A/N: TW: Talk of drugs and addiction, we all know Lenny has his demons and in this chapter he comes to some realizations about them. It doesn't go into too much detail but there is talk of drug paraphernalia and the consequences of using. If that's too much for you skip the paragraphs between the **** **** and i'll leave a summery at the bottom, take care of yourselves and as always, thanks for reading!
Lenny stood watching Midge from the side of the stage, she was magnificent as always, captivating. He was happy for her, he'd known from the first time he saw her perform she'd be famous one day, some people just had that thing and she had tons of it. He knew he'd do whatever he could to make sure she got the recognition she deserved. He'd always known he wasn't going to make much of himself and he saw that was coming to fruition because pretty soon there'd be no stage that let him step foot on it but before that happened he'd do what he could to help her, he'd have still done it even if nothing romantic ever happened between them. Lenny cared too much about her not too, and that was long before their drunken marriage. He told himself when he divorced Honey he'd never get married again and at the time he wanted to be able to tell himself he'd never fall in love again either but he recognized by then he was already halfway there, so Lenny knew that'd be a lie. He supposed none of that mattered now, here he was married to Midge and even though he realized it was much too soon to tell her, Lenny was in love with her too.
Over lunch, she told him about her first show in Vegas and about her hardships in switching from a New York comic to a traveling one. They lost track of time talking about nothing important and by the time Midge checked her wristwatch they had to run across the strip so that they could make it back to the Hotel in time for her to make it to her set. He was surprised that with a tour this big she didn't have people to help her get ready to go on stage, that was when she laughed loudly and regaled him on all the details of her first show.
He laughed at another one of her jokes and mentally applauded her timing, for the first time in a long time he felt content, felt like he could keep doing this and that this could be his life. He had the absent thought that the only thing that would make this better would be if he was high right now but his stash was across town in his cheap motel room. It was probably for the best, he didn't want to be that way around Midge, he didn't want her to see him like that and he didn't want to do something to royally fuck up whatever they were building towards.
That was a sobering thought, if they were to be a real married couple, live together in a house, with their kids, maybe a dog, they'd be around each other all the time and if he didn't want her to see him like that he wouldn't have much opportunity to get high. He wasn't an idiot, he knew what he was doing was bad for him, he lost many of the buddies he made in the war from the syringe and still, he kept doing it. He didn't want to imagine what it'd be like for Midge to find him like that, in the bathroom, passed out from being too high, or worse, overdosing with a tunicate wrapped around his arm and a needle still in it. He cringed at the image he was making in his mind, he couldn't ever let that happen. That only meant one of two things, he could either leave, stay far away from Midge and keep fucking up his life the way he'd been doing the last decade, or he could quit it. Going by the fact that he already told Midge he wanted to give them a go, and the fact that she told him she wanted to be together, that first choice wasn't really a choice at all.
So that was that, he supposed, he was going to have to kick the habit. It wasn't a fond prospect, he'd tried to quit before, and to say it wasn't a pretty sight would be an understatement, that was another thing that he couldn't let Midge see. Fuck, was he crazy? Doing all this for a broad? No, he needed to do it anyway, he'd known that for a long time, his daughter never needed to see him that way either, and Kitty had already seen far too much for her young age. Before, when he was still with Honey they both got high and that made for quite a few memories Lenny would like to forget and hoped Kitty was too young to remember.
So, he'd just have to do it, after he went to visit Kitty he'd go back to Miami, lock himself in his room, and clean himself out. Then he'd pack his shit up and move back to New York, Florida was becoming less welcoming by the day anyway, and he was sure he'd be blackballed there by the end of the year. He had some offerings in New York and his manager even told him about a meeting he had set up with the people at Carnegie Hall, he told Tommy he was an idiot for even trying, Lenny'd never be able to do a set there but his manager didn't listen, which was annoying but also one of the reasons Tommy was such a good manager. Lenny already knew it was a pipe dream and tried to put it out of his head.
