Chapter 25-Telling Them

Alicia's P.O.V

Alicia stares at June in shock as she sits back down. "I'm pregnant," Alicia says to herself in shock.

"I can talk to your Mom if you want me to," June says.

"No, I'll do it," Alicia says. "Are we prepared for this?"

"Alicia, we'll be fine," June says. "Right now, you need to worry about talking to your Mom, Shane, and Daryl," June says. "Alicia, you need to prepare because soon you are going to have to stay in the walls,"

"I know," Alicia says. "Okay, I'll go talk to my Mom," June nods as Alicia stands up.

"I'm here if you need to talk to someone," June tells Alicia, who nods as she leaves the cabin.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl stops his bike outside of the small farm Alden told them about. The house was sealed up with walkers inside. Daryl climbs off his bike as Luciana, Alden, Shane, and Morgan get out of the truck, and Shane and Morgan drop the wrap that leads up to the trailer. "Where is the plow?" Daryl asks Alden.

"The saviors sealed this place off, and I asked Simon if we should grab this, but he said it would be a waste of time," Alden says as they walk towards a small shed. In front of the shed was a plow. "Horses should be able to pull it,"

"How are we going to get it onto the trailer?" Shane asks.

"There's a tractor. We can use it to move the plow but leave it. It will be a waste of gas," Luciana says.

"You know how to drive a tractor?" Morgan asks Alden, who nods.

"Yeah, let me go make sure it will run. Do you have straps?" Alden asks.

"Back of the truck," Shane says.

"Grab 'em," Alden says. Shane nods as he walks away.

Al's P.O.V

Al walked into Maggie's office and saw her lying with her head on the table. "You okay?" Al asks with a smile.

"I'm stressed. As time goes on, more and more people here are getting pissed about Negan being at the campgrounds, and they keep coming to me, and now the saviors need even more help after Daryl killed the true saviors, and then there is the whole problem with Daryl-"

"Maggie," Al says, stopping Maggie's rant. "You need a break," Al says.

"There isn't exactly a five-star hotel I can go to," Maggie says. Al walks up to Maggie.

"No, but there is Oceanside. You know what, tomorrow, you and I are going to Oceanside," Al says.

"Al, I have-" Maggie starts to say.

"No, you have nothing to do. Tomorrow you and I are going to Oceanside," Al tells her.

"Okay," Maggie says after a few minutes. "We will go to Oceanside,"

"Good," Al says. She kisses Maggie's head before she gets up and leaves. Maggie smiles as she watches her.

Alicia's P.O.V

Alicia walks up to Madison, who is talking with Amanda and Dwight. "Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" Alicia asks her Mom, who nods.

"Sure," Madison says as she follows Alicia away from the others. Alicia leads her Mom to her cabin and sits on the stairs. Madison sits down beside her and looks at her. "Alicia, what's wrong?" Madison asks. "I can tell something is wrong just by the look on your face."

"I-I'm," Alicia takes a deep breath. "I'm pregnant with Daryl's child," Alicia says quickly. Madison stares at Alicia after she finishes. "Mom?"

"When? When did you guys you know?" Madison asks.

"The first night at the prison. After everybody went to sleep and before he burnt the Governor's body," Alicia says. Madison says.

"Well, that isn't what I was expecting to hear today," Madison says. "Does he know?"

"No, only you and June know. I just found out," Alicia says. "I still gotta tell Shane, Nick, and Daryl,"

"Your brother can wait a little bit," Madison says. "Alicia, why didn't you use protection?"

"Two reasons. One, we didn't have any outside, and two, it was the heat of the moment, and it just happened," Alicia says. "We decided we'd stay friends. I decided we should stay friends,"

"Okay," Madison says. "Let me ask you something. Do you want this baby?"

