Hope everyone had a good holiday season and wonderful start into the new year.

Chapter 3: Tug and Pull

If there was one thing that Japanese society was filled with that brought irritation upon William at every turn, it was tea. In fairness he wasn't a fan of coffee either, in fact he thought all coffee smelled and tasted terrible. But to him tea was a tease, it had flavor but it was too watered down for his liking and after a few days meeting with the ORC, he could say with confidence that he would never forget his water bottle at home. Of course that didn't stop Akeno from offering it to him everytime he showed up.

"Hehehe Calister-senpai! What kind of request do you think we'll get today?" Issei shouted, grabbing and shaking his shoulders at the thought of them getting a request again.

"Let me go before I punch you." William stated calmly feeling the same aged boy release him.

Sitting at her desk Rias couldn't help but let a slight giggle escape her, the sight of her servants getting along. She couldn't help but think about the quickness at which William had settled into the group. At first glance it could look like William was hostile to any touch, and while he would indeed follow through his promise, he was also very sociable with them now. The few days with them, he barely talked and even looked at them when it wasn't important. When Issei was brought into the fold and given the explanation of what he was and what was to be expected, William had offered to help go along with him as they navigated the new life. Of course that was mainly due to the fact that Issei had been brought in after being attacked by another fallen angel and the American teenager had wanted them to get payback. That of course said nothing about apparently the two running into a nun the other day.

"Buchou," Akeno's voice broke Rias out of her thoughts. Her long time friend held out a paper with her family's sigil on it. "We have a request for them."

Issei, having overheard them, did a fist pump into the air, striding over to Rias's desk with a smile on his face. "I'm ready to go Buchou."

Popping the last crumb of a cookie into his mouth, William rose to his feet. "Thanks for the snack Koneko-chan." Standing next to his junior, he looked to Rias and gave a thumbs up as he took the paper from her.

The journey to the address was mainly silent as William held little interest in discussing the idea of harems filled with beautiful women with Issei. The Japanese teen was absolutely ecstatic to say the least at the idea of his greatest dreams being a real possibility. Not to say that William didn't share some of the desire, he was a red blooded male after all, but it wasn't his top concern at the moment.

"My Onii-sama has given me some information about your situation." Rias had said on the day he returned to the club room after his decision to join. "For now you are ruled as an [Extra Piece, sadly that means that while you are officially a part of my peerage, your position in a Rating Game is up to the discretion of the opposing party."

The mixed teen ran a hand over his head, despite everything he was still trying to wrap his head around this whole situation. Devils, angels, dragons inside of people's souls and the icing was a strange entity inside his own. Said entity had been quiet since the day he agreed to join the peerage, but it left William even more confused as to why he was even hearing a voice. He hadn't found out much about his Sacred Gear besides that he seemed capable of absorbing any energy type he could get his hands on so far and his electric powers, which seemed to be independent of the former. Still he couldn't deny that having said powers would be a boon, especially since he would likely be targeted by the fallen and church factions just due to his association.

"- every man dreams of having a personal maid that will service you whenever you want!" The voice of Issei drew him back to reality as he stopped the bike in front of the address. "Oh we're here."

The two got off their rides and approached the door. Issei knocked on the door only to find that it slid inward at his hits. Looking at each other with uncertainty the two entered the house, with William taking the lead. Upon entering they saw lights on at the end of the entrance way coming from around the corner.

"H-H-Hello. We're the devils sent by Lady Gremory….." Issei called as he took his shoes off.

"The hell are you doing?" The American teenager chastised.

"What, we shouldn't be rude?"

Pointing to the door William gave an annoyed look. "The door being opened isn't suspicious to you? And you wanna be concerned about politeness?!"

Issei groaned, rubbing his head. "You don't think this client is gonna be weird do you?"

Sighing, William forced his colleague to come with him as they rounded into the living room. "I'm less worried about them being weird and more worried about….."*SPLASH* He stopped when the sound of his foot stepping into a puddle registered to his ears. Looking down he saw his shoe was in a pool of red liquid, "What the fuck?" The room was barely lit by a set of triple candles, but following the blood he saw the cause. A body brutalized beyond repair.

