Hello there!

Did ya miss me?

Okay, so this is NOT my first time at a Fairy Tail story, but it most definitely is the first multi-chapter, full-on develping story one. And after ATLA, I did promise I was going to bring you Fairy Tail. I do sincerely apologize for the delay, a lot has happened since. I'll try to keep the intro short, but know that the lightbulb behind this was "Natsu, Gajeel, Laxus and Wendy have their mates. Why don't Sting and Rogue have them?"

So like the writer that I am, I just went "Let me start with Sting."

So, welcome to my first multi-chapter, monster of a Fairy Tail story!

I hope you like it :)

Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Fairy Tail. I do however, own the rights to this story and OC characters that might appear in the future.

Chapter I: Welcome to Sabertooth

X—X

She stood in front of the large doors, wondering if she was making the right decision. The gut feeling she had followed all the way there told her so, but this was an opportunity like no other. She only hoped everything would work out. She had the world waiting for her, but this was the path that she wanted to take.

She pushed the doors open and was immediately greeted by the rowdy sounds of a bar fight. She dodged a flying chair and smiled as patrons from behind the bar shouted at patrons on the other side of the room. There were swear words, threats, promises for a beatdown, and flying objects all around, and she giggled.

She walked to the bar, looking for someone to help her. The few patrons who had been sipping on their drinks either joined the fight or took their glasses somewhere safer. The only one who looked at ease was a beautiful woman with pristine white hair and a sweet smile on her face. She walked up to the beautiful woman and waved.

"Hello."

Her brown eyes fell on the stranger, but her smile did not fade. "Hi, there! Hm, how may I help you?"

"I, hum... I was wondering if it would be possible for me to join this Guild?" she bit her lip, but the woman lit up.

"Oh, of course! A new face and a new mage will always be welcomed here." She jumped down from the counter. "Wait here, I'm going to get our Master."

She nodded and watched as the white-haired woman ran through the fight and up the stairs. She took a deep breath and sat down at the counter, waiting.

She knocked on the door and opened it just enough to poke her head inside the office. "Hey there."

The office inside was messy, and the Exceed that napped on the small couch on the other side of the room peered one eye open to greet her. The white-haired beauty smiled and turned to the man behind the desk.

"Hey." he looked up, "What is it?"

"You okay? You look stressed."

"I'm fine, this will be over soon," he growled. "What do you need?"

"We have a fresh new recruit. She wants to join. Come meet her!"

"Ugh, not right now." he groaned, "Have her sign the forms, and I'll go down in five minutes to see if I want them."

"Are you sure? Don't you want to meet her?" she frowned.

"I will. In five. Go."

She nodded and closed the door. She walked downstairs and went behind the counter. She grabbed a clipboard and a form and smiled at the stranger. The two sat side by side at the counter while the guild kept arguing and fighting, and the white-haired mage smiled.

"I'm sorry about all this." she motioned behind her. "We're a rowdy bunch."

"Oh, no, it's... I love the energy." she giggled.

"Okay, so, let's start with introductions. My name is Yukino. This is Sabertooth. I'm not going to tell you its story since it's a long one, and I don't know half of it."

The stranger giggled.

"So, I'll write down the things I can already see..." Yukino started writing, then looked up. "Is that really your eye color?"

"Hm, yes. I know that it is an unusual color, but-!"

"It's beautiful." Yukino smiled, taking in her pupilless periwinkle eyes. "So, what's your name?"

"Sylvia. Moone. Everyone calls me Ivy." she pushed a lock of her hair behind her ear.

"Ivy, huh?" Yukino nodded, writing it down. "Magic type?"

"I'm a Sound Mage."

"Oh, that is impressive!" The mage replied. "Were you in any guild prior to Sabertooth? And if so, which and why did you leave?"

"No, I was not. Sabertooth is the first guild I'm joining."

"How old are you?"

"19." she smiled.

"Well, you're around our age." Yukino nodded. "Civil status?"

"Single." Ivy looked away.

"Aw, no boyfriend?" the Celestial Mage teased.

"Nope. Haven't found the one."

"Ah, you still have an entire life to live." she frowned "Oh, hum. Address. So that we can contact you or reach you if an emergency happens."

"Oh, I... I got here last night, by train. I rented a room in a motel until I can rent an apartment." Ivy explained.

"Nonsense, you can stay here!" Yukino waved her off. "That is not a problem."

"Oh, thank you!" Ivy blushed.

"Hm... favorite color? For the guild mark."

"Oh, can I get lavender?" she gasped.

"Of course you can!" Yukino signed the form and turned it to Ivy. "Please sign here."

Ivy took the pen and signed her name. Yukino grinned and nodded. "What now?"

