Chapter 24-Suprise
Negan's P.O.V
Negan opens his eyes and lets out a quiet sigh as he hears someone knocking on the door. He stands up and climbs out of bed. He walks out of the bedroom and walks over to the door. He pulls the door open and looks at Laura. "What?" Negan asks her.
"They are getting ready to eat in the main cabin. Daryl told me to tell you need to come grab a plate and come back here or come and eat with them," Laura says to Negan, who nods as he steps outside. "Negan, about your wife,"
"It's fine," Negan says.
"I figured if they knew you weren't always bad, that they would trust you a little more," Laura rambles.
"Laura," Negan says, making her stop talking. "It is fine. Now let's go eat," Laura nods as she follows Negan to the big cabin. Negan opens the door and walks inside.
"How did you sleep?" Amanda asks.
"Better than I have in months," Negan says as Luciana hands him a plate. "Thank you," Negan says to her as he sits down.
"How do you think the rest of the saviors are going to react to Negan being out?" Cole asks.
"That is Rick's problem," Shane says. "Do you think he'll put Gabriel back in charge of the Sanctuary?"
"Gabriel did good for months," Morgan says. "He didn't have a problem keeping them under control."
"Yeah, everybody seemed to respect him," Laura says.
"There are even fewer saviors now. We just killed a lot of them," John says.
"Their plan was stupid," Negan says.
"Those were your guys," Tobias says.
"Last night, I rearranged one of my guy's guts. His insides probably looked like spaghetti, so I didn't give a shit about them, and Jed was always a problem," Negan says.
"Nice description of what happened last night," June says. Negan smirks as he continues to eat.
"You think Maggie will still trade with us?" Nick asks Daryl.
"I don't know," Daryl says. "But right now, I am most likely the last person she wants to see besides Negan,"
"We'll see what we can do before we go to Maggie," Madison says. Nick nods as they hear a car honk outside.
"Who the hell is that?" Strand asks as Daryl stands up and walks outside. Negan sets his plate down and follows him outside. Daryl goes to the gate.
"It's Carol," Daryl says as he pulls the gate open. Carol drives the truck in and stops it. Daryl walks over to her as Ezikel and Carol get out of the truck.
"So he's living here?" Carol asks as she looks at Negan.
"If I send him back to Alexandria, Rosita or someone else will kill him," Daryl says.
"I'm assuming Maggie was pissed," Ezekiel says.
"That is the understatement of the century," Negan says.
"Troy's okay, though?" Carol asks.
"Yeah, he's fine," Daryl tells her. "Come and eat with us," Carol and Ezekiel nod as they follow them inside.
Two weeks later
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl climbs out of bed and puts his vest on. He grabs his crossbow and walks outside of his room. He stops when he hears something in the bathroom. He walks towards it. He hears someone puking. "Charlie?" Daryl asks.
"It's Alicia," Alicia says.
"You okay?" Daryl asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Alicia says. Daryl nods as he walks away. He walks outside and feels the sun on his face. In the last two weeks, the group had almost reinforced every part of the wall and organized all of their supplies in the big cabin. The big cabin was used for eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, meetings, and storage. They haven't talked to any other community in the last two weeks. Daryl walks down the stairs and walks towards the truck where John, Alden, Shane, Luciana, and Morgan are.
"Where is Alicia?" John asks.
"She's puking inside. She isn't feeling well. She can stay today," Daryl says.
"Should we get someone else to replace here?" Alden asks.
"Everybody else is finishing the walls," Shane says. "We'll be fine. This shouldn't take too long,"
"Yeah. We'll only be gone a few hours. We need this equipment. It will make farming a hell of a lot easier," Luciana says. "Nick will map out where we will put the garden. We'll get what he needs,"
"We'll need to contact Hilltop or Kingdom soon. We'll need horses," John says. Daryl nods as he goes up to his bike. Alden, John, Luciana, Morgan, and Shane get in the truck behind him. Daryl starts his bike and leaves camp with the truck behind him.
Carl's P.O.V
Carl walks out of his trailer and walks towards Barrington house. He goes inside and sees Beth sitting on the stairs. "Hey," Carl says as he sits by her. "Why are you sitting on the stairs?"
"I was thinking," Beth says.
"Where is Maggie?" Carl asks her.
"Probably with Al," Beth says.
"What are you thinking about?" Carl asks.
"Everything that has happened. Every time I talk to Maggie about going to the campgrounds, she sends me a glare that if it could would kill me," Beth says.
"She hates that Negan's out. Also, who says you need Maggie's permission to go there. Grab and car and go there," Carl says. "Daryl and Maggie will figure it out,"
"Who knows how long that will take, though," Beth says.
"We're family, all of us. Family's fight, but in the end, they still love each other," Carl says. "Can I tell you something that not many people know," Beth nods. "It was my idea to keep Negan alive. Not my Dad's. He did it for me, and people are mad at him for something he did for me."