He was brought out of his thoughts by loud laughter in the room, Midge gave a moment for the laughs to taper off before continuing, "Think about it, think about it, Las Vegas is the true American melting pot, proving that losing money is the universal language."
After another laugh, this one a little quieter she continued, "Now I'm Jewish and I'm from New York and that's perhaps exotic for some of you. So I thought it'd be helpful for me to present to you a primer to the Jewish people."
The crowd seemed excited for the idea and Midge nodded her head along with the clapping. She held her hands up with each of them extending one finger. "First of all, we are always ready to talk about food. See you're all eating dinner and I just want to ask what you're eating, if it's good, and tell you what you should have ordered."
Lenny laughed along with the crowd, "Complaining! This is big with us. What repressing your emotions is to WASPs, complaining is to Jews, it's second nature. But the key is the complaint should never be about big important things, only little things like 'It's hot out, this restaurant is so far, this line is so long.' You know, things nobody can do anything about. Remember, you're not trying to fix anything, you're just trying to be heard."
Half the crowd laughed while the other half made agreeing noises, "Guilt is big with us, and we use it wisely. And it's not for making yourself feel bad about something you did, it's about making someone else feel bad about something they didn't do. Jewish parents…"
She paused when there were a few loud noises of agreement and one lady even stood up. Midge nodded and pointed at her, "Mhmm, yell at your sons for not eating enough, yell at your daughters for eating too much. And there is the thing often attributed to our great profit Abraham: 'Anything you can do… isn't all that interesting to me.'" That one got a huge laugh, Lenny noted it was a great closer and reminded himself to tell her that when she no doubt asked his opinion.
"Okay, that's it for me ladies and gentlemen, you've been a great audience, thanks for listening, I'm Mrs. Maisel."
The cheers were so loud, Lenny could tell she wasn't expecting them, her eyes were wide and her smile grew even bigger. "Oh, thank you. May I please introduce, the voice, the legend, my dashing friend, Shy Baldwin!"
The curtains behind her started to open up as she walked off of the stage and right into Lenny's arms, reminiscent of the night at the Gaslight. "God, I'm great at that! Aren't I great?" Midge said into Lenny's shoulder still hugging him. He was surprised but not upset that when she pulled away she stood on her toes and kissed him.
"Now Mrs. Maisel, I don't think you need me to tell you that, if your head gets any bigger it'll explode."
"Yeah, you're right, I don't need your approval, did you hear them out there? I got hundreds of people already telling me how great I am."
"Alright, alright, come on now, let's get a drink. Wait, you're not too famous now to have drinks with lowly ole' me, are you? I have about forty-five minutes before I gotta head to my show."
"Normally, I don't bother to be seen around 'normies', as we famous people call them, anymore but I guess I could make an exception for you."
"Oh, what a lucky boy I am." He laughed before leading her off the stage and to a table with his hand on her lower back.
Midge felt great, she loved the feeling she got after a great set, it was like a high and she always wanted more of it. They sat down and still she couldn't stop smiling, The man who owned the place waved at Midge as he walked by with yet another woman, Midge had already been introduced to his wife, his girlfriend, maybe this one was his mistress? She leaned over to Lenny and spoke in a conspiratorial voice, "He's the head of 'Food and Beverage."
Lenny nodded, "Ahh."
"No, Food and Beverage."
Lenny smirked while he dug in his pockets for his cigarette, "I heard you the first time."
"No, that's code here, he's in the mob."
His smirk was more of a smile now, "I figured that's what you meant, Midge. Plus, he's got the look about him."
A waiter came and brought them over their drinks, apparently, Midge's preferences were already known here and he was brought something brown, which was fine for him, he sniffed it before taking a sip and realized it was scotch. Midge leaned in closer to him and put her head on his shoulder while she listened to the music, he couldn't say he minded at all. However, he did notice there was a lot of press around and they hadn't talked about what they were going to do. Were they hiding that they were married? He was sure she'd want to tell her parents herself.