"Senpai what -blargh!" Upon seeing the pool of blood and following it to its source, Issei covered his mouth as he saw the bodies. The sight of the mangled corpses and the smell hitting him like a truck, creating the need from his stomach to empty its contents.

"We should-"

"Punish the wicked. Words to live by." The voice of a man drew their attention to a single individual sitting on the couch by the candle, his body turned away from them so all they could see was his white hair. "Yes, wise words indeed from a holy man." He turned his head, a look of pure insanity as he let his tongue hang out of his mouth.

'Shit.' Instinctively William took a step back as the man before them proceeded to get up from the couch.

The man wearing something one might see a cleric or a priest wear with a long dark coat, seemed to be enjoying himself. "Well well, you two just walked into the wrong house." He did a quick bow along with a dance. "Freed Sellzen at your service. And you two must be the scared little pussies whose devil asses this holy priest is gonna exorcise!"

Taken aback Issei said, "You, a priest?"

"Yup I work for a devil purging organization you may have heard of"

"So you're the one who did that?" The Japanese teen pointed at the dead body in the room.

Without missing a beat Freed stepped closer to the two. "Summoning you two was proof enough that he was done being human. End of the line sinner!" His insanity showing itself again, his red eyes seemed to get bigger. "So I had to chop him up into pieces."

The feeling of adrenaline started to course through his body, William mentally prepared himself for whatever was to come next. "Not much of a man of the cloth to be cutting people down."

Freed ignored the comment as he reached into his coat. "Putting down filthy devils and the lost degenerates that summon you is my job. And no one is better at this than me." From his coat he pulled out a strange pistol in his left hand and empty hilt in his right. The hilt emitted a blade made of light blue light.

Issei's eyes went wide at the sight of the blade. "That's a sword of light."

"First I'm gonna cut out your evil hearts with my heavenly blade of light. And then with my righteous gun I'm gon-" *POW* A fist crashed into Freed's face in the midst of his monologue. The priest was sent to the ground from the blow, his hold on his gun releasing from the hit.

Picking up the gun William pointed it at the crazy man. "How about no? We walk out of here and you just don't bother us?"

Freed felt his face for anything broken and narrowed his red eyes at the man who attacked him. "You filthy creature, how dare you touch me!" Rushing forward with the intent to cut his attacker down, Freed let his tongue hang out his mouth.

Perhaps due to never being in a combat scenario but William found himself caught off guard by the speed of the priest. Pulling the trigger he fired only to narrowly miss, catching only the end of the coat, while he himself barely had time to react as he felt the burning of the light blade in his left shoulder. "Damn it!" Going to fire again, all air left his body as Freed's knee slammed into his gut followed by another stab, this time to the right side of his abdomen.

"How dare a devil like you touch one of our holy weapons." The crazed priest took back his gun, kicking William down to the ground. Turning his attention to Issei he witnessed the scared teen summon his Sacred Gear on his left hand. "Oooh is the devil getting angry? Does seeing me hurt your friend get you all fired up? Maybe Freed Sellzen should send you back to the abyss from once you came!"

"GRAAAA!" Lunging at the man, Issei roared in anger.

However Freed simply side stepped him. "Too slow." Bringing his sword arm down he made a cut into Issei's back. Followed up with a shot to his leg. Looking at the two people before him he raised his sword in anger. "You can't get a guy all worked up and leave him half cocked. That's no way for a lady to treat a gentleman like myself!"

"AH!" The sound of a female voice echoed throughout the room.

Everyone including Freed looked to the source to see a young woman wearing a dark teal nun outfit with light blue accents. Her head was covered by a white veil with the same-colored accents, her long blonde hair leaked out from under said veil. On her face was a look of horror at the body of the dead man in the room.

"Asia what the hell!?" Shouted Freed, turning his whole body towards her. "Are you finished creating the barrier already?"

In a small gasp her voice managed to come out. "How how could you do this?"

Using the butt of his gun to scratch his head, Freed smiled. "Right, you're a newbie. Well it's time you learned." Slinging his arm around the nun his insane smile returned to his face. "This is what the job is, my dear. We dispose of unfortunate people that have been bewitched by evil devils."

Asia glanced between the two devils in question, her eyes going big upon seeing Issei. "It's you."

Looking down in regret, Issei could only whisper. "Asia no."

