The far reaches of space contains great adventures, mysteries and quests. All quests have a starting point, and this one comes from Earth, or so he believed as a child. Having survived the destruction of his home, Planet Vegeta, Son Goku had spend his entire childhood and early adult years on the blue planet, living peacefully as a child at top of Mount Paozu in China.
Having gotten married to Chi-Chi, daughter of the Ox King, the two brought in a child named Gohan, named for Goku's adoptive grandfather. One day Goku set out to bring his son to the house of his old martial arts sensei, Master Roshi, and that is where things really took a turn for the worse with Goku.
Off in the distance, a surviving Saiyan had landed on Earth, first catching the attention of the Demon King Reincarnation, Piccolo. He set out to find Raditz upon sensing his incredible power and soon discovered that he was at a level far beyond himself. Fortunately for him, Raditz did not waste any more time than needed with Piccolo, he had a brother to find.
Goku had arrived at Kame House, meeting with his master Roshi and his two best friends, Krillin and Bulma. Their fun reunion was cut short when Raditz arrived on the island as well, revealing to Goku who he is, a Saiyan from Planet Vegeta, as well as announcing himself as Goku's older brother. When Goku refused to join Raditz on a mission, the older Saiyan had opted to take his son as hostage until Goku agreed to join him.
Of course Goku would not, he along with a temporary ally in Piccolo flew to find Raditz, Goku hoping to save his son, Piccolo just wanting to make sure Radtiz is out of the way so he can conquer the world himself.
Upon arrival the two worked together to defeat Raditz, but at the cost of Goku's life. However that wouldn't be the end, thanks to the power of The Dragon Balls, Goku could be revived, which he would be in about a year.
More Saiyans were due to arrive on Earth in a year's time, so Piccolo opted to train Gohan, the boy having shown hidden power during the battle against Raditz. Others like Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu also trained, everyone getting ready for the showdown with the Saiyans.
However, this did attract some attention namely from S.H.I.E.L.D., who received word of an unknown spacecraft entering the atmosphere. Several Agents were deployed to where the crash sight was, finding only the remains of Raditz's pod.
Nick Fury was worried what this could mean, if there was an incoming Invasion. He had to keep an eye out for any more of these spacecrafts.
While training out in the wilderness, Gohan had learned to adapt to the wild, honing his senses and survival capability. He was somewhat alone on the island, only Piccolo being around, though the Namekian hardly let himself be known. He was only there to supervise Gohan's progress and make sure the boy stayed alive.
The first issue came when Piccolo noticed a transformation quite unusual, the night Gohan first looked at the full moon, the boy began to change until slowly and suddenly he became a giant. Piccolo was quick to act, he attempted to destroy the moon, however a barrier protected it, one Piccolo did not know the origin of. Quickly he went with the second option, destroying Gohan's tail, reversing the transformation. Things were at least back to normal, Piccolo giving Gohan a sword to help the boy protect himself.
Of course now Piccolo had to think about the possibility that the Saiyans could use that to their advantage, so he'd have to make a note of it to destroy their tails as well.
However one day Gohan met someone new, a man who happened to be on the island as well, hoping for alone time. As Gohan was looking for food, mostly fruit, a dinosaur creature caught him by surprise, coming out of nowhere.
"Ah!" Gohan quickly brought out his sword, ready to attack, but he suddenly felt frozen. He had no idea what to do at this point, however just before the creature got too close, a man rushed in and pulled Gohan out the way.
Gohan was curious at first, wondering if maybe Piccolo saved him. However as he looked up, he saw a man, not too tall, and a bit hairy. The man placed Gohan down someplace safe. "Stay here.
As he approached the dinosaur again, Gohan's mind was filled with curiosity. "Who's he? I've never seen him before."
The creature walked to the man, who just stood his ground, glaring at the beast. "You really think you can take me on, bub?"
The dino creature lunged at the man, and in a quick instant, it was slain when the man brought out metallic claws. Gohan looked amazed, he's never seen a human use claws like that, if this person even was human.
The man wiped the blood off of his claws, took note of Gohan again, "You feeling alright kid?"