He didn't care one way or the other, he could care less about what the newspapers reported about him, he was already fucked in the eyes of the people anyway. Midge on the other hand was a different story, she was an up-and-comer, she had the chance to be the best there ever was and he was not going to get in the middle of that. He'd make sure of that. So that meant he had to think ahead, he had to keep their relationship secret and their names far away from each other in the public's mouth or he had to find a way to still do what he loved and be able to say things that need to be said without landing himself in jail and keep from dragging everyone close to him's name through the mud. It was no easy task, it was why so few people knew that he had a kid and why he kept her far away but he'd figure out a way to do it because he wasn't going to give Miriam up. Not now that she was coming into the marriage with her eyes wide open and she wanted to stay anyway. This was his chance, he'd wanted her for a long time, and for the first time, he saw that as a possibility as long as he didn't fuck that up. He refused to hurt her career with his bad name.
The time passed by quickly so when he was sure no one was watching them, everyone was too focused on Shy, he grabbed her chin to turn her head and kissed her. He felt her lips smile against him as she pulled away. "I have to get going if I want any chance of making it to my set."
"Okay, I'll come with you, I just have to grab my stuff from the dressing room," She said as she was starting to get up.
"You sure? You don't have any after-work shmoozing to do?"
She hesitated for a moment before shaking her head, "No, it's fine." Lenny quirked his brow at her, "Okay, Shy did invite me to the after-party but I don't have to go."
"It's cool Midge, go, have fun."
"Are you sure?" Lenny nodded, so Midge thought for a second before continuing a little shyly, "Okay, I'll stay but you'll come back after? Maybe catch the end of the party, We've barely got this honeymoon started."
His smirk turned lascivious, "I wouldn't miss it."
Midge waded through the crowd, it was even more busy than it was the last time Shy had a party. She couldn't believe this was going to be her life for the next six months, traveling to amazing places, getting paid to make people laugh, and partying with famous people after. Now, because of what happened two nights ago, she was also a newlywed on top of all that. She hadn't been this excited for the future since she got engaged to Joel and graduated college. She made sure to leave Lenny's name with the people watching the door but she also thought it probably wouldn't be necessary. Even though they were joking about it earlier Lenny was anything but a normal person, he was famous, way more so than her. He was so well known he rubbed elbows with Zsa Zsa Gabor, she had a feeling he was the type of person that'd get welcomed into any party.
She'd been thinking, worrying was more like it, about how to introduce him to everyone when he got here. They hadn't spoken about what they'd tell people and she think she landed on just leaving it vague for now. She grabbed a drink from a server walking by, she was a little nervous for tonight because she had all intentions of taking Lenny up to her room tonight and finally consummating their marriage. More accurately, she wanted to take him upstairs, rip off his clothes, and ride him at a gallop until his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he couldn't walk. She let a secret smile cross her face, now that she was no longer pushing away her feelings and wants for Lenny she was excited and even inhibited.
"Midge, get over here, where have you been hiding all night?" She heard Shy yell from the other side of the room. She looked and saw him in a position that she'd come to find was normal for him, sitting on a couch with women fawning over him and Reggie not far off to the side watching everything.
She walked over with a smile, "Oh you know here and there, just enjoying the party. It's crazy here tonight."
He whistled, "Whoo-ee you were on fire tonight, I was even a little nervous to go on after you."
She pretended to fan herself, "Why, Mr. Baldwin, I do believe that's one of the best compliments I've ever received." Another one that popped into her mind was when Lenny said the same thing, well, in a way only Lenny Bruce could.
"Seriously, Midge, you did great. Now, let's unwind, we've earned it. I see you've already found yourself a drink." Shy said in his normal flirty and happy tone.
"Yes, apparently it's only the best of the best for those on your tour."
"That's right, we work hard, now it's time to relax and enjoy the rest of the night."
"I hope you don't mind, I invited someone to join me here tonight."
"Oh," Shy said holding the O for a long time, sounding interested and ready for some gossip, "Does that mean you've met someone out on the town?"
