Sonic and Peter are now riding on the open road in his truck. He knew he was going to need to slow down eventually, but right now he needed to get out of town as fast as he could. He drove off and quickly left Green Hills, driving past the Welcome to Green Hills sign as they left the town.

"All right, you need to start talking right now," Peter tells Sonic. "Who are you? What are you?"

Sonic seemed confused by the question. "I'm a hedgehog! I feel like that's obvious." He commented, looking over himself. "And I'm in big trouble."

"Oh, you're in big trouble?" Peter scoffed. "You're not the one who punched some government weirdo back there. That's going to be fun explaining to Fury."

"You think you have problems?" Sonic asked as he stood up in his seat. "I lost my Rings!"

"Rings?" Peter asks. "What are you talking about?"

"Okay, Rings are how all advanced cultures travel between worlds." Sonic tried to explain to him.

Peter nodded. Sadly, this isn't the weirdest thing he has heard. "So, compressed dimensional vortexes like what Strange does with his powers?"

"I don't know what that means, but sure," Sonic shrugged. "And now mine are on top of a pointy building I've only ever seen on your skintight T-shirt."

Peter looked down and noticed that the suit was a little tight. "Okay..."

"So, I'd like you to take me to San Francisco so I can get back my Rings and use them to go to the Mushroom Planet," Sonic asks of him.

"Mushroom Planet," Peter repeats.

"Yes!" Sonic said.

"Right." Peter pulls over to the side of the road. "Okay, pal, we need to start from the beginning. Why are they chasing you? What did you do?"

"Uh..." Sonic didn't really want to admit it. "I may or may not have caused the blackout."

"How'd you do that?" Peter wonders.

"It's this power that I have," Sonic shrugged as he sat down. "I don't know why or how."

"And you've been hiding out in Green Hills because...?" Peter asks.

"It was nice. Nice people. And I can hide out in the woods so I'm not spotted." Sonic said.

"Okay, and you need to leave because...?" Peter was still looking for information.

"Because my old mentor and guardian Longclaw said that if I am ever discovered, I should escape and hide," Sonic answered.

Peter was starting to get a feel for the young guy in his car. "So you've been on your own all this time?"

"Well, not really," Sonic lied. "I've had friends. And I hang out with people in town."

"Spying on us isn't hanging out," Peter stated. "Okay, so you need your rings? And you're, what, capable of shooting off an electrical spike?"

"Technically it's a side effect of being able to run really fast," Sonic admitted.

"Okay, so if you can run fast, why not just run to San Francisco?" Peter asks.

Sonic looked outside and looked back at him. "Uh, I don't know where San Francisco is."

"It's that way," Peter pointed towards San Francisco. "Straight shot, can't miss it."

"Alright," Sonic said nervously as he exited the car and looked back to Peter. "That's cool. That way. I'm totally cool saying goodbye now."

Sonic then speeds off in the direction Peter gave him. Peter was surprised by how fast he was. But Sonic comes back to the truck, now soaking wet and covered in seaweed with a fish on his head.

"So, as I crashed into the cold, dark water of the Pacific, I realized a few things," Sonic stated, the fish bouncing on his head. "A, I have no idea where I'm going. B, saltwater stings. C, I shouldn't even be on this planet right now, but I am! Why?! Because you shot me!"

Peter nodded at that one. "Okay, yeah, that's fair."

"You shot me!" Sonic stated.

"All right, I heard you the first time," Peter said with a sigh. "You don't have to... pile it on. I got it."

"I'm wet," Sonic began to list off with his fingers. "I'm cold, there's a fish on my head! And clearly, I'm not going to be able to do this on my own."

Peter looks at Sonic as the fish falls off Sonic's head and knows he is right. This kid easily knew nothing outside of Green Hills and wasn't going to make it on his own. Sophia's voice echoes in his head about how he should help the poor creature for obvious reasons. He then sighs and nods.

"All right, get in the truck," Peter told the hedgehog.

"Really?" Sonic asked as he shook himself off really quickly, puffing up his fur. "You're gonna help me?!"

"I guess it is a little bit my fault that all this is happening to you," Peter said with a sigh.

Sonic approached the car. "Not a little bit, entirely. It is ENTIRELY your fault."

Peter smiled as he rolled his eyes. "Okay, it's entirely my fault. Are you coming?"

"Yes." Sonic shakes himself off again, his fur going back to normal and he climbs back into the truck and closes the door. "Road trip! Whoop, whoop!"

Peter sighed as he saw the madness of his life, as he was preparing to go on a road trip with a talking hedgehog. "When did this become normal for me?"

Sonic and Peter are now driving through the foothills, continuing their journey to San Francisco.

"All right, there's gonna be rules on this trip. Number one, do exactly as I say all the time. If we've got some freak from the government chasing us down, then that's going to be a problem." Peter said with a sigh. "Got it?"

Sonic gave Peter a little salute with his fingers. "Got it, Spider-Man."

"Would you stop calling me "Spider-Man"?" Peter asks him. "That's a secret out of the mask. I have a name. It's Peter."

"I'm Sonic." Sonic introduced himself.

"Sonic. Sonic." Peter repeated the name, wondering if it was just irony. "So you've been spying on us all these years?"

"I mean, I wouldn't call it "spying." We were all just hanging out, only I wasn't invited and no one knew I was there." Sonic stated, looking at it in a different light.

"I can't believe Crazy Carl was right all this time," Peter said with a laugh.

"Yeah, you should call him Super Observant Carl instead," Sonic stated with a laugh. That was when he saw something out the window. He then gets up and leans out the open window. "Oh, my God, stop the car right now!"

"What, what?! What is it?" Peter asks in concern.

They pass a billboard advertising the World's Largest Rubber Band Ball. "The World's Largest Rubber Band Ball? We gotta see it!"