"I didn't know if I did when June told me but now that I have some time to think about it. Yes," Alicia says. "I'm worried that Daryl won't,"

"If he doesn't, I'm going to kill him," Madison says. "If you were worried about telling me. Wait till you tell Shane,"

"I'm not doing that. Daryl is after I tell him," Alicia says. "I am staying clear of that bomb," Madison chuckles.

"I'm not mad, Alicia. I'm worried, but at least I won't have to worry about you leaving the walls much," Madison says. Alicia nods. "If anybody should be worried, it should be Daryl,"

"Don't kill him," Alicia says. Madison wraps her arm around Alicia.

"I make no promises," Madison says. Alicia lays her head on her Mom's shoulder.

Tara's P.O.V

Tara was inside of Barrington house to go see Lilly. "Hey, Tara," Maggie says from her office. Tara turns her head and walks into the room.

"Hey, Maggie," Tara says.

"Al wants to take me to Oceanside tomorrow. Would you mind watching things around here?" Maggie asks.

"No, I got it. Have fun," Tara says. Maggie nods as Tara goes to the stairs. She goes upstairs and goes to Lilly's room. She opens the door and walks inside. Lilly sat on her bed, cleaning her gun. Lilly looked at her sister.

"Hey, what's up?" Lilly asks.

"What are you doing?" Tara asks her sister as she sits down beside her.

"I'm getting used to this new arm. Earl and Carl did a good job," Lilly says.

"Yeah, they did. I haven't seen you much. Have you been staying in here?" Tara asks her.

"Yeah," Lilly says. "Things have been crazy outside, so I figured I could get some peace in here."

"Yeah, no kidding. Maggie and Al are going to Oceanside tomorrow so Maggie can have a break," Tara says.

"I know what Negan did, but don't you think you guys are maybe overacting a little bit," Lilly says.

"Do you think we are?" Tara asks.

"I think even though he doesn't have any power. You are letting him control you," Lilly says. Tara doesn't say anything as she looks at Lilly. "He lost, and now he is in that place, and he isn't bothering anybody. I say unless we need to, we let him be. I wasn't here, though, so maybe you guys can't. Anyway, I should help outside. See you, sis," Lilly says before she leaves Tara to her thoughts.

Madison's P.O.V

Madison walks up to the gate as Rick drives inside. "Hey," Madison says to Rick as he gets out of the car, followed by Aaron and Jesus. Aaron was holding Gracie. "I didn't expect to see you two here,"

"Where's Daryl?" Aaron asks.

"On a run. They should be back soon, though," Madison says as Rick pulls Judith out. "No, Michonne?"

"No, she's busy," Rick says. Madison smiles at Judith as Rick hands her to the blond.

"Hey, sweetie," Madison says to her. "Shane will be here soon."

"What are they doing?" Jesus asks.

"Alden took them to a place the saviors sealed off. Said there was a plow there we could use for farming. Daniel and Nick are marking that part of the camp," Madison says to him. Jesus nod. "How is Rosita doing?"

"Better than she was," Rick says. "I think she's coming to terms with it," Madison nods.

"Madison, we finished reinforcing the wall. What's next?" Negan asks as he walks up to them. "Hey, Rick,"

"Do you know if they finished the north part of the wall?" Madison asks Negan.

"Tobias said he was going to check," Negan says as he looks at Aaron and Jesus. "Is the baby from one of the outposts?" Negan asks Aaron.

"Yeah, she is," Aaron says. "You have something you want to say about it?"

"Nope," Negan says. "I was asking a question, and that is it. Is everything okay with Alicia? She looked a little pale when I saw her go into the infirmary earlier," Negan says.

"She's fine. If they don't need help at the north wall, go help with inventory or help Nick and Daniel," Madison tells him. Negan nods as he walks away.

"He seems to be doing well," Aaron says.

"He hasn't caused any problem and has been very helpful with the wall," Madison says. "How long do you plan on staying?"

