RETRIBUTION

Lucy had, about half a year ago, come up with a plot. It had been cruel, but that happened when dealing with Charle Brown. Things'd went well, except that the wrong person was approached.

When she revealed her schemes to him, Edward Black had kept around her as she continued to bully and be demeaning. He'd appeared to only be in the background, offering two cents here and there.

But on the day the plot was to be executed, Black had revealed his true colours. The plot backfired and the clique involved was dismantled by bully hunters, for Black was the most powerful of thier number.

"You" Lucy scowled, remembering, "it was you who went to Linus. He trained under your guidance, you enabled him to become what he was tonight".

"Get too good of a look" Black sneered. They stood right in the middle of his house's main room.

"I saw something alright, that you're…

"Go on"

"…you're a bane on the Van Pelt family" Lucy explained, "My brother is personal"

"Personal" Black raised an eyebrow, "no, this is business"

He now was behind the psychiatrist booth, sitting down and moving a sign, reading "THE DOCTOR IS IN"

Lucy had remained standing, "You deceiver, you arrogant…"

"Am I. I wasn't implying any insults" he noted "I meant to begin your appointment".

"Now?. You seriously expect me to just have an appointment"

"Or whine in your corner" Black sneered as he moved his head, "given you're so lousy"

Lucy surged forward on the other end of the booth. "Lousy" she jibed, "your active hatred of my behaviour, that's what's lousy"

He smirked as he sat there, "You did not listen, when I told you not to show weakness. When it comes to power, if you make one mistake, one error…".

Placing a hand beneath the wood, he moved a small folder up to the top.

"…such as allowing me all this evidence".

Black pushed it over to her.

"What…this is…", Lucy saw the handwriting on the cover gleam, "This is Linus's"

"See it for yourself" he gestured, "what does he have to say?"

She was reading the folder, searching through the pitcures and texts, of her brother and his friends(often the Browns) and anything like that.

"Is that not enlightening to see those. I see one from a camp, and Charlie Brown and Linus are in this one here. So…"

"Where am I then?" Lucy said, stating the thing that was growing on her mind.

"You're not in these happy pictures of his. A mistake?, or perhaps because any ones that you are in" Black feigned "aren't happy"

Lucy paled slightly. Black removed a text from the back end of the folder, reading over it slowly, "Charlie Brown and I understand each other, and I've come to see him as the older brother I never had. Heh"

Lucy struggled to address what Linus'd written, the sinking feeling growing more and more.

"If he wants to believe that, that's fine with me"

"Oh, is it fine that you, highly as you think of yourself, were disregarded for the "blockhead" Black grinned.

Lucy cursed Charlie Brown under her breath.

"I suppose, why would he try stick with you, the jerk who undermined and disgusted at whatever was a part of him" he responded "It is, as you often said…for his own good"

But she was unresponsive, and just kept reading to the end of the folder. And there she stopped, paling even further.

"You're mistaken" Lucy looked softly at the last page of the folder, the page where she did appear. There were photos of her and her brother, many from when they were younger. One or two with Rerun as well. There was no anomosity seen, or even related to these scenes. Could it've been harmony, joy.

"Mistaken" he received the folder from her, studying it closely, "Oh, how curious"

"And how do you think you'll explain this. There was…is…something good between Linus and I" Lucy snapped, "Don't you get it?"

He wasn't even acknowledging her, just standing with an amused smile.

And now, Lucy's presumption began disappearing, "He cared for me…he cares for me"

"And how did you make that work out for him…"

Lucy couldn't respond. Something changed from this moment, she felt…appalled"

"…I take precision with insults. So when I double crossed you, Blockhead did not suit. No, you were a traitor to you peers, and a traitor to your family"

"I'm not against any of them" Lucy wailed, "I don't hate Linus"

"Look at what you've done" Black ordered, "Was that the best you could do, to not hate him"

In that moment, a wave of shame washed over Lucy, as she understood now who had been her real best friend. During all of her behaviour and aggression, with the damage that came with it, her brother had kept a hope for her, that she could improve. She'd let him down.

There was nothing except sorrow, and also the chilling silence taking place before them. Lucy looked up, and clung to one small hope of hers.

"Give me a chance" she cried, "The restraining…Just one last chance"

"So that's what this is about. The restraining order"

"Yes, yes, now you…"

But her talking came to a halt, because Black had a knowing look again.

"I did not only just get home. As you spoke to Janice…I was right next door"

And if so, Lucy knew it only could've meant one thing. Her attempt failed on the crucial opportunity. He had already enforced the order between her and Linus.

"…you are out of chances" Black muttered.

"No" she flung her fist on the wood. Her and her little brother were divided. She wasn't to keep him after all, "No"

"It's over"

Lucy's mouth tensed and trembled with a pained expression, hurt from her destroyed relationship.

"And get a grip, he meant nothing to you. No one di…"

She was in no mood for that. Lucy jolted her hand, scarcely slapping him on the face. Feeling the impact, pain throbbed on her hand, but she didn't care.

The bully hunters smile was gone, "And it seems our appointment is over"

And he stood up, giving every indication he was a threat. Lucy flung two fists at him, he simply blocked, and then brushed them aside.

"…I think you'll end up paying more than 5 cents"

"I'm tough enough" Lucy said, but Black flung the psychiatry booth to the side. He was directly trained to be stronger. She knew that, and took another approach, "Linus…he…didn't let you".

"Linus is not here this time" he growled, "that damage is done. Now, you only have your strength to rebuild yourself"

But no hint of that mercy was dealt.

"…then again, what's the point…you will turn around" he sneered, "and run"

And Lucy found herself now running to get out, to flee from the house.

"Thats it. Run" he gave one last laugh, "Run, Run".

His cold laughter followed her until the outside storm she ran through, had drowned it out.

A/N: Well, that all happened. Next upload will hopefully come soon. And thanks again for reading.