"Uh, yeah," Gohan said. "Thank you."
"Gotta say, didn't expect to see a kid here, why would you be out in the middle of nowhere?" the man asked.
"Uh, I'm from here, sort of," Gohan answered.
"Sort of?" the man asked.
"I'm living here for a few months, my real home is much further from here," Gohan explained.
"This yer vacation spot or something?" the man asked. "Kind of a dangerous place, though given that sword on yer back I take it yer used to that idea."
"Well I'm not here for vacation, I'm here for survival training," Gohan said. "If I can survive for a long time by myself this island, then I will get martial arts training."
"By yerself!?" the man asked. "Who's bright idea was that?"
"My mentor, Mr. Piccolo," Gohan said.
"Piccolo...why does that name sound familiar?" the man asked. "Never mind, where are yer parents? Do they know about this?"
"My mom probably does, she's all the way back home," Gohan said. "But my dad is dead, he died protecting me from his evil brother."
"Oh, sorry to hear about yer pops," the man said. "Evil brother huh? Sounds interesting."
"It's really strange," Gohan said. "Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name's Gohan, what's yours?"
"Logan," the man replied.
"Hey, how did you do that trick with your claws? Are you human?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, I'm human, guess you've never seen someone else's quirk," Logan said.
"Quirk? Weird one of my dad's friends asked me that when she first met me, mainly because of my tail," Gohan said.
"What tail?" Logan asked.
"I had a tail, but it's gone now," Gohan said, looking behind him. "It's so weird."
"Hm...where are you from kid?" Logan asked.
"Uh, Mount Paozu," Gohan explained.
"Mount Paozu? Don't think I know that place," Logan said.
"My dad grew up there, he lived with his grandpa," Gohan said. "Where are you from Mister?"
"I'm from lots of places, born in Canada, trained in Japan and living in America," Logan said.
"Wow, sounds like you traveled a lot, just like my dad did when he met his friends," Gohan said. "He told me how he traveled all over China and Japan, then went around the rest of the world."
"Yer pops sounds like he's been through a lot of places," Logan said, then heard some growling. "Sounds like yer getting hungry kid."
Gohan grabbed his stomach, "I guess I am. I try to keep myself full but I've only been eating fruit, it hasn't done much for me."
"Yeah, yer gonna need more than that," Logan said. "You got a sword, do you know how to hunt?"
"Not really, my dad did all the hunting and fishing," Gohan said. "I mean he did teach me a little about fishing but I don't have any way of catching fish."
"Tell you what, we'll cook up this beast fer now, then later I'll give you some advice about hunting," Logan said.
"That's really nice of you mister," Gohan said.
"It's nothing. Go grab some firewood, I'll get some flint to get the fire going," Logan said, going an opposite direction.
"Yes sir," Gohan said, running to find some wood.
From above, Piccolo had noticed everything, his curiosity rising, "Didn't expect to see a human out here, if that is one. I better get some answers soon."
Time passed, the fire had started, Gohan and Logan were enjoying their share of meat. This filled Gohan up a lot better than fruit.
"So, yer here fer martial arts training?" Logan asked.
"Yeah, Mr. Piccolo wants me to get strong so we can keep the planet safe," Gohan said, taking a bite into his meal.
"Safe huh?" Logan asked, taking a bite of his own. "Safe from what?"
"Some aliens called Saiyans," Gohan said. "Two really strong ones are coming in a year or so."
"Saiyans? I've never heard of that species," Logan said. "What planet are they from?"
"Uh, I don't remember sorry," Gohan said. "I was too scared of the guy explaining things, since he came to hurt my dad and make him do terrible things."
"One of them already came?" Logan asked.
"It was my dad's brother that I mentioned before, he said when my dad was a baby he was sent to Earth to conquer it," Gohan explained. "He came here to see if my dad did what he was supposed to, which he didn't. Then he captured me and tried to kill my dad. My dad stopped him, but they both died in the process."
"Huh, I see..." Logan said. "Weird, all of this sounds almost hard to believe, but I've heard of weirder things."
