Chapter 12: Under the Sea Pt 3: False Front
Mina is in her room and puts away her silk qipao dress into a suitcase as she sees Sonic sitting on the bed. "Wow, you did all that. You are awesome as usual," Sonic said as Mina smiled at his words of encouragement as she kissed him on the lips.
"Yep I am, it was good helping these people and now Undina is going to help Meropis connect with the outside world as an ambassador to the United Federation," Mina said.
"That's pretty cool, everything seems to be on track," Sonic said as Mina fixes up her travel outfit to straighten out the skirt and the bike shorts underneath.
"Sonic, Mina get to the bridge right now. We got ourselves here," Tails said on the speakers for them to swiftly rush into the command center to see the screens filled with hordes of Badniks heading for the domed city.
"Oh boy, what's going on? An invasion force?" Sonic asked.
"Yep, hundreds of thousands of Badniks of various sizes heading for the city. I got a bad feeling it's going to be a two-sided assault. The front and under. Knuckles, Amy, and Shade, you will go to the city and defend the city and generators with Echo. Nicole managed to track down the Chao Emerald which is in the supervolcano near the city. Mina and Sonic, you will go grab that since there is a massive robot heading for that location," Tails said.
"What about you and Nicole?" Sonic asked.
"We will be operating the Mantis Ray and giving support to the Meropis Navy in their battle against the Badniks outside," Tails said.
"Mina and Sonic, there is a mini-sub you can use to get to the supervolcano," Nicole said.
"Cool, we are on it," Sonic said as Tails handed them the emerald radar. The duo heads for the hanger to see one of the several mini-subs set up. Mina gets on the console to let it down gently into the hatch. "I will be piloting," Mina said as she got into the driver's seat with Sonic sitting in the back. She presses a button to close the glass cockpit.
"Into the deep, here we go," Sonic said as they slipped into the water to head for the supervolcano far away from the battle.
Knuckles, Shade, and Amy are within the city to be aided by Echo the Dolphin. "All of you here would give us the help we need," Echo said to wield her trident for the navy is engaging the enemies in a fierce battle outside with thousands of subs and assault ships fighting against them. The explosions outside rocked the dome city with the buildings shaking from the impacts outside.
"Well, the first thing is to protect the generator. It's down in the cavern below, follow me and we can secure that place," Echo said as Shade looked over at Amy.
"You okay?" Shade asked as she pointed to her missing ear.
"Yeah it's fine but it makes me look very lopsided. Tails is going to give me a new one to replace it soon," Amy said as she looked over to see her weapon. "A shotgun?" she asked.
"You like it. It's some old weapon the city found in some shipwreck and recovered to its normal condition. I buy it here along with some ammo," Shade said.
The four go to the caves to see a large drill slam through the floor with dirt and rocks burst upwards. "What the hell?" Knuckles said as the four prepared as Egg Pawns jumped out of the drill to fire their weapons at them.
Echo turns on her trident to fire bolts of energy at the Egg Pawns to take them out. Amy is using her hammer to bash and knock them away. Knuckles is smashing the Egg Pawns to pieces as he kicks it into the air. Amy leaps into the air and smashes the broken bot to send it flying into a group of Egg Pawns destroying them all.
Shade pulls out her new saw off coach gun to fire two EMP shells to disable two robots while slicing them in pieces with her leech blade. She pops open the shotgun to slip in explosive shells to blast away a group of Egg Pawns via blasting pellets.
Echo is cutting and slashing incoming Egg Pawns with her weapon as she shoves her trident into a Pawn to fire several laser shots turning it into a burned scrap pile.
They go into the caves to see more Pawns along with Egg Hammers and E2000s blocking their way. "More of these bruisers," Knuckles said as he dodged the swing of the huge hammer. He smashes his fists into it making it recoil backward as Amy bashes her hammer into the huge robot destroying its arms.
