Sunset was approaching and Zuri was about to excuse herself. She thought about Vitani's offer bit deciced to decline.

Zuri may not have Kovu but at least she'll have the next highest status as Kiara's advisor. Dame Zuri or Duchess Zuri, she would have power and control. She'll be important and everyone would have to do what she wants and how she wants it.

Of course, she has to get past Kiara but while she's too busy with her family or other nonsense problems, she'll take over gladly and perhaps do what her father couldn't.

A loud roar echoed throughout the kingdom. Though it wasn't to call the whole kingdom just the pride. Zuri turned around to head back to priderock.

After climbing the kopje, the orange brown lioness sat by her other cubhood best friend and paternal half-sister, Tiifu as Kiara began her announcement.

"Since the beginning of the Pridelands, the very first ruler, Queen Genesis has chosen her advisor. So with keeping with tradition I would like to announce who my advisor will be.."

The orange brown pelted lioness smiled at the creamy grey pelted lioness with white earrims next to her. "Tiifu, this is the moment we have been waiting for!"

"... our newest member, Sherise!"

Sherise smiled before taking her spot next to the gold furred queen. "I am honored to be your advisor, Queen Kiara."

A angered roar caused everyone gathered to turn to Zuri and Tiifu who was looking at her sister with concern.

"Zuri, calm down!" Tiifu tried to get her sister to settle but was failing.

"You can't be serious, Kiara!" the orange brown lioness growled. "Me and Tiifu deserve that position and you know it!"

Kiara sighed, her brown earrims against her head. "This is exactly why I didn't choose either of you. You are too expecting and don't take anything really serious."

Tiifu's dark green eyes widen. "How could you say that when we got scars from a useless war that could of been avoided!"

Everyone glanced at the wounds on the lionesses' bodies. Zuri has two long scars down the left side of her face as Tiifu has scars across the back of her neck.

When no one said anything the two roared before storming off. Not aware of Vitani and a slightly older orange tan pelted lioness grins.

The following morning after Queen Kiara's announcement, Jashua yawned as he walked out of his and Olisa's private den. He shook his black mane loose of gathered dirt and small pebbles before heading down to the nearby water hole.

As he headed down the dirt path he was immediately greeted by the sight of the newest Duchess and advisor also getting a morning drink.

"Good morning, your grace."

Sherise looked up and licked the few water droplets from her muzzle before smiling not aware of the look the pale cream lion had while his brown eyes were on her. "Please, Sherise will do. After all you saved my life, Prince Jashua."

Jashua chuckled while pawing at his chest. "Jashua or Jash, please. I hate being called a prince."

Sherise's purple eyes shined with humor as she smirked. "Why not? You're handsome and very charming, and very brave."

Jashua choked on the air that went down his lungs. His mate and him flirted but her words never had him flustered like he is now before.

The pale cream lion cleared his throat before sitting. "I want to apologize for my sister and her friend.. and also half-sister. Tiifu and Zuri have wanted to be Kiara's advisors since they were cubs but we knew they weren't cut out for the job. I mean who's better than an actual queen?"

Sherise smiled at the week and half younger lion. But before she could respond her ears perked as both of her and Jashua's attention went to the bright sapphire blue sky.

"Duchess Sherise!"

An young gold billed, dark purple hornbill landed in front of the brownish lioness with a small bow. "Your grace, forgive the interruption but the queen requested your presence."

"Of course, Saidi." Sherise gave Jashua a small smile before trotting off with Saidi flying after her.

Jashua sat in his spot starring after the lioness and his sister's majordomo to nearly jump out of his fur by someone clearing their throat.

Turning around the leader of the Lion Guard was faced with the strongest and bravest of his guard as well as his brothers, Luis and Jesús who are respectfully the strongest and bravest.

The oldest of the brothers, a red brown pelted, black mane lion smirked as his dark brown eyes shined with humor. "Ah, so you are normal? Thought you were a simp or something!"

Jashua growled lowly. "What, because I have morals? I refuse to be like..." the pale cream lion trailed off. He did find the duchess attractive and she made him feel something that Olisa never had.

"I see those wheels turning, little brother!" Luis laughed. "You like the duchess, don't you?"

Jashua shook his head and growled as he stood up before storming away.