"Oh no, I've known him for years, actually since the first night I stepped on stage."
Shy sounded even more interested when he asked, "So he came all the way out here just to see you? It must be someone really special. Anyone I might know?"
"No," She laughed sounding embarrassed while waving her hand in a 'no' motion and couldn't help but wonder if she was blushing, "He didn't come out here for me, he just happened to have some work out here too."
"Hmm," Shy said, looking at her and making her feel like he was seeing more than she meant to show, "I notice you didn't answer the second part of my question."
"Oh," She laughed a little awkwardly although she wasn't really sure why. It wasn't as if she was embarrassed to be with Lenny or anything. Maybe it was all the rumors she was dealing with over the years, every time they're caught in public together reporters have a field day speculating about their relationship, even when she was a nobody, hell even when he was still married. She'd seen him in the papers with other women and for some reason, they weren't scrutinized with him as much as she was. Maybe that was why she felt so weird about it, she almost felt like now that they were together, she'd have to fight twice as hard to prove they hadn't been together the whole time, that he didn't help her out those times because she was opening her legs for him. She eventually landed on, "Yeah, you've probably heard of him before."
"You got me on the edge of my seat here, Midge," Shy said with a smile. She opened her mouth to reply but a girl came up behind him and wrapped her arm around his, Midge couldn't help but notice the quick and small grimace of distaste Shy made, Midge supposed he wasn't a fan of a woman touching him unless he engaged first, he didn't push her away though.
She laughed again, "Shy no need for that, it's not that big of a deal. It's Lenny Bruce," she said as nonchalantly as possible, she wasn't sure how they were going to act around each other in public because they hadn't talked about it yet. She internally sighed at the fact that they spent all day together and they talked the whole time and still never came to any decisions about their future as a married couple.
"Hmm, didn't I hear something about you two being an item in the past?"
"I'm sure you did," she said with a roll of her eyes, "People have been trying to say we've been sleeping together for years just because we're friends and he's helped me out of a few sticky situations. Little do they know I've helped him out of a few myself, it's just that mine weren't as public. It's like people can't believe Lenny would help me and my career for any other reason than me opening my legs for him." The girl next to Shy gasped, as if she'd never heard such foul language before in her life, for a second Midge was worried she was going to faint. So a little sarcastically she asked, "You okay there? Should I get you some water?"
It might have been rude but this girl was hanging out backstage with a band, if that got her light-headed it'd be better for her health if she left now. Shy just laughed, "So you're saying you've never slept together?"
Midge gasped exaggeratedly, "Mr. Baldwin, I'm a lady, you don't ask a lady those types of questions."
"Oh please, I've heard your sets, Mrs. Maisel, you're not fooling me, you're dodging the question."
She laughed, "Okay, okay, If you must know, no, we've never slept together." She thought to herself that she could say that with a straight face because it was true but if he were to ask her tomorrow, well if all went to plan that might be a different story.
"Interesting. I know that look in your eyes though, I'm going to have to ask you that question again in a few weeks and I bet you'll have a different answer."
She feigned offense, "As I said, I'm a proper lady, I'm not sleeping with anyone who isn't my husband." Both she and Shy chuckled but the joke had different meanings for each of them.
Shy opened his mouth to respond but he closed his mouth and looked past Midge with a friendly smile on his face a second before Midge felt a familiar hand on her lower back. She turned around and smiled at Lenny happy he made it and was a little surprised when he leaned in and kissed her cheek.
"Hey, how was your show?"
"You know, same old, same old, I made it to the end without getting placed in cuffs and got paid, so I consider it a win. Though the local police were there waiting for the smallest slip-up, there were a few close calls."
She rolled her eyes, "I knew I should have gone with you, for someone who makes his living off of talking, you're terrible at telling stories about yourself."
"Everyone's a critic." He scoffed.
Shy cleared his throat, he saw the two falling into their own little world and wanted an introduction before that happened. He reached his hand out to Lenny, "And you must be Lenny Bruce, I've heard a lot about you."
