Chapter 2: Unlikely Allies
Alex had just stepped out of the library, his mind still racing from the fight with the Tyrannodrones. The chaos they had caused weighed heavily on him, and Hermione's questions lingered in his thoughts. He hadn't meant for anyone at Hogwarts to see his Ranger side, but now the secret was out, at least with her.
He took a deep breath, trying to shake off the tension. As he turned a corner in one of the quieter hallways, he nearly collided with two familiar figures—Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.
"Oi, watch it!" Ron exclaimed, stumbling back a step before realizing who it was. "Wait, you're that new guy, aren't you? Alex, right?"
"Yeah, that's me," Alex replied, trying to steady himself. He glanced at Harry, who was eyeing him curiously, his wand tucked into his robes but always within reach.
"What are you doing wandering around the castle like this?" Harry asked, his tone more inquisitive than accusatory. "You looked like you were in a hurry."
Alex hesitated for a moment. He wasn't sure how much he could say without raising too many questions. "Just needed some air," he said quickly. "The library was... intense."
Ron raised an eyebrow. "The library? That's Hermione's domain. What were you doing in there? Studying for fun?" He chuckled, clearly amused by the idea.
"Something like that," Alex replied, forcing a grin. "I was... helping her with a project."
Harry's green eyes narrowed slightly. "You're not telling us the whole truth, are you?"
Before Alex could respond, the ground beneath their feet trembled slightly, and a low, metallic growl echoed down the hallway. All three of them froze.
"What was that?" Ron whispered, his hand instinctively reaching for his wand.
Alex's heart sank. He knew that sound all too well. "We need to move," he said urgently. "Now."
Before they could take another step, three Tyrannodrones rounded the corner, their glowing red eyes locking onto the group. They let out a mechanical screech and charged forward, their claws slicing through the air.
"Bloody hell!" Ron shouted, pulling out his wand. "What are those things?"
"Tyrannodrones," Alex muttered, stepping in front of them. "Stay back. I've got this."
"Stay back?" Harry repeated, his voice sharp. "You're mental if you think we're just going to stand here and let you fight those things alone."
Alex didn't have time to argue. He pulled out his Morpher and activated it in one swift motion. "It's Morphin' Time!" he called out, his Spinosaurus Dino Gem glowing brightly as his suit materialized around him.
Harry and Ron stared in stunned silence as the transformation unfolded before their eyes. "What the—?" Ron started, but his words were cut off by the first Tyrannodrone lunging at them.
Alex moved fast, intercepting the attack and knocking the drone back with a powerful punch. "I told you to stay back!" he shouted over his shoulder as he ducked under another attack and countered with a spinning kick.
"Yeah, no chance of that happening," Harry said, raising his wand. "Stupefy!" A bright red jet of light shot from his wand, striking one of the Tyrannodrones and sending it stumbling backward.
Ron joined in, casting a series of spells that ricocheted off the metallic surfaces of the drones. "These things are tougher than they look!" he yelled, narrowly dodging a swipe from one of their claws.
Alex gritted his teeth, landing another blow on the nearest drone. "You think?" he shot back, his voice laced with both frustration and determination. He wasn't used to fighting alongside people who weren't Rangers, but Harry and Ron were holding their own surprisingly well.
The three of them worked together, their movements uncoordinated but effective. Alex took out one of the drones with a powerful energy blast from his Dino Saber, while Harry and Ron managed to incapacitate another with a combination of spells. The last drone hesitated for a moment, its red eyes flickering, before turning and retreating down the hallway.
Alex lowered his weapon, his breathing heavy. "Well, that was fun," he muttered sarcastically.
Harry and Ron turned to him, their faces a mix of confusion and curiosity. "All right," Harry said, his tone firm. "You've got some explaining to do. What are you?"
Alex hesitated, glancing between the two of them. He had a feeling this conversation was inevitable, but that didn't make it any easier. "I'm... a Power Ranger," he said finally. "And those things? They're not supposed to be here."
Ron blinked. "A Power what?"
"A Power Ranger," Alex repeated. "I'm part of a team that fights to protect Earth from threats like them. But this..." He gestured to the hallway, still littered with debris from the fight. "This wasn't supposed to happen here. Hogwarts isn't their territory."
Harry frowned, his mind clearly racing. "And why are you at Hogwarts, then? Are you here because of them?"
"Not exactly," Alex admitted. "I came here to learn, just like everyone else. But if they're showing up here, it means something's wrong. Really wrong."
Ron crossed his arms, still looking skeptical. "So what now? You just keep fighting these things and hope for the best?"
Alex shook his head. "No. I need to figure out why they're here and stop them before things get worse." He looked at Harry and Ron, his expression serious. "But I can't do it alone."
Harry exchanged a glance with Ron before nodding. "Then you've got us. We'll help."
Ron groaned but gave a small, reluctant smile. "Great. More trouble. Just what we needed."
Alex couldn't help but grin. "Thanks, guys. I think we're going to need all the help we can get."