Shade and Echo fire their shots into its head taking the big bot down. The E2000 fires a beam of energy with Echo deflecting it away with her trident as she fires energy blasts with the robot swiftly dodging it to return fire.
Shade fires her twin-barrel shotgun to fire an EMP shell to stun it with Amy smashing it to pieces. Shade fires explosive buckshots to wipe out a few Egg Hammers with Knuckles shooting arcs of lightning from his hands to shock multiple targets stunning them in place.
Amy and Echo strike them all down with Shade finishing off the rest with a series of explosive shells. "This place is crawling with these robots," Amy said as they managed to reach the underground generator area to see several robots around it.
"Get away from there you stupid bots," Echo fires her trident to blast them off the generator.
"Thunder Arrows," Knuckles zaps them with arcs of lightning with Shade, Amy, and Echo using their weapons to finish them off.
"So, you have come to see death himself," Metal Sonic appears before them.
"Metal Sonic is here," Amy said as she was shaken by his presence due to him almost killing her last time.
"So, this is the infamous Metal Sonic I heard about," Echo said as she held onto her trident waiting for a fight to break out.
"I don't need nobodies nearby," Metal Sonic taunting Echo as Echo is upset by this.
"Nobody, I will show you who the nobody is," Echo launches herself about to put her trident into Metal Sonic. Metal easily dodges the attacks and kicks her in the stomach. Echo spits out blood as she gets sent flying across the room to slam into a wall leaving a huge dent behind.
Echo falls onto the floor as the impact breaks her back and left arm while her body is badly bleeding. "Echo," Amy said as Metal Sonic shook his finger back and forth in a mocking tone. "You are going to pay for that," Amy said as the Knuckles, Shade, and Amy brace for a big fight with Metal Sonic.
"Those are your last words, I put you all in a watery grave," Metal said as the battle began to defend the generator that powers the shields around the city.
Captain Striker is in the water wielding his trident as he is slashing incoming Badniks while giving orders to his subs and ships to open fire on the horde of robots and ships. Tails and Nicole are giving support to the Navy.
"Hold your ground here," Striker said.
"Captain, we got a problem. They are digging into the city via drills," a soldier said on the radio.
"Are you serious?" Striker questioned.
"Yes and they are going for the generator but thankfully Echo and the others are going to protect it," the soldier said.
"Thank goodness, this is getting too much," Striker said as he slashed an Egg Pawn with his trident. His forces are getting destroyed with several ships and subs are getting blown up.
Tails is within the command center with Nicole gaining battle data to transfer them to the other friendly ships to help boost their defenses. "Well, that is troublesome," Tails said spotting several huge assault ships pounding away at the Meropis City navy.
"Even for a distraction, this is overkill," Nicole said as she began to scan one of the Assault Ships. "I going to hack into its systems and see if I can exploit their guns against them," Nicole said.
"Nice thinking," Tails turns on the transmitter allowing Nicole to broadcast herself within an assault ship's systems. Nicole appears within cyberspace wielding her spear along with her shards. Firewalls and turrets were protecting the core.
"This is simple but not easy," Nicole is spreading her shards into the turrets while dodging incoming laser fire. She raises the ground to make a blocky wall to defend against the laser barrage. She flings more shards to destroy the turrets and shoves her spear into a nearby turret.
Nicole is swiftly moving to avoid incoming fire as she uses her shards to destroy nearby threats. She charges up her Shard Bloom to unleash a ton of shards to wipe out all the turrets to clear the way to the core.
She focuses her power to hack into the core to successfully turn the guns on the assault ship against the enemy forces. Nicole transfers back into the mainframe of the Mantis Ray. "Tails, I did it," Nicole said as Tails saw the enemy ships shooting at their own.
"Good work Nicole," Tails said as Striker looked confused by the enemy shooting their guys.
"Is this your doing Tails?" Striker asked.