Lenny shook his hand, "Oh God, I never like hearing that, people rarely ever hear anything good." He laughed and so did Shy, "Mr. Baldwin, of course, I know who you are, my mother will plotz when she hears I've met you."
"Always nice to meet a fan… or a child of one anyway." Shy joked, and they all laughed.
The three stood and talked for a while, Midge was happy that it seemed like the two got on well enough, she liked when the important people in her life got along with each other. Lenny was standing closer to her than he would have the week before and he was touching her more but he was also keeping it ambiguous, no touching her in too intimate of places or holding onto her too long, she figured he was just as unsure how to handle this as she was. Though she had to admit, even though his touches were limited, it was still firing her up. He knew what he was doing too, the way he'd hold her eyes a second too long when he made a racey joke, or the lingering touches to her lower back, at one point he dragged his finger along the underside of her arm and goosebumps followed the trail. He'd hold onto a cigarette a second too long when handing it to her and didn't think twice about offering her a sip of his drink once hers ran out. By the time Shy made his excuses, Midge was ready to drag Lenny upstairs to her bedroom and have her way with him.
She waved to Shy as he went back to his group after Reggie came to drag him away and she slowly turned her eyes to Lenny and saw that he was already staring at her, his eyes were darker than she was used to and she was sure that it wasn't just the lighting.
"Midge…"
She cut him off, "Let's continue this upstairs."
He didn't say anything, he just took her by the hand and started walking. They walked through the hotel and as they were walking towards the elevator he noticed quite a few eyes on them. That wasn't out of the normal for him but he'd never been caught in this exact situation before. He was glad that it didn't seem like any of them were reporters and that none had cameras, he decided he and Midge had to talk about how they wanted this to get out because if they planned to continue walking around holding hands or showing the other affection it was going to get out and sooner rather than later.
Those thoughts were short-lived and not even fully realized because most of his thoughts were focused on Midge and what he wanted to do to her as soon as they made it upstairs. He was knocked out of his thoughts when he heard someone call Midge's name, he was about to stop her to let her know that someone was trying to get her attention when she heard her say "Ignore them, hurry, walk faster!"
Midge chided herself on her eagerness, she wasn't supposed to act like this but then again it'd be quite some time since she'd been in this situation, and she wanted him. Still, in the back of her mind, she heard herself making a checklist of what to do when she made it to the hotel room, one, go to the bathroom and freshen up, two, unbutton half of her bra to make it easier for him, three, make sure to set everything up in the bathroom so that when she went in there in the morning it'd be quicker and quieter to make herself up so that he didn't notice she was gone from the bed. She mentally shook her head, she was pretty sure that voice was her mother and she didn't want to live like that this time around. She was a different person now than she was the first time she was married and she knew Lenny much better than she ever knew Joel. She thought that was a startling realization considering she still had so much more to learn about him. Maybe a better explanation would be she knew Lenny on a deeper level than she ever knew Joel.
She was shocked out of her thoughts when the elevator doors closed because Lenny spun her around and started kissing her hungrily, pulling her body tight against his, so tightly that she felt against her stomach that he was already hard and ready for her. She moaned into his mouth when he used his teeth to bite her bottom lip and pull it into his mouth. And again, she was sure now it was the voice of her mother chiding her for sounding so wanton but she didn't care. If her dress wasn't so tight she'd jump up and wrap her legs around him. Take that Mama. With that last thought, she banished her mother from her thoughts for the rest of her night.
