"So much to do and so little time..." Melon said as he walked down the shore with the lions coming right behind him. "So much to get ready in time for the Meat Appreciation Day." He then chuckled. "Well, after this year, it will be known as Day of Havoc, no? So, you contacted the guy on the power plant? The one who can arrange for us to have the energy on the whole city cut at night?"

"Yes." Dolph said with no emotion. "He is still hesitant about the plan. Afraid of the consequences if he gets caught... and for the city."

Melon scoffed to that.

"Be sure to tell that wimp that he better grow a pair of balls if he doesn't wants to lose way more than just his balls." Melon said drily, as he adjusted his mask on his face. He was about to go back to the city, after all, he preferred not to have everyone staring at him as he went.

"If he still refuses to man up, then we will just do to him the same we did to the wolf and get someone else to do it."

To that, the lions all shared looks.

They knew for a fact their boss was not kidding. He would truly get rid of anyone who he thought was getting on the way of his plan.

He did it to some of them as well.

Some of them were glad that, this time, he did it to someone who they didn't liked. That wolf was the blame for what happened to their first boss, after all.

Some, however, were a bit sorry for the wolf.

We would never have met Louis if it wasn't for him... Agatha caught himself thinking. Besides, dying under the water? That's the worst thing I can imagine happening to someone. We felines would rather never been born than end like that...

As he thought that, Agatha looked at the beach, at the sea, and wondered if he was too scared while all alone in the dark and cold... depths... wait.

"W-wha...!?" Agatha said, stopping dead on his tracks and staring.

His sudden, surprised voice caused the other lions to stop and look as well, and soon they were just as surprised.

"Huh?" Melon said, turning to see all the lions had stopped. "Hey, what gives?"

The lions didn't answer. They only continued to stare at the beach.

It was Free who lifted a hand, pointing at the shore. At this, Melon followed his finger and saw what they were all guffawing at.

"Are you kidding me?" Melon asked himself as he saw the familiar form coming out of the water.

Legoshi stared straight at him as he made his way out of the waves, before dashing straight towards him.

"Melon!" The wolf cried as he reached towards him. Towards that animal who intended to eat the woman he loved. He just ran towards him, with his clothes and fur soaked and weighing him down as he went towards Melon, who was already reaching for the gun inside of his clothes, when Dolph charged forward.

Legoshi was propelled back by the force of the punch he got, which caused blood to leak from his nose. Next thing he knew, he was being held against the sand by a bunch of lions, one of which had a gun pointed right to his forehead, cocking the hammer back and letting the wolf know he would pull the trigger at any moment.

"You know, you are a pain in the ass, aren't you?" Melon asked to the wolf, giving a few steps in direction to him as his lions continued to hold him down. "And not the type of pain I can enjoy!"

Legoshi growled at this, trying to fight the lions only to be held down harder.

"I have no idea how you managed to free yourself, but maybe it's my fault for wanting to make it fancy." Melon said, "Let's just get this over with the old-fashioned way. Kill him and eat the corpse. Let's make some ornaments out of the bones."

Melon was giving this order to his lions, who all knew they had no choice but to obey.

Melon was their boss, after all, as despicable as they all considered him. So, if he told them to kill and eat the wolf, that's what they were going to do.

"Sorry about that, kid." Dolph said, "You are quite something, to be honest."

And he was getting ready to pull the trigger.

No. That was all that Legoshi could think. I will not die here. I will not. I... His fists squeezed. Legoshi felt something surging inside of him while, by the shore, the waves started getting more violent.

I will save Haru!

Suddenly, the waves came forward, as if the sea itself was suddenly invading the land.

"What the-!?" Was all that Dolph had time to say before him and the other lions got swept by a powerful wave, which washed them off Legoshi while somehow missing the wolf entirely.

"W-what was that!?" Free said, spitting out salt water as he got up from the sand, along with the others. Legoshi, however, was already back on his feet, and glaring at them while baring his fangs.

"H-hey! What are you idiots doing!?" Melon demanded. "Get him!"

And some of the lions obeyed, as they were charging at the wolf again. However, just as they did...

"Get out of my way!" Legoshi said and, with a movement of his arms that felt as instinctive as breathing, he caused two streams of water to move from the water behind him.

NEW ABILITY SKILL UNLOCKED: TIDE MASTER

The streams of water washed the lions even further away from Legoshi, who then turned his attention to Melon.

The hybrid, normally so in control (or pretending to be) all the time, now had an expression of pure bafflement on his face.

"What the fu-" Melon tried to say, but he didn't had time to finish, because that was when Legoshi, with a motion of his arms, caused the streams of water to converge to Melon, hitting him and entrapping him into a huge sphere of seawater.

Legoshi looked at him as the hybrid, confused and holding his breath, looked from side to side while trapped inside of the sphere, trying to understand what was happening. However, the wolf was not about to give him this chance.

"Swim forth!" Legoshi said in Seaspeak. As he did, the two sharks who freed him swam up the streams of water, all the way to the sphere of water where Melon was.

