Chapter 13-Finishing up

Daniel's P.O.V

Daniel sat in Aaron's house with Jesus, Aaron, Ezekiel, and Carol, who had arrived earlier that morning. "Today, we do the setup for the warehouse," Jesus says. "Rick is going to Hilltop today. He will tell Maggie we need her tomorrow,"

"We have brought people, R.V's, and pallets," Carol says.

"Yesterday, we started on the warehouse. We should finish it today," Aaron says. They nod as they stand up. "Strand and Cole are waiting for us,"

"What about Alden and Luciana?" Jesus asks.

"They are trying to track hideouts for the true saviors," Ezekiel says. They nod as they stand up and go outside. They walk up to the vehicles. Strand and Cole get in a truck with Eugene. Aaron, Jesus, and Daniel get in an R.V. and leave, driving towards the warehouse.

Troy's P.O.V

Troy walked outside and over to Jed, who was smoking a cigarette. "Do you want one?" Jed asks.

"No, thanks," Troy says.

"Did you hear what happened to Hilltop?" Jed asks him.

"Yeah, two people died," Troy says. "Have you heard anything?"

"This group of saviors have the right idea," Jed says. "They hide in the shadows and wait for the right time to strike,"

"Do you agree with what they are doing?" Troy asks him. Jed looks at him.

"Being a rat doesn't suit you well, Troy," Jed says to him.

"What are you talking about?" Troy asks him.

"They left you here to get info on these people," Jed says. "What those Indians did to you is no different than what Rick is doing to us. They kicked you out of your home and took your weapons. Sure, we have a home, but we have no weapons, and we have no voice. We speak out. They'll just kill us. We aren't so different you and I,"

"The saviors did the same thing. They took from people and killed them as they pleased," Troy says.

"Fair point," Jed says. "We just want our freedom when we get what we want. We will be gone,"

"What do you want?" Troy asks.

"What do you want, Troy?" Jed asks. "Those people you are with will never truly trust you, and you know that. Time to think about yourself, Troy," Jed walks away, leaving Troy to look at the fence.

Rick's P.O.V

Rick drives into Hilltop and stops the car. He gets out as Maggie walks down to him. "Hey," Maggie says.

"They plan on hitting the warehouse tomorrow. I radioed Oceanside, and they are sending some of their people here for the night. Some went to the warehouse yesterday to start to build the defenses,"

"That's fine," Maggie says. "What did Negan say?"

"He said he didn't know anything," Rick says to her.

"Do you believe him?" Maggie asks.

"There is no way he could have unless he set it up before we got him," Rick says. Maggie nods.

"The Kingdom and Oceanside are watching to make sure they don't get hit. I'm assuming Alexandria is doing the same," Maggie says. Rick nods as he follows her inside and into her office.

"Yeah," Rick says as he sits down. "Daryl has great timing, doesn't he?"

"Yeah, he does," Maggie says.

"We'll beat them," Rick says as Al walks into the office.

"Oceanside is here," Al tells them. Maggie and Rick nod as they walk outside. Rick and Maggie walk up to Beatrice.

"Thanks for coming," Rick says.

"Cyndie made a deal, and we'll honor it," Beatrice says. Al walks over to Charlie. "Who is that?"

"Al and Charlie," Rick says. "They came back with Daryl," Beatrice nods as she walks away. "I'll stay for a little bit. Make sure they settle in," Maggie nods as she walks away.

Alden's P.O.V

Alden walks into the dining room and sits down beside Luciana. "You seem tired," Luciana says to him. "Did you sleep?"

"I got a few hours," Alden says.

"You need to sleep, Alden," Luciana says.

"I will when we stop these assholes," Alden says. Luciana nods.

"So we have marked three hideouts near Hilltop," Luciana says. "Are there any more?"

"No," Alden says. "I don't think we should focus on finding them. They would have moved by now,"

"Then why are we marking these?" Luciana asks.

"Info," Alden says. "I would like to know how they got the guns. We took the guns from Liam. Where did they get more?"

"Maybe they had a secret stash," Luciana says. Alden nods.

"Come on," Alden says.

"Where are we going?" Luciana asks.

"There is an abandoned outpost not far from Hilltop. It was abandoned before Rick showed up," Alden says. Luciana nods as she follows him outside. Alden climbs into a car, and Luciana gets in beside him. Alden starts the car and leaves.

Daniel's P.O.V

Daniel parks the R.V when Carol gives him the thumbs up. He turns the R.V off and steps out of the R.V. "This is coming together nicely," Carol says as she looks around. Daniel nods. "What is the plan if they knock over the R.V or break part of defenses?"

"We'll back up and kill them from a distance. That is the point of the shooters on top of the trucks. And we'll be splitting them up to help prevent that," Daniel says. Carol nods as Aaron walks over to them.

"This side is almost done," Aaron says.

"That side will be done by night. We'll be ready tomorrow," Daniel says as his radio goes off.

"Daniel," Al says.

"Yes, Al?" Daniel asks as he grabs his radio.

"The people from Oceanside are here," Al tells Daniel.

"Okay. We'll be ready tomorrow," Daniel says. Daniel puts his radio away and walks away from Carol and Ezekiel. He walks over to one of the semi-trucks and looks at Jesus, who was on the top. "How is the view?" Daniel asks.

"Good, you can see everything from this side," Jesus says. "Strand and Cole are on the other side if you want to go talk to them," Daniel nods as he walks around the warehouse and sees Strand and Cole loading guns on top of the truck.

