Chapter 3:
The three have entered the house. Jackie then learns something. "According to this, a chosen priestess received tattoos emblematic of a person's grief, eventually being impaled in a sacred chamber so her spirit would carry the grief into the afterlife. The last priestess, Reika, was in love with a previous priestess's child Kaname and volunteered for the role as she thought him dead from an earthquake," says Jackie.
"Tattoo," asks Jade, "like the one I got?"
"You let your niece get a tattoo," asks Max.
"A ghost forced it," says Jackie, "wait... Jade... you might have been made a chosen priestess!"
"I'm not even religious," says Jade.
"Considering what we... have seen, maybe you should start," says Jackie.
"Fair point," says Jade.
Jackie then reads something else. "When Kaname visited her after the ritual to comfort her, he was murdered by the Kuze Shrine high priestess for his trespass, causing the tattoos' power to overwhelm Reika and destroy the Kuze Shrine," says Jackie.
They then heard a moan. "That might be Reika herself," says Max.
The ghost was in the house, and it was after them...
