Chapter 45
Fighting the Demon King's Army
After the battle with Garon had ended, the monsters had been eradicated as well. Those still loyal to Garon were arrested, while those who obeyed him out of fear and were never loyal to him in the first place were granted pardons.
As people were cleaning up the place, Xander stood in front of the throne that his father once sat on with a solemn look of silence. Crown approached him from behind and said to him, "I take that you are the next in line to receive the throne now, since after all, you are his eldest son."
Xander nodded. "Indeed, and I will see to it that I fix all his mistakes and damages he caused and make Nohr the way it should be. There is a lot to do to make up for everything he has done."
"I have faith in you that you will be able to do it. You are not your father. You are someone more respectable!" Crown said to him. "But regardless, it must be tragic to lose someone related to you by blood. I understand the feeling of losing ones close to you, for where I come from, I have lost several allies over the years until I was the only one left, and then I became king of my own kingdom. However, even to this day, I wondered how things could've been different if I fought harder to protect my allies and subjects."
"Thank you for your comfort," said Xander as he turned to her. "I'm sure your allies and subjects are looking down on you from above now, proud to know what a good king and warrior you have become! Yes, as evil as my father was, I still felt grief seeing him die, but one cannot be in tears all the time. We have to let go of the past and move forward, learning from our past mistakes as well as others in order to become a better person."
"You can do it," said Corrin as she came forward. "The Xander where I am from is a strong person, and I am sure that you are just as strong as him! You will definitely be a good king and lead Nohr to a better future!"
"I would have like to meet the me you know about! It should make for an interesting interaction!" Xander said to her.
"It will definitely be interesting! Heheh!" said Corrin, laughing a bit.
After this was over, the chosen heroes and the Hylian soldiers all returned to Hyrule. The people of Nohr remained in their own kingdom to help rebuild it.
"Garon has fallen to the Hylian Army?" Ganondorf said in surprise when he heard the news of the evil king's defeat from his servant, the brown-skinned woman in the black leotard.
"I'm afraid that this is the case, according to monsters who fled from Nohr all the way to here," said the servant.
"I cannot say I am too surprised. He was never a strong person, so this is no big loss anyway," said Ganondorf in an uncaring manner. "Still, this shows that the Hylian Army is a lot more powerful than we thought, especially now that they have the chosen heroes with them."
"What do we do now? If we let them be any longer, they will eventually come for us, and I fear for the worst when that happens..." the servant said to him.
Ganondorf thought for a while and then said, "Get the army ready. We are invading Hyrule and putting an end to that place now!"
Some time later...
Using a Travel Medallion, Chime appeared by Hyrule Castle. With a look of panic on her face, she rushed past the guards, who allowed her in, and made her way to the king. Panting heavily, she said, "Your majesty… Terrible news…!"
"What's wrong? Calm down and speak slowly," Rhoam said to her.
"The Demon King… Demon King… has sent his army…! They're on their way here!" she told him.
"What?!" gasped the king, and everyone present in the throne room were in shock as well.
Link and Guillotine were walking together on an exterior walkway on the higher floor of Hyrule Castle when they came across a guard. The guard said to Guillotine, "Thanks for helping me that time at Nohr Castle!"
"You're welcome, and you should be honored to be rescued by the One-Winged Dark Lord that is I," she told him with a smug look. "It's not something that happens often, so cherish it while you can and tell others about me. For all I know, the praise that I receive from others will make me strong enough to challenge the Demon King and Big O!"
The guard chuckled and said, "You're a funny little girl, aren't you? I'll be sure to tell everyone else about you! Take care!" He then left.
Link looked at Guillotine and said to her, "You are funny indeed. I don't mean it in a bad way, mind you, so no offense..."
Guillotine sighed and then said, "I don't like breaking character, but so you don't get the wrong impression about me… I'm not mentally insane. I'm aware of all my actions and how it annoys people, but I continue to put up the act of a delusional girl who sees the world around her as some sort of fantasy. I did it all as a form of escapism from the harsh moments of my life."
Slightly surprise, Link asked, "Why's that? What's wrong with your life?"
"Being a Nikke isn't easy… Discrimination towards Nikke is a common thing in my world, especially those who do fighting on the surface against Raptures. We were created to save the world and reclaim the surface, but for about a century, we have yet to succeed, so it's understandable that humans would lose faith in us and begin to hate us. Trust me; the glares humans give to us Nikke can be very hurtful…"
"I didn't know that…!" said Link in shock.
