"Did you get the homework done?"

"…Done is a word…"

The pink-haired girl pinched the bridge of her nose before placing them back on her keyboard, frantically typing what seemed to be lines of code.

"Now who am I supposed to copy off?!"

"You could've just, y'know, done it yourself?"

Crosshair eyes rolled as the pink-headed girl reached toward his desk, grabbing a chip from the open bag resting atop it.

"You know I suck at English."

"So that means you have to copy off of me?"

The girl briefly halted her one-handed typing/eating combo to stare blankly at her friend.

"What did I say?"

"Izuku. You're literally fluent in English. Why wouldn't I copy off of you?"

Opening his mouth to retort, the green head quickly closed it after a few seconds.

He couldn't really deny that logic.

"I guess that makes sense."

Silence fell between the two, the space being filled with nothing save for the low chatter of their classmates and the rhythmic pressing of Mei's keyboard.

Before Izuku ended that silence.

"I do your English and you do my math?"

"Deal."

"Watcha workin' on?"

"My new power source."

"The one that uses the energy leftover from quirk usage?"

"The very same."

An amazed sigh escaped the teen's lips as he popped open a bag of sun chips, offering some to his friend.

Mei one-handedly took the offer, the other being used to fervently sketch designs in a beat-up notebook, blank pages becoming scarcer and scarcer.

"I gotta admit, I'm kinda jealous of you, Mei."

The admission briefly caused her to stop her work, golden eyes widening as they shot to her friend.

"What are you talking about? What brought this on?"

"I-I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. It's just, you're so smart, and you have big plans for the future and I don't know if I'll be able to keep up-"

"Shut up, Midoriya."

Emerald eyes widened at the use of his last name, the shock amplified ten-fold upon seeing the frustration building upon his friend's face.

"W-Was it something I said-"

"I said shut up. You're coming to UA with me and we're gonna make loads of babies and take over the support market then make loads of money to use on even more babies."

Any form of apprehension or doubt left on the teens face melted away, being replaced by a calm smile that warmed the space around them.

"Yeah, you're right. Sorry for being weird."

"How many of you know what you plan to do post Jr. High?"

The moment the question was finished, the class erupted into shouts, almost all of them declaring a single, grand, goal.

To be a hero.

"I'm going to be a hero. And not just any hero but the strongest hero! Even stronger than All Might!"

The deceleration from the blonde to the right of Izuku drew a reaction of quiet murmurs of hushed speculation.

"Even better than All Might?"

"I mean, his quirk is really strong."

"Yeah. If anyone would be able to surpass All Might, it'd be Bakugou."

Rising from his seat, the blonde stuck on an arrogant grin, ruby red eyes scanning his surrounding class.

"That's right! If anyone is gonna be the next number-one hero it'll be me! And the first step on that path is UA."

The mention of the legendary high school peaked the teacher's interest, inspiring him to look at the intended pathway sheets from the middle of the school year.

"Ah, it seems Hatsume and Midoriya intend to attend UA as well. Seems you'll have friends there, Bakugou."

"Goddamm it."

Fueled by ire, the blonde walked his way up to the latter of the names listed, ruby-red eyes narrowed.

"I hope he didn't say what I think he just said."

"That you'll have friends? Yeah, crazy I know."

The retort came out as little more than a mumble but the fact that the greenette was responding at all was enough to further irritate the blonde.

"What did you say Deku?"

"Nothing."

Bringing his power to life, Katsuki slammed his right palm on the wood, singing the desk while using his left to grab the greenette's collar.

"Listen to me. If you even dream about becoming anything other than the quirkless pebble you are, then I'll make sure all you can do is dream."

Emerald met ruby as the two teens glared at each other, neither willing to concede an inch to the other.

"Let him go, Bakugou."

The aforementioned boy snapped his head toward the interruption, a growl rumbling on his lips.

"Or what?"

Mei only rolled her eyes before resting a hand on the blonde's arm.

"Just stop. You're making a scene for no reason."

The teen only shrugged his shoulder, the force from it pushing the girl to the ground.

Once more, murmurs flooded the classroom as students watched the scene unfold before them.

"Mei!"

Raising his right hand, Izuku wrapped it over the blonde's left, peeling away the grip Katsuki had over him.

Then, with his hand still controlling the blonde's wrist, Izuku stood before throwing his former friends limb to the side, nearly dislocating it.

"Are you alright, Mei?"

Izuku crouched low over his friend, scanning her for any injuries she may have gotten from the rough fall she took.

"I feel alright-"

Before her thought could come to a close, the greenette standing over her spun on his heel, using his right hand to slap away a fist heading for the back of his skull.

A collective gasp rang out in the classroom as the surrounding student body watched their resident quirkless nobody block a blow from the strongest in their school.

"Dodge this one bastard!"

Rearing his fist back, Katsuki lashed out with a wild right hook, the force of it seemingly enough to behead his opponent.

But it never landed.

Izuku stepped into the blonde's guard while wrapping his arms around the ferocious punch.

He then turned 160 degrees while propping Katsuki up before throwing the boy over his hips.

Another bout of disbelief rang through the crowd as they watched their champion struggle to stand after the throw, a bit of blood leaking from the back of his head.

"I'll…I'll KILL you!"

Throwing his hands behind him, Katsuki flared his quirk, propelling him forward toward his opponent.

In that same instance, the greenette turned his back to the explosive teen, crouching down before jumping upward-

And backflipping over his former friend.

Then, before Katsuki could properly comprehend the dodge, Izuku ran full sprint before jumping-

And drop-kicking Katsuki out of the window.