"Now, we wait for our guild master to get his butt down here, and give you your guild mark!" Yukino gushed. "Have you given it any thought about where you want it?"

"Hm, not yet." Ivy frowned. "Where do you have yours?"

"On my waist." she pointed to her left side. "Come on! Come meet everyone while we wait!"

Yukino grabbed Ivy by the hand and pulled her to the middle of the fight. One shout later, and everyone had noticed the new presence in the guild. The Celestial Mage took her time to properly introduce her to her new guildmates, and Ivy was quickly welcomed by them.

When Sting finally left his office, he took a deep breath. His head was throbbing, and he was sure that a drink would help. Lately, things had been hectic, not just as a Master, but as a Dragon Slayer as well. Ever since the Iron Dragon Slayer had taken and marked the little Script mage as his mate, his instincts had been going haywire. He was not the only one feeling it, Rogue and Natsu felt the calling too. Wendy was too young to follow through, Natsu was too stupid, and Rogue knew how to control himself.

That left Sting to face his own alone. And not that he had little control over himself, but gut feelings sometimes talk louder. So, he took advantage of the mountains of paperwork he had to do to keep his head occupied. And it was all going well, his head on his shoulders, his dragon somewhat contained, his behavior in check...

Until that morning.

That morning, he woke up with a weight on his chest. That morning, he woke up with a song in his blood, that morning he woke up hungry. And he knew exactly what that meant. He could feel it. His mate was nearby, and his dragon wanted to stake a claim.

He walked down the stairs and frowned. The guild was rowdy, but there was no fighting. As a matter of fact, most of them were surrounding a new figure that he had never seen before. A head of bright orange hair stood next to Yukino as she saw Dobengal mess around. The giggle sound that followed the young man crashing against a table was the sweetest he had ever heard, so full of hope and cheer.

He walked closer to them. She was... beautiful. The bright orange tresses were wavy, falling down to her waist. Her hands were small and gentle, covering her mouth. Petite and elegant, and with a kind voice. He sniffed the air and tripped on his feet. She smelled like a warm spring morning, fresh but sweet, like honey and blueberries. She smelled like sunshine.

"Oh, Sting!" Rufus exclaimed, and Yukino turned.

"Ah, there you are, Master!" the Celestial Mage waved. "Come, meet the new recruit!"

Sting nodded and began to walk to them. Rufus, Yukino, and the redhead stood up, and the Dragon Slayer was quick to get to them. Upon closer inspection, he noticed she was at least a head shorter than him, and that Frosch had already made themselves acquainted with the young woman. He reached out a hand.

"I'm Sting Eucliffe. Master of Sabertooth."

She raised her head to look at him, smiled gently, and shook his hand. "Sylvia Moone. Please call me Ivy."

"Nice to meet you, Ivy." he nodded. "Yukino told me you wanted to join Sabertooth?"

"Yes, if that is alright with you." She bit her lip, and Sting watched the motion.

"Yes, of course. I gathered you've filled out... the form?"

"Yes, Yukino helped. Is there anything else needed?" she asked and hugged herself when he finally let go of her hand.

"Yeah. Where do you want your mark, and what color?" he asked, pulling a magic stamp out of his pocket.

"Oh, hum... lavender, please." she pondered and looked down on herself. "And... could it be on the side of my neck? Right side, if that's alright."

"Sure." Sting nodded and motioned her to turn.

She did so, and Sting pushed the curtain of fiery hair back. The scent that emanated from her neck made him curse internally, of so mouthwatering flavor. He swallowed hard and raised the stamp, pressing it against the side of her neck. She exhaled quietly, her shoulders relaxing, and she craned her head slightly to the side, giving him more room.

Sting pulled back the stamp and watched as the magic stopped glowing, revealing the lavender Sabertooth symbol. But then the colors of the tiger began to leak to the extremities, leaving a natural gradient – very pale lavender in the middle, and a darker outline. Yukino gasped and Sting let go of her hair, watching as the magic ended in a swirl.

"How did that happen?" the white-haired mage asked.

"Oh, what?" she turned to look at the two, full round lips parted.

"Your guild mark... it changed."

"Colors?" she guessed. "Ah, that's... normal. It's my magic. It often times chooses which colors go on my skin, see?"

She showed them her left wrist, where a monarch butterfly could be seen. But the blacks had turned into navy blue, the white bright red, and the orange gradients lilac. Yukino cooed and grabbed her wrist, and Sting simply looked at her. He made a mental note to go through her file later and do a little research on her, but something told him he would not find much.

So he settled with a smile, a nod and a kind word.

"Welcome to Sabertooth, Ivy."