"I'm also part of a group called Extrinsic, which is dedicated to hunting down what we call Irregular Nikke, meaning Nikke that have gone insane and began hurting people, so they must be put down," continued Guillotine. "The process of transferring your brain into a machine is a very delicate process where anything can go wrong, even after a successful transferring. Chances are likely that stress, trauma, and even hacking from outside can cause a Nikke to go insane, becoming a dangerous entity that must be put down. That's where my job comes in, to hunt them down and kill them. Yes, I'm killing my own kind."
"That must be hard for you…" said Link, taking pity on her. "You must have been through a lot in your own world."
"That's why I created my own fantasy world so that I can see everything around myself as being, for a lack of better terms, more colorful and interesting. I know this can annoy people from time to time, but this is the only way I know for making myself feel better and not go mad from all the stress I face in my line of work," said Guillotine.
"Man, your world sounds really harsh… And I thought my world was harsh because of the Demon King once taking over it…" said Link. "I'm not sure what to say about this… All I can say is that I hope for your best in saving your world from these Raptures and that Nikke get the appreciation and love they deserve!"
"I'll that as words of kindness and thank you for it. For now, we have this world to worry about because of it's Demon King. For all I know, Big O followed me to this world to cause havoc, and I'm going to see to it that he doesn't get what he wants!" said Guillotine with a smirk, once again returning to her own "fantasy world."
As they continued walking down the walkway, Link noticed something in the distance. "Huh, is a storm brewing?" he wondered when he saw dark clouds building up in the distance.
News about the Demon King arriving soon spread throughout the castle, and needless to say, people were nervous and panicking about what to do. The chosen heroes were all together before King Rhoam as he discussed with them and his soldiers on their next course of action. "I'd never thought that Ganondorf would launch a direct attack so suddenly… There is still time to take action before he arrives, so that's a good thing," he said.
"I'm ready to fight to protect this castle and everyone, your majesty!" said Cocoa with eyes of confidence while holding up a gun disguised as an umbrella.
Link stepped forward and said to the king, "It would be unwise to send a large army after them and leave the castle unprotected."
"I know, but you can't just send a small army there, or else you won't be able to win!" said Rhoam. "I'm going to contact the other races and also Nohr and see if they can help. Until they arrive, we will have to rely on ourselves."
"Why call on others when you have us? We're the best army you've got!" said Nihilister with confidence while pointing at herself with her thumb.
"Well, I do have confidence in my own fighting strength, even against an army," said Link, sounding proud.
"Nikke like us are used to fighting large armies, so we will hold them off for you and even end the fight for you," said Crown.
"You can count on me to build something that will completely blow those bad guys away!" Centi told the king.
"You heroes are very confident in yourselves, aren't you? That is the attitude a hero should have!" said Rhoam. "Still, it is not good if there are too little of you out there, so take a portion of my men with you." He then turned to Zelda and said to her, "Zelda, use your Sheikah Slate and contact the other races as fast as you can! We need all the help we can get for this!"
"I'm on it, father!" Zelda told him while holding up her Sheikak Slate.
"You can rely on us, your majesty! We will see to it that the Demon King and his army are repelled!" Corrin said with confidence to the king.
Ganondorf stood on top of of a cliff overlooking the army of monsters that were approaching Hyrule Castle. His female subordinate was standing behind him, watching the same thing. "Go and lead the army, and take enjoyment in destruction," Ganondorf said to the subordinate.
"Can I?" the woman asked him with a hint of excitement.
"Yes, I know your sadistic nature well, and it would please me to know that you are out there having fun. Show the royal family what happens to those who cross me," Ganondorf said to her.
"And what will you be doing?" the woman asked him.
"The chosen heroes may be trying to make their way to me, and I intend to battle them myself," replied Ganondorf. "I will wait here for a while and see if they will come first. Otherwise, I will go find them myself."
The subordinate nodded before jumping off the cliff, landing on top of a Talus that had a miniature wooden "fort" built on top of it. The stone monster then moved forward, with the woman commanding it from the fort.
Ganondorf looked at the soon-to-be battlefield and said with an evil smile, "I dare you to come, hero! I've been waiting to fight someone like you!"