Seeing the reaction from them both, Freed backed away from his subordinate. "Hold on, what's this? Do you two know each other?"

William struggled to even rise to his knees as the situation unfolded. From what he could gather it seemed that Issei knew this nun, which meant this was the person that Issei wanted to see the other day. Freed wasn't paying attention to him even as he got on his feet, but that wouldn't last long. Even as the nun placed herself between Issei and Freed, begging for forgiveness and to leave them alone, William knew he needed to come up with a plan. With all his focus he sought out the spark inside himself, he didn't know if electricity was always prevalent or if he needed a source to drain first but at this moment was desperate.

"Enough of this bullshit!" Freed sliced through Asia clothes, exposing her chest and navel. "Are there maggots inside that fucking head of yours?! They are devils, we are on a holy mission to exterminate them. What part of that aren't you following?" His smile returned more sinisterly. "Ya know I have direct orders from our fallen angel friends not to touch you, but right now I don't give a damn." Taking her hands he pinned her up against the wall, impaling his sword under her wrist. "Naughty girls need to be punished."

A familiar tingle flowed throughout his body as William was finally able to stand on his own. "Hey Father Creepface."

"Huh? What's this? Wanna watch? You and that other devil will have to pay for it, you know." Freed turned to him with his gun aimed.

"I don't know how a maniac like you managed to become a priest, but I'm pretty sure us devils have more favor with Heaven than you do."

Unamused, Freed fired the gun, hitting his target in the gut. Struggling to stand, William raised his right arm and a surge of golden electricity came forth hitting Freed directly in his chest. The energy sent shocks all throughout the insane priest's body, making him convulse and drop his weapons. Issei, taking advantage of the attack, summoned the strength to stand on his own injured leg. Bringing up his gauntlet covered arm he landed a punch in the back of Freed's head, sending the priest down to the ground.

"You okay Senpai?" Gritting his teeth, Issei dropped to one knee to take pressure off his leg.

William managed to stay standing once the electricity disappeared but kept his arm aimed at their enemy. "I'm fine. We should probably go though."

"Hehehe." Twisted laughter filled the air as Freed began to shake. "You scum are gonna be so much fun." Grabbing his sword he stood back up and pointed it at them. "I wonder how many pieces of meat I can chop you two up into. AGH!" He leapt at them with his sword ready to come down. Neither of the teens could move efficiently due to their wound and just as it seemed they could be at his mercy, a glowing red circle appeared in front of them.

Out of the circle Yuuto came through with sword in hand, he clashed with Freed pushing the insane priest back. "Hey guys thought you could use a hand."

"Oh no what a mess." The sweet voice of Akeno was heard as she stepped through the circle.

Behind her Koneko appeared wearing a frown on her face. "An exorcist."

Jumping back from the blonde man in his way, Freed grabbed his gun. "Oh hell yes. Looks like we got a good ol fashioned gangbang going on here."

Yuuto kept his position between him and everyone. "Sorry to disappoint you but you're done here, those two are with us."

"Oh no I'm not disappointed at all." His smile grew as he raised his weapons. "So what's the deal, you three take turns polishing each other's nobs?"

"For a priest that's quite a mouth you got there."

"Don't you lecture me on piety or morality douchebag. Hunting your kind is my only concern, so how about you stop trying to preach to me and let's all dance."

Akeno's eyes held a deep desire in her eyes as she thought of all the things she could and would do to this man threatening them. "Oh my you certainly are something~."

Freed blushed as he wrapped his arms around himself. "You my dear have to be one the finest pieces of ass I have ever seen. That stare is just eating me up. There is nothing that fills me up with lust more than a sexy devil bitch-."

Lightning arced once again towards him, but this time he managed to dodge. William stood his body practically crackling with the energy all over himself. "You talk way too fucking much for my liking."

"Oh you cheeky-SHIT!" Narrowingly dodging again as red and black energy surged from behind the male, nearly hitting the priest.

"No one harms my servants." Rias stated as her magic disappeared, standing in full defiance to the threat before them.

"You guys came." Issei said as he slumped up against the wall.

Freed's smile never left as he braced himself against any more attacks."Well well I guess the big set of tits there is the leader. Don't get ahead of yourselves now, cause I'm pretty sure I hurt each of them."