"It's strange for me too, since my dad's from another planet, that makes me half alien," Gohan said. "My dad didn't even know he was an alien."
"Figures, if he got sent here as a baby, he probably thought he was human," Logan said. "I don't even get how they expected a baby to conquer a planet."
"Me neither, but my dad has absolutely no memory of his home planet, and he had no desire to really hurt innocent people," Gohan said.
"Well, be proud yer dad died fighting to protect you and this planet," Logan said. "Even if it was a temporary save, we'll just have to make sure he didn't die for nothing."
"I'm not too worried, I heard my dad can come back to life," Gohan said, raising Logan's curiosity.
"How?" Logan wondered. "Is it some type of weird magic? You really should be careful with that stuff, it might go wrong."
"I don't think it will, it worked before I heard," Gohan said. "Mr. Piccolo told me about something called The Dragon Balls, they can grant any wish and my dad's friends are gonna use them to wish him back to life."
"Wishing someone back from the dead," Logan said. "Eh, that honestly sounds bad. You don't want to mess with the natural order."
"Hey don't say that, I want my dad back!" Gohan said. "If your dad died wouldn't you want him back?"
"My dad is dead kid, not once have I thought about bringing him back," Logan said. "Of course I do understand yer desire, I've lost people I cared about over the years."
"Well, if you want, after my dad gets wished back, I can ask my friends to bring back all your loved ones," Gohan said.
"It's fine, I miss them but I don't want to mess with reality like that. Besides at least if they're dead, they're a lot safer than they are alive," Logan said.
"Huh? What makes you say that?" Gohan asked.
"Nothing, don't worry about it," Logan said. "So, how long do you have to stay on this island for?"
"Well the Saiyans are suppose to be here in a year, and Piccolo told me that I have to survive six months here by myself and then he'll spend the next six months training me," Gohan explained.
"Do they expect you to fight these Saiyans though? I mean how old are you even? Six? Seven?" Logan asked.
"I'm four," Gohan answered.
"Four? Wow you have good vocabulary for a boy yer age," Logan said. "Still, not exactly something I can condone. Where does yer mom live again?"
"Mount Paozu, off the coast of China," Gohan explained.
"Alright then," Logan sat up. "I take it bringing you home is out of the question?"
"Well I'm not suppose to go home yet, I have to keep training for the Saiyans to arrive," Gohan explained.
"Right..." Logan said, then sat up. "Well I'm taking my leave fer now, I'll be back soon."
"Wait, what about my hunting lesson?" Gohan asked.
"First lesson, keep yer eyes and ears open, second, focus a lot of stealth, make sure they can't hear you, so keep an eye out fer sticks or anything else that can catch their attention, third, move fast and strike from behind, I suggest going fer smaller game," Logan said.
"Uh, alright?" Gohan said, this felt like pretty vague advice.
"Stick it out fer a bit, and I'll see you again soon," Logan said and dashed off, leaving Gohan behind.
"Huh, what a strange guy," Gohan commented.
Logan had dashed through the fields, looking back to where had left Gohan. He didn't feel right leaving the boy by himself, but he still doesn't know the full story of this. He wants to bring him back home but he also has this Piccolo guy to think about.
"If I could find whoever this Piccolo person is, I'll be sure to give them a piece of my mind," Logan said.
"You called for me?" Piccolo asked, causing Logan to jump and turn.
"Who the hell?" Logan asked.
"I'm Piccolo, I believe my apprentice told you about me," Piccolo explained.
Logan took a nice good look at him, no doubt about it, he definitely recognized this demon. "Hey, didn't you terrorize parts of China and Japan several years ago?"
"So, you recognize me," Piccolo said. "But I will say that while I am not the same Piccolo you're probably thinking of, I am still his reincarnation."
"Reincarnation huh? Makes sense, I did hear something about King Piccolo biting the dust, before resurfacing again in the Twenty-Third World Martial Arts Tournament," Logan said.
"Word gets around huh? Yes, my father was unjustly defeated eight years ago, but before his demise he had given life to me, since then I've been training for revenge against the one who defeated my father," Piccolo said. "Then I will conquer what is rightfully his."