What Ganondorf hoped for was soon to come true. The chosen heroes were ready and, after an army had been formed, rushed out in the fields to engage the approaching army of monsters. Crown rode Trombe speedily across the field, and flying above her was Corrin in her dragon form. Not far behind them, Link and Guillotine sat together on the Master Cycle Zero.
"We will hold them back, Link," Crown said to Link. "You go on ahead to the Demon King and smite him down. We will go and support you when we can."
"Thanks! Be careful!" Link said to her.
Up ahead, explosions could suddenly be seen as fire shot up into the air, and monsters were heard screaming in terror. "Looks like Nihilister got there before us," said Corrin.
"Well, then let us not miss out the fun!" said an enthusiastic Crown.
A large group of Hylian soldiers clashed against a group of monsters. Both sides fought intensely, and it was looking like the Hylian soldiers were having the upper hand when suddenly, a combination of fire, ice, and electric projectiles were fired from the sky onto them, wiping out some of them and injuring some.
They looked up and were horrified to see a large three-headed dragon, each head having only one eye. "It's a Gleeok!" one of them screamed out.
The Gleeok, or rather, King Gleeok, attacked with elemental beams, blasting the ground below himself and wiping out a large amount of soldiers, with some monsters getting caught in the blast too. The remaining soldiers fled for their lives, shouting about how they would never be able to beat that thing by themselves.
As they were fleeing, something approached the dragon. It was a vehicle resembling a monster truck, and on top of it was a large mounted gun. Centi was driving the thing from the inside, while Exia sat next to her with a Sheikah Slate in her hand.
"Whoa, a three-headed dragon…!" said Exia in awe and slight fear.
"It looks imposing all right, but is it a match for my latest creation? Let's find out!" said Centi with enthusiasm. She drove underneath the King Gleeok and continued onward, and the dragon saw her and gave chase.
BGM: Dinosaur Boss Battle (Hyrule Warriors)
As she drove away from King Gleeok, Centi steered the vehicle left and right constantly to avoid the elemental attacks launched by each of the dragon's head. Next to Centi, Exia had a look of nervousness and panic as she clutched the Sheikah Slate tightly against her chest.
"This is a lot more intense than I thought it would…!" said the gamer Nikke.
"Come on, it's not that bad! It's no different from fighting Raptures! Think of it as a more extreme version, and I'm loving it!" said Centi with an excited look on her face. "If it helps, think of it as playing a video game!"
"I've never played a video game where my life is literally at stake!" replied Exia loudly.
An electric blast from King Gleeok struck the part of the ground just behind the vehicle, causing it to be propelled into the air and back down with a thud, and it continued to move forward. "Whoa! That was close!" said Centi. "All right, Exia, start giving it your best shot!"
Still panicking, Exia looked at the Sheikah Slate, which contained instructions for what the vehicle had to do, and all of them involved attacking. She pressed the touch screen, and in doing so, the gun attached to the top of the vehicle began firing blasts of energy rapidly at King Gleeok.
The three-headed dragon stopped in his tracks when he was shot rapidly, and he cried in pain as he flew away, but the gun aimed after him and kept on firing. When he tried to escape to a distance, Centi drove after him. "You're not getting away!" she said.
Now it was the Nikke's turn to chase the dragon. As King Gleeok continued to fly away while getting shot, two of its heads looked back and fired ice and electric at the vehicle, but Centi drove left and right to avoid getting shot.
"Keep on firing, Exia! Leave everything else to me!" Centi told her partner.
As the gun continued to fire at King Gleeok, the latter flew higher into air and slowed down to let the vehicle pass by underneath himself, and then he began chasing it again. This time, some of his shots managed to hit the vehicle and shake it. However, it remained in one piece and continued moving. "Whoa! A direct hit!" said Centi in surprise.
"We're going to get killed if we keep on getting hit!" cried Exia.
"Then we'll have to take down that thing before it gets to us!" said Centi. "Give it more firepower!"
Exia pressed a command on the Sheikah Slate, and this caused the gun to reassemble itself into a slightly different shape. Once it was done reassembling, it fired two missiles at King Gleeok, only to miss, as the dragon flew out of the way. Exia growled in frustration as she pressed the command to shoot missiles again.
