It was a cold and foggy January afternoon at the Lelystad train station Burger King restaurant, and Sonic and his family were once again busy serving their loyal customers the mouth-watering fast food they've come to expect from the place. Manic was once again busy manning the cash register when a familiar face he hadn't seen in a long time proceeded to come through the door of the restaurant and walk up to the counter; Me, the author himself, Alexneushoorn!
Manic grinned upon seeing me. "If it ain't Alexneushoorn! It's been aeons since I've last seen ya! What can I get ya, ol' dog?" The green hedgehog asked in an excited tone of voice.
"Yo, Manic. It's been a long time indeed. Anyway, I'll have a Whopper, a small Strawberry King Shake and a large Strawberry King Shake to go, since my mom and dad are waiting outside the train station." I told Manic with a smile, with the green hedgehog nodding as he punched in the total amount onto the credit card scanner and I proceeded to pay for the food.
As the order came into the kitchen and Sally and Ezekiel began working on it, Manic decided to chat it up a bit with me while we both waited. "So, Alexneushoorn. I ain't seen ya 'round Lelystad much in the last year or so. Where ya been?" The green hedgehog asked me curiously.
"Well, I've been frequenting Burger King's location down in Zwolle much more often in the last year or two whenever I've been hungry for Whoppers or any of Burger King's other delicious snacks, seeing as Zwolle's Burger King location is right off the nearby highway, which makes it easier to travel towards compared to the one down here at the Lelystad train station." I explained to Manic, with Manic nodding in understanding.
"Yeah, I feel ya, man. Some Burger King joints 'round the Netherlands get more customers comin' in compared to ours due to havin' much more conveniently placed areas, such as right off a highway or in a carpool right next to the highway. Sure, we might be located at a train station ourselves, but if you ain't a regular train traveler like you, then it's a bit more difficult to come on down here an' snag yourself a mouth-waterin' Whopper." Manic replied as he knew where I was coming from.
"Exactly. That said, I kinda missed coming on down here to see you and your family and making small talk. I was out for a ride with my mom and dad, and given that we happened to be in the area, my dad suggested stopping by here to grab a burger and some shakes." I explained once more.
Manic laughed at that. "Your pa knows ya way too well, dude. Consider yourself blessed with a pa like that." The green hedgehog told me with a grin.
"Believe me, Manic. I do consider myself blessed with a dad like him. Always will." I assured Manic with a smile. Soon, Sally and Ezekiel came out of the kitchen with the food and drinks, and they neatly packed it up into a paper hand bag before handing it to me.
"Here you go, Alexneushoorn. One Whopper, a small Strawberry King Shake and a large Strawberry King Shake to go." Sally told me with a light smile.
"Yeah, thanks for stopping by again after such a long time, yo." Ezekiel chimed in with a lazy grin.
"It was my pleasure, guys. Don't work so hard, y'hear?" I smiled and waved before heading back out the same door I came in and leaving the train station with my order.
"Man, am I glad to have finally seen Alexneushoorn's silly face again after such a long time." Manic sighed happily with a smile.
"Yes, it's certainly been a while since he last graced us with his presence." Sally chimed in her agreement.
"Tell me about it! Having him coming by here after such a long time is like welcoming a friend back, yo!" Ezekiel spoke up with excitement.
"Well, there ain't much time to dwell on that, 'cause we got more customers to serve, guys. Let's keep movin', yeah?" Manic suggested, with Sally and Ezekiel nodding in agreement as everyone got back to work.