"Nope, that is Nicole's handiwork," Tails said as they spotted even more ships, subs, and Badniks coming into the valley trying to swarm the city.
"Gee, they just keep coming," Striker said as the Mantis Ray launched EMP tornados and laser fire to cut down incoming enemy vessels but there was still more in the area.
"I am going to keep hacking ships to give us the edge," Nicole said as she transferred to another assault ship trying to hack into its core systems.
"Cool, hack as many of them as possible," Tails said as Nicole was jumping between ships to hack their weapon systems.
Within Tails' room, Cosmo's seedling is glowing inside Tails' room for it explodes with light filling up the room. The seedling disappeared with a lone naked female lying on the floor as the whole sub shakes from being attacked by the enemy.
Meanwhile Sonic and Mina are catching up with the Egg Leviathan as the massive mech begins tracking their movements. "Gee, that thing is massive," Mina said.
"Yeah but we can manage," Sonic said as the mech is firing lasers and missiles at them.
"Okay, we need to get close to the supervolcano and track the chaos emerald," Mina said as Sonic noticed other energy signals within the mech.
"Oh, those must be the Master Emerald shards Knuckles was sensing here," Sonic said as there were three shards within the mech powering it up.
Sally detects the mini-sub behind her as she begins to unload missiles and laser bolts. Mina guides the mini-sub to avoid the blasts from the projectiles. "She is going to blast us into the water," Mina said as she fired laser bolts to destroy several missiles.
"So, Sonic you got on my back once again and now you got your ditzy idol girlfriend here," Sally said on the radio.
"We are going to kick your ass and take that emerald right under your nose," Sonic said.
"I can ditto that," Mina said as she spotted an opening on the side of the supervolcano. "Let's get inside and rush for the emerald," she said as the huge metal lobster swung its large claws at the mini-sub. Mina is riding through the lumbering metal claws.,
"Let's do it, better to fight on land," Sonic said as Mina fired laser bolts into the armor but did not do enough damage to leave a mark.
"Gee, this thing is way too big," Mina said as Sally laughed at them.,
"You think that tiny sub would do any real damage against me? I will make you all pay for putting my friend Bunnie in jail," Sally said as the Egg Leviathan lobbed big EMP bombs with Mina driving towards the hole to avoid the electric blasts.
"Thank goodness, we avoided that," Mina parked in a large air pocket for them to exit out of the mini-sub. They plant their feet onto the dirt to see they are inside the supervolcano.
"Gee, this place is huge," Sonic said.
"Yep, this is a supervolcano. This is the same super volcano that destroyed human civilization over 12,000 years ago, then purging it into over a hundred years of nuclear winter and gave birth to this new world Mobius," Mina said as Sonic has Tails' Emerald radar to detect the energy of the gemstone.
"Gee, that's pretty dark," Sonic said.
"Well, Sonic, that is part of history. The fall of mankind and the beginning of the Mobians to share this planet of what remains of humanity," Mina said as they began to run using their super speed for they could already feel the heat coming off the rocks.
"Gee, this place is still active?" Sonic questioned to see pools of magma nearby.
"Yes, sadly it still is active but thankfully it will not go off any time in our lifetimes," Mina said as they leap over the lava pools to run on the side of the walls avoiding the lava.
"Mina, we need to go higher where the Chaos Emerald is located," Sonic said as they saw lava burst out of the ceiling to crawl down the wall.
"Oh crap," Mina said as they leap off the wall to wall run on the side of a pillar. They leap over a pool of lava as a plume of magma erupts heading for them.
"Double crap," Sonic said as Mina grabs onto his hand.
"Hover," Mina raises her arm cannon to emit green energy to make them float avoiding the lava plume.
"Sweet moves," Sonic said as he is happy to see Mina adapting pretty quickly using the Color powers of the Wisps.
