AN: Phew! And we're back! First story update for the new year, and it's some more Chibi fun!

[audience applause]

Of course, we're not just celebrating a new year today. Ladies and gents, let's give a great big happy birthday cheer for one of the leading ladies of the RWBY franchise and our favorite heroine of the Faunus, Blake Belladonna!

[extra loud applause with cheers]

Blake: Do you really have to plug the whole "favorite Faunus" thing in every time you post something that celebrates my birthday?

AN: Hey, come on. I've only done that like twice now...I think? Maybe three times. But anyways, in celebration of said event, as I'm sure many have already gleaned from the title of the chapter, every skit we're rolling today is one that features Blake! Pretty sweet, huh?

Nora: Not to mention it also starts the new mini series for SLVR Chibi.

Yang: That being?

[theme music from Beast Wars starts playing]

AN: Uh...I don't recall cuing any music. Who's doing that?

Nora: SHIP WARS!

AN: Never mind. Mystery just solved itself.

Nora: SHIP WARS!

AN: Nora! [music stops with typical record scratch] That's enough. The get the point. So, without further adieu, let's run our opening statements and dive right in!

Chapter 13: Day of Blake

Ship Wars

Round 1

Lea was happily skipping along on his way to meet Yang for a fun date. Well, more of a hang out, but they had already been calling them dates for ages now, so Lea was going to count it as such. Just as he was about to come to the meeting place, a stream of water came blasting out of nowhere right into the midst of his path. Luckily he managed to stop just before even a drop could hit him, but as soon as the stream had ended Lea was quickly glaring off in the direction of whoever had just tried to spray him.

"Ha, ha! Very funny wise guy," Lea called out to the mystery perpetrator. "You're just lucky I'm a little busy right now, or else I'd come over there and-WHOA!"

Lea's rant had been stopped short by another blast of water that he just barely ducked under in time. Before he could even turn to see where that blast came from, another one shot at him, and another, and another, and several more, forcing him to start ducking, dodging, and break dancing in order to avoid getting wet. Eventually, Lea could no longer stay ahead of the blasts and one got him, forcing him to scramble away shouting for someone to help save him from the water salvos. Too bad for him they kept going until he was well away from the area entirely.

Meanwhile, Yang was starting to impatiently tap her foot at the meeting place she and Lea had agreed upon. Clearly she had been waiting for some time now. Luckily for her, one of her favorite people just turned up to turn that frown upside-down. "Hey Yang," Blake called out as she casually walked up. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah Blake. I was just waiting for Lea to show up so we could hang out, but he's a couple hours late. I tried calling and texting, but he hasn't answered," Yang grumbled.

"Well you never know. Maybe something came up," Blake shrugged. "Why don't we hang out instead? Maybe that'll cheer you up."

"I don't know. We were planning to race to see whose ride was faster. My bike versus his Keyblade Glider. I don't think you'd be too interested in that," Yang hedged, knowing Blake preferred to be a spectator of any races than a participant.

"Maybe not, but I wouldn't say no to just cruising around the city on Bumblebee. You know how much I enjoy just riding your motorcycle with you," Blake admitted, a small blush starting to bloom on her face. Not that Yang really seemed to notice; she was too happy to hear Blake's suggestion for what they could do instead.

"Alright, sure! Let's do it," Yang agreed and the two quickly boarded Bumblebee before racing off into the city. The whole time, Yang never noticed Blake discreetly slipping a remote control of some kind into her back pocket, nor the not-so-innocent smirk she had sent off in the direction Lea had run off in earlier.

Round 2

It had not taken Lea too long to realize what Blake had done with the water guns, and he was not about to let that stand. His problem with getting this payback was a direct assault was never going to work against Blake; she was much too sneaky and too ninja for it to ever work. So he figured he should go for a less direct approach. His method of doing so, was putting up a bunch of graffiti along the route Yang and Blake were sure to take on their usual walk around the city; all of it being messages or images that suggested Blake had interests in some other person. The most common being Sun and some other girl with a long ponytail that he could swear he'd spotted following Blake around lately. He was not sure what her name was, but he was pretty sure it had something to do with a species of butterfly. Something Amitola…whatever the case, this was sure to give Yang the wrong idea about Blake.

"Hehehe. Payback's about to hit you hard Belladonna," Lea promised as he stealthily snuck away, eager to see the results of his labor.

