Here we go. Flying through the uploads to get in the start of the show, where Rick reunited with Lori and Carl.

Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead, just my ocs and plotlines.

Jeremy's PoV

Jeremy walks over to Rick.

"Welcome to the group. Bunch of rag tags. And Merle."

Rick chuckles. "It's nice."

But Jeremy doesn't believe him one bit.

"God, it's like Times Square down there." Andrea points out, looking down at the streets of Atlanta. Jeremy takes a look, seeing swarms upon swarms of geeks.

"This is fantastic." Jeremy mutters. "Never been to New York. It was on mine and Callie's list of places to go."

"Really?" Andrea looks at him and he nods.

"Yeah. But we were always worried about prices of hotels. Guess we don't have to worry now." Jeremy jokes and Andrea snorts.

"Free holiday."

"How's that signal?" Morales speaks up and they all look to T-Dog, who's sitting against the wall. Like they originally planned to do but we're interrupted by Merle shooting the place up.

"Like Dixon's brain. Weak."

Jeremy snorts.

"What ya laughin' at jackass."

"You." He retorts and Merle clenches his jaw.

"Keep trying." Morales urges.

Andrea scoffs. "Why? There's nothing that they can do. Not a damn thing."

That's true.

"Got some people outside the city is all. There's no refugee center. That's a pipe dream." Morales explains to Rick, who nods in understanding, but Jeremy could tell it is weighing in on him.

"Then she's right. We're on our own. It's up to us to find a way out."

"How?" Jeremy asks him. But before he could answer, Merle jumps in.

"Good luck with that. These streets ain't safe in this part of town from what I hear." Merle jokes and they all give him a look which he ignores. "Ain't that right, sugar tits?" He looks at Andrea. "Hey, honeybunch, whatcha say you get me out of these cuffs, we go off somewhere and bump some uglies? Gonna die anyway."

Andrea doesn't look up from the bag that she's digging into. "I'd rather."

"Rug muncher. I figured as much."

Andrea just ignores the insults.

"The streets ain't safe. Now there's an understatement." Morale shakes his head.

"Of the century." Jeremy adds and Morales nods at him.

Rick cocks his head. "What about under the streets? The sewers?"

We all look at each other.

"Oh man. Hey, Glenn, check the alley. You see any manhole covers?" Morales asks him and he runs to the edge of the roof, leaning over to look.

"No, must be all out on the street where the geeks are."

"Shit." Jeremy mutters, rubbing his hands down his face.

"Maybe not." Jacqui speaks up and everyone looks at her surprised. "Old buildings like this built in the 20s... big structures often had drainage tunnels into the sewers in case of flooding down in the sub basements"

"How do you know that?" Glenn voices for everyone.

"It's my job. Was. I worked in the city zoning office."

Callie's PoV

Callie looks at Josie who has been scrubbing furiously at a pair of jeans that have been scrubbed before.

"What did he say?" Callie asks the woman who finally stops scrubbing the pair of jeans and puts them aside. Connor has got half the load of laundry and is doing some as well.

"He's not staying with us anymore. That's what I told him. He just got mad for no reason at all." Josie hisses and grabs another piece of clothing and scrubs furiously at it.

"He's not staying in the tent?" Connor asks his mother and she looks at him. Contemplating for a moment to say something.

"Nope. He can find another place to sleep. I'll tell Maya that dad is staying with someone else."

"Why don't you tell her the truth? She deserves to know." Callie says and she stops scrubbing and finally looks at Callie.

"If I tell her the truth. It'll crush her."

Callie picks up Daryl's sleeveless top. "She's stronger than you think. Just by living in this world."

"You don't know her." Josie snaps and Callie nods her head.

"No I don't. But anyone that hasn't off themselves or not moping around... they're strong enough for the truth."

Jeremy's PoV

They look down the sewer entrance. Very dark. Dangerous.

"This is it? Are you sure?" Morales asks Glenn who nods his head.

"I really scoped this place out the other times I was here. It's the only thing in the building that goes down. But I've never gone down it. Who'd want to, right?" Everyone looks at him and he realises. Him is the one who is going down it. "Oh. Great."

"We'll be right behind you." Andrea assures him.

Glenn snaps. "No, you won't. Not you."

Andrea narrows her eyes at him. "Why not me? Think I can't."

Glenn's eyes widen. "I- I wasn't-

"Speak your mind." Rick coaxes him.