"Why did you want Negan to live?" Beth asks him.
"What would killing him have done. We all want this new world to work. I didn't want it to start out with blood being spilled," Carl says.
"You know your Mom would be proud of you," Beth says.
"I've made a lot of mistakes," Carl says.
"We all have," Beth says. "How about tomorrow you and I go to the campgrounds?" Beth asks.
"Let's do it," Carl says. Beth nods as Carl stands it. "I gotta go help Earl," Beth nods as Carl leaves.
Aaron's P.O.V
Aaron sat in his house with Gracie in his arms. He looks at the door and Jesus as he walks in. Jesus had decided he would be staying at Alexandria for a little while longer. "Hey," Aaron says to Jesus.
"Hey, Rick wanted to see you," Jesus says. "I'll watch Gracie while you go and see him," Aaron nods as he hands Jesus Gracie and leaves the house. He walks through Alexandria until he gets to the steps where Rick is sitting with Judith.
"Hey, Rick. What's up?" Aaron asks.
"I need to ask you something, Aaron," Rick says. "And I need you, to be honest," Aaron nods as he looks at Rick.
"You went to the campgrounds with Maggie a few weeks ago. You came back after she returned to Hilltop late, might I add. I need to know if she said anything to you about Negan?" Rick asks.
"If she did, I wasn't there. Jesus grabbed some things, and we left," Aaron says. "Look, I'm not hiding the fact that I don't like what Daryl is doing, but I would never try anything against him to get to Negan. He's one of my best friends. He did what he had to, and now we move forwards, right?"
"Yeah," Rick says. "I'm going there later today to drop off Judith. Maybe you should come and see what they have done. Both you and Jesus, try to move on with Negan there,"
"Okay," Aaron says before he walks away. Rick nods as he looks at Judith.
Charlie's P.O.V
Charlie walks with a hammer and a bag of nails. She walks over to Negan, Tobias, and Eugene, who are reinforcing the wall from the inside. Negan looks at her as she comes over. "Thanks, kid," Negan says as Charlie hands him the hammer and nails. Negan starts hammering in a nail but stops after a few seconds and looks at Charlie. "You want to help?" Negan asks her.
"Sure," Charlie says. Negan nods as he motions her over. Charlie holds beside Negan.
"Hold the bottom for me," Negan says. Charlie nods as she holds the bottom of the woods. "So, how did you end of with these people?"
"I was part of the stadium for a little bit as a spy for the group that would help take it down. After the stadium fell, I rejoined that group and shot Shane in the shoulder trying to kill Nick, and then Morgan saved me after Daryl was shot. I joined the group after that. Daryl took care of me, and he does when he is here," Charlie says. Negan starts to laugh. "What?"
"Nothing. You shot at them and let to the fall of their home, and they still let you in. Daryl really is serious about this redemption for Glenn's death, huh?" Negan asks.
"You need that redemption too," Charlie says.
"Fair enough," Neagn says with a grin. "You're are right I do, but even if I get it. It won't stop Maggie from trying to blow my dome off,"
"You can't change her mind, but maybe you can change the minds of others," Charlie says.
"Maybe I can," Negan says as he continues to work.
Alicia's P.O.V
Alicia walks out of her cabin and goes down the stairs. She smiles at Madison and Nick as she walks by. She walks into the infirmary and walks inside. June turns her head when she hears the turn open. "Hey, Alicia," June says. June stops what she is doing and turns around. "What's the problem?"
"I've been puking a lot. For the past few days, I figured I should come and see you," Alicia says. June nods as she motions for Alicia to sit down.
"When did it start?" June asks her.
"Three days ago," Alicia says. June nods.
"Have you had any other problems?" June asks.
"No, getting nauseous a lot," Alicia says.
"Alicia, have you had your period?" June asks Alicia, who shakes her head. "When was the last time you had it?"
"A little over a month ago probably," Alicia says to June, who nods.
"Alicia, have you had sex in the last months or few weeks with anybody?" June asks. Alicia stays silent. "Who was it?"
"Daryl," Alicia says. "The first night at the prison when we were burning the Governor's body. We had sex before he burned it," June nods as she goes over to a drawer. She pulls it open and pulls out a box which she takes over to Alicia and hands it to her. "A pregnancy test?"
"Yeah, use the bathroom in here," June says. Alicia slowly nods as she stands up and goes into the bathroom. Alicia walked out of the bathroom about twenty minutes later and handed the test to June, who looked at it.
"You're pregnant, Alicia," June says to Alicia as she sits down.
Thanks for reading. So before I talk about the chapter, sorry about missing Tuesday's upload but last week I was sick, and this week was catch up for me, and I was stressed, but now we are back. So Alicia's pregnant, and that has been something I have had planned since chapter 12 of One choice. I've kind of been hiding at it. Mainly with the Daryl and Carl conversation after Daryl and Alicia found Carl and Enid kissing. Yeah, so that's a thing. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