Lenny was sure he looked like a confused idiot when Midge randomly pulled away from him and turned to face the door. He stood there for a few seconds just staring at her, flabbergasted, not sure why she'd ever want to pull away from that but when the doors opened a moment later he understood. She was the type of lady who was raised to not make a scene, to always look her best in public. He was impressed that she could look so unruffled, like his hand wasn't just running up and down her body roughly, and like the other one wasn't thoroughly trying to mess up her hair, he was positive he looked like he just crawled out of bed and he was glad there wasn't anyone else in the room because he was sure his hard-on was visible through his pants. He was glad she seemed into the kiss because now that his head was a little more cleared and he could think again he realized he should have been worried that he was a little too rough, coming on too strong. This wasn't like some girl he never planned to see again, if he got what he wanted, this would be the first of many, so he needed to take the time to get to know what she liked, he didn't want to come on too strong and turn her off.
Because of this, he was glad that instead of getting right back to it when they walked into her room, she took a deep calming breath and spoke, "Would you like a drink?"
"Sure."
He sat on one bed, which he figured was her manager's and after she handed him his drink she sat on the other. They kept eye contact, even when they took sips, and didn't say anything for a few moments. Lenny was just soaking it in, he'd wanted this for a long time, and thought it'd never happen. In fact, he still wasn't sure he didn't get hit by a bus or something and these last few days were some type of fever dream he was having while he was in a coma or dead. Truthfully, he wasn't sure he'd mind all that much if that were the case, as long as he got to stay here. The side of his mouth lifted in a smirk at the thought and Midge looked away for the first time, Lenny was positive he could see her blushing.
Midge took a deep breath before looking back at Lenny, "Okay, if we're going to do this, I need you to look me in the eye first and promise me something."
"And what's that?" He asked lowly while leaning in.
"I need you to promise that you will never forget that I am very, very funny."
Lenny smirked a little but tried to look serious, the only reason he thought it was funny was because it was a little insane to him that she'd ever think he could forget something like that, something so integral to who she was. Then again, there'd been many times in their acquaintance that he'd thought she was insane before, it was one of the things that drew him to her. Which now that he thought about it, might say a lot about him. So he agreed, "First and foremost."
"I'm serious Lenny," She said making sure to get her point across.
He nodded once before putting his drink down on the end table, taking a deep breath, and standing up. He took the two steps separating the beds and held his hand out, offering it to her, after another moment she took it. He pulled her up and looked down at her, bending his neck in the way that Lenny always did, staring her in the eye, making sure she knew she had his full attention. Seriously, he replied, "I will be laughing through the entire thing, I promise."
She smiled at his response and when she saw that he was leaning down to kiss her she met him halfway. The kiss was softer this time, more sensual. Midge wrapped her arms around his neck and let herself get lost in the kiss as Lenny's hands went around to her back and started to unzip her dress. Midge lowered her shoulders and let go of him so that the straps fell down and her dress slipped right off and onto the ground.
Lenny slowly took steps forward pushing Midge back until her knees hit the bed and she laid back. He stood up and looked at her, he was sure he'd never seen a more magnificent sight and he had to take a moment to appreciate it. He reached down just enough to pluck at her corset, "What is this marvelous contraption?"
"It's my show corset."
"Your show corset? Does that mean there's more of these things lying around here?" Lenny asked cutting his eyes to the dressers and for a moment Midge was sure he was considering moving away from her to go find them right now.
"Mhmm."
"While my eyes could never get across the amount of appreciation they have for seeing such a perfect sight, I'm sure there's no way that's comfortable for you." He said and Midge felt her heart swell because he seemed genuinely worried for her.
"It's okay, I've been numb from here to here," she said pointing from her breasts to right under her belly button, "Since I was twelve."
"Oh, we'll just have to see about that, now won't we?" He asked taking it as a challenge to prove her wrong.
He crawled on top of her kissing her again as he took his jacket off and Midge started to loosen his tie. She felt that she was much less dressed than he was and she wanted to even the playing field. She knew she looked good, she measured herself every night but that didn't mean she still wasn't self-conscious sometimes. Especially a time like this, the first time the man she hoped to be with for the rest of her life was going to see her naked. Lenny didn't have a problem with this though and helped her by unbuttoning his shirt, although, he was too focused on kissing her, he was onto her neck now, that when the last two buttons gave him a problem and his hands fumbled he got frustrated and ripped the rest of it open.