"I learned from the best," Mina said as she gave him a wink for them to land on the ground. They boost ahead to see more lava around them as they are getting deeper within the supervolcano,
The speedy couple is dodging incoming lava plumes spiking out of the magma lakes. They break formations to jump and bounce off walls and rocky pillars to dodge the lava splashing everywhere.
"Man, this is intense," Sonic said as he used all his speed to avoid getting hit by bits of lava while the heat was overbearing to the duo.
"I know baby but we got to keep going and find that emerald," Mina said as a wall of magma shoots out of the floor to block their path.
"Triple crap, this isn't good," Sonic said as Mina aims her arm cannon at the firewall.
"Void," Mina fires a mini black hole to suck in all the lava within the tiny black orb to clear it completely and then disappear into nothingness. The duo managed to cross the area to see a dead end as Mina prepared for another color power. "Hold on Sonic, Drill," Mina transforms into a yellow drill with Sonic holding her tight to plow through the lava rocks.
They enter another area and Mina lands on the rocky floor with Sonic behind her. "Going through this place is going to be as hard as fighting that massive lobster," she said.
"Yep, it's one hell of a workout," Sonic said as Mina tapped her boots on the rocks.
"Yeah, my leg muscles are on fire," Mina said as they pushed deeper within the ancient supervolcano to see even more lava than before.
"You got to be kidding me," Sonic said as a huge stream of lava burst through a wall to head right for them. "Oh crap, Mina let's juice out of here," Sonic said as the duo unleash their full speed to avoid the chasing flow of magma.
The speedy couple is avoiding the lava all around them as the lava flow is getting bigger and faster. Walls begin to crack with more lava pouring into the area with the heat starting to make the duo lose focus and lose their speed.
"Oh no, this heat is getting too much," Mina said.
"Mina, time to Double Boost out of here," Sonic said as they combined their speed to blast through the area breaking the sound barrier as they were going over Mach 2. The lava is engulfing the entire chamber as they break through several weak rock walls opening a path to a cooler area of the supervolcano with the lava still following them.
They see a rock shaped like a ramp as they rocket off into the air with lava going down a hole below into a huge pool of magma. They slingshot themselves onto the other side as they land on the ground.
"Oh man, that was intense," Mina said trying to catch her breath as Sonic was doing the same thing.
"Yeah, when we work together. We are unbeatable," Sonic said.
"Damn straight baby, okay. Let's keep going," Mina said as they went into a large chamber to see the Chaos Emerald was right inside there.
"Oh no, you don't," Sally busted through a wall for the massive mech to appear. "Time to give some payback from before," Sally said on the speakers for the Egg Leviathan is about to fight Sonic and Mina over the chaos Emerald within the depths of the supervolcano.
Elsewhere Team Hooligan managed to go into the prison complex to kill off the guards with the city under siege. Fang fires his pistol to blow off the head of a guard with red blood smeared onto the wall. Bunnie and Ether hear this within their cells for Bark uses his raw strength to rip the cell doors open. "Okay ladies, time to get out of here," Fang said as Bean went over to check up on Bunnie.
"Bunnie, are you okay?" he asked to see her missing robotic arm and her having a black eye.
"I'm okay duckie, just shaken up," Bunnie said to kiss him on the beak. "Thanks for the concern sugar bill," she said as Fang noticed Bean glowing in the face.
"No problem, come on. Before more guards show up," Bean said as Ether used her telekinesis to stop several guards in their tracks. She unleashes a psychic surge to make them all explode turning them into a red paste on the walls and floors.
"Okay you lovebirds stay focused," Fang said as he was wielding his pistol to get clean headshots to see the dead guards limp onto the ground with burning holes in their foreheads.
"How did you all get in here within this mess?" Bunnie asked.
"We used a drill pod like the rest of the troops that got in here to ambush their defenses," Bean said.
"Pretty clever, this wizard is quite more formidable than I give him credit for," Ether said as they all blasted their way through the guards in all the confusion.