His sneaking came to an abrupt halt when he heard a familiar voice urgently shouting, "Axel! Axel! Come quick! We've got a problem! A big, BIG problem!"

"Roxas?! Hold on, little buddy! I'm a-coming!" Lea gasped in a panic, and he immediately raced over to his best friend. "What happened, Roxas? What's wrong?! Did something happen to Xion? Are you hurt anywhere?!"

"No worse! Someone's vandalized this building, and they made a personal attack on you when they did it!" Roxas exclaimed, indicating the building in question.

Looking to the building, Lea's eyes immediately widened in horror at the sight of a graffiti image someone made of him and Roxas cuddling together like a loving couple. "Oooooh!" Lea growled before quickly scooping up a bucket and brush and furiously scrubbing to get rid of the offensive imagery. "When I get my hands on whoever's trying to besmirch my good name! Me and Roxas are just best friends, people! We're not like that!"

"Axel! Axel! They did it again! Only worse!" Roxas cried out from a little further down the street. Glancing to see the image was washed out enough to where no one could recognize what it was supposed to be, Lea raced over to Roxas' location, only this time, he saw the image was him bridal carrying Larxene!

"Grrr! Why I oughta!" Lea growled as he furiously started scrubbing off this image too. He just hoped this was the last of it, because he did not think anyone could do worse than this. Unfortunately, he was quickly proven wrong.

"Axel! Axel!"

"Oh now what?!" Lea shouted as he scrambled over to Roxas again, only to suppress the urge to gag at the sight of him Isa kissing! "Oh now, that wasn't even funny the first time, people!"

Once again, Lea started furiously scrubbing off the offensive image, only this time, by the time he was halfway done, Yang and Blake had come onto the scene, surprised at the sight before them. "Hey Lea, I didn't know you were the one going around getting rid of all this illegal graffiti," Yang praised.

"Oh! Uh, yeah, that's uh…That's me! Just performing a simple public service and…stuff," Lea stuttered, having been caught off guard.

"Well, don't let us stop you. I'm pretty sure there was at least a couple more images further down the block that someone wanted gone right away," Blake encouraged. As she and Yang proceeded to continue on their way, she smirked a bit and quietly added, "Have fun scrubbing it all out, Moon Lover."

Lea could only growl at how she had clearly realized what this image was supposed to be showing, when he realized something odd. Most of the image was already gone, so it was hard for anyone to tell what either subject was supposed to be, and upon closer inspection, he noticed something even more peculiar. This was one of the spots where he had put up his little revenge art against Blake. In point of fact it looked like this new image was covering up one of the old ones. Realizing all of this, Lea could only think of one thing to say. "HEY! WAIT A MINUTE!"

Further down the street, Blake softly chuckled at the sound of Lea's shouting, safe in the knowledge Yang would not know since she was currently in a shop getting them a little treat to enjoy. Of course, she was not about to let her partner in crime go unrewarded. "Here you go," Blake nodded as she passed over the munny she owed him. "Should be enough for all the ice cream you can eat in a day."

"Much obliged, madam," Roxas nodded in return. "And remember, I had nothing to do with any of this."

"Don't worry. He won't hear so much as a peep about your involvement from me," Blake promised.

Roxas nodded in return before turning to hurry away, only pausing to retrieve his Gummiphone so he could call Xion and arrange an ice cream date for the two of them. Of course, Blake never said her payment for Roxas stopped at just the money. "Neo, don't even think about it," she said to someone who had been hiding in a nearby alleyway. "Let the two of them have a peaceful ice cream date, or you'll find yourself short a parasol and the kingdom completely devoid of all your favorite ice cream flavors."

A faint shimmer of light told Blake her message had been received, and she smiled a little more when Yang came back out with their treats in hand, eager to continue their walk.

Round 3

Now this idea might be just a little petty since he was kind of stepping onto something Blake normally did all the time, but after that last stunt, he was not above dishing out low blows. He had found every type of book Yang and Blake might like reading together, and gathered them all in one spot for a casual, relaxing night with Yang. Sure, she already did that a lot with Blake, but as previously stated, Lea was feeling especially petty now.

He had just finished gathering up some ice cream for them to enjoy while the read and returned to the sitting room, when he stopped short and blanched at the sight before him. Somehow, Blake and Yang had already gotten there and started in on the books he had gathered together. Not only that, but they were both smiling and giggling at one another like some kind of private joke had formed just now.

