Chapter 74: Girls' Outing
After the mission to the human city, Mina is in her room with Sonic fast asleep while talking with Mindy Latour via her smartphone. "Yo Mindy, what's up?" "Like being roboticized, I've seen some people become robots. It's not pleasant to watch," Mindy said as she had images of her old friends enslaved by Miles via roboticization.
"No this is different. It's similar to something I fought before in my world, I hope it isn't here," Mnia said as her mind was on the Metal Virus.
"Hey Mina, I want us to go outside around Echidnapolis and check out the sites," Mindy said.
"That is a good idea, I want to explore the city more. It's quite big," Mina said.
"Indeed, well I will meet you at your home and we go off from that," Mindy said as she slipped into her nightgown preparing to go to bed.
"Cool, I will see you later," Mina said as she turned off the phone to get into bed to begin going to sleep to hug her husband.
Elsewhere Nicole is in her room to begin researching the broken code Honey has found in the ancient ruins which are pretty corrupted as she is slowly restoring what can be grabbed.
"That Thunderbird was trapped there for a long time now. It activated when those two showed up," Nicole noticed Sonic and Mina fighting in the ruins. "They are a subject of interest due to them being from another dimension," she said as she looked over the data of the cybernetic Thunderbird's body.
"Looks like it's more advanced than the Robotization used by Miles. This needs to be looked up and find the source of this method," Nicole said as she worked on her project with her being called by Miles.

"Did your parents support you?" she asked.

"That is awful. I am lucky my mother isn't like that. She gives me warm support to go for my dreams," Mina said.

"This is good," Mina said placing it onto her hat to adjust it to fit on her head.
"Cool there Mina, how about this one?" Mindy asked to try on a blue hat that matched her flaming red hair and tail.
"Beautiful speaking of which, your hair is so cool," Mina commented as Mindy felt happy she enjoyed it.
"Thanks, I got it styled just right," Mindy said as she whipped her head to let her hair twist against the air like a flame dancing against the breeze.