"Shred him!"

Under this command, the sharks attacked. Melon could do nothing as the sharks both charged at him.

They bit at him.

Bite after bite, they attacked. Each bite sinking deep into his skin and flesh, breaking his bones and ripping pieces of him. His arms were both severed at bites. His legs were also bitten off. And his torso was shredded by jaws clamping around his stomach and chest.

Melon was torn apart by those sharks' jaws. The water he was into growing redder and redder with the hybrid's blood, while the lions all watched in astonishment.

"B-boss..." Agatha managed to say. Meanwhile, Legoshi continued to glare at the carnage before him, his mind focused on the fact that this man wanted to kill Haru. That he wanted to eat her. That he was going to tear her to shreds like... like...

Like the sharks were doing to him.

"N-no... Stop! Stop!"

Legoshi's command came too late. The sharks stopped, but there was little left to tear apart anymore. Melon had been reduced to shredded limbs and scattered body parts, all of them floating in suspension on water that had been so filled with blood that it had become red.

Legoshi looked at it, his rage vanishing and being replaced by horror at what had been done to the hybrid.

At what he had ordered to be done to him.

As the feeling of dread settled, Legoshi stepped back. He could not believe he had done it. He could not believe he actually... that he had actually...

PROCESS SUCESSFUL

That sudden voice made the wolf stop.

"Wait, what?"

UNIQUE ABILITY ACQUIRED: BLOODY KING

"W-wait a minute!" Legoshi perked.

RESTORING BODY NOW...

Then Legoshi, along with the lions, watched in shock as, in front of their very eyes, Melon's mangled body started reassembling.

His shredded torso reformed as the pieces came and meshed together. His severed limbs, including his head, reattached seamlessly to his body, while the red of the water vanished as the blood flowed back into the hybrid's body.

Legoshi was so shocked that the ball of water decomposed, causing Melon's body to drop into the sand. It was completely reformed at this point.

RESTORING VITALS

At that moment, Melon's body twitched. Then, he started coughing.

He scrambled to his hands and knees, coughing and spluttering as he vomited a mixture of water and blood into the sand.

After nearly two minutes, the hybrid was done coughing, and then he finally got up to his knees, sitting on his haunches as he stared forward. Not at Legoshi. His gaze was... at the distance.

"B-boss?" Agatha asked, to what the hybrid turned his head to look at him.

"W-what just happened?"

Melon stared at the lion for a moment, before saying, seeming in shock himself:

"I just had a conversation with a tyrannosaur..."

At that moment, one of the sharks attacked again.

He had loved the taste of the hybrid. So much that now he wanted to take another bite. He barely even minded that the hybrid he and his sister killed had somehow just came back to life. He had long learned not to question anything when he was hungry.

So, he jumped out of the stream of water and clamped his jaws on Melon's torso.

The attack came as a surprise, and it caused Melon to look at the shark with teeth around his middle.

Then, his expression turned annoyed.

"Cut it out." Melon said and, much like Legoshi, he acted I pure instinct.

Suddenly, the shark's head was pierced by several spikes that seemed to sprout out of the very spot where he was bitten, going through the fish' skull and brain.

After this, the shark just dropped to the ground, as the spikes softened and turned into a fluid, which floated near Melon's wound.

Legoshi was in shock, but even so he could still pick up the smell coming from that liquid, and it made his nose tickle...

"W-wait... i-is that..."

Meanwhile, Melon looked at this crimson liquid near his wound, which had turned into sharp spikes moments ago, and he came to the same conclusion as Legoshi:

Is that my blood?

"Brother!" The female shark yelled in Seaspeak, before jumping out of her own stream and charging at Melon herself, her jaws wide and ready for the kill.

This time, however, Melon saw her coming, and he once more reacted by pure instinct.

The skin on the back of his right arm suddenly ruptured as his blood forced its way out, stretching and solidifying into a long and thing blade, which Melon swung into the shark, slicing clean through her.

She fell into the sand, cut in half, and twitched for a moment before going still as her own blood soaked the sand.

Melon blinked, looking at the blade of blood on his arm, which them softened and turned back into liquid blood, which kept floating near the wound. Melon looked at it for a moment, alternating between staring at his arm and then staring at the two dead sharks at his feet.

Two big and strong sharks. Big predators who could kill and eat anything they wanted, Melon himself included.

And Melon killed them easily with his own blood.

Slowly, a smirk opened on his muzzle. Then, he started snickering. It turned into chuckling. And eventually it grew into a full-blown maniacal laughter, so hard that Melon caught himself clutching his stomach as he was laughing so hard.

"W-what the fuck!?" Dolph finally blurted out after watching in disbelief like everyone else, including Legoshi. "W-what the hell is happening here!?"

"I have no idea!" Melon said, a crazed smirk on his face as the blood flowed back to the wound on his arm, which intently closed as if it was never even there.

"But I'm loving it!"
