Kiwi was dying; she knew it was due to Fareda betraying her because she owed him a favor, and with the debt paid, he shot her. She was shot, but she didn't regret it knowing she was satisfied that she could spit on her benefactor's face knowing she didn't owe him anything anymore. Her only regret is that she couldn't see Lucy one last time, who was like a sister to her.
His henchmen were approaching, ready to deal the final blow until they were thrown by an unknown force, knocking them down. "Are you alright?" someone called her.
"A civilian," how could her luck be that bad? "No, it's too late for me."
"I see. Do you have any regrets?"
She wanted to laugh; there were just so many things she wanted to fix for her mistake.
"What do you regret?" he asked again.
She doesn't know why she would indulge in a stranger. Is it because she was dying and wanted to let her conscience cleanse? "I regret betraying my friends knowing they're going to die; even if one of them is alive, I'll be satisfied."
"I see you. Do you want to live and save your friends if given a chance?"
Does she want to live? "Yes, I want to live to at least apologize to my friends even just once.".
"Then I will help you."
"Don't bother; I'm already dying." She was tired, and her vision was blurred. Kiwi could feel it, a warmth she had never felt before. It was like a warm blanket that she tucked into when sleeping. Adam smasher Arasaka head of security and most powerful cyborg was being deployed and he already accepted the job out of fun. As he threw Faraday outside the building to fall to his death and ready to crush the green gremlin to paste something of an unknown force push him before he could kill the midget.
Seeing the chance Rebecca quickly fires her shotgun at the down smasher while shouting Lucy to escape as she and David try to distract the cyborg.
"Lucy hurry he can't keep him down forever" Rebecca continues providing cover fire while David was on the offense.
"No I can't leave you two here!"
"Dam it!" Rebecca quickly grabs Lucy and drags her inside the Humvee that Falco was driving. "Rebecca what are you doing?"
"Saving your ass that's what!"
"Let me go." "I need to help David!"
"Not in your condition, but he told me to save you, and I'm going to do it," she said, shoving Lucy inside the truck. Lucy used her remaining strength to seize Rebecca's jacket.
"Why are you so intent on wanting to fulfill David's wish?"
"I just want to do it, that's all." Lucy didn't believe it. "Do you love him?"
Rebecca was taken off guard by Lucy's question because she hadn't expected it.
"Tell me please do you love him?" Lucy begged all she needed to know.
Rebecca just smiled sadly " Yes I love him just like you love him I know he had only eyes on you but I'm not the give up type and maybe we could share him" she sounded giddy at the last part.
"Rebecca" Lucy doesn't know what to say, no she knows just ignore it the little goblin that she was in love with David.
"Falco go now and save Lucy"
" On it" Falco gets in and starts up the vehicle.
"Rebecca stop you and David are going to die. You can't beat him!"
She simply grinned, "If I die, at least I die with him. Falco drive now!" Falco understood as Rebecca turned back without looking and he drove away while Smasher was busy. Lucy just yelled about her powerlessness.
"David, I'm coming!" She dashed forward and fired her shotgun at Smasher, who was unfazed as the cyborg threw David to her feet after ripping both of his arms and legs. He approached them intimidatingly.
"Rebecca, is that you?" Despite his injuries, David wanted to appear normal.
"Yes, I'm here, and everything is going to be alright."
"Why are you here? ,You should escape with Lucy! "He killed you."
"I don't want to leave you alone, David."
"Why are you willing to be by my side?
"Because I love you, you big Gog!" Knowing they're going to die, she might as well confess.
Davie's eyes widen hearing something so ludicrous coming from Rebecca's mouth.
"I always love you. I know how much you love Lucy, but that doesn't mean I can't stop loving you. I want to be part of your life no matter who is with you David."
"Rebecca?" David doesn't know what to say.
"This is my proof," as she put her lips on David's lips, kissing him.
David was just dumbfounded by Rebecca's affection. He can't help but notice how beautiful she looks right now.
"Both of you make me want to vomit with such useless emotion. I'll make sure to dismember the women as you watch."The cyborg said.
Rebecca fired her shotgun at point blank, but it was futile as Smasher's armor was thick.
"No! Stop!" David shouted.
Adam grabbed Rebecca's head with his right hand, and with the other arm, he pulled hard as she screamed in pain, feeling her right hand ripped by the bogeyman.
"Yamaroiiiii!" David shouted as he was forced to watch Rebecca's arm rip from her body. He felt powerless knowing someone he cared for and loved was going to die again.
"Next arm," he pulls again, ripping it apart as she screams in pain.
Seeing her suffering, his mind flashes every time she flirts with him, smiling and caring for him. He was a fool not noticing; no, he just ignored her, afraid of getting close after Lucy's situation, and he should have taken that leap. Now she's going to die, and it was his fault. "Please, anyone, help! I don't care if it's God or the devil; please save her!"
As he was ready to crush her head, he sensed powerful killing intent, and he dropped her and saw a teenage boy with blue hair walking towardshim casually.
"Who are you?"
"Just a random citizen helping someone."
Adam Smasher has survived hundreds of battles and modified his body to the point he thinks the flesh is weak, and whatever the boy was, his instinct was running wild like facing the Grim Reaper. "What do you want?"
"Like I said, I just want to help those two; is that alright?"
"What makes you think I would follow your words, Meat?"
"I would defeat you, and the legend of the Arasaka bogeyman would be nothing more than a hoax."
"You're just meat." Adam scanned and found out the boy was 100 percent organic, with no trace of cyberware at all, and that was impossible. But even he heard rumors of people who didn't use cyberware.
"What if I am beside You already got what you wanted, and the target has escaped. Why bother with the small stuff?"
Smasher's instinct was on edge as he wanted to pummel the meat. Consequences be damned, but the kid was right: the target escaped, the exoskeleton was destroyed, and the other meat were nothing more than bugs that he could easily crush, not even worth his attention. "You have a point; go before I change my mind.".
As the bluenette quickly grabbed both David and Rebecca and disappeared, then his superiors called him. "Smasher, have you completed the mission?"
"I did the target got away, but the exo is in pieces."