"No, no. No, this is not some family road trip, okay?" Peter warned him. "The government wants to dissect you and capture me. This is serious. We don't know who or what they are going to send after us, so we need to keep-"

Peter looked over and saw that Sonic was already long gone. Sonic then comes back in the blink of an eye with souvenirs like a baseball cap and some small rubber band balls.

"Eh, you're right. It was lame. The gift shop was cool, though!" Sonic said as he showed a mouse pad that reads "I (heart) Rubber Band Balls" to Peter. "I got you a mouse pad. When are we gonna get there?"

Sonic holds up a paddle ball and plays with it at a very fast speed while looking at Peter with a playful smile.

"We will get here when we get here!" Peter said, starting to get a little of what Emma was saying about kids.

Sonic continues playing with the paddle ball. Peter sighed as he leaned and bumped his head against the wheel. That was when he sensed something and sat up again.

"We've got trouble," Peter warned Sonic.

"What?" Sonic asks.

Peter looked in the rearview mirror and noticed there was an armored truck approaching. "Oh, god."

"Who is that?" Aonic asks.

"The Thunderbolts," Peter said with a groan.

In the vehicle trailing behind them, a group known as the Thunderbolts lay in wait, a blend of extraordinary individuals who found themselves adrift in a world that never quite accepted them. Commissioned by the U.S. Government, specifically by the enigmatic Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, their assignments required a delicate touch—tackling missions that demanded secrecy and obscured the true nature of their activities from public scrutiny.

Among this eclectic cadre was John Walker, a formidable figure who had been molded into the U.S. Agent. He represented the government's ambitious endeavor to replicate the revered legacy of Captain America, providing a shield for their covert operations. Beside him sat Ava Starr, known as Ghost; once a victim of a catastrophic exposure to Quantum particles, she now wielded the uncanny ability to phase through solid matter and vanish into thin air, a ghostly presence in the world around her.

Also part of the team was the colossal Red Guardian, Alexei Andreovitch, a man whose past was entwined with the storied history of the Black Widow. As Natasha Romanoff's adopted father, his loyalty ran deep, driven by a complex mix of familial love and a desire for redemption. Completing the Thunderbolts was Yelena Belenova, the spirited younger sister of Natasha, eager to carve her own path while grappling with the shadows of her sister's legacy.

Their latest mission was shrouded in mystery: tasked with capturing a creature that had triggered the cataclysmic EMP, they were provided with scant details regarding its nature or whereabouts. Unbeknownst to them, Peter Parker held possession of the creature, an innocent being caught in the tumult of events beyond its control. All the Thunderbolts knew was that they were professionals on a mission.

"Oh, America is so big," Alexi tells the team as he drives them down the roads. "You ever drive through Oklahoma? It's so flat."

Yelena didn't say anything as she rolled her eyes at her adopted father.

"Wait, Alexi, what's that?" Ava asked, noticing the approaching car.

As they squinted through the tinted windows, they soon spotted the approaching car, their collective focus sharpening in anticipation of the task ahead.

"I think that's our target," Yelena commented. "Alright, be ready."

Peter sighed as he knew that this was going to be difficult. "Okay, Sonic, I need you to stay back, and just do what I say."

"Okay..." Sonic said, watching as the car pulled up to their side, where he saw Yelena had her head and torso sticking out with a gun raised. "Uh, you might wanna roll down the window."

Peter turned and saw Yelena aiming the gun and quickly rolled down the window, pushing Sonic to stay hidden. "Hey, Yelena!"

Yelena was shocked when she saw she was aiming her gun at Spider-Man. "Peter Parker?"

"Yeah, hey." Peter greeted her again. "Alexi, good to see you."

Alexi looked over and was shocked to see him. "Wait, aren't you-"

"Yeah, I may or may not have dated your daughter for a while," Peter said, looking towards Yelena. "You know, the other one."

Sonic suddenly sped to sit up and was shocked as he looked between Yelena and Alexi. "Wait, that's her DAD?"

Alexi let out a scream of terror when he saw the hedgehog. Peter flinched and immediately began to speed up as he passed their car and went as fast as he could.

"Okay, Alexi, if you're all better now, I wouldn't mind some speed here?" Yelena tells her.

"Okay, hold on!" Alexi cried as he began to speed and pick up the pace. "Come on, come on, baby!"

"Uh, it looks like they're gaining with us," Sonic warned him.

"Yeah, I got that!" Peter stated.

Yelena then stuck her head out of the car again and began to open fire, shattering the back window of the truck. Peter flinched and Sonic screamed as they ducked down to try and avoid the gunshots.

"Okay, Sonic, I need you to do something," Peter tells him.

Yelena kept opening fire when suddenly the guns in her hand disappeared and a gust of blue ran from the truck back to the getaway car. Sonic then stopped and revealed he stole Yelena's guns.

"So, what do I do with these?" Sonic asks.

"Just- throw- throw them out the window!" Peter screamed in terror. "You don't know what she-" The guns then released a taser which shocked Sonic, causing him to fritz and fall unconscious. "I should have seen that coming..."

Hitting the brakes as hard as he could, Peter swerved to dodge the truck and got behind the convoy. That didn't work in his favor. He looked in his rearview mirror and shrieked when he saw Ava, AKA Ghost, had made it into the car. She quickly went to grab Peter by using his own seatbelt to wrap it around his throat and begin to choke him. Peter tried to fight back and saw Sonic wasn't going to be much help considering he was unconscious.

Peter then tried to punch Ghost, getting her to phase through the fist, allowing him to then get the chance to take the seatbelt off of his throat. He then slammed on the brakes while Ghost was still phasing, slamming into the road and rolling down the road. Peter then turned down an exit to get off the roadway while the Thunderbolts transport rolled over and Ghost then used her phasing powers to phase back into the car and took her seat as they chased after Peter.

"Hang on, Sonic," Peter said as he saw they were still following.