"Still after the planet, you really think you'll be able to pull that off with so many heroes around?" Logan asked, unsheathing his claws. "What's to stop me from striking you down right now?"
"Do it if you'd like, I doubt someone like you can kill me," Piccolo said.
"Wanna bet? Considering what yer doing to that boy, I have half a mind to strike you down where you stand bub," Logan warned.
"Choose your next words carefully, they might be your last," Piccolo said. "My reason for training that boy is none of your concern. He has tremendous power, one I intend to unleash."
"Let me guess, after you defeat these Saiyans, you want to use this boy for your revenge scheme," Logan said. "Yer gonna use him to help you bring down the guy who killed yer pops aren't you?"
"That is an unlikely scenario, if anything that boy might become my enemy someday," Piccolo said. "Just like you will be if you don't back away from my plans. Like it or not, he's one of our best defenses against the threat coming to this planet."
"Tell me, why should I trust the safety of that boy to a demon who wants control of the planet?" Logan asked.
"I can't conquer a planet that's been ravaged, I have just as much to gain from this, so I'd perfer not to make anymore unneeded enemies," Piccolo said. "But if you give me a reason to, I'll kill you, just like I killed that Saiyan from before."
"Yeah, good luck with that," Logan said. "I'll be back, if anything happens to that kid, I'll come after you myself."
"Yeah I'd like to see you try and take me on, might provide some decent entertainment," Piccolo taunted.
Logan glared in anger, the walked off, still mistrusting of Piccolo. Of course the demonic fighter did not take Logan too lightly, he would have to keep an eye on him. He made his way over to Gohan, the boy resting after his meal.
"Huh? Mr. Piccolo? What are you doing here?" Gohan asked. "Has it been six months already?"
"Don't be stupid, of course it hasn't," Piccolo said. "I couldn't help but notice you made a new friend."
"Oh, you mean Logan? He's really nice isn't he?" Gohan said.
"Yeah, nice," Piccolo sarcastically replied. "Be careful around him, I don't trust that guy."
"Huh? But he seems so nice," Gohan said.
"Don't be so naive Gohan, and for future reference, don't be so open with him either," Piccolo said. "For all you know he could be another danger to keep an eye out for, we don't know what he could be planning."
"You should be a little more trusting, who knows, maybe he can help us fight the Saiyans as well," Gohan suggested.
"Tch, right, don't go relying on the kindness of strangers, you'll be left disappointed," Piccolo said. "I'm going off now, I have my own training to do. Remember be wary of that guy."
"Alright, I guess," Gohan answered, still not too sure why Logan couldn't be trusted.
The weeks that passed were an interesting set, Logan had constantly come back to check on Gohan, feeling the need to make sure the boy stayed safe. Gohan himself reminded him of another boy he met once, curiously that boy had a tail as well, Logan began wondering if there was any connection. He would ask but he knew Piccolo was around, and he would rather not get into an unnecessary fight, even if he was willing and ready to strike the demon down.
Piccolo knew of Logan's presence as well, on occasion he contemplated killing the mutant. But so long as he didn't get involved with Gohan's training, he felt no need to waste his time yet.
Soon came the time for Gohan's martial arts training. Piccolo had six months to hone the boy's skills, he only hoped that would be enough, but he didn't have much choice. The training was hard and viscous, Piccolo really went all out, showing Gohan very little mercy, wanting to bring out the warrior in him.
Logan had observed their training on occasion, wanting to make sure it wasn't anything beyond Gohan's control, and to get a better idea of their fighting styles.
Piccolo noticed Logan standing there one day, as per usual. While he found his constant presence irritating, perhaps he could get some use out of him. "Why don't you come over and train with us if you're so interested?"
Gohan noticed Logan from nearby, curious by the man's attendance. Logan didn't seem too keen about joining at first, not fully trusting Piccolo's motives. Though part of him was curious about what this demon being could do, so he cautiously approached the duo.
"You look tense, don't tell me my mere presence intimidates you?" Piccolo taunted.
"You wish bub," Logan said, unsheathing his claws. "So, you want some of this?"
