Chapter 36-Making peace
One week later
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl grabs his crossbow and walks outside of his cabin. He looks at Morgan as he walks up to him. "You ready?" Daryl asks Morgan, who nods. Two days before this, Rick had asked all the leaders to meet at Alexandria.
"Ready when you are," Morgan says. Daryl nods as they go to his bike and climb on before leaving the campgrounds heading for Alexandria.
Alicia's P.O.V
Alicia was looking at her room, and she sighed. "What's wrong?" Charlie questions from behind her. Alicia jumps a little and looks at Charlie.
"I'm thinking about something," Alicia says. She looks at Charlie. "Maybe you can help me. I got something I need to tell you, but you can't tell anybody, okay?" Alicia asks Charlie, who nods. "I'm pregnant, and the baby is Daryl's. Now only Daryl, Shane, Nick, Mom, John, June, and Beth know, so don't tell anybody." Charlie nods with a smile on her face as she looks around the room.
"So, what's the problem?" Charlie asks Alicia.
"The baby will need its own room, and this house only has three rooms," Alicia says.
"Then sleep with Daryl," Charlie says. Alicia looks at the girl and smiles.
"That's how I got here," Alicia says with a cheeky grin.
"Ewww, why would you say that?" Charlie says. Alicia laughs as she looks at the child's facial expression. "I meant in the same bed, sicko."
"I know," Alicia says. "That should work. I'll talk to him when he gets back."
"Maybe I should tell him you need to learn how to speak around children," Charlie says, making Alicia laugh as she walks away.
Nick's P.O.V
Nick walks away from the grass beside the large cabin after he finishes his morning training. He walks up to Luciana. "Can we talk?" Nick asks Luciana. Luciana nods with a frown on her face as she follows Nick. Luciana follows Nick to their cabin and sits on the porch beside him. "Where is Alden?" Nick asks Luciana.
"Is that what this is about?" Luciana asks Nick quietly. Nick nods. "Nick, you don't hav--"
"Lucy, it's okay," Nick interrupts her. "I'm not mad. I don't want you to be with someone you don't want to. I get it, I left for a while, and you two became close. I don't blame you for that. You didn't even know if I would come back alive," Nick explains.
"Nothing happened between us," Luciana reassures him.
"I know," Nick says. "You aren't that kind of person, but I can see it in his eyes and yours," Nick says. "These things happen. I'll always love you, Lucy, and I'll always be here for you, but he'll make you happy, and that is all I care about."
Luciana nods with a smile as she grips his hand. "I'll get my stuff out," Luciana says.
"No, need. I bet I can get Dwight to move in with Amanda, and I'll stay with Morgan," Nick says. Luciana nods. Nick kisses her head and smiles at her before she walks off.
Carl's P.O.V
Carl was helping Earl melt metal when Enid walked up to them. "Can we talk?" She asks Carl. Carl looks at Earl, who nods. Carl takes his gloves and apron and follows Enid.
"What's up?" Carl asks her.
"Did you tell me the truth?" Enid asks him. "About the reason, you went to the campgrounds."
Carl sighs and shakes his head as he looks at her. "I'm sorry. What I was doing would put Negan at risk if people found out," Carl explains. Enid nods. "Shane is taking him on runs. He asked me to join. I didn't want Negan or anybody else to get hurt," Carl explains to Enid, who nods.
"I need you to stop lying to me. I won't tell Maggie if you don't want me to, but all this lying is doing is making me worry more. We are a team, Carl," Enid says.
Pausing for a second, Carl looked up at her, uncertain "I know you don't like me seeing-"
"I trust you." Was all Enid said softly, holding his hand.
Carl nods as he kisses her.
"I love you," Carl says. His eye widens at what he says, and Enid smiles.
"I love you too," Enid says before she kisses him again. "Now go get back to work before Earl kills us." Carl nods with a smile as he walks away.
Morgan's P.O.V
Morgan, Daryl, Maggie, Al, Rick, Michonne, Carol, Cyndie, Ezekiel, and Reilly stood inside the church of Alexandria. "So why are we here?" Maggie asks.
"There has been some tension between some of the communities because of Negan and maybe some other problems. I want to fix that today," Rick says as he sets a piece of paper down.
