In the Northwind kingdom, Queen Andromeda were preparing for the birth of her heir. She hoped that she gave birth to a male, which isn't her idea. Mating with Orson wasn't exactly her idea but she knows her mate's type.
Sexist, only thinking that males should be sole rulers. Northwind didn't think like that, much like their northern allies, the Tree of Life. Females are sole sovereigns and their mates are consorts.
The greyish-beige lioness stood before exiting the large cave that was built into the base of a mountain. She headed down a path and into the forest before lying down in the marked cave she already found and showed Orson.
Taking deep breaths, her pale stomach rising and falling. Andromeda closed her black eyes before pushing as a loud painful roar erupted from her throat.
"Andromeda,"
Queen Andromeda opened her eyes to see that Orson had made it. She smiled lightly before her black rimmed ears flickered at the sound of growling.
"What is that?!" Orson growled lowly his purplish eyes locked on the mewing infant.
Andromeda looked at the cub too that had crawled to nurse. The infant was covered in brownish fur, it had a tiny backwards brownish tuff on it's head much like the greyish-beige backwards tuff on her head.
But overall, the new royal cub was a female.
Andromeda sighed deeply before looking up at her very angry mate. "I know you're displeased... but I will try again for your son. Just let her live, please!"
Orson growled as he narrowed his eyes at his daughter. "Then she'll be heir!" then something clicked as he remembered something. He took a deep breath before smiling. "Okay. But when the time comes, she will be betrothed and that's final!"
Andromeda didn't want her daughter to go through the same thing she did but it the betrothal or have her daughter killed.
"Who do you have in mind?"
Orson looked from his mate to his daughter and grinned. "The young king of the Stormlands, King Nakul.."

The Pridelands
Before everyone's eyes the time came and it was time for Duchess Arcadia to go in labour.
It something that Queen Nala serectly wished didn't happen. But her prayers wasn't answer, instead she's forced to sit in the nursery den with her mother and mother-in-law while they tend to the bit older lioness.
The tawny lioness must of zoned out because her ears perked at the sound of cub mews.
"Aww, he's gorgeous." Sarafina cooed before turning her blue eyes on her daughter. "Nala, honey! Come see the pride's newset member."
The queen inhaled and exhaled before walking over from the corner she was in to the middle of the cave. Lying by the new mother's side was a pale cream cub.
Nala frowned as Simba entered to see his cub. The gold lion smiled lovingly at his son before nuzzling the cooing infant.
Nala felt a vile feeling rise as she watched her mate with his second family. With a growl, she stood and stalked out of the cave.
...
A Week Later
The sun had started to rise as a soft breeze went through the Pride Lands. Animals lifted their heads before heading towards pride rock.
Rafiki stood on the peak of pride rock calling the animals with a spiritual chant.
Ubukhosi bo khokho
We ndodana ye sizwe sonke
Rafiki looked up and smiled at the image of Mufasa in the sun. The gold spirit smiled down at the mandrill and watched Simba and Nala approach.
The tawny queen held a gold cub in her mouth. Rafiki bowed before grabbing the heir and raised her for the kingdom.
Mufasa smiled brightly down at the princess. The future queen swatted at the features and dust that her grandfather sent blowing her way.
Simba looked up from his subjects and smiled at the sight of his father. The gold lion in the sun smiled at his son as he sent a breeze the king's way.
Simba leaned into the breeze as it felt like a loving embrace. Opening his orange eyes he let tears fall. His father was right, he would always be there. He moved his eyes to his daughter and silently promised no harm will come to her.