"We'll have to leave before dark, so a few hours at least," Rick says. Madison nods as they walk away from the car.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl drives his bike into the camp as the sun starts to set in the sky. He stops his bike, and Morgan pulls up the truck beside him. He rolls down the window. "We'll get the plow out tomorrow," Daryl tells Morgan, who nods as he turns the truck off. Daryl climbs off his bike as Rick and Madison come over. "What are you doing here?" Daryl asks.

"Michonne and I thought maybe it was time for Judith to spend some time with Shane," Rick says. Daryl nods as Madison walks over to Shane with Judith. Alicia walks up to Daryl.

"I need to talk to you," Alicia says.

"Are you feeling okay?" Daryl asks her.

"Yes, I'm fine. Come on," Alicia says as she walks away. Daryl follows Alicia until they get to their cabin. Alicia leads him inside and shuts the door. She reaches into her back pocket and pulls out the pregnancy test. She holds it out to Daryl. Daryl grabs the test and looks at it. His eyes widened in shock. "In case you don't fully understand. I'm pregnant with your child,"

"I got that," Daryl says. Daryl sits down and stares at the test. Alicia stands there in silence as she lets Daryl process the information. After a few minutes, she speaks.

"I know you think you'll be a bad father, but you've done good with Charlie," Alicia says. Daryl doesn't say anything. "Can you please say something? Yell, get angry. I don't care what. Just say something," Alicia says.

"You want to keep it, right?" Daryl asks after a few seconds.

"Yes, do you not want to?" Alicia asks.

"I do," Daryl says as he finally looks at her. "Does your Mom know?"

"Yeah," Alicia says. "I'm scared. I'm terrified."

"You'll be okay. You and this baby will be okay. I'll make sure of it," Daryl says.

"I'm glad you're okay with this because you got to tell Shane," Alicia says.

"Great," Daryl says. "I'm scared too, but a part of me is a little excited," Daryl tells her.

"You're not worried you'll be a bad father?" Alicia asks.

"No, I am. But I'm going to be a father, and if I am a bad one and I hurt the kid, Shane will kill me, so," Daryl says.

"You'll be a great father," Alicia says as she sits down beside him. "Our lives just got a lot more complicated,"

"I should go face Shane," Daryl says as he stands. He walks towards the door.

"Hey," Alicia says to him. Daryl looks at her. "Maybe not tonight, but we should talk about us,"

"You said that you wanted us to stay friends," Daryl says.

"I know what I said. This is making me rethink a few things. We need to talk," Alicia says.

"We will," Daryl says. Alicia nods as Daryl leaves. Daryl goes back to the cars and looks at Shane. "We need to talk," Shane nods as he follows Daryl.

"I'm guessing this has something to do with what Alicia just told you?" Shane asks.

"Yeah. She's pregnant, and it's mine," Daryl says.

"This happened at the prison, didn't it?" Shane asks Daryl, who nods. "Madison know?"

"Yep," Daryl says.

"You know if you were anybody else, I would shoot you," Shane says. "Still kind of want to shoot you. But I know you, and I trust you. I know you'll take care of them, and you'll be a great father," Shane walks closer to Daryl. "But if you hurt them. I will kill you, and nobody will ever find the body,"

"Got it," Daryl says. Shane nods as he turns to walk away.

"Congrats Daryl," Shane says before he walks away. Daryl smirks as he follows him.

Night

Daryl, Alicia, and Charlie walk back to their cabin later that night. The two of them had decided that besides Nick, Madison, Shane, and Rick, they didn't want to tell anybody about Alicia yet. Daryl planned on telling Rick the next time he saw him. They wanted to wait until Alicia got a little further along. Daryl takes Charlie to her room and makes sure the girl gets in bed before he leaves, shutting the door on his way out. He looks at Alicia. "We'll talk tomorrow," Alicia says. Daryl nods. Alicia walks up to him and hugs him. She lets him go after a few moments. "Goodnight,"

"Night," Daryl says as he goes to his room.