"Do those have silencers?" Daniel asks him.

"Yes," Strand says as he looks at Daniel. "Do you want to check them?"

"No," Daniel says as he walks to the front of the path where people were putting a gate in.

"We have to make sure everything is secure, and we should be good to go tomorrow," A man named Bill tells him. Daniel nods as he starts to help.

Alden's P.O.V

Alden stops the car outside the outpost and looks around. He gets out of the car and pulls his knife out. He stabs a walker as it comes towards them. "This is it?" Luciana asks.

"Yeah, it was abandoned pretty early on. They moved to the outpost Rick, and the group attacked first," Alden tells Luciana, who nods. They walk up to the door of the outpost and push it open. The outpost was dark inside. Luciana hands him a flashlight. Alden shines it around. He walks inside and looks at the walls.

"This would be a good place to hide guns," Luciana says. They walk down the hall and stop when they see walkers behind two shut doors with bars in between in the handles. "I don't think the guns are here,"

"Let's check the rooms," Alden says as he goes into the first room. He looks around the room and sighs. Luciana looks at him.

"We'll find them," Luciana says to him.

"People are dying," Alden says. "I don't want anybody else to die. Not because of Negan or the saviors. This was supposed to be a new start, and now it's the same as before. The only difference is which side I'm on,"

"You saved people when you took us to Liam and his gang," Luciana says.

"I saved people from them. We killed them. We should be coming together. Not killing each other," Alden says. "There are more walkers than people," Luciana lays her hand on his shoulder.

"Then let's figure out a way to do this without killing them all," Luciana says. "But we can't do that if we are here," Alden nods as he stands up. Luciana and Alden continue to search the building when they don't find anything. They go outside and get back in their car. They leave, heading back to Alexandria.

Maggie's P.O.V

Maggie walks over to Al's van and climbs inside the back. She looks at Al, who was checking the guns. "You need the guns for something?" Maggie asks Al, who looks at her.

"Yeah, I'm going to the warehouse tomorrow. I'll be able to kill the walkers if the defenses don't work," Al tells her. "I'm making sure the guns will work and are loaded. Hopefully, this helps to make sure nobody gets hurt," Maggie nods as Al grabs her Ar and makes sure it was loaded. She looks at her. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah," Maggie says as she sits down. "Siddiq told me I could learn the baby's gender,"

"You want me to come?" Al asks Maggie, who nods. "Come on then," Maggie follows Al out of the van and towards Siddiq's trailer.

Troy's P.O.V

Troy knocks on Jed's door. Jed opens the door and looks at him. "What? I was about to go to sleep," Jed says.

"How do I prove to you I'm trustworthy?" Troy asks. "I want to prove I ain't a rat," Jed motions Troy into the room. Troy sits down, and Jed looks at him.

"You seemed convinced that I'm a part of the true saviors," Jed says.

"Cut the shit. You hate Rick and everybody who follows him," Troy says. Jed nods with a smile.

"Okay, you want to earn my trust?" Jed asks. Troy nods. "Get rid of Gabriel,"

"Kill him?" Troy asks.

"I don't really care how you do it. But if you get him out of here, make sure no more of Rick's bitches come here. We'll talk," Jed says.

"Okay," Troy says as he leaves the room.

Al's P.O.V

Al was back in the van after finishing with Maggie. She leaves the van and looks at the moon. She sighs as she walks into Barrington's house and looks at Maggie, who was sitting in her office looking at a picture of the baby Siddiq gave her. "Did you want a boy?" Al asks as she walks into the room. Maggie looks at her.

"It didn't matter to me," Maggie says. "I wish Glenn could be here to see this,"

"I bet he'd be happy," Al tells her as she leans against the door. "I have a big day tomorrow. I'm going to bed,"

"Al," Maggie says. Al stops and looks at her. Maggie stays silent for a moment. "Thank you," Al nods as she walks past her up to her room. Tara walks down the stairs and looks at Maggie.

"Stop second-guessing yourself. Unless you show her you want her to stay here. She might leave when Daryl comes back. We don't have time to second guess ourselves," Tara tells Maggie before she walks outside. Maggie sighs as she leans her head back.

"Fuck," Maggie says. She stands up and goes to bed.

Troy's P.O.V

Troy knocks on Gabriel's door. Gabriel opens the door and looks at him. "It's late," Gabriel says.

"Can we talk?" Troy asks Gabriel, who nods and lets him in. Gabriel shuts the door and looks at Troy, who punches him in the face. Gabriel falls to the ground, and Troy kicks him in the stomach. Gabriel gasps for air. "I'm sorry, Gabriel," Troy says before he kicks Gabriel in the face, knocking him out. Troy knocks on the door, and Jed comes in with two saviors and rope. "Tie him up. I'll get rid of him," Jed nods as they tie Gabriel up. They move him through the compound. The saviors on watch open the door, and Gabriel takes him out to his truck. They put Gabriel in the truck, and Troy climbs in the driver's side and starts it. He looks at Jed.

"We'll talk tomorrow," Jed says. Troy nods as he starts the truck and leaves the sanctuary.

Thanks for reading. So two timeline things quickly. Chapters 12 and 10 took place on the same day, and chapters 11 and 13 took place on the same day. Chapter 13 will go back to Georgia, and 14 will be the warehouse. Those will be on the same day. And second, after doing very bad math, I think in this story, Maggie would be five months pregnant. The next chapter will reveal if Beth is alive. What happened to Gabriel will be revealed in later chapters. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
