Ch 22 A Terrible Situation

Meanwhile back in the Dark Lands Scar was getting anxious. These last few months had been trying for the brown coated lion. But in the end he had some success. The King of the Dark Lands, Alamine had taken ill and had passed away. Unfortunately this illness had also taken the lives of his mate Vumbi and their only son Giza. Giza's mate Akali survived and she had delivered their son, Chaka two months ago. Scar had been acting as King since Alamine and his son had taken ill and he was enjoying his recent power. "Zira!" Scar thundered.

"Yes Scar?" Zira said, running up to her mate with Cala and Shida right behind her. Nguvu and Hai were right behind their mothers but they kept their distance.

"What do you think the old bag of bones wants now?" Nguvu whispered in Hai's ear. Hai chuckled softly.

"Beats me," Hai whispered back. "But it can't be anything good." Just then Cala loudly cleared her throat and shook her head, signaling Hai to be quiet. So the rusty brown young lioness was silent and she snuggled into Nguvu's grey fur and listened to what Scar was saying.

"The time has come Zira," Scar was saying. "My idiot nephew's brats are a year old now. Which means his brat daughter will be going for her first hunt. I want her brought to me!"

"As you wish Scar," Zira said with a bow. Then she turned towards Cala and Shida and snarled, "Take your brats into the Pride Lands and bring Simba's daughter here!"

"And make sure she's alive," Scar ordered. "Kill anyone that gets in your way but bring the girl to me! Zira you go with them! I don't want any fowl ups!"

"As you wish Scar," Zira said with a bow

"Yes Scar," Cala and Shida said, dipping their heads in submission. "Come Nguvu you heard what Scar said," Shida said, her voice having no emotion to it.

"What?!" Nguvu cried out, his blue eyes wide. "Mom you can't be serious. There's no way I'm getting involved in kidnapping the Princess of the Pride Lands!"

"We have no choice," Shida said, keeping her voice low.

"Maybe you don't," Nguvu said. "But I sure as Hell do! I refuse to go along with this!"

"Me either!" Hai declared, her voice coming our high pitched. Then she turned towards Cala and locked her light brown eyes with her mother's chocolate brown ones. "Mom please tell me you're not ok with this insanity!"

"Keep your voice down," Cala hissed, darting her eyes towards Scar, who was staring directly at them. "This is the way it has to be. Or it'll be the death of all of us!"

"Mom please," Hai tried again.

"Let's go!" Zira snarled. "Now!" With that Cala and Shida followed Zira and the other lionesses with a reluctant Hai and Nguvu right behind them.

Meanwhile back in the Pride Lands Kiara, Vitani and Asha were all looking for some prey. They didn't have to look far because they soon came across a lost gazelle. "Perfect," Kiara whispered, getting low to the ground, doing her best not to make a sound. The gazelle began to move and Kiara slinked towards it, being careful not to rustle any rocks that were on the ground. Vitani and Asha followed at a distance just to make sure she was safe. Kiara stalked her prey until it stopped again. Then she waited for the right moment and she pounced. After a short chase Kiara was able to successfully take down the gazelle.

"Yeah! Way to go Kiara!" Vitani cheered as she and Asha emerged from the brush.

"Whew thanks guys," Kiara said as she dropped the gazelle on the ground. "Mind if I rest a bit before we head back?"

"Sure thing Ki'," Asha said with a smile. With that the three lionesses sat and chatted for a bit before deciding to head back. Kiara picked up her kill and followed her friends back. But they weren't walking for long when they heard rustling. Kiara stopped and put her kill on the ground and sniffed the air. She failed to notice that Vitani and Asha hadn't stopped walking.

"Hello?' Kiara called out. "Anyone there? Hel.." Just then a paw reached out from the bushes and covered Kiara's mouth and another paw pulled her into the bushes.

"Shh!" Nguvu hissed in Kiara's ear as he fought to keep the struggling Princess still. "If you want to live then I suggest you stop struggling!"

"Listen to him Princess," Hai said coming up beside Nguvu. "We really don't want to hurt you but we will if we have to."

"I'm going to take my paw off your mouth," Nguvu said. "But I'm warning you right now Princess if you scream I'll give you somethin' to scream about. Got it?' Kiara nodded and Nguvu slowly removed his paw from her mouth.

"Who are you guys?" Kiara demanded, trying to keep her voice from shaking. "What do you want?"

"Who they are isn't important," Zira said, coming onto the scene along with the rest of the lionesses.

"Zira!' Kiara gasped, her amber eyes wide.

"You're coming with us Princess," Zira declared. "Scar has special plans for you."

"No!" Kiara cried out, unable to keep the terror out of her voice. "Help! Vitani! Asha! Help!'

"Shut her up!" Cala hissed.

"Gladly!' Shida snarled, raising her paw and hitting Kiara hard on her head, knocking her out.

"Let's go!" Zira commanded. With that Nguvu put the unconsious Kiara on his back and began the long walk back to the Dark Lands. Little did they know that Zazu had been flying overhead and had seen the whole thing and had flown back to Pride Rock to tell Simba what he had seen.

TLKTLKTLK

Zazu flew as fast as he could towards Pride Rock but before he got there he saw Vitani and Asha looking for Kiara. "Miss Vitani!' Zazu cried out, swooping down towards the two lionesses. "Miss Asha! You must hurry! The Princess is in grave danger!"

"What happened?!" Vitani cried out, alarmed at Zazu's tone.

"Zira and her lionesses have taken the Princess!" Zazu cried out. "They intend to take her back to Scar!"

"What?!" Vitani and Asha cried out, their eyes wide with both horror and worry.

"They're heading towards the Dark Lands!" Zazu informed the duo. "You must hurry! I'm getting the King right now!" With that Zazu flew back towards Pride Rock while Vitani and Asha raced to help Kiara, all three of them hoping they wouldn't be to late to save the young Princess.

TLKTLKTLK

Meanwhile Zira and her minions had reached the Grassland border that lead into the Outlands. "Whew I need a break," Nguvu panted, putting the still unconsious Kiara on the ground.

"We can't take a break fool!" Zira said, striking Nguvu in his face.

"Don't you dare hit my son!" Shida cried out, getting in Zira's face.

"Then teach him to follow orders!' Zira snarled.

"Hey she's heavy!" Nguvu piped up. "If you think it's so easy then why don't you carry her yourself?!"

"Uh guys?" Hai said, nodding towards Kiara, who was stirring. Zira let out a snarl and hit Kiara once again knocking her out.

"Lets go!" Zira roared, picking Kiara up and dragging her onto her back.

"You're not going anywhere!" a voice roared. Zira and her followers jumped as Kovu and Nuka jumped in front of them.

"Drop her Zira!" Kovu snarled, glaring at his mother. "Or so help me it won't be pretty!"

"Or don't," Nuka snarled. "Please don't Mother. I would love the chance to rip you to shreds!"

"Try it!" Zira growled, dropping Kiara hard on the ground. "We will rip the both of you apart!"

"Bring it on you old bag!" Nuka snarled. With that Kovu and Nuka charged towards Zira and her followers all of them out for blood.