"Hello, you two. Welcome to the Library of Echidnapolis. Do you need something?" the female voice asked out of the drone.
"Yes, we want to search for music traditions of the echidnas," Mina said as the drone looked through her records to find the information they wanted.
"You will find the section on Echidna's musical traditions in this section. Further information can be found on the research terminals," the female drone said as Mina bowed her head in thanks.
"That is useful. Let's get going," Mina said as they went to the music section which has all the music storage there in various forms. They set their shopping bags onto chairs to check out the data on the music on display for them to see videos of Echidna tribal dances and hymns. Both women find this very interesting to watch.
"Wow, those are some interesting dance numbers," Mindy said.
"Yes, it's very soothing to watch. It reminds me of the dance displays that were shown during the Guardian Festival," Mina said as Mindy looked upon an orange-furred echidna woman singing her hymns with calm and focus.
"Who is this?" Mindy asked as Mina knows this woman as Tikal wearing her usual attire and singing her trademark hymn.
"Tikal one of the guardians of Demon Island," Mina said.
"You know right?" she asked.
"I learned about her during my stay here in the city. She is a brave soul who protected the echidnas from Chaos thousands of years ago," Mina explained.
"Gee, she is a capable woman," Mindy said.
"Indeed, she was, binding the beast's power within her soul and trapping herself in a weird dark gem that is lost to time," Mina said.
"Her voice is so filled with softness yet firm determination," Mindy is focusing on Tikal's singing who is entertaining a crowd of echidnas on a stage who are enjoying her performance.
"Sadly, she is not here with her people but she did the ultimate act of heroism to make sure they live on," Mina said.
"Yeah pretty rough. I want to be like that being able to use my song to raise this world's spirits just a bit to leave my mark on it," Mindy said.
"You will have your chance soon enough," Mina said as she noticed something quite odd. "Enerjak," Mina said as she was confused by the term.
"What's wrong Mina?" Mindy asked.
"I am looking over a term called Enerjak in one of the hymns," Mina requests a drone to give her assistance. "Can you explain what Enerjak is?" she asked the machine.
"Oh, that is a term relating to a powerful echidna spirit which was an Echidna researcher thousands of years ago who went mad when using way too much Chaos energy. This caused a mutation that allowed him to wield god-like powers but the power destroyed his body making him a lingering spirit anchored to the living world trying to possess other Echidnas to drive them to madness as well," the drone said as Mina is deeply interested in this.
"Sounds so scary," Mindy said.
"It does. Someone can be that powerful," Mina wondered.
"Speaking of which, our Leader Knuckles has a unique mutation since he was a baby from being exposed to too much Chaos energy from his father. This gives him access to a new transformation which is similar in power to Enerjak but he wouldn't use it," the drone said.
'Why not, sounds like it would come in handy," Mina said.
"Our leader is a peaceful man who doesn't believe in fighting unless it's the most extreme conditions like self-defense. He has sworn to never use this power so he will not become another Enerjak," the drone said.
"Thanks for the information," Mina said as the drone went away. Mindy's stomach is growling with the fox glowing in the face.
"Oh my, I am quite hungry," Mindy said.
"Me too, there is a nice pizza place called Slices we can go to get some good food there," Mina said as they finished up their time in the library to head for the pizza shop to grab some food.
"Do they have pepperoni?" Mindy asked.
'Oh yeah, they have their ultimate pepperoni pie which is so delicious," Mina said for they go to a little humble pizza shop that has customers coming in with slices of wonderful pizza on their plates sitting outside with tables beside the restaurant.
They enter the shop to see the display of different pizzas with all sorts of toppings. "Amazing," Mindy said as Mina reached the counter to see an older echidna male manning the front.
"Hello there Mina, I see you brought over a friend. What is your choice today?" he asked.
"Give me the usual, Ultimate Pepperoni Pizza. Medium-sized and citrus punch as well," Mina said.
"Coming right up, grab a seat and one of my waiters will deliver the pizza and drinks to you," the shop owner said as the two women sat inside with other Echidnas eating their pizzas.
"I have not eaten anything good in a while now," Mindy said.
"Truth me, you are going to get a filling experience," Mina said as the waiter placed a steaming hot pizza and drinks on the table.
"Here you go ladies," the waiter said as he noticed Mindy. "Oh goodness, you are Mindy Latour," the young echidna male.
"The one and only, fan right?" Mindy asked as the waiter nodded his head trying to contain his excitement.
"Can I have your autograph?" he asked as Mindy gave him a friendly smile.
"Sure, I am happy to oblige," she said as she grabbed a pen out of her purse. "Where do you want me to write on?" she asked as the waiter took out a photo of Mindy at one of her concerts.
"This please," the waiter gives her his cap as she writes her name on the front of it.
"Here you go," Mindy said.
"Thanks this is great," the waiter said as the shopkeeper looked over to see him fawning over Mindy.
"Hey kid, get back to work. We got other customers who need service," the shopkeeper said.
"Sorry, sir. I love your music, I hope you enjoy the pizza," the waiter goes outside to serve the others.
"I am sorry madam," the shopkeeper said.
"No problem sir, I enjoy talking with my fans," Mindy said as she looked over the pizza is carried completely with cheese and lots of pepperonis.
"Thank goodness I can just burn it off by running," Mina said as Mindy was jealous of that.
"Lucky bitch," Mindy said in a lighthearted tone as she grabs a slice to dig into it. "Oh crap, this is so good. It's lighting up my tastebuds," Mindy said.
"It's crazy good and it fetches a good price," Mina said as she took into her slice.
"Thanks for hanging out with me Mina," Mindy said.
"No problem Mindy, always able to help out a friend," Mina said as Mindy felt grateful for this.
"Thanks, let's finish this up and get a move on," Mindy said as the two enjoyed their time eating together as new friends.
Elsewhere Mecha Sally is leading the Swat Bot's army to raid a village loyal to Smalls. She uses twin arm blades to slice up guards and innocents alike without remorse. He unleashes a blast of flames from her arm to set people on fire until they collapse onto the grass burning to death.
"Kill them all, for the glory of Miles and his empire," Alicia ordered as an Assault Walker was touching a house down with its flamethrowers. Sally slices a guard in half with the whole village burns to the ground. She is detecting a source of Chaos energy nearby.
Mecha Sally is going into a ruined building to see a weird black emerald. "Miles I found a black emerald. I think you will be interested in this," Mecha Sally sends back images of the gemstone for Miles has a big smile on his face.
"Oh my, the Ancient Onyx has been founded. Smalls has found a precious asset holding the powerful being of Tikal holding onto Chaos' power. I will crack it open and wield Tikal as a weapon against my enemies. Bring it back at once," Miles said as Alicia took the gemstone to fly back to the HQ for Miles has another weapon in his arsenal.