Ignoring him, Rias turned to William and Issei. The latter had his head face down, "I'm sorry Buchou we failed. I'm grateful you came but we let you down."

William wanted to clock his junior over the head, but resisted when Rias placed a hand on his side. She was looking at their wounds with a worried expression. "I'm the one who's sorry. I sent you both right into the hands of an exorcist without evening knowing. A barrier was in place until a little while ago, so we had no idea."

Hearing the devil's words, Freed angrily looked to Asia. "You bitch! You had one job and that was to keep the barrier up! Good for nothing, just absolutely useless!"

Lightning jolted around him once as William felt a familiar sense of rage fill him. "You fucking waste of flesh. I'll enjoy killing you." No one saw it, but his brown eyes flashed a hateful orange for a brief moment.

"..."

A brief sniff caused Koneko to pause in her action as she held a piece of furniture over her head ready to throw. "Fallen inbound."

The Gremory heiress eyes widen at the words. "We've spent too much time here." Looking at her [Queen, she gave an order. "Akeno prepare to jump." A quick glance between William and Issei, she stood next to the former, her hand gripping his shoulder. "Koneko secure Issei."

"Yes, Buchou." The white haired girl tossed the object she was holding. Freed tried to dodge, but it collided with him causing him to fall beneath it.

As the Gremory sigil appeared on the floor, Issei was helpless as his junior effortlessly picked him up and slung him over her shoulder. "Wait Buchou, we can't leave Asia!" He yelled attempting to get out of the younger girl's grip, but to no avail.

Rias with a somber expression glanced at Asia, the nun laying on the ground covering herself. "I'm sorry Issei, but on members of my clan can use our teleportation circle."

"No please we have to take her! ASIAAAAAAAAA!" The pained cries of Issei echoed as they vanished.

"Willy my Mommy crying?" The sniffles of a young toddler Cynthia came out as she talked. She pulled on her brother's sleeve, desperately trying to get his attention. "I want Daddy! Where is he?!"

William pushed his sister away, his own tears falling down his face. The anger in his expression combined with his sadness apparent to any that would see. "Dad's not here anymore. He's never coming back."

"W-W-What?! Is he died?! Why would you say that!?" The little girl cried out slap her brother as more tears fell.

"HE'S GONE! He left us!" Grabbing his sister, he shook as he screamed. "Dad left, didn't say anything. HE ran away while we slept! Maybe if you weren't such a brat, he'd still be here."

"WILLIAM JAMES CALISTER!" The voice of their mother boomed, the woman standing over them. Michelle grabbed her son's arm forcing him to release his sister. She turned him towards her and raised her hand. *SLAP* Her palm stung from the blow she dealt her child, though she held no look anger, but rather disappointment. "Do not talk to your sister that way! Your father didn't leave because of anyone."

Despite the pain in his face, William stared defiantly at his mom. "Then why is gone?! If no one made him leave, why did he abandon us!"

pulled her son close, rubbing his back even as he tried to fight his way out of her grasp. "It's okay Will. Everything is going to be okay."

Cynthia made her way over to her mother and brother, her tears practically flooding out of her face now. Michelle feeling her daughter worm her way into the embrace, loosened her hug to allow in. William stopped fighting upon feeling his sister wrap an arm around him, his anger and feelings to resist melting away in the embrace of his family. Letting go of the anger, he cried. The remaining Calister family spent the rest of night in each other's arms.

Present Day

Poke poke poke*

Rolling over, William half-heartedly tried to swat away whatever was touching his face. While he had no desire to revisit his memory, he would prefer to sleep in peace.

Poke poke*

Once again, he rolled, this time opting to bury his face in the pillow. "Ah." Only it didn't feel right, soft yes. But very smooth and not like a usual pillow. *Squish* An experimental poke of his own had his finger sink in a bit but confirm that what he was touching wasn't a pillow. Turning his head, he opened his eyes to see a set of blue/green eyes staring down at him with warm smile. "Rest well?" The owner of the eyes asked.

Contrary to what his friends would have said, William never felt uncomfortable talking to attractive women. He never stumbled, stuttered, stared too long or even got butterflies. And besides the one relationship he had, he hadn't even touched a girl much. So now here he was, lying in the lap of one of the most sought-after girls of his school, her breast above his head and her looking down on him sweetly. His response was simple.