Driving into a nearby small rest-stop area, Peter looked back and noticed that the Thunderbolts were following after them. Yelena drew another one of her guns and shot Peter's tire, causing him to skid over and crash as he slowly drove them over to stop. Peter groaned as he felt his head hit the truck and then looked over to Sonic and saw he was still unconscious.

"Peter Parker!" Yelena called as she exited the vehicle with John Walker, Red Guardian, and Ghost following. "Surrender the creature!"

"Come on, guys!" Peter groaned as he slid out of the car, crashing on the road. "Don't you have an evil corporation to destroy from the inside, and not some poor creature?"

"Why are you risking your life for a creature like this?" John wonders. "Just surrender it, and we can all be on our way."

"Not gonna happen," Peter stated as he rubbed his injured arm. "I made this guy a promise. He's trapped here because of me. And I said I'd get him to safety. So, come on. You wanna get to him? Well, I am all that's standing in your way."

John then didn't hesitate as he was the only one who didn't have the most history with Peter. But when he was ready to open fire, the gun disappeared from his hands. Peter looked over to the car and saw the unconscious hedgehog was missing and he smiled as he looked back to the Thunderbolts.

"Now, you're in for it," Peter stated as he shot out a web.

John raised his makeshift shield to block the attack and tossed it towards Peter. Peter didn't need to do much but catch the shield he then used it as a projectile toward Red Guardian.

Alexsi caught the shield with a laugh. "Did you think that would be enough to stop the Red Guardian?!"

"Red Guardian?" Sonic asked, getting Alexi to turn and see the small creature. "I honestly thought you were a superhero Santa Clause."

That was when Peter shot a tranq into his back, getting Alexi to scoff as he turned around. "You think that one of those-" That was when Peter shot several more, injecting the serum into him to knock him out. "Oof, that'll do it."

Alexi then fell unconscious as Peter then dodged a strike from John with a small knife and knocked it out of his hands. That was when he caught it and tried to fight whilst Yelena prepared to shoot Sonic with Widow Bites. He then froze time as he saw what she was doing and then quickly sped his way over to move the widow bites instead of shooting off towards Sonic they would shoot Yelena herself.

When she was zapped, she felt the Widow Bites surge through her as she fell unconscious. John then rammed Peter against the Thunderbolts' car with his shield which shattered the glass against Peter's head as he groaned.

"Just give up!" John tells him.

"Sorry. I don't do that." Peter stated as he then leaped and flipped over John, latching onto him and flipping him around before he slammed John into the car, crushing the roof and knocking him out at once. "Sonic?" Sonic then sped over and stopped right at Peter's side. "Hey, you okay?"

"You really didn't hesitate," Sonic said with surprise as he saw Peter didn't give him up. "You willingly fought people you knew for someone you didn't know."

"I made you a promise," Peter stated as he then gave the guy a pat on the shoulder. "So, we should get a move on, right?" He stated as he looked over to the slashed tire. "We probably should get that fixed."

Peter then looked over towards the Thunderbolts' car and saw their tires were still enacted. He and Sonic seemed to have the exact same idea as they grew a smile and nodded at one another.

Sonic and Peter pull into a rest stop, where the Thunderbolts tires replace the car tires. That was likely going to slow them down when they woke up. That made it to the other side of town and the truck pulled up to a fueling station. Peter gets out of the truck puts a hat on and walks to the other side of the truck to talk to Sonic.

"All right, I'm gonna go check in with Max, and see if he knows what's going on," Peter told Sonic, gesturing to the phone booth.

"You're gonna see Max in that glass thing?" Sonic asked. "What is it, a teleportation box?"

Peter looks behind him and back at Sonic. "It's a pay phone. It's mostly for drug dealers and fugitives from the law, which is us. Stay in the car. I don't want anybody seeing you."

Sonic groaned. "Ugh, fine."

Peter walks to the pay phone and goes inside. Meanwhile, Sonic is horsing around in the truck, pretending like he is actually driving it and making engine noises, when he spots a large gathering of bikers off to the side and he gasps with wonder before ducking down behind the door.

"Okay, okay. That is the coolest place on Earth, but you have to stay in the car!" Sonic tried to control himself.

Sonic slowly peaks his head up to continue watching everything play out in front of him, and it causes him to hyperventilate, fogging up the glass on the window, which he wipes away to keep watching. He's still fighting his excitement by rocking back and forth in the driver's seat

"Be strong, be strong!" He repeated.

Unable to take it anymore, Sonic spots a pair of sunglasses and gets an idea. Meanwhile, Peter is on the phone with Max.

"Hello."

"Max, it's me," Peter said over the phone in relief.

"Peter! I'm so glad that you called." Max said as he looked over to his right. "Uh, some guys came in asking some questions. Talking about terrorism? And I knew that something had to be going on, I've known you for years, Pete, so what is-"

"All right, Max, listen to me. This is really important. Don't tell them that we talked, okay?" Peter asked.

Max looks up and sees Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone staring him down. "You know, I think they already know."

Dr. Robotnik grabs the phone from Max. "Mr. Parker."

Peter groaned when he heard Robotnic's voice. "Ugh, Peter."

"I want you to know that the only person who ever punched me in the face was the school bully," Robotnik told him. "He hit me in the cafeteria, causing a blunt-force contusion to the soft tissue surrounding my orbital bone. Humiliated me in front of the entire school! And you know what I did in response?"

Uh, I'm assuming that you reported him to the principal's office 'cause, you know, that kind of behavior is really unacceptable for a child." Peter said.

"No, I examined the inefficiency of a world where brawn trumped brain, and I used technology to resolve that inefficiency." Robotnic proclaimed. "The boy ate his meals through a straw for a year. And I have never lost a fight... until today."

"Hey, hooray for me then, huh?" Peter asked sarcastically as he sighed.

"No, because you're about to become the bully with the straw! I'm coming for you, Mr. Parker. And when I catch you, I'll find out what makes you and that creature special and I'll-"

Peter hung up before he rolled his eyes and headed into the station.