"What is this?" Morgan questions.
"A treaty if you want to call it that," Rick says. "We cannot have this tension. If you sign this, it means you are a part of this new world. We are building that your communities are a part of him."
"What happens if we don't sign it?" Cyndie wonders.
"We'll leave you alone," Michonne answers. Cyndie nods as she looks at the paper.
"What are the terms?" Ezekiel asks.
"Let's start with the big one. Negan," Rick says, locking eyes with Maggie and Cyndie as he says Negan's name. "Negan is not to be harmed in any way. I mean that. Any attempts at harming him will have consequences, and if he does something, it will be up to Daryl and Morgan to deal with it," Rick says firmly. Maggie nods first, followed by a hesitant Cyndie. "The same goes for the saviors."
Reilly gave a quiet sigh of relief, nodding at Rick in thanks. He knew that would placate Arat some when he got back.
He looked around, not seeing the tense jaw on Cyndie's face.
Rick inwardly sighed, thankful they weren't making a scene at least.
"What else?" Daryl asks.
"Each community will set up their own trade agreements. If needed for repairs, communities should be prepared to send help and supplies," Rick states. They all nod as Rick continues to speak, outlining the agreements in greater detail.
Aaron's P.O.V
Aaron held Gracie as Jesus was packing the rest of his things. "It's going to be weird returning to my shity trailer," Jesus says as he zips a bag.
"You'll always have a place here to sleep if you need it," Aaron says to Jesus, who nods.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Jesus asks Aaron, who nods.
"I'll be fine. I lived here by myself while Daryl was gone. I'll have Gracie," Aaron reassures Jesus, who nods. Jesus nods as he grabs his bag. He walks up to Gracie and smiles at the baby.
"Keep him out of trouble," Jesus says to the baby, who smiles, gurgling up at him. Jesus looks up at Aaron and smiles at him. Jesus turns to leave.
"Wait," Aaron says. Jesus turns and looks at Aaron. Aaron takes Gracie to her crib and lays her down. He walks back over to Jesus. Aaron walks up to Jesus and kisses him. Jesus takes a step back before he returns the kiss. Aaron pulls back. "I know you have to leave, but I wanted you to know how I felt," Aaron explains to Jesus, who nods as he drops his bag and kisses him again.
Negan's P.O.V
Negan hit a walker over the head with his crowbar sending it to the ground. He looks at Alden as he kills one. "Let's get these in a pile," Negan says as he drags the body. Alden nods as he does the same. After Negan sets the body down, he starts to look around the wall.
"What are you looking at?" Alden asks Negan, who looks at him.
"A way to keep these shit bags off the wall," Negan answers as he looks around. "Do you think we could dig a trench?" Negan asks Alden.
"Around camp?" Alden questions Negan, who nods.
"Yeah, the meat bags would fall into them, and we'd just have to kill them and clear the bodies. They won't be able to hit the wall, and we can stop it from taking damage," Negan explains to Alden, who nods.
"It would take a month or two, but yeah, we could. We could put some spikes around the driveway, and the walkers will fall onto that," Alden says.

"You should tell Daryl and Morgan about that," Negan says.
"Why me? It was your idea," Alden argues.
"Yeah, but I ain't best buddies with the boss. He'd be more likely to do it if you told him," Negan reasons. Alden frowns as he looks at the former Savior leader.
"Tell him. If he sees that you want to help, he could be more lenient." Alden tells Negan before he walks away. Negan sighs as he follows him.
Daniel's P.O.V
Daniel sat in his cabin playing the guitar Shane had found when there was a knock on the door. "Come in," Daniel says. Charlie opens the door and looks at the older man. "What is it?"
"Nothing, I heard the music, and I wanted to see where it was coming from," Charlie explains to Daniel, who nods. Daniel motions Charlie into the building. Charlie walks up to him.
"Have you ever played?" Daniel asks Charlie, who shakes her head. "I used to play for my daughter when she was younger," Daniel tells Charlie with a small, sad smile on his face.
"Her name was Ofelia, right?" Charlie asks Daniel, who nods.
"Sit," Daniel says to Charlie as he pulls out a chair. Charlie sits across from him. "Would you like to learn?"