A quick roll over the edge of the couch and off Rias's lap, William hastily got off the ground. He dusted himself before walking around the small table and sitting on the couch across from her. He nearly rolled his eyes when she giggled at his attempt to make the whole transition look natural and normal. "I'm well rested if that's what you mean."

The smile that formed on Rias's lips held a sense of conniving intentions. "Your brow furrowed and you clenched your fist very tightly. It must have been quite the dream." Smoothing out her skirt, she stood making her way over behind him. "Encountering that priest must have been stressful. I'm sorry you had to deal with him and that you got hurt because of me."

William tried to block the smell of her hair out of his mind, his eyes seeking to focus on anything but the woman behind him. "I've been in fights before, though getting shot and stabbed that's a new one. Besides I don't blame you, it's not your fault."

"I still should have been able to identify something was wrong. As the [King] of this peerage, it's my duty to ensure your safety and prepare for these situations."

Shaking his head, William looked behind himself. "You can't predict everything. And like I told my mom once: You can't guarantee our safety all the time."

Raising an eyebrow, Rias leaned again the couch. "Our? You have a sibling?"

"My dad didn't tell you?" The shake of her head was the response. Sighing William finger tapped his head. "I got a sister about 4-5 years younger, 5 if you ask me and 4 to her since she doesn't like to count the gap in our birthdays. Cynthia, she can be a handful and likes to act like she was happy I was coming here. But she cried harder than Mom did when dropping me off at the airport."

"You sound close."

William laughed; a hand came up resting on the arm rest. "We weren't always. Use to be she would only speak to me out of curtesy. I was a rotten brother to her after Dad left."

Rias placed a hand on his shoulder, her eyes holding warmth. "You couldn't have been that bad. A little rowdy I can see that, but not rotten."

"I told her that she was reason dad left."

His words hung in the air, the gravity of them pressing down. The red headed devil didn't have a response, even as she opened her mouth, she quickly closed it. Rias briefly looked away, even taking a few steps from the couch. William held a neutral expression, for it was his past and the words he had spoken back then couldn't be taken back. Not even back then.

"I told her that a week after he left. She had bugged and bugged and bugged me about him coming home." He explained as he rose from the couch. "I was only eight and he left without so much as note. What could I possibly say to her? I mean what does a three-year-old know about having a father? And I was hurt, but that's no excuse. So, I lashed out. Took my anger out on her and my mother."

Rias side-eyed him though she made no movement.

Continuing William walked over to the ORC windows. "Eventually I just stopped being angry at him. I felt nothing, still kind of do." Running a hand over his head, the roughness of his growing hairs felt along his fingers, Williams laughed a little. "Sorry, I didn't mean to dump this kind of stuff on you. I should probably head home."

He bolted to the door, not wanting to hear or deal with any sort of pity or comfort for his life. He almost didn't stop when he heard her words. "Do you think you could forgive him?" Rias apparently had followed him halfway, for she now stood in front of the furniture, her arms uncrossed. She repeated her words, "Could you forgive him?"

"I uh..." The American teen had no answer. A chapter of his life had been suddenly opened again and he didn't know how to deal with it. "Don't know...I'll see you later."

Next Day

Pure fucking coincidence was something that William was finding harder and harder to believe in. For now, before him on a day off from school were the pervert of the group and the blonde nun from before. And only one thing came to mind when it all registered. "You have got to be fucking kidding!"

His unofficial junior in school smiled sheepishly, waving at him. "Yo Calister-senpai! What brings you here?"

The urge to punch the stupid look off his face was almost too much to register for William and he would have let it happen. But instead, he opted to take the high road. "Issei...Didn't Buchou tell you to stay away from the nun? No offense Miss."

In a bit of a panic Asia waved off his comment even as she bowed to him. "Please don't trouble yourself! Issei-san and you helped me. Devils or not, you're clearly not monsters."

Feeling uncomfortable the American teen couldn't help but look away, he still wasn't use to many Japanese customs and the bowing was high on the list. "Please don't, I didn't exactly do anything special. Also, shouldn't you not be talking with us?"

"Calister-senpai, Asia is a good person. She's isn't like those people with the fallen." Issei stated as he placed a hand over his chest. "She was kicked from the church for even helping a devil."