Two more missiles were fired at King Gleeok, but rather than dodging them, King Gleeok caught them both with his hands, or front legs. Seeing this from the rear mirror, Centi said, "Didn't know it could do that…"
King Gleeok hurled the missiles back at the vehicle, and their explosions tossed the whole thing into the air. The vehicle fell back down and tumbled along the ground violently for a while before coming to a stop on its wheels. Inside, Centi and Exia were shaken and a bruised from the violent rocking. "Ow… That was intense…" said Centi while rubbing her head.
King Gleeok stopped in the air behind it, and each of his heads charged up elemental attacks to get ready to give the Nikke the finishing blow. However, it was interrupted by Crown riding on Trombe firing from her lance at his body. Seeing this distraction, the dragon turned his attention to her and fired in her direction instead, but the mechanical horse carried its master out of harm's way.
"We have to help her!" said Centi from inside the vehicle.
"The controls are busted after the tumbling just now…" said Exia, looking at the messed up screen of her Sheikah Slate.
Centi took the slate from her and looked at it. "I'll get this fixed in no time. You go out there and support her the best you can in the meantime!"
Trombe ran in circles around King Gleeok as Crown fired at the dragon rapidly. The dragon looked at her in frustration and then flapped his wings as hard as he could to unleash a powerful gust of wind strong enough to even make a mechanical horse like Trombe almost lose his footing.
The wind was strong that Crown was actually blown off the horse and tumbled onto the ground. Seeing this, King Gleeok reached over to her with one arm in her direction, ready to either grab her or crush her against the ground.
However, he was interrupted by a shot to one of his head by a bullet. Looking to the side, he saw Exia hiding behind a rock with her sniper rifle pointing at him. The dragon roared in anger before flying in her direction while breathing fire, and Exia ran out of her hiding spot in terror. "Don't come after me!" she cried. The fire struck the ground behind her and blasted her forward.
Exia hit the ground and rolled forward like a tumbleweed until she came to a stop from hitting a tree and was in an upside-down position. Her shirt fell over, covering her upper body and thus giving onlookers a full view of her black panties.
King Gleeok stopped in front of her and was going to attack when it was shot in the back of the head. Turning around, he saw Centi with her vehicle properly patched up once again, having used its gun to fire at him. "Hey you! Try this one for a size!" she said as she pressed a command on the Sheikah Slate to switch the gun into a missile launcher. She tried to launch missiles, but an error occurred instead, so nothing was fired. "What the?!"
King Gleeok ignored Exia and approached her, beginning to charge up elemental attacks in each of his. Inside the vehicle, Centi kept on pressing the slate in hopes of getting the missiles fired. "I don't understand! It should be fixed already! What's wrong?! Fire already, will ya?!"
King Gleeok was close to firing when suddenly a pair of missiles were fired from the gun, and it flew into the electric and ice heads just as they were about to shoot. Because of the blockage combined with the missiles exploding at point blank, explosions occurred that blasted off both those heads, leaving the dragon with only one head that cried in pain while breathing fire high into the air.
"Yeah! Just in time!" exclaimed Centi.
King Gleeok continued to cry in pain while shaking around his remaining head, while the stumps of his other two necks let out purple smoke nonstop. Meanwhile, Exia pointed her sniper rifle at the remaining head, and after taking a good aim at his single eye, she said, "Partisan Protocol."
She pulled the trigger and fired a bullet that glowed with a purple light. It soared through the air and struck the Gleeok's eye, piercing through it and coming out the back of his head.
With that, the Gleeok cried in pain one last time before collapsing on the ground, and then his whole body exploded into purple smoke.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
BGM Ends
"All right! We did it!" exclaimed Centi, throwing her arms into the and hitting the ceiling of the vehicle interior.
Exia sighed with relief as she sat down onto the ground. "Phew… I don't want to play this kind of video game again..."
Ganondorf's female subordinate was still riding on top of the Talus, watching the fight going on before her, when she suddenly heard someone shouting her name.
"INDIVILIA!" shouted a woman at the top of her voice.
The woman looked and saw Nihilister jumping towards her and firing from her dragon cannons. She acted fast and jumped backwards off the Talus to avoid the shots, while the rock monster was blown to bits right away. Nihilister landed where she previously shot and then stood up, glaring at her. "Indivilia!" she said to her in anger.
"Who are you?" the woman asked her.
"Huh, so you're not the same Indivilia I know, but it matters not! As long as you look the same as her, I'll be glad to beat the crap out of you for what the other you did to me!" said Nihilister with a smirk while cracking her fists.