"Oh this wasn't a training session between us," Piccolo said, then turned to Gohan. "Kid, show me what you've learned and try to take this fool down."
"Huh!?" Gohan said, surprised by this outcome.
"Hey, what are you getting at?" Logan asked. "You expect me to fight a kid?"
"No, I expect you to train with that kid," Piccolo said. "If you're so worried on whether or not he can survive out here, then use this moment to help better his skills to your liking."
Logan turned to Gohan, the boy still looking confused. "I still don't know what yer planning, but I will admit, this boy is tough from what I've seen." Logan turned to Piccolo, "Fine, I'll go along with this, but if you try anything while my back is turned, I'll skewer you."
"I'm not one to take cheap shots," Piccolo said. "Gohan, show no mercy."
"Uh, right!" Gohan said, getting into a fighting stance. The more Logan observed this boy, the more he really bore an uncanny resemblance to another young boy he met.
"Kid, before we fight, tell me, what was yer dad's name?" Logan asked.
"Uh, his name was Goku," Gohan answered.
"Goku...that name seems so familiar now," Logan said, trying to think back to the early days of the World Martial Arts Tournament. "Show me what you can do kid."
Gohan rushed in attacking hard, trying to land some hits on Logan. The older man was quick to block them, admiring the power Gohan put into his punches. Gohan jumped to land a kick to his head but Logan blocked that as well, then grabbed him to flip him over, careful not to hurt him too much.
"Yer good with strikes kid, but yer also thinking too much, it's causing you to slow down," Logan said. "Also be careful with the flashier moves, you'll leave yerself open, try to get yer opponent stunned first."
"Right," Gohan said, getting back up. He went for more strikes, trying to find an opening to strike Logan.
The older warrior was too quick, though he had to admit this boy showed promise. Upon parrying again, Logan struck hard, knocking Gohan over. "You are getting the hang of this though kid."
"Thanks sir," Gohan said, standing back up. "Alright, let's keep fighting!"
Gohan and Logan spent the next couple of hours with their training, Logan stopping to give Gohan a few pointers on occasion and tips to help hone his skills better.
Piccolo seemed almost impressed by Logan's knowledge, the man having more martial arts skill than he gave him credit for.
That night by a campfire, the three had taken a break, Gohan looking a little banged up but in high spirits while he ate his apple. Logan sat nearby, checking his claws while Piccolo attempted to meditate.
"You're a lot stronger than I thought you'd be Mr. Logan," Gohan said. "How many fights have you been in?"
"Too many," Logan replied. "Hope yer ready fer what's to come."
"I think I'll be, uh so are you gonna fight with us?" Gohan asked.
"Sure why not?" Logan said. "If the planet's in danger then the right thing would be to keep it safe."
"Cool, you're like a hero then, fighting for the safety of others. That seems like fun actually," Gohan said.
"Gonna grow up to be a pro?" Logan asked.
"Um...maybe? My mom wants me to be a Great Scholar, so there's that too," Gohan said.
"Who says you can't be both?" Logan replied. "Life is what you make of it, kid."
"Don't get your hopes too high, the future is still uncertain," Piccolo said.
"Nothing wrong with a few goals, if anything it will motivate him to fight, to ensure he has the future he wants to have," Logan said. "Anyone has the potential to shape their own future."
"You're really smart," Gohan said.
"Eh, just feels like common sense to me," Logan said. "Anyway, hurry and finish eating so you can get to sleep. Seems like you have a long day of training ahead."
"Sounds good to me," Gohan said as he finished up his meal.
Gohan eventually found himself sound asleep, with Logan amazed by the process this boy showed.
"Gotta say, this is one tough kid," Logan said.
"I should hope so, I haven't been training him to get stronger out of the kindness of my heart," Piccolo said.
"Them Saiyans really got you worked up, huh?" Logan asked. "Honestly, if things get bad, there's plenty of people who can fight them off."
"Tch, you mean those superheroes I keep hearing about?" Piccolo asked. "No chance, that one Saiyan disrespected me months ago, so I intend to make an example out of his buddies. Besides, I don't think your precious Avengers are any match for those beasts."
