A/N: Hey everyone. So, I know the world of the Sonic comics being brought into the movies is a major case of wishful thinking, but that's what fanfiction is for. Lol. Hope you all enjoy my attempt to bring these two worlds together.
There was a time in his life when what Sonic just witnessed would've made his jaw drop. Being surrounded by an army of robotic lookalikes bent on his destruction only to be saved by a mysterious pink hedgehog wielding a giant hammer certainly wasn't on his bingo card for the year. These days though, the whole situation now felt very 'whatever' to the blue blur.
"Well, move over, Xena," Sonic said to the mysterious warrior as he picked himself up and surveyed the downed bots. "Of course, I could've taken these things out myself, but I am grateful," he continued then extended his hand. "My name is…is…," he stopped when he got a good look at the pink hedgehog's expression. Sonic never thought he would use this word, but it was the only way he could describe how she looked. She looked positively…giddy.
"Um, are you ok?" Sonic asked.
"Oh. My. GOD!" The pink hedgehog exclaimed and dove forward tackling Sonic to the ground in a big bear hug. "I never thought I'd get a chance to meet you, let alone touch you, Sonic!" She shouted in glee. "This is the happiest moment of my life!"
"Uh, always pleased to meet a fan, but who are you, and would you please get off?" The confused Sonic politely asked.
"Oh, I-uh…I'm sorry," she apologized and let go of Sonic before standing back up. Sonic chuckled to himself as he saw whomever this hedgehog was try and put on a more serious look. "My name is Amy Rose," she introduced.
"Pleased to meet you, Amy Rose. Well, I've seen enough movies to realize what just transpired wasn't a coincidence, so, how did you know to save me at this exact location at this exact minute?"
"That's a story for another time. What's important is why I'm here. I'm here to take you home," Amy revealed.
"…excuse me?" Sonic asked.
"Your home. It needs you."
"Wait. Tom, Maddie, Knuckles, Tails! Did something happen to them!?" Sonic panicked.
"No, not your Earth home," Amy clarified. "Your true home. As I said, it needs you. WE need you."
Sonic for the first time in his life felt compelled to stay rooted to the spot and stood their dumbfounded at this woman's declaration for a solid fifteen seconds before shaking his head to get his focus back. "I can't believe I'm about to say this, but you need to slow down. You're at an 11 and I need you to be at a, well, I won't say 1 because I could never go that slow. How about you bring it down to, say, a 3.5."
"I'm sorry," Amy apologized again. "It's just that-oh this is so exciting," she giggled.
"Ok, maybe it would be best if we continued this conversation back where I live. How fast can you run?" Sonic asked.
"About 10 times faster than the average Mobian," Amy replied.
Sonic's eyes widened in shock. "Mobian," Sonic breathed out. That was a word he hadn't heard in years.
She definitely wasn't bluffing about being from his original home if she knew that word. And just like that, Sonic saw himself back on the island where he spent the first few years of his life; racing through the luscious fields, playing on the sandy beaches, and just in general living it up without a care in the world. Ok, there were some cares in the world, what with people hunting him and Longclaw down, but they had each other and that's all that mattered. Sonic felt his heart sting at the thought of Longclaw. He would've given anything for her to be able to see Earth and its wonders; to meet the family he built. Without warning, he felt tears start to come down his face.
"Are you alright?" He heard Amy ask and he looked up at her. Gone was the face of the giddy fan girl and in its place was one of concerned sincerity.
"Me? Of course. Never better," Sonic fibbed and quickly tried to dry his tears. "Lucky for us, Amy, I'm, hm, I've never thought about putting a number to it before, but I'd say I'm 100 times faster than the average Mobian, so I can get us back to my place in no time. Do you mind if I carry you there?"
"Carry? Me? Ohhhh." And Amy fainted.
"Amy? Hello?" Sonic tried shaking her awake, but she was out like a light.
Again, Sonic's feet stayed locked in place while trying to absorb everything Amy just told him. He was already getting a major case of deja-vu remembering what it was like when Tails dropped into his life and how that lead to a battle for the Master Emerald. Now apparently his orginal home needs him?
My home? Mobius. Sonic thinks. Who could possibly need me there?
Sonic wracks his brain trying to think of who, but it all comes up as a big blank. The last time he was on Mobius practically nobody, but Longclaw and the Echinda Tribe knew who he was and they're both long dead.
"This is like some pop-culture reference I can't think of," Sonic said to himself; partially afraid to find out just what it is Amy came to retrieve him for. "I won't get any answers just standing here though. And here I thought nothing else would be capable of surprising me." With that, Sonic picked Amy up and in a streak of light raced back to Green Hills. As the light died down, a loud clanking sound could be heard approaching the sight of the destroyed Metal Sonics. A robot far larger than the others stopped next to one of the Metal Sonic heads and picked it up to scan it.
