So, this is my new story. It'll follow through the Kingdom Hearts timeline, adding my own character I thought up a long time ago, just was debating doing this or not. So, I hope you like it. And I believe those of you who are into Kingdom Hearts know what the characters look like so no need for descriptions, right? At least not for Sora, Kairi and Riku.
Somewhere dark a young boy named Sora was drifting underwater.
"I've been having these weird thoughts, lately," Sora thought to himself. "Like is any of this for real, or not?"
He continued drifting unconscious, until suddenly he found himself standing on the beaches of the Destiny Islands.
Out in the water, Sora put a hand up to shield his eyes from the light and saw his friend Riku, just standing and looking to the horizon.
Sora attempted to walk out to him, only to stop once he saw the tide. And then he looked back towards Riku and saw a wave of water coming up.
Riku then turned around to see his friend standing on the beach, and he held out his hand to him.
Sora quickly ran to his friend, only for the wave to come crashing down, submerging them both in water. Riku stood in place and held his hand out to Sora once more.
The younger boy tried swimming towards his friend, but the current proved to be just too strong and swept Sora away.
Sometime later, as the sun started to set Sora arose from the water and looked to the shore to see his friend Kairi waving to him on the beach. Sora waved back and made his way to shore. Once at the shore he looked up to Kairi with a smile, earning a giggle from her. But Kairi looked to the skies with a puzzled expression. Sora followed her gaze and saw what she was looking to. Him falling from the skies!
Sora could only stare in shock as he then fell into the water, Kairi calling out to him in worry, and the young boy found himself drifting down through the darkness once more. Until he finally seemed to hit a solid surface, which then lit up as many birds flew up and he found himself standing on a green platform with the image of a young maiden named Snow White.
So much to do. So little time. Take your time. Don't be afraid.
The door is still shut.
Now step forward. Can you do it?
Sora did so and walked forward listening for the voice to speak again.
A gray platform then appeared from the ground and on it appeared a red and black shield.
Power sleeps within you.
Another platform appeared with a staff.
If you give it form...
A third platform appeared with a sword.
It will give you strength. Choose well.
Sora viewed over all three weapons and picked the staff.
The power of the mystic. Inner strength. A staff of wonder and ruin. Is this the power you seek?
"Yes," Sora said, and the staff vanished in a flash of light.
Your path is set. Now what will you give up in exchange?
Sora walked over to the platform containing the sword.
The power of the warrior. Invincible courage. A sword of terrible destruction. You give up this power?
"Yes," Sora answered once more, making the sword vanish as well.
You've chosen the power of the mystic. You've given up the power of the warrior. Is this the form you choose.
"Yes," Sora said.
In seconds the platforms all started to sink into the ground, and the ground began to shatter to pieces, sending the young boy falling into the dark abyss. Soon after another platform came into view, one purple with another maiden named Cinderella.
Sora landed firmly on his feet onto the new platform and the staff he chose earlier before, reappeared in his hand.
You've gained the power to fight.
Sora then took a swing with his new weapon.
All right you've got it. Use this power to protect yourself and others.
Sora looked all around his surroundings and form the ground appeared a flat pitch-black creature with an antenna on its head and yellow glowing eyes. Shortly after more identical creatures begun to appear as well.
There will be times you have to fight. Keep your light burning strong.
The creatures prepared to attack, and with his weapon Sora successfully destroyed one of them, while the others sunk back into the ground and vanished from sight. But then one reappeared behind Sora to try and sneak attack him.
Behind you!
Sora continued to fight the strange creatures until they started sinking into the ground, in puddles of shadows. Those shadows begun to spread across the entire platform, pulling Sora down under. As he regained consciousness, he found himself on a new pink platform and straight in front of him was a see-through door.
He walked over to try and go through, only to find it wouldn't open.
"I can't open it," the young boy thought to himself and turned around to see a small red and gold treasure chest appear.
Sora went to the chest and tapped it, opening the chest which was unfortunately empty.
From behind him once more, a large brown crate appeared, after which he pushed it and then smashed it, releasing a small purple and yellow item revealing to be a potion. After picking it up, the door's hinges turned solidified and then a barrel appeared.
Sora picked up the barrel and tossed it away, and no sooner afterwards did the door fully solidify as well.
He returned to the door, which then opened on its own, releasing a very bright light.
As the light faded, Sora found himself back on the islands, surrounded by his three friends, Tidus, Selphie and Wakka.
Hold on. The door won't open just yet. First, tell me more about yourself.
Sora first approached Selphie, and she asked him, "What's most important to you?"
"Friendship," Sora responded.
"Is friendship really such a big deal?" Selphie responded.
Sora then walked towards Tidus who asked, "What are you so afraid of?"
"Being indecisive," Sora replied.
"Being indecisive? Is that really so scary?"
And finally, Sora walked towards Wakka, who asked, "What do you want out of life?"
"To see rare sights," said Sora.
"To see rare sights, huh?"
You want friendship. You are afraid of being indecisive. You want to see rare sights. Your adventure begins at midday. Keep a steady pace and you'll come through just fine.
"Sounds good," Sora said.
The day you will open the door is both far off and very near.
Sudden Sora found himself back in the Station of Awakening on a red platform with a maiden named Aurora. He looked up to the light that came from the top when suddenly more of those pitch-black creatures begun to appear. He quickly pulled out his weapon and begun to fight them off. Once they were all defeated a circle of light appeared and Sora stood on it.
After a moment what looked to be a searchlight appeared and moved across the floor, to the end of the platform, where a bunch of multicolored steps appeared, leading up to yet another platform.
Sora quickly took those steps, which disappeared behind him as he proceeded and made it to the yellow platform, with the image a young woman named Belle along with a brown furry beast. And this new platform was much closer to the light coming from above.
The closer you get to light, the greater your shadow becomes.
On the floor Sora's shadow had grown very long, and then it arose from the ground. Sora backed up in fear as his shadow became a monster with yellow eyes, sharp claws, flowing tendrils on its head and a heart shaped hole on the center of its body.
But don't be afraid. And don't forget.
Sora turned to run only to find there was no place to run and almost fell over the edge of the platform. He looked back to the monster and knew the only choice he had was to fight as he drew his weapon.
After some time of battling the large black creature, Sora jumped back, and his weapon disappeared. He fell backwards as the creature slammed its hands on the ground, conjuring a dark portal beneath Sora.
But don't be afraid.
The shadows begun to engulf Sora.
And don't forget. You hold the mightiest weapon of all.
Sora tried to fight his way out of the shadows, but it proved to be a fruitless effort as everything became pitch dark.
So, don't forget: You are the one who will open the door.
All right that'll be it for the opening chapter. I hope you like how I usually do it. I choose the staff in the opening because it's what allows me to get the Leaf Bracer and MP Rage abilities, and those abilities are what enable me to survive everything but the secret bosses in the game. They'd help if it wasn't for the bosses' cheating abilities that can end you easily if you get what I mean, but I've been able to beat them back different ways. Anyhow as for my OC, he won't be introduced till Traverse Town, because just a little spoiler, my OC is Leon's brother. Until next time please read, review and enjoy.