When she glanced up and saw Lea standing in the door, Yang could only smile and said, "Oh hey Lea! Thanks for finding all these books for me and Blake to read together tonight. When she told me you helped find some good ones we'd both enjoy, I was a little worried, but these are proving to be really good."

"…Yeah. No problem," Lea hesitantly nodded back, knowing he could not try and refute anything that Yang just said without looking like a bad guy. Apparently Blake knew this too, as he caught sight of her shooting him a victorious smirk even as he slunk down the hall and back to Team SLVR's dorm room.

Seeing his downtrodden friend's state, Sora could only draw one conclusion as to what had happened, and thus gave him a simple bit of advice. "I'd call it quits while you're ahead now, buddy. I don't think you're gonna get any wins today."

"Yeah, I realized that for myself, thanks," Lea grumbled before plopping down on his bed and shoveling the snacks into his mouth to start off his mini pity party. "You may have won this battle, Belladonna, but you will not win the war."

Blake the Wingwoman

It was just a peaceful day at the sitting room; the kind where one could just kick back and relax with a good book like Blake was doing right now. The moment Ruby walked in would normally mean the end of that peace, but not when she was incredibly nervous and worried like she was right now. Clearly the girl was worried about something and needed advice, hence the reason why she immediately rushed over to her Faunus friend.

"Hey Blake. Can I talk to you about something really quick?" Ruby asked.

"Uh-huh," Blake muttered in response.

"See, with the big dance coming up, I was thinking about asking Sora if he wanted to go with me," Ruby started.

"Yeah, that makes sense," Blake muttered in response.

"But what if he doesn't want to go? What if he laughs at me when I ask, or I say something stupid, or what if someone already asked him and he goes with her instead?"

"Uh-huh."

"I mean, I know there aren't too many girls interested in him, and even fewer that he's interested in, but what if… W-what if… what if Kairi suddenly pops back up and all of a sudden all he can see is her and all my chance go up in smoke?!" Ruby exclaimed, clearly breaking down into a small panic attack.

"I mean, you never know anything for sure unless you ask him," Blake shrugged in response.

Ruby was about to offer up a retort, until she let the words mull over in her mind for a bit. Eventually, she had to smile at the conclusion she finally reached. "Yeah, you're right. I won't know unless I ask. After all, this is Sora we're talking about. We'll still be good friends no matter what, and it's not like it's the end of the world if he does say no. I'd probably regret it more if I never asked him at all. I'm gonna go find him and ask him to the dance. Thanks Blake!"

"Uh-huh," Blake nodded as Ruby hurried out of the room. A few seconds later though, Blake had another visitor, and this time it was the boy Ruby was just talking to her about.

"Hey Blake, you got a second?" Sora asked.

"Why not?"

"You know that big dance that's coming up? Well I've been getting the impression that Ruby might want me to go with her for some reason," Sora revealed.

"Really?" Blake muttered, though there was a small hint of a sarcastic undertone.

"Yeah, I know! I mean, why would she want to go with me? There's gotta be a ton of guys who would be a better option, right?" Sora suggested.

"I don't know about that," Blake muttered.

"And even then, I'm not sure what I should even say. I mean, I like Ruby, but I also really like Kairi, and I don't want to make either of them feel bad if something happens, ya know? I guess…I just really some advice on what to do here. I've never dealt with something like this before," Sora sighed in defeat.

"Come on. What's the harm in just taking a dive?" Blake questioned.

Sora gaped at her for a second before he smiled and realized, "Yeah, you're right. Nobody said it has to be a date. It could just be a couple of good friends hanging out and having fun. And besides, it's not like it'd be wrong for me to hang out with other friends, regardless of their gender or interests. I'm sure neither Ruby or Kairi would let things like that get the way of our friendships. Guess that settles it, if Ruby asks me to go with her, I'll say yes. A dance is bound to be more fun with friends anyways. Thanks Blake!"

"Yep," Blake nodded along.

Shortly after Sora left, Ventus came into the room looking a little frazzled but otherwise determined. "Phew! Okay, I got this. I'm gonna do it," Ventus muttered to himself. "I am going to ask her."

"What are you doing?" Blake muttered, making Ventus jump a little.

"Oh! Blake. Sorry, I didn't see you there," Ventus apologized. "I was just…psyching myself up for asking Weiss to the dance. I know, it's a little crazy to think of asking her, since you know, she's Weiss, and everyone's probably climbing over themselves to ask her, but I just got this feeling, ya know? Like I've got a real shot if I just walk up to her ask."