"Hello. Hello? Hello, hello, hello?" Robotnick saw he hung up.

"Yeah, he's probably gone," Max said.

"Thank you, Professor Brainfart," Robotnik stated.

"You guys don't know who you are messing with, I can promise you that," Max warned them.

"I will take my chances," Robotnik said as they left.

Peter comes back to the truck with a fast food meal and a few various snacks from the station. He walked over to the vehicle and moved some of the bags over the box to open the door.

"Okay, not exactly the healthiest meal, but…" That was when Peter noticed that Sonic was no longer in the truck. "Sonic?" He then looks over to the biker bar and realizes Sonic might be in there. "No, no, no, no, no!"

Peter sets the meal down on the hood of the truck and rushes to the biker bar. He enters the biker bar, called the Piston Pit, and looks around for Sonic, where he finally sees the young man sitting at a table wearing a cowboy hat, sunglasses, and a red shirt. Peter uses his foot and Sonic turns around, tipping his hat to Peter.

"Howdy, partner!" Sonic said in an accent.

"I'm not your partner, I am pissed," Peter exclaimed. "Come on. We're leaving."

"But there's a ZZ Top cover band. You gotta see their beards." Sonic said.

"We'll have to catch 'em some other time. We're on the run, remember?" Peter asked him. "Let's go! Get up!"

"If we stay, I promise I won't say another word for the rest of the trip, starting… now!" Sonic said, and that almost tempted Peter.

A waitress walks over to Peter and Sonic ."Welcome to the Piston Pit. What can I get you, fellas?"

"Ooh! I want nachos and buffalo wings. Oh, and guac. Funny word isn't it? Guac, guac! Guuaaac!" Sonic listed off, already breaking his promise.

"Hey, no kids allowed in here. What's he got on, some kind of mask?" The waitress asks.

"Oh! He, he's actually 43 years old and suffers from a very rare skin disease that stunts his growth and makes him look… like- like that." Peter tried to make a good excuse.

"The face, I was born with. The confidence, I picked up along the way." Sonic exclaimed.

The waitress smiles with a giggle.

"Make his a Mello Yellow, please," Peter said with a sigh, deciding it would look better if they stayed to not attract attention.

"Okay." The waitress walks away as Peter sits down at the table.

"You owe me one," Peter said with a sigh.

"I never sat on a barstool before!" Sonic said as he spun around. "So squishy! Oh, look at this, it spins!" He continued to spin around on the barstool. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!"

"Yes. That's nice." Peter said with a sigh. "You having fun? Gonna check this off the ol' bucket list, huh? Big night for you."

"What's a bucket list?" Sonic asks.

"A bucket list is, uh, it's a list of things you want to do in your life before you, well, kick the bucket." Peter shrugged.

"I've never kicked a bucket either! Oh, I gotta make my list!" Sonic speeds off and grabs a pen and pad and comes back to the table, writing down his list. "Uh-huh! Mm-hmm! Oh, Sonic! Ha-ha! Uh-huh!" Then he suddenly stops and frowns.

Peter then notices Sonic's concerned face. "What? What's the matter?"

"There's so much stuff I've never done. And now that I'm leaving Earth forever, I guess I missed my chance." Sonic said with a sigh.

Peter looked around and shrugged. "Well, I guess this is the kind of place you could get a lot of living done in a short period of time. I suppose we can spare an hour."

Sonic was shocked to hear this. "What? You're gonna bucket list with me?!"

"Sure, why not?" Peter guessed they could spend some time.

"You won't regret this!" Sonic promised.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure I will," Peter said with a sigh.

"Bad News" by Ghost Hounds plays in the background. Sonic and Peter line dance with a group of patrons. Playing darts, Peter scores a bullseye. Sonic picks up a bucket of darts and rapid-fires them. He misses the board completely but punctures their waitress' hat and the beer cans she's holding on her plate. Sonic crosses "Compete in a sport" off his bucket list. Peter plays a basketball game but unwittingly uses Sonic as a ball and Sonic uses his fast legs to build up Peter's score as he sits on the hoop ring.

"Ha-ha! New high score!" Sonic cheered.

He crosses "Do a SLAM DUNK" off his list. He and Peter are dancing again.

Sonic laughed as he did a little bounce. "Yippee-ki-yay! Ah-ha!"

Sonic is riding a mechanical bull as Peter paid the fine to have it going. "Wait a second, is this bull missing a head, or does it have two butts?"

Peter mockingly yawns from seeing Sonic ride the bull at the easiest setting.

"This is easy!"

"Really? Okay," Peter says, inserting a quarter into the mechanical bull to turn up the speed.

He began tapping the button for the highest speed, and he laughed from watching Sonic hold onto it and be thrown around. He was screaming but trying to keep his cool as he was being flung around.

"Yee-haw! I'm a cowboy, baby!"

Sonic gets thrown off the bull, causing Peter to gasp in fear but then he sees Sonic speed back onto it like nothing happened.

"I'm okay!"

He crosses "Tame a wild animal" off his bucket list.

Peter and Sonic are dancing again, but Sonic accidentally bumps into a female patron.

"Whoo, yeah!" Peter cheered, not aware of what just happened.

The female patron throws a drink in Peter's face, thinking it was him who slapped her hiney. Afterward, Peter is drying up while Sonic is laughing at Peter's plight as he is whipping himself off.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up," Peter said with a laugh.

"Nice work, Romeo!" Sonic mocked.

Peter gave him a sarcastic laugh. "Glad you're having a good time."

"I AM having a good time! I'm having the best time! I mean, what could go wrong?" Sonic asks.

That gave Peter a chance to give a dumbfounded look as he knew that question was a terrible question to ask. Suddenly, a group of mean-looking patrons approach him and Peter.

"Uh, heh, can we help you?" Peter asks.

"We don't like your kind around here."