"They ain't precious to me, pal," Logan said as he pulled out a cigar. "Though at least two of them have my respect."
"That so? Which ones?" Piccolo asked.
"Captain America for starters," Logan said as he lit the cigar. "The two of us go way back. Before them aliens, there was Hydra."
"Hydra? I'm not sure if I'm familiar with them," Piccolo said.
"Just a bunch of punks," Logan said as he puffed his cigar. "Cap's a boy scout sometimes, but he's got guts. I respect that."
"If he's earning your praise, he must be impressive," Piccolo said. "Who's the other one?"
"Thor, the God of Thunder," Logan said.
"A God of Thunder?" Piccolo asked. "I won't lie, that actually impresses me a little."
"Not the biggest fan of the guy personally, but it's hard to ignore that power," Logan said. "At least he uses it for good. He's a better man than us mortals most of the time."
"Well, now I know who to look out for when I take over this planet," Piccolo said.
"Tch, you still on that?" Logan asked. "Do you even want to take over? Or are you doing it because it's what your daddy wanted?"
"Watch yourself," Piccolo warned as he stood up. "I'm going to do some more training on my own. You can do whatever you want from this point on for all I care."
"Hey now, I didn't hurt yer feelings...did I?" A smug Logan asked.
"Don't make me vaporize you," Piccolo warned just as he flew off.
"...That guy don't make a lot of sense sometimes," Logan said as he puffed his cigar again. "Still, I don't think he's got that evil in him."
Around this point in Other World, Gohan's father Goku had reached the end of Snake Way, and had just met the legendary deity, King Kai.
"Before we begin, we'll need to work on your training regimen," King Kai said. "How long do you plan on staying?"
"Uh..." Goku took a moment to think it over. "I don't remember how many days I was on Snake Way, but I don't think I have that much time left. See, the Saiyans are on their way to my planet. When they get there, everyone I know will be in a lot of trouble. I don't know anyone powerful enough to stand up against them. So I need to spend every second I have training to beat them."
"Saiyans huh? Yeah, they're a nasty bunch. Not a group I would tangle with," King Kai said. "But I'd still like to know how much time you have, let me check on where the Saiyans are now."
"Huh?" Goku said as King Kai used his antennas to search for Goku's foes.
"Okay..." As King Kai searched, he saw a pair of pods passing by a distant planet. "That's them alright. Based on their speed and position, I'd say they're due to arrive on Earth in one hundred and fifty-eight days."
"That soon!?" Goku asked. "How could you even know that!?"
"These antenna get all the channels, baby! Like a TV, get it!?" King Kai joked before bursting into a fit of laughter. Upon not seeing Goku laugh, King Kai immediately stopped and walked off. "I can't train someone who doesn't have a sense of humor."
Goku then started fake laughing, "Oh, I get it now!"
"Good," King Kai said with a smirk.
"Wait, if you're sure that I only have one hundred and fifty-eight days, I don't have much time to train, do I?" Goku asked.
"Well, I'd like more, but I can make it work," King Kai said.
"Seriously?" Goku asked.
"Training for 158 days is worth years on Earth," King Kai reassured.
"Wow really!? That's awesome!" Goku said.
"Just know this," King Kai said. "The best training won't guarantee a victory, just know that now. In particular, the two Saiyans on their way to Earth are among the strongest in the universe. In fact, these Saiyans may be even more powerful than me."
"More than you!?" Goku asked. "You're not joking?"
"Not this time," King Kai said. "If you want a chance to win, you will need to surpass me in strength. You'll have your work cut out for you."
"Uh..." Goku replied in disbelief. This was going to be a task, but Goku couldn't afford to slack off. He was determined to win and save his planet.
Time continued to pass by on Earth. Logan would often make himself comfortable not too far away while Piccolo trained Gohan.
One sunset, the two were fighting hard and putting their all into their training. Gohan had definitely improved in this time, even being able to land a blow on Piccolo.
"Not bad," Piccolo said, then immediately sucker punched the boy. "But don't stop!"