"So what are you standing around here for?" Blake questioned.

Ventus glanced about and realized that his friend had a point. "You're right. I shouldn't be wasting time with silly little mental preps. I need just buckle down and ask her. Huh. I guess I was being a little silly with this whole 'you got this' mantra thing. You know, you seem like you have a real talent for helping people out like this, Blake. I think we'd all be in trouble if you started charging people for it. Okay, I'm gonna go find Weiss and ask her to the dance. See you later, Blake."

Blake did not say anything this time, and all was quiet for a few more minutes until she let out a smile with a satisfied hum as she closed her book and put it aside. "That was a really good book," Blake determined with a couple gentle pats on the cover. She then turned to where her friends had just been and asked, "Okay, so what did you…Huh?" Glancing this way and that, Blake's brow soon furrowed in confusion. "Weird. I could've sworn someone had been talking to me just now."

At that moment, Ruby danced in with a proud and satisfied look on her face and exclaimed, "Blake! Blake! He said yes! Ah! I can't believe he actually agreed to go to the dance with me! I mean, sure, we never said it was a date, but I asked him and he said yes! Ah, and none of this would've happened without your awesome advice. You're the best!"

"No problem, Ruby," Blake nodded. She then paused a second later when she realized something off. "Wait, what advice?"

Ruby had already danced away, humming a soft tune to herself as Sora came in a second later. "Hey, Blake. Looks like you were right about just diving into things, plus Ruby seemed pretty happy and excited after I agreed to go with her to the dance. Well, I guess I'd better make sure I can give her a fun night to remember. Thanks again."

"No prob—wait, what are you talking about?" Blake questioned, but Sora had already left before her confusion could be cleared up. It only deepened further when Ventus came in with good news and words of thanks right after.

"Holy crap! She said yes! Even better, she said she had been waiting for me to ask her all day! Haha! I don't know why I ever spent all the time stressing about asking Weiss if she'd go to the dance with me. You were right. It was better to just go for it. You rock, Blake," Ventus praised.

"I—uh—you-you're welcome? I think," Blake stuttered. She had no idea what any of her friends were talking about, but she had somehow helped them out and they were all happy. Maybe that was all that mattered. As long as they were not confusing her for one of her shadow clones again like the last time this kind of weirdness happened.

Well Wishes

Blake was taking a nice casual stroll down the hallway, intent on spending the day at the library with every good book she could find. Too bad for her, she was not going to be able to avoid people forever. Lucky for her, they did not stop her to chat for long. "Hey Blake," Sun called out. "Happy birthday."

"Thanks Sun," Blake nodded back, only to pause when she noticed something off about his statement. "Wait a minute. How'd he know it was my birthday today?"

Before she could turn around to chase after Sun, Lea came stomping past, still a little miffed about her interferences the other day. He did still manage a small smile even as he grumbled. "Hey, happy birthday, Blake. Or whatever."

"Thanks Lea," Blake replied, though now she was not sure if she should be more surprised that he also knew it was her birthday or that he even wished her a happy one.

The surprises continued on when Pyrrha and Jaune came from around the corner and the latter called out, "Oh, Blake! Happy birthday!"

"Yes, I do hope you enjoy it to the fullest," Pyrrha added on.

"Thanks Pyrrha," Blake smiled back. She was a little surprised that even Jaune knew too, but considering how honest and nice the two well-wishes were, she could not help but smile in thanks.

The only downside was that she was not able to ask them how they knew, but she would soon have another target to ask. Several targets, actually, as Ren, Nora, Coco, Velvet, Ventus, Aqua, Xion, Terra, and even Winter all wished her a happy birthday when they saw her. Too bad they had all left before she could question any of them as to how they knew it was her birthday. It was not until she finally encountered Sora that she got her answers.

"Hey-ya Blake! Happy birthday!" Sora waved in greeting.

"Thanks Sora, but I'm honestly more confused than happy right now," Blake quickly admitted, getting Sora's attention with her words. "How does everyone seem to know it's my birthday today? I never said anything about it just to make sure it would end up as some big, crazy occasion."

"Yeah, we kinda figured. That's why we all made sure Ruby didn't try to throw you a surprise party," Sora revealed. After Blake's nod of thanks for this he then added on, "As for how we all knew, Yang sent out us all a massive group text telling us it was today, and that she would be up anyone who bothered you about it too much."