Midge giggled when she heard a button hit the mirror on the other side of the room, "Someone's impatient."
He chuckled, now at the top of her breasts, pulling one strap of her corset down. "Of course I am, fuck Midge, if you wanted this as long as I have, you'd be impatient too."
She smiled but soon it turned into an O shape when he finally was able to wrap his mouth around her nipple. His hand started trailing down her body, when he made it down to her center he slipped one finger into her slit and moaned at how wet she was already. Just the slight friction of his finger caused her to gasp and push her chest out. It's been too long since she'd been with anyone, she was so sensitive right now, and the fact that it was Lenny who she was with caused her even more tension.
After he decided he gave each of her breasts the proper amount of attention he pulled away with a pop and started trailing his lips lower. Midge was sure there were going to be marks all over her chest tomorrow and she didn't care one bit, she might have reveled in it even. She realized what he was intending to do and was unsure about it, she'd only ever let two people pleasure her that way before, Joel and George Shrienburg back in high school, the boy she lost her virginity to. Neither of them seemed to enjoy the act and she'd never gotten much pleasure from it, let alone orgasmed.
"Lenny, stop." He did, immediately, and looked at her worriedly like he was scared he'd done something wrong. She smiled softly at him and the tension that just appeared in his shoulders loosened. "I mean, you don't have to."
He scoffed, "Have to? I want to, need to."
"You do?"
"Fuck yes, I do." He kissed her left hip bone then moved over to the right and this time bit it just hard enough for her to hiss in both pain and pleasure. He soothed the bite with his tongue licking closer and closer to where he wanted to be most. He stopped though and kissed again before pulling away, "So, Mrs. Bruce, may I continue?"
She nodded her head and with a wicked smile on his face, he spread her legs, putting one over his shoulder and the other, still in high heels he noted, bent so that the heel was pushing into the bed. He found the sight sexy as hell and knew he'd remember it until the day he died. He started slow, using his fingers to spread her open and then licking from the bottom of her slit to the top of her clit before pulling away again and smirking when she made a sound of discontent that he stopped. He leaned back in and circled his tongue around her clit once, twice, three times before wrapping his lips around it and sucking.
Midge through her head back and moaned, instinctively thrusting her hips forward and reaching for more friction. Lenny obliged by entering her with one finger then two, thrusting in time with his licking and sucking. Her moans were gaining in speed and getting louder as she was getting closer and closer to falling over the edge. Lenny moaned when he felt her tightening around his fingers, squeezing him and he couldn't wait until it was his cock that she was squeezing too tightly.
He started thrusting faster the louder she became and when Lenny sucked her clit into his mouth again it was the last thing she needed to cum, later she'd sware she saw stars. "Fuck Lenny, yes!"
Lenny slowed down as she was coming down prolonging her orgasm before stopping completely and starting his way back up her body. Truthfully, he wasn't sure when his pants came off but he was glad they did because he was sure he'd be in pain right now if he was still restrained. Before he climbed his way back onto the bed he looked around until he found his pants, dug in them, grabbed a condom, and climbed back on top of Midge, making sure to kiss and properly appreciate every part of her he could reach, when he made it back to her neck he felt her grab his head and pull it up to kiss him deeply while using her legs to push his boxers down. He groaned into her mouth when he felt her warm, deceptively dainty hand wrapped around him and start pumping. He pulled back from her lips so he could watch her, he experimentally thrust into her hand and moaned when she rotated and pumped in unison. He decided he had to stop this or he'd finish before they even got started, so he opened the condom, and he felt his cock twitch when she confidently took the condom from him and put it on him, making sure to take an extra long time and use more pressure than necessary, eliciting more moans from him.
He kissed her again while he nestled himself between her legs and lined himself with her. "I lied," He said, causing her to quirk an eyebrow with a smidge of worry in her eyes, "I'm only going to laugh at the end."