Sonic was confused when he heard that. "Our kind?" What kind is that?"

"Hipsters."

Sonic gasped. "How dare you."

Peter knew it was a bad idea to draw attention to them. "Hey, you know what? We were just leaving anyway. Weren't we? There's not a problem here."

"No, no, no, it's okay." Sonic didn't seem to get that idea.

Peter tried to get him to stop. "No, no, no, we're leaving."

"I know exactly how to handle this situation," Sonic then grabs a beer bottle, stands up, and clears his throat. "Pop quiz, hotshot. You just picked a fight with a poorly disguised hedgehog who's seen way too many action movies. What do you do? What do you do? Ha!"

Sonic jumps up and tries to smash the bottle over the guy's head expecting the bottle to shatter, but nothing happens.

"Huh? Am I crazy? It's supposed to break, right?" Sonic then tries again, numerous times, his speed increasing as well. "Dink! Dink, dink! Break, please. Break, please. Break this bottle, please. Please, please, please, please, please!"

Peter got up and knew this wasn't going to end well. "Uh, Sonic?"

"The guy raises his fist, causing Sonic to gasp. "Uh-oh!"

Sonic ducks the guy's punch, but Peter doesn't. He topples into more patrons, sparking a full-scale brawl. Peter punches two brawlers and dodges a third, trying not to use his skills.

"Nice going!" Peter said sarcastically.

"Thanks! It's awesome, right? All right, who's next? Who wants some? Who do I get to beat up? Hey! Has anybody seen my waitress? Still waiting on those buffalo wings." Sonic said. He sees the thug from earlier cracking his knuckles. "Why, you!"

Sonic jumps and punches the thug in the face repeatedly in slow-motion, somersaults, and lands back on the floor. He then blows on his fists and the thug turns around and growls aggressively. The thug runs to tackle him, but now time seems to have stopped and everything is frozen in place as Sonic's awareness is increased tenfold.

"Really?"

Sonic speeds away, leaving his hat and shirt in midair. "BOOM" by X Ambassadors plays as Sonic runs around the bar. Flying food and spilled beer hang in the air. A falling man has his front tooth flying and his phone in midair. Sonic grabs the phone and takes a selfie. Sonic runs full tilt into a flying empty boot. Sonic sees that Peter is about to be punched by two of the bullies. He pulls the beanie over the eyes of one of them, then stretches the underwear of the other and hooks it over a cast harpy eagle.

Then he pushes Peter out of harm's way and into the bar. Sonic runs to the edge of the bar where half a dozen chili dogs hang in midair. He scarfs them down, belches, and grabs two burning sparklers from the waitress's upended tray. A woman has two men in a headlock. Sonic covers their heads with mustard and ketchup then sticks the sparklers into the woman's ears.

He covers two fighters head to toe with toilet paper. He weaves a long string of flags through the rest of the battling patrons, including two women both with caps and beer bottles and mirroring each other's position, and lassos the end of the flags to a ceiling fan. He runs up the wall and pulls off a mounted bear's head. Leaping from person to person, Sonic carries the bear's head to the bald guy and places it on his head, Sonic's hat and shirt still hang in midair, and he gets back into them. He grabs a checkered napkin and holds it up like a matador.

The scene returns to normal speed and everyone is neutralized by Sonic's tricks. "Olé!"

Blinded by the bear's head, the charging bully flies through the front window. Only Peter is left standing due to Sonic saving him from the fight. Peter looks around at the injured patrons and even sees one of the toilet paper mummies fall to the ground, and Sonic sides up alongside Peter at the bar.

"So, should we get out of here?" Sonic asks.

Peter looked at the chaos and knew he was going to have fun explaining this to Fury later. "Yeah, time to go!"

Sonic and Peter rush out of the Piston Pit and make a beeline for the truck.

"Ha-ha-ha! That was amazing!" Sonic then throws his disguise off to the side. "Wait a second, did we even pay our tab? It doesn't matteeer! Watch this, watch this! I always wanted to do this!"

Sonic jumps up and slides across the hood of Peter's truck in slow motion, barely noticing the fast food from earlier, and he slides inside the truck.

"Ooh-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!"

"Get 'em!"

Peter climbed into the car and started off the vehicle as they drove away as fast as they could.

"See ya, suckers!" Sonic cheered.

The bar patrons chase after the truck, but are too slow, as Peter quickly discreetly shoots out a web to latch to the road path so that any of them with bikes would ram it rather than chase after them.

"I can't say for sure, but I think they liked me."

Sonic and Peter managed to drive far away from the patrons and we're celebrating their victory with laughs.

"Yes!"

"Yeah!"

"Yes!"

"Ouch!" Peter said as he held the side of his face.

"He got you pretty good!" Sonic commented.

Peter shrugged it off. "I'm all right. I've been hit harder by much bigger."

"Did you see how much toilet paper I used?!" Sonic asked with a laugh. "The next person that goes into that bathroom will have nothing to wipe with!"

Peter got him and Sonic to a hotel that he was able to pay in cash, luckily he always kept an emergency can of money in the car that was for emergencies. Of course, he didn't expect that to be the emergency of flat tires or engine trouble, not being on the run from authorities.

"The floors were sticky. The crowd was rough." Sonic jumped excitedly on a bed while Peter grabbed some ice to relieve his bruises. "And the odds were against us. But there was no stopping Spider-Man and the Blue Blur! Scratch another one off my list."

Scratches off the item on his bucket list, it was getting into a bar fight. Peter sits down on the bed while Sonic sits on the other one.

"You are a bit of a troublemaker for a guy trying to stay out of trouble," Peter commented, handing Sonic the makeshift ice pack.

Sonic gasped with a scoff when he heard that. "Says you, Spider-Man."

Peter chuckled at that retort and nodded. "Okay, fine. Fair play."

Sonic starts imitating Peter as he tends to his bruises, which makes Peter notice and he gets annoyed. "Okay."

