"Benihiko!" Kaname Tosen, the captain of squad 9 rained sword on his subordinate. His subordinate jumped to his right, dodging the attack. He leaps towards his captain in the sky clashing with his sword against his. The fierce combat takes place, and Kaname seemingly goes easy on him. "Focus! Don't try to overpower your foes! Observe them and look for an opening!" He goes for a thrust, and though his sparring partner dodges to the left, Kaname changes his stance and slices his uniform easily. Thinking his captain missed, he charged at him with a full swing until his captain grabbed his arm. "Enough. We're done for today."
"That was so cool! I thought I had you there!" the big and tall man excitedly said. His body is truly a sight to behold, and with such a muscular body, too. His features are clearly those of an American; one may consider him handsome.
"You must think while fighting. A split-second mistake can get you killed. If you don't fear the blade including your own, you charge in recklessly. How can you expect to defeat someone if all you do is go with brute force?"
"Wouldn't having a higher power be enough? I can always negate it anyway."
Kaname getting annoyed by his carefree attitude, said, "I told you, when you're faced with an equal, you won't have that luxury! You are talented but you're not disciplined. I'm not sure why Lord Aizen didn't just throw you to Hueco Mundo and have you trained by the espadas." The personalities are incompatible. Kaname takes things more seriously while this man acts more like a Squad 11 imbecile. At least he's friendly and sociable.
"You have enough power to easily kill the lower-ranking espadas. I'm sure I'd be able to power through."
"False! You must be able to have fine control to overcome such challenges. There are many espadas far stronger than I, including Yammy."
"That weakling?!"
"Don't judge a book by its cover. Yammy's true power comes from storing spirit energy and anger. He grows stronger the angrier he gets."
"With all due respect, I don't believe it until I see it," Taigen scoffs it up as nonsense while Kaname gets further annoyed. He takes a deep breath and tries to calm himself.
"We're done for today. Go home and get some rest," he dismisses training and both go their way.
Late at night, Taigen is in the house of one of his friends. They gather to discuss the usual squad troubles.
"Damn! That little shit Hinamori acts all so cute. She's so timid and shy. She's not strong enough! She's not worthy of being lieutenant."
"What about Matsumoto? She's got a big rack! Her tits are massive and damn! What a slut showing of her melons!"
"Us Rukongai folks gotta stick together! We may be Soul Reapers now but we need some justice."
"Yeah, like totally, I got my parents living in the rukongai, especially with how strict it is in the Sereitei. It's unforgivable! They wouldn't let me bring my family with me!"
"For an afterlife, it's shit! I prefer staying on Earth! At least everything's easier there!"
"Yeah. For all the power these 'captains' got, they're nothing more than lapdogs of the nobles!"
"Aizen's right with everything! I'm glad to serve under him! Make the Soul Society Great Again!"
"You said it! There needs to be freedom here! A democracy!"
"Hate soifon! Last time I saw her, she looked at me like I'm trash!"
"No way you saw that bitch! I met Komamura. He looks so gentle but he's such a coward. I told him everything would be fine if he let go of his helmet but he insisted not to."
"Agreed. Yamamoto, that senile old coot! He's nothing more than a dementia stubborn bastard."
"Recruiting a genocidal maniac into their cause. Typical of a corrupt government. There's gotta be a way to drain the swamp."
"I heard Ethan Maxwell is promoting such change," they all look at Taigen, "Why not we recruit him? He's been increasing the performance of Squad 7. He's introducing review lessons and partnerships not only with the Kido Corps, also with Squad 4. He's giving out drill exercises and making sure everyone is in top shape for any fight. There's been an introduction with Microsoft offices with an increase of productivity." They all look at Taigen and agree that he sounds like the perfect candidate. They gather around to see how they can get him to his side.
The next day, Taigen and his friend confront Ethan in his office, "Why not join us? You seem to understand the horrors and the lack of-"
"If you're trying to recruit me in your conspiracy theory nonsense count me out and get the hell out of my office," Clearly uninterested and didn't want to waste time.
"Oh come on! It's not a conspiracy theory! Look around you! Have you forgotten-"
"Democracy born out of destabilizing the government and through force?"
"What do you mean by through force? We just need you to-"
"You do realize the kind of change you demand is asking for a civil war"
"oh come on! You're just exaggerating. We know you're highly influential with the captains. If you can get them to our side we can force central 46 to bring real change to-"
"There's the issue. Trying to pressure or force them won't work. We can only do so much without destabilizing. If we force on the topic, they won't budge. The only way to do this not is through diplomacy."
"And where has that got us?!"
"Clearly not a civil war. You really think that the nobles don't have captain-level fighters with them? Those bastards are hiding behind them while the only force in the soul society is the 13 Court Guard Squads being a public figure. If we antagonize the nobles it'll be difficult to make those changes. You're impatient and wanting-"
"And what does that make you? You're no better than the captains then! You're just as evil as they are! Letting the poor people suffer in the rukongai. How can you be considered a man for change and progress when you're hoarding all the good shit in squad 7?"
"And how can you expect others to follow with no results shown?"
"That's their problem not ours."
"Then clearly you know nothing of government. Get lost or I'll force you out."
"What if I told you I know of your secret? I know you've been allowing some of squad 7 members become whores, and practicing forbidden kido."
This is a mistake as Ethan's power rose. He kept the pressure focused on the two. They couldn't breathe much less stand. Their backs are barely hanging on, the fear on their face visible. "You really think you can blackmail me? I got permission to supervise and teach forbidden kido with the kido corps. With some of the female members becoming whores is none of my business. I allow them to be free to do whatever they please so long as they don't do anything harmful to the squad. I spoke with Captain Komamura and he allowed it only because it's beneficial to have their needs met. I don't see them as people selling their bodies, I see them as human beings with needs of their own. They never sell their bodies; they are having fun with their trusted friends and have good sex education. Use on forbidden kido is meant to be an emergency and only a select few of the squad know how to cast it. If you refuse again, I will force you out now get lost!" Ethan released the pressure from them and with Taigen and his friend visibly scared they ran from his office.
Captain Komamura arrived at his friend's office, "Hello Kaname. I need to let you know some of your subordinates tried to blackmail 3rd seat Ethan Maxwell. Ethan reported to me of the events and has it on record."
They both listened to the recording and was shocked one of the members of his squad would do that. "I understand. I will enact disciplinary measures. This will not happen again. Though I will be honest, I never imagined you'd be so loose with your subordinates."
"It was Ethan's suggestion. At first, I wasn't sure then he set up a compromise at first. He made security measures with it and we were able to send much of the criminals to the maggot's nest and the rest were glad to be free to express themselves. Because of that, Squad 7 has a major partnership with Squad 2 in policing any offenders thanks to it. Much of the pressure and anxiety was relieved thanks to him. We were able to create a more relaxed and happier environment."
"This Ethan fellow has changed much of squad 7."
"Agreed. Though Squad 7 has always flourished under my leadership, with Ethan, it reached heights I thought had never been possible. I shouldn't be taking your time. I will take my leave."
"I'll give Taigen some rough training this time." For some reason, as Captain Komamura leaves the office, he feels bad for the poor troublemaker.