"I see. Is that why I saw her beating up Cardin a couple hours ago?" Blake could not help but ask.

"Kinda-sorta," Sora hedged in response. "She overheard him making various plans that would've completely ignored her warning, and from what I hear, it was going to be something that would've made you really upset. I don't know exactly what, but well, it is Cardin."

"Mm, true," Blake granted. She let a small smile slip onto her face as she added, "That's really sweet of Yang to do that though. I'll have to thank her the next time I see her. Assuming she's not still beating up Cardin."

"Yeah that might be a while then," Sora shrugged, seeing as last he saw, Yang had been beating up Cardin for quite a while and she had only just started using her gauntlets. "Also, just a heads up: we weren't able to stop anyone from getting you a cake, so…"

"Hey, I don't mind that," Blake assured him. "As long as it's nothing too fancy I'm fine with whatever."

"Uh…would this be a bad time to mention Weiss was the one who got the cake?" Sora questioned.

Knowing Weiss likely got some really fancy cake, Blake had to pause and consider this for a few seconds before she ultimately shrugged and replied, "As long as she didn't ask Nora to do it again."

"Yeah, you don't have to worry about that. Weiss made it very clear she learned her lesson after last time," Sora promised her.

Blake nodded in thanks for this and then proceeded to bid Sora goodbye for now so she could get to the library. Sure, she knew to expect a tasty treat when she got back to her dorm, but knowing what her friends and teammates did for her to make her birthday special and peaceful felt really good. Hence why she spent the rest of the day smiling like the cat that got the cream.

AN: Not a bad line-up huh? Well of course I was gonna have Blake win every round of this first battle in the Ship Wars; I mean, why would I let her lose on her birthday of all days? That'd be just mean.

Lea: Could've at least let me get one win in.

AN: No we couldn't. [spares a quick glance at the pyro before whispering] Of course, part of me really enjoyed the fact Blake managed to bribe Roxas into helping her thwart his best friend like that. Bet no one saw that coming, did they?

Lea: What was that?

AN: Moving on! Yeah, the second skit is partly inspired by that one where people confused Blake for one of her shadow clones. At least this time around it actually was her. She was just really wrapped up in her reading. Boy do I know what that kind of thing is like. I'm sure many other book lovers can agree with this too.

That last one...yeah, not too much but I really just wanted to do a nice wholesome thing. Sure, there was a bit of a comedic spin on things with the mention of Yang beating up Cardin, but otherwise totally wholesome. And definitely seems like something the canon version of Yang would do for Blake.

Ruby: Yep.

Sora: Definitely agree with that.

Weiss: She most certainly would.

Ventus: One hundred percent agree.

AN: Now with all that said, let's move on to a review answer or two before wrapping things up.

Firstly, "Darkmaster10000000", what do you think my stage hands were doing while I was on vacation? Working overtime? Also, I gotta ask, what garden and orchard? They never went into that place? Heck, even if the thing still went off, it would have been well removed from places like that. Right guys?

Stage Hand Chief: Yeah, boss. You can even check our body cams and see for yourself.

AN: Okay, let see here. [checks body cam footage and finds only what stage hand chief said he would find] Yeah, you may want to look into some other parties that may have been responsible. My money's on...well, I think we all know who my money's on. [coughs] Deadpool.

"Monkey D. Conan", that's not a bad idea. I'll have to think about that and see what I can do with it later on down the line. Thanks for that suggestion and I'm glad you liked the skits.

"Dragon Rider 66", yeah you may want to consider changing that, or at least reading some of the reviews for the other DC stuff. Spoiler alert, most of them are not positive. Glad you enjoyed those takes on the Looney Tunes skits. Also, in regards to your guesses about who Evil Sora's queen of darkness was, no it wasn't Kairi. Keep in mind, his Kairi has been dead for a long time now. At least from his perspective she has been. And Namine was well and firmly with the Guardians of Light, small their numbers may be. Only other thing I'm going to say is that the person in question is not a blonde.

"Twilightnite13", you know, I hadn't really considered that as anything other than a reaction fic, but if it does have the potential for comedic purposes here, I may just try and use that suggestion. Thanks for the idea.

Well, I'd say that's a wrap for now, so until next time...

What wacky adventures will come next? Who can say for sure? After all, it's all just a bunch of fun and games when you go chibi, and there's no way to know for sure just what will entail along the way.