Back with Knuckles, Amy and Shade are fighting off Metal Sonic with Shade using her EMP shells trying to disable Metal Sonic with Amy and Knuckles doing the heavy lifting on close-range combat. Shade fires an EMP shell to stun Metal with Knuckle knocking him into a wall. Amy performs a spinning hammer attack which bashes him multiple times.
She knocks him into the air with Knuckles following up with a downward punch to knock him back onto the ground. Metal regains his footing in midair to use his jets to stop himself from crashing onto the ground.
Shade fires her shells but Metal dodges her attacks as he fires a sonic blast to knock Shade into a wall knocking her shotgun out of her hand. Metal is using his copycat ability to adapt to the EMP shells Shade has used to adjust his body to harden against EMP attacks.
Amy swings her hammer with Metal knocking the weapon away and punching Amy in the head launching her into a building's window.
"Amy," Shade fires explosive buckshot with a series of pellets to explode knocking Metal around with Knuckles following up with a combo of powerful punches and kicks. Metal catches Knuckles' fist to headbutt him onto the ground and raises his claws about to sever his spine. Amy rushes out to tackle Metal and bash him with her hammer.
"Don't count me out yet," Amy said as Metal Sonic swiftly clashed with Amy to use his strength to overpower her and kick her onto the floor.
"I did count you out for a reason," Metal aims his minigun arm to pepper Amy with explosive energy bolts. Amy gets overwhelmed and gets sent flying onto the ground as Metal twists around to fire at Knuckles.
He rolls behind a thick stone wall as it's getting weaker with each shot clipping it away. Knuckles kicks the wall to launch into Metal Sonic to knock it backward. "Thunder Arrows," Knuckles bolts of lightning bolts to stun Metal Sonic further.
Shade fires armor-piercing slugs to put two into his chests leaving two holes. Knuckles punches Metal hard enough to make him bounce off the ground with Knuckles grabbing his legs.
"Time to go for a spin," Knuckles is bashing Metal Sonic onto the ground like a makeshift hammer to leave a deeper crater with each strike. He kicks him up into the air to punch him towards Amy.
Then Amy and Knuckles were hitting Metal Sonic to bounce between them like a pinball game.
"Time to end this," Knuckles said to begin charging up his energy for his body glows red.
"Amy, he is all yours," Amy said as she knocks him back to him.
"I don't need Sonic to beat you, Maximum Heat Attack," Knuckles moves beyond light speed to blitz Metal Sonic to completely overwhelm him unable to fight back from this near-endless assault of powerful fast blows. Knuckles puts all his energy into one fist and slams into Metal's chest which makes a massive shockwave on impact.
Metal crashes into a wall to be severely damaged from Knuckles; last blow. Sparks were flying from his damaged shell. "That is what you get for taking out my ear," Amy said as Shade checked on Echo to see if she needed medical attention.
"Doesn't matter, the massive army Badniks will overwhelm this city anyway," Metal teleports out of there.
"Well, we need to head back up and prevent more drill pods within the city," Knuckles said as Shade was helping Echo up the path.
"You all were very strong. Thanks for protecting the generator," Echo said.
"It's nothing, we need you to place somewhere to rest," Shade said as they went back up to the city to defend it from more attacks.
Back with Tails and Nicole, they see more enemies allowing several Death Egg Robots to use their eye lasers to cut down more allied ships. "This is insane, they deployed Death Egg Robots," Tails said as the massive robots were ripping the Meropis ships to pieces. Now the Death Egg Robots are targeting the shield dome trying to weaken it.
"Tails, even with the generator. Those robots are draining away the power and at this rate, the shield will overload from too much strain and the city will be exposed," Striker said as he wielded his weapon to cut down Egg Pawns to see the huge Death Egg Robots to be frightened by their sheer mass and power.