Jeremy realises that Rick is a good leader. He wants everyone's opinions, ideas. Let's them have a choice to voice what they're thinking.

Glenn takes a breath. "Look, until now I always came here by myself... in and out, grab a few things. No problem. The first time I bring a group... everything goes to hell. No offense. If you want me to go down this gnarly hole, fine... but only if we do it my way. It's tight down there. If I run into something and have to get out quick, I don't want you all jammed up behind me getting me killed. I'll take one person-" Rick steps up. "Not you either. You got Merle's gun and I've seen you shoot. I'd feel better if you were out in that store watching those doors, covering our ass." Glenn looks to both me and Andrea. "You two have the only other guns. Go with him." Glenn looks to Morales. "You be my wingman. Jacqui stays here. Something happens, yell down to us, get us back up here in a hurry."

Jacqui nods. "Okay."

Rick smiles. "Okay. Everybody knows their jobs."

Glenn goes down with Morales, while Jeremy, Andrea and Rick go to the store.

"Sorry for the gun in your face." Andrea apologises to Rick.

Rick smiles. "People do things when they're afraid."

"Not that it was entirely unjustified. You did get us into this." Andrea points out.

"That's true." Jeremy mutters and the pair laugh.

"If I get us out, would that make up for it?" Rick offers.

"No." Andrea mutters and finally looks at Rick. "But it'd be a start."

Rick nods. "Next time though, take the safety off. It won't shoot otherwise."

Andrea goes red. "Oh."

"That's why you were calm towards the end." Jeremy mutters and Rick nods.

"Yeah. Is that your gun?" Rick points to Andrea. She hands it to Rick.

"It was a gift. Why?"

He points to the gun. "The little red dot means it's ready to fire." He hands it back to her. "You may have occasion to use it."

Jeremy untucks his gun, ready, in case anything happens.

Andrea nods. "Good to know."

Andrea walks away towards the jewellery. "Oh."

"See something you like?" Rick asks her.

Jeremy sees a mermaid necklace on the counter. Andrea shakes her head. "Not me, but I know someone who would." Rick looks at her. "My sister. She's still such a kid in some ways. Unicorns, dragons... she's into all that stuff. But mermaids... they rule. She loves mermaids."

"Why not take it?" Rick offers.

Andrea pulls a face. "There's a cop staring at me." Rick chuckles. "Would it be considered looting?"

"I don't think those rules apply anymore. Do you?"

Andrea smiles in response and takes it.

"Is it her birthday soon?" Jeremy asks her and she nods her head.

"Yeah. I want to give this to her. She will be 21."

Jeremy smiles. "Good birthday present. Give her a bottle of alcohol too since she can't go out drinking."

Rick chuckles. "Best way to go about it."

Glass shatters and they all whip around to the door, guns up. Everyone else joins them.

"What did you find down there?" Rick asks them, desperately.

"Not a way out." Morales responds and Jeremy curses, lowering his gun.

"We need to find a way. Soon."

Those doors won't hold forever.

They were back on the roof, Rick looking down the streets with a pair of binoculars.

"That construction site, those trucks... They always keep keys on hand."

Morales looks through the binoculars and shakes his head. "You'll never make it past the walkers."

Rick turns to Glenn. "You got me out of that tank."

"Yeah, but they were feeding. They were distracted." Glenn reminds him and he nods his head.

"Can we distract them again?"

"We could." Jeremy puts in.

"Right. Listen to him. He's onto something. A diversion, like on 'Hogan's Heroes'."

Jacqui shakes her head and snaps at him. "God. Give it a rest."

"They're drawn by sound, right?" Rick asks us and we all nod.

"Right, like dogs. They hear a sound, they come." Glenn tells him.

"What else?" Rick questions. Has this guy ever been outside?

"Aside from they hear you?" Morales double checks, and Rick nods. "They see you, smell you, and if they catch you, they eat you."

"They can tell us by smell?" Rick asks bewildered.

"Can't you?" Glenn exclaims.

"They smell dead, we don't. It's pretty distinct." Andrea points out.

Rick stands there for a moment, a looking washing over his face and Jeremy looks at him curiously.

"I have an idea." He announces and they all look to him. "We'll smell like the dead."

Whoo! We're getting somewhere, I forgot how the beginning was a little slow but it picks up. I didn't want to put too much in the chapters otherwise they would be pretty long, so I'm stretching them out.