This attack knocked Gohan into the river, the boy doing his best to swim onto a rock while Piccolo landed on the structure.
"Please help!" Gohan called as he reached his hand out. "I can't swim! I'll drown!"
Piccolo helped Gohan out of the water, then immediately went on the attack, "Drowning is the least of your worries!"
Gohan did his best to block the strikes but got knocked back and fell into the water once more.
Logan looked down below, the man feeling a hint of worry, "That boy's gotten strong, and I can tell his trainer is aware. I just hope things don't get too carried away."
Gohan managed to bring himself back to safety, while Piccolo looked on in concern, "Seems like his true power only comes out during the full moon, so I'll have to push him even harder."
Piccolo would not forget what happened months prior, when Gohan transformed into a Great Ape due to the exposure from the Full Moon. The moon was destroyed, and Gohan's tail was gone, so there was no immediate threat, but that came at the cost of Gohan's current power.
Later that night, a beat-up Gohan sat by the campfire, still feeling the effects of the river as he sneezed.
"At least the last six months ran the crybaby out of you," Piccolo said.
"Yeah, I guess," Gohan said.
"I gotta say kid," A nearby Logan commented. "Yer a hell of a lot tougher than most men I know."
"Thanks sir," Gohan said, then focused on his trainer. "By the way Mr. Piccolo, is it true that you and my dad used to be enemies a long time ago?"
"That fight is far from over," Piccolo said. "Once the Saiyans are defeated, should that be possible, I intend to pick up where we left off."
"Thing is that my dad would say that since you were reborn, you're not as bad as you used to be," Gohan said. "He says you're more grumpy than evil."
"Tch..." Piccolo was not pleased, his displeasure was felt even more when he heard Logan snickering nearby.
"Lost yer touch there, Great King Piccolo?" Logan taunted.
"Watch it, unless you want to be next," Piccolo said. "Don't make any mistake, I'm still the Demon King."
"I don't know about that," Gohan said. "It sounds like dad was right about you not being so evil. My mom's still scared of you though."
"Just stop blabbering and go to sleep!" Piccolo shouted, scaring Gohan in the process. "If you thought today was rough, just wait until you see what I've got planned for you tomorrow!"
"Uh, yes sir!" Gohan said.
"I'll leave you two be," Logan said as he was about to leave.
"Wait, Mr. Logan," Gohan said. "I gotta know, do any of your friends know about the Saiyans?"
"I ain't got many friends kid," Logan said.
"If you have allies, at least let them know," Piccolo said. "Don't hog everything to yourself."
"Don't worry about that, bub," Logan said. "Just make sure you and the kid here are ready."
"We will," Piccolo said. He then thought back to the World Tournament from years ago, remember one main with black hair who seemed to like cooking, and a blonde friend with a goofy hairstyle and an affinity for motorcycles. "Even those Iron Fist morons might actually be useful at a time like this. That so-called Best in the Universe guy can at least try to prove his claim."
Logan leapt off, hoping that this Saiyan Threat would be dealt with soon. Of course he expected that if things got really bad, the Avengers would show up, much as part of him hated to admit that.
Five months had passed since Gohan began his training with Piccolo, but those five months would soon be put to the test, and sooner than expected.
Two strong powers were sensed by many warriors, from Yamcha, to Krillin, to Yadjorobe and to Tien Shinhan and Chaiotzu.
"Tien...I'm scared!" Chiaotzu commented.
"Dammit, they weren't supposed to be here for another month!" Tien lamented.
Piccolo also felt this, the man standing beside his student Gohan. "The Saiyans are here..."
"And they're stronger than us...aren't they?" Gohan asked.
Logan also sensed a dread in the air, the man clenching his hands against his forearms. "Something tells me we're about to get into the fight of our lives..."
Two Saiyan Pods landed in a populated city, startling the residents as they slowly gathered around to see what had just arrived.
Slowly but surely, two Saiyans began to emerge, a big bald one and a smaller one. After almost a year, Nappa and Vegeta had finally arrived on Earth, and the Z-Warriors were for the fight of their lives.