"Yeah," Charlie says. Daniel nods as he starts to teach the girl.
Beth's P.O.V
Beth walks over to Tara, who is looking at a map with Lilly. "What are you doing?" Beth asks the sisters who look at her.
"Well, John is teaching more people to shoot guns, but at some point, we will run out of ammo. People should start to learn how to use bows," Tara explains to Beth. "Problem is we don't have any, and we need arrows,"
"Well, we can make arrows. Daryl showed me how to do it while we were on the road. The bows we'll have to search, and I bet there are some in one of the armories," Beth says.
"Do you think Daryl would teach?" Tara asks, curious. Beth was about to answer when she remembered that Alicia was pregnant. "He might be busy, but I can help."
"You know how to shoot a bow?" Lilly asks the blond.
"A crossbow and I bet I could learn how to shoot a bow. I also know how to track," Beth says.
"Okay, well, let us find some places, and we'll do runs to them during the next few weeks," Lily suggested.
Beth nods as she walks away.
Daryl's P.O.V
They all stood around the table after Rick finished speaking. Rick signs the paper and hands it to Michonne, who does the same. She looks at Daryl, who nods as he grabs the pen. He signs his name and hands it to Morgan. Carol, Ezekiel, Maggie, Al, and Reilly sign. Reilly holds the pen out to Cyndie, who grabs it and signs her name. "Good, that's all for today. You can all head home," Rick says.
"Can You, Michonne, Morgan, and Maggie stay?" Daryl asks the four, who nod as the others leave.
"What's wrong?" Maggie asks.
"Nothing. I just wanted to tell you all something. Alicia's pregnant," Daryl tells them. Daryl could see the shocked looks on their face.
"It's yours?" Rick asks Daryl, who nods. Morgan smiles as he hugs Daryl.
"That's great. Who all know?" Morgan asks.
"Nick, Madison, Shane, Beth, Carol, John, and June," Daryl says. Maggie hugs Daryl.
"You'll be a great father," Maggie reassures Daryl.
"Do you know the gender or how many?" Michonne asks.
"Nah, I think when I get back, I'm going to ask June to do an ultrasound," Daryl tells them. They nod.
"I'm happy for you, brother," Rick says. "We'll talk more later. Go home. Let us know," Daryl nods. He gives Rick and Michonne a hug before they leave.
Alden's P.O.V
Alden walks to his cabin and sees Dwight. "What are you doing?" Alden asks.
"You're staying with Luciana now," Dwight tells Alden, who nods with a confused look on his face. He walks away from Dwight and walks into Luciana's cabin.
"So, what's up with the cabin change?" Alden asks Luciana as he walks in.
"Nick and I broke up," Luciana answers. Alden nods. She stands up and walks up to him. "Do you have the same feelings I do?" Luciana asks Alden, who nods. Luciana nods as she kisses him.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl walks into his cabin after they get back and looks at Alicia. "Come on," Daryl says to Alicia, who looks at him confused. "June is going to give you an ultrasound," Daryl explains to Alicia, who nods as she follows Daryl out of the cabin. They walk to the infirmary and see June.
"I can get your Mom and Shane if you want," June offers comfortingly.
"No, it's okay," Alicia replies as she climbs onto the bed. June rubs the gel on Alicia's stomach and grabs the transducer. She starts to rub it on Alicia's stomach. She rubs it around until they hear a heartbeat.
"There we go," June says. "So far, we only got one," June says as she moves it a little more. They hear a second heartbeat. "Sounds like you two are having two babies," June says as they stare at the screen. Alicia nods with a few tears in her eyes. June continues to look around for a little but stops. "It is still a little too early to tell the gender, but they look healthy. I can print a picture,"
"Do it," Alicia says to June, who nods as she walks away. She looks at Daryl. "We're having twins," Alicia says with a smile. Daryl smiles at her and kisses her.
Thanks for reading. So instead of doing a few chapters in this current time, I will do a few chapters over the rest of the nine months to the bridge saga. It will show stuff with Daryl and Alicia as well as some of the others. I think there could be three to four of these. I am not a doctor, so I'm not a hundred percent sure how ultrasounds work.