The nun in question placed her hand together and closed her eyes. "The Church teaches us that all living things deserve God's love, that redemption is possible for all." Upon her saying God, Issie like his head had been struck and William felt a small bit of irritation in the back of his skull.

Recovering from the feeling, Issei stood straight up again. "Maybe if Buchou got to know Asia and see that she isn't our enemy, maybe she'd be willing to help her."

Already knowing where this was going William scratched under his chin. "It won't matter; you heard her. Anyone not in the peerage isn't under Gremory protection. Hell look at my situation, I'm barely carrying a fraction of devil essence in my soul. I might as well be an honorary member for the sake of appearances."

"Bu-But we can't just leave her at their mercy!"

"THINK IT THROUGH!" William hadn't intended to shout but that's how it came out. His voice echoed slighting and the volume caused many to look towards the trio. "Say we help her then what? You gonna ask Rias-Buchou to make her a devil? What if she doesn't want to be one? How would she even keep worshipping God?" The slight feeling of irritation itched at the back of his skull returned upon saying that; strangely Issei seemed to suffer a headache. His feeling went away rather quickly so he continued. "You need a plan if you want to-"

"No plan will help any of you~." A familiar playful yet cold voice interrupted.

Issei found himself choking on his words and he couldn't find the strength to move. Floating about them was his nightmare, the woman who had lied and killed him. The smirk on Raynare's face could have been sold as a drug, she was both ecstatic to find the runaway nun but to see Issei and the strange foreign boy as well. Only now one was a devil, and the other was something else. She could detect small traces of devil energy within his soul, yet it was so small that it was more like he was only in contact with devils rather than being one. Her wings flapped in burst as she landed on a street lamp, her smirk fading as she summoned a Spear of Light. For William's part he felt rage, but he couldn't be sure if it was his own. Sure, this fallen woman had killed him and he had every right to be angry about it. But the anger felt old and pettier, like he was more insulted and dismayed at the action. Almost an "how dare she", more than anything else.

"The crow that started it all."

"I was wondering what two devils that Freed was talking about when we showed up last night, but I didn't expect this." Raynare almost gleefully flipped her spear around. "To think it was you two. Such lowly devils with even lower Sacred Gears."

William's face contorted but his expression was a mixed bag. "You know what I have?"

"Doubtful."

"Of course I do, why do you think I was willing to kill you? Had you been a regular human, perhaps I could have wiped your memory of even seeing us. But that thing in you can't be left unchecked."

"Then what is it?"

She hadn't expected this, a devil seeking answers for their situation wasn't uncommon, but she was his enemy just by existing. Still an opportunity is an opportunity. "You want to know, fine." The female fallen pointed her weapon at Asia, "Hand the girl over and I'll not only tell you, but I'll let you and Issei there live."

"Not only does she not know, she couldn't begin to know what I am. Still, this is amusing."

Issei responded immediately, stepping in front of his friend and summoning forth his Sacred gear. A large red gauntlet formed around his left arm, the green gem in the center of the hand glowed as he held up his hand. "You're not taking Asia!"

Raynare stared at Issei with a bored expression, it seemed like his display was nothing to her. But before she could respond, her instincts told her to move, with rapid flapping of her wings, she ascended into the air and did a twirl to the left. A bolt of golden lightning surged past her, the source of it holding his hand in upside down claw-like way.

"Nice try." William mocked as the lightning crackled on his arm. "I may be a bit of a bastard, but I'm that terrible."

*Shwick*

The wetness that spread around his chest was a shock, as was the blood that came out of his mouth. William collapsed to a knee, though he remained conscious. He was getting sick of getting stabbed and holes being created on his body, even if he already felt his healing kicking in. If anything, it made getting the wounds worse.

"Senpai! GAH!" A Spear of Light pierced Issei's chest, near where he had been stabbed when he was killed. Coughing out blood he fell to the ground, a pool of blood started to form around his body.

"Perhaps I'll make sure you two stay dead this time." Raynare summoned another spear in her hand as she walked forward.

"NO!" Asia spread her arms wide as she stayed in front of Issei with desperation in her eyes. "You don't have to do this!"

