"And that's what happened yesterday"
Naruto finished narrating yesterday's event. Shikamaru looked at Naruto with a curious look. "Why do you listen to this voice?" Naruto stopped. Why did he listen to the voice in his head? It was an odd thing, one of the oddest things ever to happen to him yet he kept on listening to it.
He didn't know why, it just felt instinctive as if he would always listen to it. "I don't know. I just never think about it. It's like I've always done it" Naruto said and Shikamaru sighed, he couldn't work much with that, however he could work on the fact that Naruto had said red. The chakra had been red and it had been powerful. Clearly the chakra and the voice was connected, how? And as Naruto had said the adults knew? All of it, so what was the one thing that everyone knew, what was the one thing that anyone could liken to a...demon.
Shikamaru's heart trembled. Oh shit.
"The Kyubi?"
Naruto's eyes widened, what? He looked at Shikamaru who stood up almost as if he had found some sort of epiphany.
"It's definitely is. It makes no other sense for it to be anything else. You told me that the lady...she said you killed her son?" Naruto nodded whilst Choji gave him a worried smile and he gave the other a reassuring smile. He had never killed anyone. His conscious was clean.
Shikamaru couldn't help but feel like everything was coming together, "Five years ago the Kyubi attacked our village and killed a lot of people. Everyone knows about it and everyone hates the Kyubi for it. You were born on that day right, but it wouldn't make sense for them to hate because of that. It would only make sense if you were somewhat related to the Kyubi, in a sense. I'm not sure how but that's the only thing I can connect. Moreover, you said that the chakra was red, the Kyubi!"
Naruto's heart skipped a beat. The Kyubi. He had never thought about it. He ran to his books in the corner and paged a book frantically, as he looked at the book that Tenzo had given him on the Uzumaki. There is was.
Everywhere.
Sealing. Sealing!? Dammit. So much Sealing. How did he miss it?
Because how and why would a big chakra beast like the Kyubi attack prematurely, everyone had a reason for what they did and for- Ha. The Uzumaki clan were a clan famous for sealing. And in the entire village there has been only two Uzumaki, Mito Uzumaki, his mother, and him.
"Naruto!"
He couldn't believe it. How has he missed such a detail. Sealing wasn't improbable and how the hell was his dad supposed to kill a ball of chakra! It was impossible! You had to contain it, and wasn't it lovely how the Uzumaki clan had the perfect monstrous chakra coils that could never burn to contain the freaking nine tailed fox.
"Naruto!"
It made sense now. A lot of things made sense. Including- ha! Naruto rolled up his shirt and stared at his friends as they all saw the black swirl on his stomach.
"W-what's this?" Choji asked and Naruto felt sick. "This is the sealing jutsu that holds the Kyubi in me" and when he had said it, the floodgates immediately opened.
"Then that voice?" Shikamaru whispered and Naruto felt sick. Why would he? Why would the Kyubi do that to Itachi, why would he-
"Naruto!" Shikamaru yelled and Naruto was stunned to find himself holding a Kunai to his wrist. If he stabbed it. "Don't worry Shikamaru, if I stab it, it'll heal" Shikamaru looked desperate and Choji was frozen in shock. "And don't worry about the ANBU, they may have increased surveillance but my room, has silencing seals, Kakashi and Tenzo did it for me one time when I had, when the Kyub-"
"-Your mother"
"What?" Naruto whispered as he neared the Kunai to his hand. He needed to feel something right now.
"What does she have anything to do with this?"
Shikamaru released a shaky breath, "t-the Kyubi told you your mother's name, Naruto" and Naruto stopped. That he did. He did do that. And Naruto couldn't help but laugh. "That he did, but, Shikamaru she also sealed it in me" and Naruto's heart felt like it was squeezing through a needle.
"That's not possible, she was too tired from giving birth, and it takes a lot to seal a huge ball of chakra"
Naruto laughed. "Then my father. He defeated it! And he sealed it in me. Why couldn't he just seal it in himself and die with it. He's done a pretty good job at messing up my life. I even have a godfather, do you know his name is Jiraya and he writes those pervy books that my actual dad reads. And then there's my godmother. She can't even say hi to me in the streets. They all left me Shikamaru, here, alone and with no one. I've once almost starved Shikamaru, do you know what that's like. To try and force yourself to sleep only to later know that your parents had money, have inheritance and it could have been used if the third Hokage was a good person! I had nothing Shikamaru! Nothing! They left me here with this!"
"Naruto"
Choji whispered desperately but Naruto couldn't stop, "Make no mistake I'm not even mad about the Kyubi, I'm sure it attacked because it saw its chance at freedom. Who wouldn't? I'm mad because they are praised so well and so high to the heavens and yet couldn't even send a note or an 'I'm so sorry that we did this. I'm sorry that we put you through this' nothing! No explanation and even something to tell me that they loved me"
"NARUTO STOP!"