Tails feel nervous as Nicole is trying her best but she can't hack all of them at once. "Tails, I am starting to get worn out. I can't keep up," Nicole said as she was in cyberspace of a Death Egg Robot but the defenses were too strong. She abandoned it to return to the Mantis Ray. "I am sorry," Nicole feeling ashamed of her weakness.
"Don't worry Nicole, you are trying your best," Tails comforts her but he is very worried about the shield breaking. "Damn it, we need a miracle at this point. We can't fight them off like this," Tails said as he felt a presence within his mind.
"You are not alone Tails, don't give up. You didn't give up on me," a familiar female voice said within his mind as this shook him to his very core. Tails is on his knees as Nicole is worried about him.
"Tails, what's wrong?" Nicole goes over to help him up as they both see something outside. A small orb is on the ocean floor. Striker and the other Meropis City Navy were confused by this.
"Some new gadget Tails?" Striker asked on the radio.
"No, I don't know," Tails said as a young woman was in this light orb to begin making the kelp on the seabed grow to monstrous levels.
"You will not hurt my friends anymore including Tails," the woman said as she unleashed the sea plants to grab onto all the Badniks including the Death Egg Robots to begin crushing them with ease. The woman is using her newfound powers to save her friends along with Tails.
"No, this is impossible but she is here. Finally, to save us again," Tails said as he began to show tears for his best friend/crush appearing like a heroine in a storybook to save them and the city. The young woman keeps growing the kelp until they ensnare the Badnik forces in a thick forest of kelp growing as tall as mountains crushing everything in their path.
"We won, we won," Striker said with joy as the militia was cheering for their new ally. The woman looks below her to see everyone is happy she destroyed the massive army of Badniks with her new powers.
The ball of light returns to the Mantis Ray with Tails and Nicole going to the hangar to see this young woman in person.
"This is like a dream I keep having over and over again but this time it's real. Cosmo, you came back to us," Tails said as Cosmo came out of the light to be within her mature form like she was before she died against the Metarex a few years back. She was nude with only her beautiful silky smooth skin and gentle blue eyes staring back at him.
"Tails," Cosmo looks very happy but she begins to fall onto the floor. Tails rush over to catch her to lay her on the floor.
"It's been too long Cosmo," Tails said still crying with Cosmo wiping away his tears.
"I am sorry for keeping you waiting," Cosmo said as she embraced his hug loving his presence.
"It's okay, you are here now. That's what counts and I am not letting you go again, I love you," Tails said.
"I love you too, Tails," Cosmo embraces him as Nicole looks over in disbelief but is deeply happy that Tails got his love back.
Back with Sonic and Mina fighting off the Egg Leviathan, Sally gets a call from Bunnie on the radio. "Sally Girl, thanks for the team that busted me out," Bunnie said.
"No problem, what are friends for right," Sally said as Bunnie felt happy that Sally cared about her.
"Thanks, but we have problems. The Invasion force and Metal Sonic had failed," Bunnie said as Sally was bothered by this.
"Well, at least they served their purpose by being good distractions. Get back to the Egg Carrier MK2, I need to collect a Chaos Emerald," Sally said.
"Okay, see you soon," Bunnie said as Sally was piloting the massive mech with Sonic and Mina splitting up thinking about their plan.
"Sonic, go get the emerald while I go grab the Maser Emerald shards inside the mech," Mina said as her arm cannon sporting a yellow drill.
"Alright," Sonic said as the Mina drew Sally's attention with her dodging incoming energy blasts and massive claws using her fast speed alone.
"What is she doing?" Sally wondered as Mina bounced off the walls to avoid her attacks with Sally swinging the claw in front of her. "No way to run, blue slut," Sally said as Mina activates a Color power.
"Drill + Laser," Mina transforms into a drill to launch at the claw with the lightning-speed Laser power-up. She slams into the claw to tear through the thick claw destroying it partially making it unusable.
