Epilogue Arc: Roland Kingdom

Chris had no real idea that with the end of the war, the re-instatement of the Roland Kingdom was soon decided. Well, he found out as they had meetings, but still… Despite all his training in his youth, it was far more now. It was now well over a year after the war, and yet he was still dealing with more than enough snags.

"So not only is Wakamiya Kingdom basically merging with us of their own free will, the Seno Kingdom may try as well?" He asked, looking towards Mei Lin at the other desk.

"I wouldn't say Seno would merge. You are a bachelor."

"Why would I marry when I was in the middle of a mess like this?"

"It's your choice to accept the re-instatement. I didn't allow the action for mine."

"You're now a high noble under Weilhausen." He noted back, looking over the progress in regards to repairs. Most of the civilian and shop structures were ready and thriving. The castle was rebuilt over a matter of at least four months and still had things to fix. What remained of the strange structure was being torn down for parts as much as they could to avoid budget issues.

"It's a formality," she simply answered, looking towards Billy. "Billy's a high noble under your kingdom too."

"I wouldn't care if you wanted to leave, just thought it was worth giving a reward for your loyalty." He griped back a little, noting the letter on his desk. "Is this from Alice?"

"King Weilhausen's fourth wife." Billy commented with a smile. "As Mei Lin noted, you're a rising royal and single. Who knows how many you'll get before the kingdom is back up?"

"What is with these people?" Chris turned away from the letter and began to work again.

"It's been some time, King Roland." The celebration ball had finally began for the once lost kingdom in the Lotis war. One of many, but the only one with enough to scrape up a revival. Chris sat on the refurbished throne as people bowed to greet him.

"King Wakamiya certainly has a reason to visit." The two being merged more or less was not to take out Kyo's title, but to create an alliance.

"I would think being friends is still a reason?" The other king smiled as the two simply relaxed the slightest bit. "I would have brought a wife, but we're still in a bit of a pickle."

"Let me guess," Chris stood up as he nodded to Mei Lin to keep people off of him for now. "Not a day without a request for your kingdom's highest position or concubine?"

"I hear King Weilhausen gets them too." The two grasped a flute each from one of the passing servants. "No one wants to believe that Frei has given up his line in succession. People ask me where he is all the time."

"He's not exactly easy to find, as is Alice." He had heard that the two had basically rarely contacted anyone outside of letting them know where they had been. "Now that Mayura's basically Queen, everyone is after Alice to gain some sort of relationship with Seno." He noted the gaze being a bit disheartened. "Still a sore subject, I apologize."

"It's less of a sore subject and more I wish I could have more contact with her. She's certainly looking better, but… It feels like she's less going back to where she was."

"If anything, that's probably for the best." He remembered how hard it had been to really speak to her. During her recovery and before the final decision had been made, she had been awkward. It was easy to tell how she had been so hard to find before. In fact, it felt like she had been relieved of the large burden that she kept putting on herself. Still, the fact she had simply left like that was hard for everyone. Though, perhaps, Mayura had encouraged it.

"I will still take her if Frei does horrible things to her." Kyo commented, taking another sip. "So no trying to stop me."

"I'd probably join you if he did something that stupid."

It was said that forty years later, the Roland Kingdom was blossoming. King Chris Roland was perhaps a new man out of the conflict that had torn him away from his rich and blessed existence. Eventually after the Kingdom's renewal he wed one of the many daughters of the Weilhausen Kingdom. The two of them had a particularly simple, but logical political relationship and birthed four children during his reign.

It was said that his right hand and left hand were just as strong and supportive. The two eventually wed someone they thought was good enough. Mei Lin Most likely wed some man from Wakamiya and had a pair of twins. Billy found true love with a maid in Seno Kingdom and the two eventually left after he retired. Though it is said he left an heir, no one really saw the heir that often. Perhaps because of his desire for the child to be free from any political duties.

To this day they remain strongest in alliance with the Wakamiya and Seno Kingdoms. Yet, sometimes, a couple comes by to make sure that they aren't too burdened by the past...