Kiwi was the first to awaken. She saw the same hospital ceiling, but it was considerably cleaner, something only those with a Trauma Team package could afford. But she felt something strange in her mouth as she touched it. She could feel the familiar jaw, skin, teeth, and tongue that she thought was impossible. "How" she quickly got up and looked in the mirror and saw it on her face just like she remembered it before: ripped by a scum with gorilla hands. Tears stream from her eyes as she clutches her jaw and feels the anguish. "It's not a dream."
"So you're awake".
She saw a person with blue hair and grey with half of its hair covering his face. "Who are you, where am I, and how?"
"So many questions, but it seems you're fine. Yes, I was the one that saved you and fixed your jaw, and I don't ask more questions. I prefer to keep my secrets.
Kiwi knew what he meant as a cyberpunk: you don't ask any questions; it's one of the edge runners: 'don't ask too many questions.'
"Why did you help me?" She felt like she didn't deserve it.
"I just wanted to help; that's all".
"Bullshit. You don't go help anyone in Night City; you probably want something". She doesn't believe in such a thing in Night City.
"No, I don't want anything from you; I just want to help, that's all".
"Then why?"
"Because it never hurts to help someone in need".
Kiwi was speechless as it was the first time she met someone like him who didn't ask for anything in return. How he was able to fix her jaw would make her give that person everything to pay back her once beautiful face, including her body and soul.
But he didn't ask for any of it; just a random civilian who wanted to help her. Even so, with her pride, both as a woman and as an Edge runner, she cannot let her debt be unpaid. As she stripped, letting the person see her birthday suit. "I'm a proud woman. I may have nothing, but that doesn't mean I can't pay back the debt".
He wasn't fazed by seeing his body but rather sighed. 'Women and their pride,' he whispered. "I already told you you don't owe me anything at all."
But Kiwi cannot let it slide knowing she owes that person too much for both saving her life and fixing her jaw. "Then let me work under you; anything, please. You saved me and gave back my jaw. If I cannot pay my debt, I'll be unworthy".
He gives up knowing he can't persuade. "I'll tell you what you can do in the meantime: just rest."

Rebecca opened her eyes, seeing the familiar white room, and looked around; she was probably in a medical room. In the room she saw a woman, and she looked familiar. "Who are you, and where am I?"
"You don't recognize me, do you?"
"Who?"
Kiwi just took the mask and put it at her mouth. "Recognize me now?"
Rebecca saw the familiar face. "you bitch!" as she jumped, grabbing a Kiwi white shirt from the traitor.
"I admit I did betray you, but I already redeemed my mistake."
"And I suppose to believe that."
"Believe in what you want, but I have to admit you look much cuter without a tattoo.".
"Huh? What are you talking about?
Kiwi just pointed at the mirror, and Rebecca looked, and shocked, it was her face, except it was during her younger days before she arrived at Night City and became an edgerunner.
"How?" That was the question.
"You can thank my benefactor. He both helped me and you."
"Oh joy," knowing they owe him a favor or something.
"You don't have to worry; he isn't like Fareday or others that would betray us."
Rebecca looked around for someone. "Where's David?"

"Why is he in here?"

"David, "She looked worried and relieved that he was alive, then looked at Kiwi. 'Who is this benefactor you keep talking about?"