Raynare dismissed her weapon and roughly grabbed Asia by her cheeks, bringing the girl up to her face. "You dare back talk me! Did you forget that I don't need you in perfect condition?! I could remove your limbs and keep you alive as a sack of meat. So long as you are still alive, that's more than enough."

"Maggot I have a proposal for that crow, but only if you listen to me right now."

Being call that didn't sit right, especially from a voice in his head, but he didn't have time to care. The began to explain and William's eye's bugled slightly. "You can't be serious."

Getting to his feet, he summoned the golden lightning around himself. The energy crackled and seem to calm until it changed, becoming just pure energy. William could suddenly feel an intense force within his body, though it raging throughout. Locking eyes on Raynare, he made a motion with his hands, pushing down on the air as if there was some invisible force under them. The fallen suddenly found herself struggling to stay up, looking for the cause she caught William in the corner of her eyes just as she suddenly fell to the ground bringing Asia with her. It felt like an invisible weight was on top of her, and while it was difficult to move it was possible. Summoning a light spear she threw it, forcing him to dodge and release her.

"That will not happen again!" Acting fast, she summoned another spear flying towards him. *Shwick*

"AAAAAAAAH!" Asia's scream pierced the air as William's body slumped to the ground, a Spear of Light imbedded in his head.

Issei could only watch as Raynare then grabbed Asia, flying off as she left them for dead. The only thing he could think of was how he failed to save her and his senpai was likely dead because of him too.

China, Hong Kong

Amidst the streets of the third largest country in the world, Joe was busy crossing somethings off his list. Placing the pen on his ear, he reviewed the remaining locations he had left to check. "Just saying somewhere in Asia isn't much of a location Kaguya..."

He felt like he was on a wild goose chase, which for all intent and purpose he was. Looking for an individual that could upset the balance of the world in a world filled with billions of people, was not only tough but he was almost positive that perhaps the person was either old as dirt or a newborn that accidentally awoke to the power. Not to mention he stood out everywhere he went, a feeling he was accustomed to. Still, it was time to move on to the next location.

"How many apes does it take to find a needle in a haystack I wonder~?" A male voice mimicking a chirping like sound reached Joe's ears. He looked around himself, only seeing people walking every which way and no one stood out to him. "Not down there."

Looking up he saw no one on the buildings but did see a flock of birds coming out of a nearby alley. Making his way over the voice seemed to taunt him, "Warmer." Even as he entered the alley, he still saw no one. Breathing deeply tensed his muscles and prepared his mind for whatever was to come. "So, stressed out. What did the insect not give the monkey a banana before having him fetch."

"Come on out and we get rid of my stress." Joe now had his breath visible despite it not being cold. The hairs stood up on his head stand up and he dove to the right as someone landed where he was standing. Dust was everywhere and the odd sound of metal hitting concrete could be heard.

"Glad to know you still have your reflexes." A set of red glowing eyes could be seen in the cloud, as it subsided, a young man of pale skin and greased back green hair stood gleefully sneering. He was wearing a ripped yellow tank top and purple sweats, despite being on the street he wore no shoes. However, the strangest thing was that his arms were a set of metal blades that curves inward at the tip. "Happy to see you still kicking Joey-boy!"

Throwing a rock, Joe sighed and relaxed. "Of course it's you. I half expected the one of the others."

Slicing the rock, the Stranger stretched his arms as the returned to normal. Reaching into his pockets he slipped back on a series of rings. Two gold ones on his left index and pinky finger, silver one with a pink gem on his right middle finger and bronze ring on his thumb. "Who else could it be but me. Though I suppose I did look different back then."

"Yeah, for one you weren't even a man. Who killed you then?"

"The damn roman emperor that's who."

Joe laughed leaning against the wall, tears threatening to spill out. "Wasn't his host like a child at the time while you were a trained soldier? How'd that happen?"

"Oh, fuck you." The stranger flipped him off. "I was caught in a surprise attack by him and that bastard from Brazil." Calming down he walked over to Joe, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. Lighting one for himself he offered one to the African American, though it was refused. "So, the Queen sent you to look or was it his majesty?"

Joe grunted pinching his nose due to the smell. "You think he would want me searching? No, I'm not even allowed to go to his country unless it's under special circumstances. She has me searching, though so far, I got nothing."