"Damn it," Sally said as Mina was still in the drill from skirting on the side of the rocky wall. She launches at the location where Sonic pinpointed the Master Emerald shards. She pierces the armor of the mech to be within the generator room to see three shards of the Master Emerald there.
She grabs the pieces to put them in her backpack to exit out of there. Sally notices the mech is getting much more sluggish as the power has deeply declined. "Oh no, don't fail me now," Sally said as she tried to make it work again.
"Sonic, I got the shards," Mina said to run along the walls to head for where Sonic was heading.
"That's my girl," Sonic said as he followed the energy from the Emerald Radar.
"Oh no, you don't," Sally fires a barrage of missiles to destroy sections of walls but manages to miss Mina. The holes Mina made are pouring lava into the area with Mina aiming her arm cannon at the failing mech.
"Drill +Bomb," Mina fires bomb-infused drills into the side of the mech as they dig through the thick armor to then explode weakening it further. "Sonic, I am coming for you," Mina said as she jumped off the pillars to avoid the huge claw smashing the rock structures into pieces.
She lands onto a pillar as Sally smashes it making Mina fall towards a pool of lava. "Hover," Mina makes herself float onto the platform. Sally swings her claw again but Mina fires another Hover to make the claw float in mid-air stopping it from crushing her.
She fires another Drill/Bomb combo attack onto the working claw's limb to see it explode. Doing enough damage to sever it from the main body.
"This heap of junk," Sally said as Mina was slowly ripping this walking mass of scrap apart.
"Okay," Mina said as she was getting close to Sonic.
"Oh, I found it," Sonic stops on top of a hill to see a green Chaos Emerald. "Nice," Mina is beside him as she is she is happy they got all their objectives finished.
"Good baby, let's beat this huge tin can," Mina said as the massive lobster was still going after them despite losing too much power and the hull being heavily damaged.
"I will not let you escape here alive," Sally said as Sonic grabbed onto Mina for them to do a combo move on the Egg Leviathan.
"Light Speed Attack/ Laser," both go at light speed to be engulfed in energy to combine their strikes to slice right through the mech down the middle. The loving duo appears behind it as the metal beast explodes into a large blast.
Sally escapes out of the Egg Pod to make her escape. "I will not forget this," Sally said as she ran away.
"For all that huge mass, it was a piece of junk like everything else Eggman had made in the past. You okay Mina?" Sonic asked as she gave him a big hug.
"That was amazing and insane, we were a match made in heaven Big Blue," Mina said to giggle at this.
"Yep, we sure do. Come on, hold my hand," Sonic said as he tapped into the power of the emerald. "Chaos Control," Sonic teleports them both back to the mini-sub which is thankfully intact. They hop inside with Mina piloting their way out of there.
"Guys, we got the Master Emerald Shards and the Chaos Emerald along with destroying that mech," Mina said as Nicole took the call to be weeping. "Oh Nicole, why are you crying?" Mina asked.'
"Cosmo is alive," Nicole said as both of them were shocked beyond belief.
"Cosmo finally came back," Sonic feels overjoyed that saving her seed wasn't in vain.
"Yeah, I bet Tails is super happy about this," Mina said feeling happy for him and missing the little cutie Cosmo.
"He is, she managed to aid in the defeat of the large invasion forces at the city. She was a big help and she was amazing," Nicole said glowing with praise.
"Well, this day is filled with surprises," Sonic said as they headed back to the sub.
During the day, everyone is in the lounge room to see a broadcast of Kin Puff with the human president of the United Federation in the main chamber of the palace. "Everyone across the world, we of the kingdom of Meropis has agreed that we will become allies with the human-led United Federation," the king said.
"Yes, we all want a peaceful world, and working toward is important. Despite our difference between Mobians and Humans throughout the years, we are more united than ever to stop these threats to our wonderful planet," the president said.
"Of course, my daughter Undina will be our ambassador to our fair city to the United Federation. She will make us proud. To our new future to secure the peace of this world," King Puff said.