"So, what are we gonna do now?!"

Peter got up and moved the sheets so he could lie down. "I'm gonna pass out watching TV. I think you should too."

"But this is my last night on Earth! I want to soak up every last second!" Sonic wined almost like a child on its first road trip.

"All right, anything you can find to do in this room, you knock yourself out," Peter told him.

Sonic looks around and zips all over the room, doing pretty much everything he can to amuse himself: a self-pillow fight, ripping out tissues, teetering over a light, opening and closing a drawer from the inside, channel surfing, spinning a painting wildly, flushing the toilet, and sweeping with a broom. Finally, he finishes up with a shower and comes back to the bed wearing towels on his head and body, and slippers on his feet.

"Good times." Sonic lets out a fart.

Peter gagged at the smell. "Oh, come on. Oh, that's awful. What did you eat?"

"I think it's called a chili dog?" Sonic said as Peter lay down.

"You might want to check your fur on that one, little guy," Peter told the space hedgehog as he relaxed on the bed. "Hey, so, what's this next planet you're supposed to go to like?"

"It's no Earth, I can tell you that. There are no people, just breathable air and giant mushrooms and stuff." Sonic said with a sigh.

"Well, look at it this way; at least you won't be the only "fun guy"," Peter said with a large smirk.

Sonic was not impressed. "No. Don't ever do that again."

"I liked it," Peter stated.

Sonic then looks around the room. "I'm really gonna miss this place. I know I have to leave Earth to be safe, but what if Longclaw was wrong? Maybe I could have a life here."

Peter knew he wasn't going to get much sleep as he looked at Sonic, and then got up. "I don't really know what to tell you, or to really tell you what to do, since I only really just learned about your situation. But... Earth is a good place, but when it learns of something different, it tries to snuff it out. But... if you found people who accept you... then that changes everything."

"Like you?" Sonic wonders.

Peter saw he walked into that one. "Yeah, I guess," He then stood up and stretched. "All right. We should get some sleep."

Sonic laughed. "You sleep. Don't worry about me. I'm gonna stay up all night enjoying Earth while I can!"

Peter walked over to turn the lamp off. "Sure, kid. As long as we're on the road by 8:00., you can-" That was when he turned and he saw Sonic sleeping peacefully while mumbling in his sleep. "Yep. Every kid after a sugar crash."

"I had a chili dog. That's why my farts smell..."

Peter smiled as he stood up and quickly tucked Sonic in. Then he noticed his bucket list and saw that all but one thing had been crossed off.

The final item on his list, "Make a real friend", is seen, which makes Peter a little concerned inside. His troubles worsen when he hears a news report on the TV.

"Peter Parker, accused of committing an act of domestic terrorism. Parker is considered armed and dangerous. Any information regarding his whereabouts should be reported to local authorities immediately."

"Oh, boy..."

The next day, Dr. Robotnik's truck is parked outside the rest stop and workers are installing a new window for the Piston Pit while Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone interview the bar patron from the night before.

"Did he say where he was going?" Stone asks.

He takes the picture of Peter from Agent Stone and looks at it. "Maybe. Maybe not. Like I'd ever tell you." He shoves the picture back.

Dr. Robotnik gently pushes Agent Stone aside. "Stand down, Agent Stone. This well-meaning citizen obviously doesn't understand the urgency of the matter."

The thug stands up and looks Dr. Robotnik dead in the eyes. "Really?"

Dr. Robotnik gives the thug a smug grin and then hurls him out the window yet again. Dr. Robotnik and Stone then exited the bar with Agent Stone.

"Now that's what I call good cop, bad cop

As Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone leave the Piston Pit, he holds his hand out and Agent Stone goes for a high 5, but Dr. Robotnik tricks Stone and punches him in the abdomen.

"Hoi! Left yourself open," Dr. Robotnik walks away while Agent Stone gasps for air. "Judging by the quickest route to San Francisco, the approximate speed of their vehicle, and local weather conditions…" Messes with the control panel] they should be… right about… here."

The image of the road map zooms in and shows Peter's truck on the tracking.

"That's brilliant, sir." Stone said.

"Thanks…" Dr. Robotnik said before whispering. "for nothing."

Sonic and Peter are driving into California, just passing the sign. Sonic looked at the sign as they passed, looking behind them and looking at the bag Peter grabbed.

"So, what is with the bag?" Sonic asked, gesturing to the bag.

"Huh?" Peter asked, focusing on the road.

"You were quick to grab that bag and computer," Sonic explained.

"Oh, the bag is an experimental suit I made, well, I am making. My real plan for it is to implement the abilities of the suit into my everyday spider suit that I'm wearing now but I'm having issues with the power source." Peter explained with a shrug. "The computer is carrying a lot of my old experiments, including something I found with my dad's work."

"Really?" Sonic asks.

"Some old AI algorithm. It was sketchy on what it was for, but from the coding, it's like some peace algorithm meant to be compatible with any system." Peter explained. "I never fully brought it online yet, there are too many things that could go wrong, and I haven't gotten around to finishing the code with work and the move."

They then went into an odd silence for a moment.

"So, what's on your bucket list?" Sonic asks.

"What, me?" Peter asks.

"Yeah. Everyone has a bucket list, right?" Sonic asks.

"Well, sure, but I mean, you're the one leaving Earth, and I'm not planning on dying anytime soon," Peter said. "Well... I mean, I did kinda technically die that one time. And that one other time... and almost that one other time against Thanos when I stole the Infinity Stones and sent them far away, okay, you know what? I've died a few times. But I am not planning on doing that again. Emma said she would kill me when I came back if I died on her."

"Don't be so sure," Sonic said. "Your best friend is a magnet for danger."

"Oh, are you anointing yourself as the best friend now?" Peter asked with a hum. "A little presumptuous, but..." Then he looked over and noticed the shocked expression on Sonic's face. "I mean- What? No- I-I like you, of course, but, you know, we're not best friends."