She rolled her eyes and pulled him down again for another kiss while he slowly entered her. Midge moaned into his mouth, loving how full he made her feel, every thrust bringing sensations long forgotten for her. Soon Midge started matching his thrusts, she brought her lips to his neck deciding that she'd been much too passive in this encounter and that Lenny had done all the work. She was sure she'd have hickeys all over her body come morning and she'd be damned if she was the only one.
It wasn't long until she felt another orgasm coming over her, she couldn't remember a time she came twice during sex, by the end of her and Joel's relationship she was lucky if he cared enough to give her one. Lenny's thrusts had a twist at the end that hit a spot deep inside her, if her mouth wasn't already preoccupied she'd be screaming. Still, even while kissing every part of his body she could reach, her moans were still echoing off of the walls.
When she came down from her second orgasm she surprised Lenny by rolling them over so that she was the one on top. She was able to turn them so seamlessly that she didn't mess up their pace at all, her hands on his chest lifting up and down, riding him, putting her kegel exercises to good use, squeezing him rhythmically.
His hands were caressing up and down her hips, his head thrown back in pleasure, pretty sure he wasn't going to be able to hold off much longer. "Christ Midge, just like that sweetheart, fuck."
His hands slid up to her breasts and she leaned down over him, swirling her hips and moaning when he hit that spot inside her again. He wrapped his arms around her back pulling her against him, feeling the sweat they'd worked up, kissing it off her shoulder. He started thrusting into her faster, harder, feeling her tighten around him again. He wanted her to cum with him but knew he wasn't going to make it, especially with her moans in his ear, hearing her moan Fuck Lenny, and Yes, just like that. In a last-ditch effort, he moved his thumb down her stomach down, down down to her clit, putting pressure on it, circling it as fast as he was thrusting into her, which was pretty fucking fast. With one last thrust, he came spasming into her moaning into her ear, closing his mouth, biting on her earlobe.
Midge's body lost all its tension, she'd have flopped on Lenny if they weren't already skin to skin when she came again. They lay there like that, neither knew how long, breathing heavily, wrapped around each other tightly. Slowly they each came back to themselves, their breathing slowed down, and their tight grasps turned into slow caresses.
Midge was so tired and satiated that she started to fall asleep right there, on top of him, still intimately connected, lights still on, but she was brought back to wakefulness when he started chuckling under her. She lifted herself just to put her arms on his chest and rest her head on them. She looked at him and quirked her eyebrow wondering what the hell he'd be laughing at right now.
Instead of answering her right away he leaned forward and kissed her, "Sorry, I was just thinking what a fucking idiot your first husband must have been. Oh, and I think we can both positively say your breasts are very sensitive and most definitely not numb."
She smiled and rolled her eyes before leaning her head back down, ready for sleep, not caring about the mess she'd have in the morning. She groaned unhappily when he tried to move her. "Nuh-uh" She mumbled refusing to move.
"Sorry, sweetheart, seems we got some cleanup to take care of."
He moved his hips a little bit and Midge's lip lifted in a scowl remembering the condom. She groaned again, this time with Lenny joining her when she lifted off of him. She laid back down and closed her eyes, wondering where he was going when she heard him get up. She had a moment of self-consciousness when she thought he might be planning on leaving her and going back to his hotel. She was surprised a moment later when she felt a warm washcloth on her legs and between them, she opened her eyes and smiled to see Lenny taking care of her, she'd never had a lover do anything like that after sex. It was always the sex then turning over and going to sleep. She felt herself falling a little more for him. She was even more happy that once he was done he turned off the light, climbed back into bed, wrapped her in his arms, kissed the back of her head, and whispered Night, sweetheart. She let out a sigh of contentment and snuggled in before falling asleep a few moments later.
*******Summery: Lenny realizes he'd never want Midge to see him under the influence and if they were to ever be a real family and live together, then he'd never be able to be under the influence. He knows it's not easy to kick the habit and it's not pretty so he decided to do it alone and plans to do it when he goes back to Miami and then move back to New York.
