to feel other humans. He concentrated, and just like that, he felt multiple signatures of lives.
This was another thing he noticed right away… he couldn't feel chakra in the humans outside his room. He felt the emotions of the humans right now and could tell from that how many there were and where they were. It was something he got through his long years together with Kurama. Something that once was only available to Kurama and through him also to his Jinchūriki became a natural part of Naruto.
Why didn't others also have chakra? Naruto didn't understand anything right now.
He opened his eyes and heard how someone opened the door. He looked at the little corridor that led to the door, and shortly afterward, a nurse came into the room. The nurse was holding a clipboard with a few documents on it. She was looking at it before stopping for a second. She wrote something down on it and raised her gaze.
Naruto saw it instantly. The nurse was shocked, and she displayed similar emotions openly on her face. Her mouth was wide open, her finger directed toward Naruto, her eyes so vast that she would lose her mind and other typical physical indicators.
"W-what? You are awake!" said the nurse.
"Yes?" asked Naruto. He scratched the side of his head and didn't really know what was going on. It seemed like this body was in some coma if he had to guess. This would at least explain the poor condition of this body. Was Naruto reincarnated into this body, or what the hell was going on? He would soon find the answer, but it was still a lot to analyze. One thing was for sure… he wasn't in Konoha anymore. Even right now… he couldn't feel any chakra in the nurse before him. Even regular civilians had some chakra in them, but the nurse before him had nothing at all.
So far, it felt too real to be a dream. He knew he had died in Konoha. There was no mistake. It was like he was reincarnated into a human who looked exactly like him when he was 18 years old.
The nurse rushed to Naruto's side. "Please lay down! You are extremely weak! You shouldn't stress your body so much!" Naruto did exactly what she said and laid down. The nurse helped him and even covered his weak body with a blanket.
After she made sure that Naruto was lying comfortably, she took a deep breath and said, "I am sorry to tell you this, Mr. Uzumaki, but you were in a coma for eight months."
'So it's true,' thought Naruto. 'But wait… did she just call me Mister Uzumaki? Is the name of the human who looks exactly like me also Naruto Uzumaki?' He couldn't believe it! What were the chances of something like this to happen? He woke up in a body that looked exactly like himself, and now he found out the human was also called Uzumaki with last name.
"I-is this my name? I am sorry, but I don't really remember anything…" said Naruto. This was the most effective way of getting crucial information from the nurse. If he faked amnesia right now, he should have general information about the human he is residing in right now.
"Oh, I see…" The nurse tipped her finger on the clipboard for a few seconds before she said, "Before we talk further, please wait a moment; I will get the doctor! This is truly a miracle that you woke up out of the blue!" The nurse had a relieved tone. It was like she finally accepted the fact that the patient she looked after for the last eight months without any change in situation suddenly woke up and surprised her.
In the next few hours, Naruto learned some things about his situation. He found out that the name of the body he was using right now was indeed Naruto Uzumaki. He was brought into this hospital eight months ago with a fatal wound in his stomach. It looked like he was stabbed with something like a spear or something multiple times. It was a miracle itself that this human survived. But after the hospital made sure this human wasn't in danger anymore, the human fell into a coma all of a sudden. He didn't wake up, no matter what the hospital did.
This Naruto Uzumaki… the human Naruto found himself inside, was an orphan, and he lived alone. He had an apartment in town where the hospital was. It was like this was some alternate dimension where Naruto was right now. The things he heard about Naruto Uzumaki from this world were too identical to his own life to some extent.
After a few hours, Naruto was left alone with much to think about. He didn't know what he should do. He didn't have any relatives in this world. He found out that he was in a country named Japan and, more specifically, in a Town called Kuoh.
He had one or two visitors who visited him while he was in a coma. He didn't know the names of those persons yet, but they came in relatively constant intervals. It was clear those people knew the Naruto Uzumaki from this world.
But this didn't matter right now… he had to do something about his body first. Everything else could wait. If Naruto couldn't even do the most basic things alone, all other things would be useless to know.
He sat up in his bed and gently removed the blanket from his body. He went into a lotus position and closed his eyes. He made sure to check if someone was near his room right now before he began to concentrate.
'Let's see…' He began to regulate his breathing and concentrated on the deep functions of his body. He could feel his steady heartbeat, his lungs, his muscles how they twitched before they became motionless, and other body functions. He began to meditate to get a better feeling of this body and the chakra he now possessed. He hoped there was some secret inside the body where chakra was stored. Naruto thought that the previous owner of this body used a method to let it seem like he almost had no chakra… but sadly, there was nothing. But still, he used the time to get a better feeling of his new body.
He could tell that this body once had more chakra than he had right now. The chakra pathways were far too large for this little chakra. It was like someone drained this body of its chakra. But this wasn't a big problem because this gave Naruto a few options to refill his reserves with some seals and natural energy. It would take time, but he could fill his chakra network to the point where it should be.
After two hours, Naruto lay down and closed his eyes, pretending to sleep. He regulated his breathing to fake actual sleeping. Shinobi learned this to catch enemies off guard. The Shinobi would perfectly fake regular sleeping and strike when the enemy was close enough.
Naruto heard the door open and someone walking in. The light wasn't turned on. Whoever came into the room didn't have strong negative emotions toward Naruto. He would feel it right away. The person had negative emotions like every other living being, but it was nothing to worry about.
The person walked toward Naruto's bed and stopped when the person stood beside the bed. 'This isn't a normal person,' thought Naruto. The person didn't make a single sound while walking. The person stood beside Naruto's bed and remained motionless for a few minutes.
"Thank you." Those were the two words the person said before she walked out of the room. Naruto opened one eye when the person was away. 'It seems like the Naruto Uzumaki from this world somehow has a connection to the woman who just walked out of the room.'
Some might ask how Naruto knew that this person was a woman. Firstly, her voice was definitely from a woman, and next was her smell. She was wearing some perfume if Naruto had to guess. Overall, the person couldn't be a man.
He sat up and looked at the door. 'I wonder who this was,' thought Naruto. It would be a great help if Naruto could remember things about the life of Naruto Uzumaki in this world, but he didn't. He only had his own memories and not the memories of the Naruto Uzumaki of this world.
He closed his eyes and lay back down. He was exhausted from his action before. Dealing with all the things with his body was pretty exhausting with this weak body. It was frustrating, but he couldn't change it. He would need time to get this body in a shape where he could deal with other things.
Luckily, he wouldn't leave the hospital so soon. He could gather information slowly through the right questions, and with time, he could get his body back into a decent shape and refill his chakra reserves so that they would be back to normal… at least how they were in this new body. If Naruto had to guess, this body once possessed the chakra reserves of a normal Jonin.
'But for now… I need to sleep,' thought Naruto.