"You tucked me in last night," Sonic stated.

Peter chuckles when he hears that, not realizing that he wasn't asleep.

"Fine, fine, fine. Best animal friend." Sonic stated.

"That would be my dog, Lucky." Peter proclaimed.

"Okay. Let's drop this increasingly humiliating topic of conversation." Sonic said. "Bucket list. Give it to me!"

"Okay, there is one thing. I want a chance to prove myself, outside of the superhero persona. I'm gonna move to San Francisco and become a real scientist. And, I don't know, see if I have what it takes." Peter looks over at Sonic, whose jaw is dropped open in shock. "What? Why- why is your face doing that?"

"You're leaving Green Hills?!" Sonic asked.

"Okay..." Peter sighed.

"B-B-But why? Why would you leave Green Hills?" Sonic asks.

"This may be hard for you to understand, but Green Hills is a small town. It's a very small town." Peter said. "There isn't much in the way of crime."

"Uh, it's not small! There are hundreds of people." Sonic stated.

"That's a small town, dude!" Peter retorted.

"It's a perfect town, and the people need you," Sonic stated.

"Please, I clean out their computers, I set up their security systems." Peter retorted. "They could call anybody to do that."

"Sure, they can call anybody, but they don't. They call you. Not to mention what your villains?" Sonic stated.

"They'll just follow me like they did when I moved out of New York, " says Peter, but Sonic continues to give him a look.

Peter sighed as he was beginning to consider what Sonic was saying, even if he hadn't fully agreed to move out there yet. That was when his senses began to hum, getting him to look around to see nothing out of the ordinary.

Dr. Robotnik begins to set up his capture plan, looking through a holographic screen and watching the road from Peter's perspective.

"Eeny, meeny, miny… Mayhem!" Dr. Robotnik selects the bot of his choice and sends it out to pursue the duo.

A large battle machine equipped for traveling on roads drives down the road. Peter was beginning to feel something was off as he wondered Sonic then stood up. "You're not making any sense!"

Peter scratched his head, wondering about the senses. "Would you calm down?"

"You come from a great town with great people and, by my count, only a small handful of bad guys trying to kill you!" Sonic proclaimed.

The drone car catches up to Sonic and Peter as the roads begin to become clear.

"Besides, what could possibly be more important than protecting the people you care about?" Peter thinks for a second while Dr. Robotnik initiates a weapon for the drone car, a large harpoon.

"Okay, look, I get your poi-" The drone car fires the harpoon straight through the back of the truck and catches the dashboard, making Sonic and Peter yell.

As Peter swerves to yank the harpoon loose, Dr. Robotnik activates the drone car's winch and it pulls Peter's truck slowly toward it.

Peter slams on the gas pedal and the harpoon starts coming loose, and Peter slams the truck against a traffic barrier, knocking Sonic out of the truck and onto the windshield.

"Sonic!" Peter cried.

Sonic then starts radiating blue energy. "I was forced from my home! Your home is perfect, and you're leaving it! Why would you do that?!"

Peter was shocked when he saw what was happening. "Your body!"

Sonic looked down and saw what was going on. "Oh, no, no, no, no, not again!"

Peter looked down at the harpoon and back to the machine. "Hey, hold on!"

"Why?!" Sonic asks.

"Because I'm gonna do this!" Peter stated.

Peter then yanked the harpoon out and slammed on the gas pedal again the harpoon let go of the dashboard and Sonic went flying before he curled into a Spin Attack and ran into the drone car, releasing an electromagnetic pulse that knocked the drone car on its side. Peter then turns his truck around and drives back to Sonic.

"Sonic!" He notices Sonic in his ball form. "Sonic!"

Sonic uncurled and gets up slowly, groaning. "Guess I had a bonus life." He then notices the drone car on its side and runs up to it. "Oh, yeah, baby!" He then does the floss. "Sonic, one. Big tank, zero. I'm sorry. Did we get that on camera?"

Peter was shocked when he saw he was okay. "How are you not dead?"

"I have no idea!" Sonic wonders as he keeps dancing. "Do you see me dancing?!"

Peter rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "Yes, I see you dancing."

Sonic then turned to the drone car. "Is that all you got?!"

Dr. Robotnik chuckled. "No, but thank you for asking."

Dr. Robotnik sends out another robot drone to continue the pursuit. The tank began to gear and whirr and prepared to separate.

"Uh-oh."

Peter saw what was happening and grew concerned. "Sonic! Get back in the truck!"

Peter drives away and Sonic zips back to the truck and climbs in. He then notices a smaller car drone that just deployed from the damaged drone car. That was followed by the front of the truck to seperate and two small drones began to fly off and approach the vehicle.

"I think that tank just had kids," Sonic tells him.

"What?" Peter asked, looking back and seeing them. "Oh, great."

The smaller drone car prepares its weapon, a homing mine dispenser, and shoots homing mines at the truck. The drones shoot off small explosives that when they make an impact with the ground explode.

"Incoming!"

Peter swerves to avoid being caught in the explosion, and the homing mine heads straight for a minivan ahead of Peter. It attached and shut the vehicle down immediately making it swerve.

Peter dodged the minivan and it safely managed to stop as they continued on.

Peter uses his web shooters to web down a few of the mines as Sonic climbs to the back of Peter's truck. "Where are you going?"

"Just drive the car," Sonic said as he got to the back. "I'll take care of this. And if I don't make it, just ditch me. You seem good at that."

Peter was about to respond when Sonic jumped from the back of the truck and ran towards several more homing mines, throwing one at another, skating on two of them, he finally approached the smaller drone car with a homing mine in his hand and he peers right into the robot's camera and starts imitating a streamer, which infuriates Dr. Robotnik.

Peter saw one of the drones getting close and quickly turned and shot a web to latch onto it before shooting another to connect the two drones together. He then shot another web that attached to a sign and combined the webbing, watching as the drones ricocheted and smacked into one another.