The stranger smiled before taking a long inhale. "I know something you don't know~."

Not in the mood Joe grabbed the cigarette and threw it. "Not in the mood metal beak."

"Alright alright. I can tell you where he's located, but you gotta agree to let me talk to him first."

"And why would I do that?"

The stranger's eyes glowed red once again. "Let's just say some of the others have forgotten who's in charge on our side."

Japan

Waking up and not knowing where he was, was a fear of William's and for a split second he was living it. His own room looked like a foreign place for a while, but slowly his brain caught up. "Wait..." Reaching up to feel his head, the memories of Raynare stabbing him in the head came back. Like the rest of him, not even a scar remained as evidence of the event happening. "Guess there is a benefit of this shit. Though I could do without just as well."

"-HE'S my boy first! Not your damn servant!" The voice of his father reached his ears, suddenly picking up on the yelling. Getting out of bed, he practically flew out his room and down the stairs to find his father and Rias across from each other, the kitchen countertop between them. His father looked irate and while Rias looked very displease. And neither of them noticed him.

"William made his choice once I told him what my brother and the others concluded. He's a member of my peerage." Rias stated calmly, her arms folded under her bust.

Issac shook his head and placed his hands on the countertop. "You can't even use your devil magic to ensure his safety or to detect anything with him until it's too late. And you don't even have a clue about his Sacred Gear! Far as I'm concerned, he isn't bound to you.

William decided speak up for himself. "I'm fine by the way."

The two looked to him and neither was amused by his joke. Rias was the first to act, coming up to him and cupping his face with her hands. "You shouldn't be up; it took a while to heal you from your injury."

Feeling heat rise, William smiled and clasped her hands to take them off his face. "I'm fine Buchou, I promise. Not sure how but I'm fine."

Hearing a chuckle the two saw Issac pouring himself an alcoholic drink. "No, you're not. You aren't even a devil, yet you heal. Holy magic doesn't seem to harm you and the Gremory Heiress here has been told to keep you as valuable unknown."

"Dad!" The younger Calister shouted knowing that his dad was spouting off more out of worry than malic. "Enough. I knew the risk and I will deal with it. Don't act like you get to undo this decision."

Issac frowned but looked to his phone. "I could call your mother, tell her you aren't listening and getting into trouble. Have you sent back to the states and serve your juvie time. Cruel? Yes, but better than worrying about you this way."

Stepping away from Rias, William's eyes flashed orange for a brief moment. "You threatening me with that?! You do that and I'll make sure Cynthia wants nothing and I mean fucking nothing to do with you." A slight growl edged at the end of his words.

The two Calisters stared each other down, but Issac relented. He took his drink and walked away, going to his room. Rias felt like she would need to leave due to the tension in the air between father and son, but she needed to clarify some things with William. "Issei told me what happened. He's adamant about trying to rescue Asia. I told him it's not possible, but he likely won't listen. How are you feeling?"

"Maggot, that crow has harmed us this way for the last time. The next meeting will be the last. But don't kill her."

William poured himself a glass of water and down it rather quickly. "I'm angry that bitch got me so badly. But I did learn something interesting."

"Yes..." The red head placed her arms on the counter. "Issei described it as you forced Raynare down with the air. That's not an energy thing, unless you commanded the wind."

"Drain the crow like normal but hold on for a while and then when I tell you reverse the process. We send our energy into her. Then release her when I tell you to."

"Can't say if it was air, just felt like pressure that I could apply."

"Pressure...If you don't mind, I would like to know anything else about your Sacred Gear. It seems like I could be mistaken." Rias frowned, the idea that she didn't know the capabilities of one of her peerage troubled her.

"I don't mind, but I don't know much." William nodded at her as he set the cup in the sink. "However, I do have a request. Due to my 'special' circumstances, I'm itching for revenge. And I have a bit of an idea if Issei is going to go after Raynare. More of a request if you would."

"That crow will learn what it means to make me angry."

Author Note: The amount of times we re-wrote this chapter is kind of unreal. We each even wrote our own separate versions and tried to mash them together at one point because there were so many things that we disliked and hoped the other could make up for it. But it got done and we kind of have a rhythm going right now. Meps has already begun writing the next chapter since she's sad about her job forcing time off, so she's trying to fill the time with something.