Minato looked at Night City from his office, seeing the beautiful city shining in the dark but corrupted from the inside, no different from Rome. Night City was the city of dreams, as they say, but all that changed when the corporate war started, decimating the city and building upon corruption by the corporation, as the government isn't lifting a finger to help the citizens.
When he first arrived at Night City, he was confused and lost, but being observant, he knew how to adapt. Also, his left hand has a device that acts as an interface similar to the cyber implants of the denizens. So he doesn't need the whole putting a chip in his brain, thank you very much.
The device is called an Omnitool; like its name, it has many uses. The first time he walked into the city, he could see the dystopia and shock, especially the cybernetics on the citizen body, which was disturbing at first but became the norm.
Like every city was divided by class, but the only difference is that the lower class has more cybernetics than the upper class.
He then saved a woman who was about to be killed by a gang, and as a thank you, she brought him to the Moxx, the only place in Night City you can feel safe. He told her that he was a foreigner who just got dumped in the city. Thinking he might be a boy being kidnapped for ransom and dumped. They felt sorry to explain about Night City and its history.
Minato felt disgusted that a city that was supposed to be the safest place, envisioned by Richard Night, turned into a cesspool of violence and corruption. With his persona, he could wipe Night City from the face of the earth and rebuild it on a clean slate. But at the cause of millions of deaths, both sides, both vile and innocent. The Moxx is proof enough that there are still good people in the city.
Great power comes with great responsibility. He had the power and wanted to help Night City and its good people.
But he had an idea that was to start small. Creating a company that could rival Arasaka, Militech, and others. A safe haven for those who had talent but were outcast because of corruption and those with power. Its mission is to both heal the planet and the betterment o humanity.
The location would be the floating city located near Night City between Heytower Harbor, 20 km. It was supposed to be a tourist spot for the wealthy as a man-made island. But it was discarded during the corporate war and left abandoned.
It was an ideal location, reminding him of Tatsumi Port Island as a perfect place isolated from mainland corruption. Minato would name it the Frontier Association for Sustain and Tranquility, or FAST for short. It's tasked with helping with the night city situation by providing food and medicine for hospitals, schools, and other needed facilities. Even gangs could buy from him.
Minato needed to show that he was fair with what they bought and would give the appropriate price to gain both trust and the transaction between both parties. And it didn't take a month for the gang, like 6 streets, Melstorm, animals and Voodoo boys, to break the contract, thinking they could threaten him and failed.
As he was one step ahead of them, he took Edge runners and those who were military veterans that didn't get the credit they deserved. Training and providing better equipment and making the security forces get back alive.
This gains loyalty among edge runners.
It can be said the island was heaven from the night city as he was already staying, expanding by building a school that would use a train station to connect. To the mainland. He also had to deal with spies and other troublesome things that were trying to exploit him because he was young and flesh.

Rebecca was given the choice of either living with her life or becoming a security with the association; she chose to work with them. She wasn't trusting them, especially the man called Minato Arrisato, even if Kiwi vouched for him that he was unlike other handlers, nor did he like to be called that. It wasn't just gangs joining him; those from Arasaka, Milltech, police, and the Trauma Team also wanted to become members of the association. Of course, Minato was careful that if one of them were spies and he gave them a choice, either break their chain with their master or be free to work under him.
Some break the chain while others remain loyal to whom Minato just sent back; unsatisfied, the spies are usually terminated by their masters no matter how loyal they are.

Rebecca was at the restaurant, a high-class type; only this time she's wearing a green dress that matches her hair. She looked at the window, seeing her image, how she had changed. She even looked as beautiful as Lucy with her hair down. She could imagine how Pillar would laugh at her change that she was the badass girl who is now a woman.
The only reason she was here was because Jackie Welles invited her for a talk. And now here he is.
"What do you want? Don't you know? I'm busy."
"Busy with your boyfriend, who is still sleeping." It was no secret that Rebecca would sometimes visit David and chat with him about her new life and other things, hoping he would wake up. "I need your help with a certain something."
"Let me guess something dangerous. I thought you already avoided the danger you finally live the life of luxury, both corporate and edge runner". Minato implies a new policy that everyone can be happy, and one of them is working both security and mercenaries and part-time jobs, and their profits from their jobs they can keep.
It's just like a scorpion. Their nature of edge runners looking for thrills and danger is in their guts. As long as they don't bring trouble to the association, they can do whatever job they want.
"I know, but my buddy V got a sweet gig that we need help with, and it involves Arasaka."
Rebecca stopped eating when she heard Arasaka. She still has a grudge with them, especially their fixer trying to sell one of them to the corporate world and the death of her friends and family. "What do you need?"

"Your still up should you be rested?" A voice called him from bed.
"I already rested enough. When the mass driver is completed, it'll be the way of the future." A mass driver, or electromagnetic catapult, is used to catapult payloads up to high speeds towards space, especially the moon.
It would be the biggest leap of humankind as they would focus on the final frontier and not petty squabbling on earth.
Kiwi didn't say anything, knowing how stubborn Minato can be, as she got up from bed after their night making out. Their relationship was complicated in a sense. Not a lover but a coworker with benefits, as she worked under Minato as both his secretary and hacker, helping him with the association.
Besides, even the persona user has its needs.
She went to the bathroom in another room and puked, making sure Minato didn't hear it, knowing she was pregnant and she was keeping it a secret. Kiwi knew it would happen, and in truth, she loved him and was afraid to say anything.
Minato saved her life and gave her hope, something nobody did, and she just acted like that, afraid to show her emotion.
But right now she needs to focus. The future of humanity and her child is important.