"Hey, everybody! Welcome back to my livestream! Today, we're destroying robots!" Sonic then raised the mine and smacked it against the drone, "Step one, errrap!"

Sonic slams the homing mine down on the smaller drone car and the electromagnetic pulse sends it veering off course and crashing into hills while Sonic watches from inside Peter's truck.

Sonic cheered. "Yes, we did it!" Now even smaller one-wheeled drones continue their pursuit. "We did not do it. Who is this guy?"

"Ever wonder where your tax dollars are going?" Robotnick stated.

"My turn." Peter then unbuckles himself puts on his mask and reveals his Spider-Suit under his clothes. "Here, just keep us going straight. I put us in cruise control."

Sonic and Peter switch seats as he starts to drive. "Ha-ha, I feel just like Vin Diesel!" Peter reveals his web-shooters and is about to use his Taser webs

"It's all about family, Peter." Sonic quoted Fast and the Furious.

"Is that how I sound to Emma?" Peter asked himself.

The Segway robot brandishes sharp spikes on both sides of the wheel as it catches up with the truck. Peter opens the door and prepares to attack. He tries to punch it but the robot dodges and cuts Peter with its spikes.

Peter decides to get on the roof of the car to combat the rest of the drones. Peter fires out multiple webs and blinds some of the drone's sensors. Peter then jumps up and latches a webline onto one of the drones and uses it as a wrecking ball to take down most of the group. Out of the smoke one last drone appears

"Come on! This guy doesn't give up," Peter groaned, landing back in the car.

"Quick suggestion. Roll up into a ball and smash him with your body." Sonic said.

"That's not humanly possible for me!" Peter cried.

Peter aimed his web shooter and tried to shoot when the car swerved. "Whoa! Where'd you learn how to drive?!"

Sonic was reading the manual behind the wheel. "Here, in this truck. It's happening as we speak!"

Sonic swerves the truck to dodge the robot.

"I can't shoot it! Bring him in closer!" Peter told Sonic.

"What?"

"Bring it in closer! Hit the brakes!"

"Oh, you mean this one?" Sonic steps on the gas pedal instead.

"The other brakes!" Peter cried.

Sonic steps on the brakes, slamming the drone against the door, giving Peter the opportunity he needs he aims his web-shooters latches a web onto the drone, and activates the taser web shorting out the last drone.

"Sorry, Doctor Eggman. That's just shocking," Peter quipped.

Dr. Robotnik screamed. "Ohhh! Give me a big fat break!"

Dr. Robotnik then sends out one last robot, a tiny helicopter, and it catches up to Peter's truck. Sonic Notices the small helicopter drone.

"Aww, this one is cute," Sonic tells Peter. "Let's keep him."

The helicopter starts slicing through the metal of the truck, working its way around the window frames.

"Oh, come on!" Peter cried in anger.

"How could something so adorable be so terrible!?" Sonic asked as he watched the helicopter is almost done slicing. "You've got car insurance, right?"

The whole window frame comes loose and flies off, causing Sonic and Peter to scream. Then, Sonic grabs the helicopter as it came flying close to shoot them.

"Buzz off." Sonic yanks off the body, but now the core is stuck to his hand and starts beeping like a time bomb. "That doesn't sound good."

"No, beeping is never good!" Peter cried as he watched Sonic shake his glove. "Get rid of it!

"I'm trying!" Sonic cried as he tried to shake the bomb off his hand.

"Throw it out the win- throw it anywhere!" Peter proclaimed.

Sonic tried to pry it off, but it only switched hands. "I can't get it off!"

"All right, I'm pulling over!" Peter pulls over and drives a little ways away.

Sonic tries to get the bomb off his hand until he thinks he got rid of it. But he missed that the bomb was now on his head.

"Did I get it?"

"Nope," Peter said as he ran to Sonic with a handkerchief. "Here, hold still."

Peter pries the bomb off Sonic's head and throws it far away.

"It's going, it's going…" Sonic then sees as Peter holds his hands up and notices the bomb now stuck to his hand "...it's still here.

Peter panics as he tries to shake it off as well but Sonic gets it on his hand. He sped over and tried prying it off his own hand with a stick.

"Get off me!" Sonic cried as It worked as the bomb was now stuck to a large rock. "Nailed it!"

The bomb explodes, sending Sonic flying and Peter jumps off the ground from the shockwave. After the dust settles, he sees Sonic lying unconscious on the ground;

"Sonic!" Peter runs to Sonic while taking off his mask and gently turns him over. "No, no, no, no…" he then presses his ear against Sonic's chest and looks around. "Hey, come on. You're all right. Wake up. Wake up."

Dr. Robotnik is panting and breathing heavily with Agent Stone watching.

"Did we get 'em? No, no, there they are." Stone said as he saw the screen. "They're real survivors, those two."

Dr. Robotnik turns to Agent Stone in anger. "Can we have a moment?" Both Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone walk over to a wall. "Pin yourself to the wall."

Agent Stone sighed as he did so and Dr. Robotnik pressed his face almost very close to Agent Stone.

"You know, I won't miss you when you're gone. Human beings are unreliable and stupid, and I care very little about them. But my machines are diligent, and relentless. THEY'RE EVERYTHING TO ME!" Dr. Robotnik notices a blue light glowing from inside Agent Stone's coat pulls out Sonic's quill and inspects it. "面白い。." (Interesting)...

Dr. Robotnik presses the tip of the quill to his tongue and the energy gives him a shock, making his head twitch violently. He then looks to Stone as he tries handing the quill to Agent Stone, who looks a little confused. Suddenly the computer lights and Robotnik and Stone look towards it and it shows the screen focusing on the debris of one of the drones that cut Peter which has his blood on it and in a small puddle on the ground. Doctor Robotnik sees this and smiles

"Time to see what our new friend is made of." Says the Doctor with a grin.