"I am deeply honored for this position and you, Mr. President to come to our beautiful city under the ocean. I hope we can begin a beautiful friendship," Undina said as she shook the president's hand.
"Hey, look at Shadow in the background," Sonic said as Team Dark and GUN Task Force X were there protecting the president and his aides.
"Yep, just doing their jobs there," Amy said as she sat beside Cosmo to hug her. "It's good to have you back Cosmo, we miss you so much," Amy said as Cosmo returned it.
"Thanks, Amy. Sorry for worrying you all. There are some new faces here," Cosmo said as she spotted Nicole and Shade who were not there when she was last alive.
"Well; this is Nicole, my digital assistant, and Shade is a long story," Tails said.
"Please to meet you, Tails told me so much about you," Nicole said shaking her hand.
"I am happy, he kept my memory alive. I wish we could be good friends, Nicole," she said.
"Of course," Nicole said as Cosmo looked over at Shade.
"I want to be friends as well Shade," Cosmo said as Shade nodded her head.
"You seem nice, I would like that," Shade said.
"Cosmo, what do you want to do?" Tails asked as Cosmo got back onto her feet to surprise everyone that her mature form was much taller than everyone in that form putting her at 3'9 tall feet.
She is in a simple white robe that fits her newer womanly body with Tails clearing noticing this as Cosmo giggles at this.
"Well, I want to join your Team Fighters as a full member," Cosmo said.
"Oh, you want to become part of my team?" Sonic asked.
"Yes, I have been watching on the sidelines before but now with my new powers and body. I can help you guys out," Cosmo said.
"You sure Cosmo?" Tails asked as Cosmo noticed the worry in his eyes.
"Tails, I would rather die by your side than live alone on the sidelines. It's my time to pay the favor and aid you all in defeating a great evil once again," Cosmo said.
"It will be like old times," Mina said.
"Yeah, welcome to the team Cosmo," Sonic said.
"I second that, " Mina said.
"Me too," Nicole said.
"Nice to have you again Cosmo," Tails said as Cosmo gave him the prettiest smile he had ever seen.
"Glad to be back," Cosmo said.
"Well, I can't be part of your team anymore Sonic," Amy said.
"Why Amy?" Sonic asked.
"Well after all this happened. I was thinking I need to get Team Rose back together," Amy said.
"Well, the more the merrier. More friends under our belt to back us up is only a good thing," Sonic said.
"Thanks. Okay, folks, time to give the lovebirds their space," Amy teases as this makes the young couple blush from this.
"Take it easy Cosmo, you earn it," Sonic said as everyone gave them space. Sonic, Mina, and Amy talk about Amy setting up her old team again. "So, who did you have in mind this time," Sonic asked.
"There is Cream, she is around Tails' age. She is ready for a real fight and I got some good choices. Gemerl our robot muscle and my new friend Sticks the Badger who is good with a bow. I want you both to come with us and get us up to date with being a good fighting team," Amy said.
"That would be interesting, having another team would be handy against these bad guys who are becoming more ambitious," Mina said as they began to go back to the surface.
Tails place the Chaos Emerald inside a case to block the energy from being sensed by anyone. "Tails thanks for believing in me even if I was still a seed," she said.
"No problem, it was all worth it in the end. Those Chaos Drives did the trick," Tails said as Cosmos could feel Chaos energy flowing through her body allowing her to keep her mature form.
"Tails, I always wanted to do this but I didn't dare to do it before," Cosmo said as she got closer to him.
"What it is Cosmo?" he asked but he felt the wet softness of her lips onto his own. This made his heart stop for a bit as she backed away with a smile along with a blush on her face.
"Thank you for everything, my love," Cosmo said as she took his hand wanting him to show her around his submarine.
They gain an old ally, Cosmo as part of Team Fighters along with a Chaos Emerald while Team Rose is being reborn in the fight against Ixis Naugus and the forces of darkness.
