Chapter 100-Meeting new people

Three's month's later

Reilly's P.O.V

Reilly walked into his radio room and sat down with a grimace. He grabbed the radio. "This is Reilly. Campgrounds do you copy?"

"What's up, Reilly?" Amanda answered, curious.

"I need to talk with Daryl," Reilly tells her.

A couple of minutes later, Daryl speaks in his regular gruff tone. "What is it?"

"We have a problem, I've been trying to control it, but it's getting worse. Some of the saviors are pissed off that we are working with Oceanside again," Reilly tells him. "It's a small number, but they aren't happy about it. I don't think they'll attack them, but I wanted you to know."

"I have to go see Kathy tomorrow. I'll let her know. If it gets worse, let me know, and I'll come to talk to them," Daryl tells Reilly, who nods. "Anything else?"

"No, talk to you later," Reilly says as he sets the radio down, looking over his shoulder in worry.

Alden's P.O.V

Alden sat in front of a fire watching the flames as he ate a can of beans, currently, he was in Oregon right now. He had come across other communities over the last few months but never went near them. He froze when he heard a branch break behind him...soon he dropped the can and grabbed for his gun. "That's a bad idea." He hears a man say behind him. The man walks in front of Alden with his gun still raised. "You mind if I sit?"

"You going to kill me?" Alden asks him.

"I won't if you don't do anything stupid," The man says as he sits down. The man was tall and had an athletic build. He had brown hair and long black shaggy hair. He had a thin beard and wore a baseball cap on his head backward.

"...Sit," Alden tells him, The man nods as he sits down and sets his gun on his lap.

For a long minute, the two stared each other down...till the other man asked, curious.

"What's your name?" He asks politely.

"Alden," Alden says as he picks his can of beans up and continues to eat. "You?"

"Deacon," Deacon tells him, then looked around the area. "You alone?"

"Yeah. What do you want?"

"I was camping for the night when I saw your fire, wanted to see who was here." Deacon tells him. "Look, I'm a part of a camp not far from here. Let me take you back there. You shouldn't be out in all this shit by yourself."

"No thanks. I'm not looking for a camp."

"You need supplies, that's pretty clear," Alden gave him a glare as Decaon rolled his eyes "Ok look, come back tomorrow, get some supplies, shower, and sleep in a bed for the night, and you can leave the next day," Deacon offers.

Alden looked at his bag, and Deacon was right. He had enough food for two days and would run out of water tomorrow. He didn't have a car anymore either after losing when he ran out of gas a week ago. "You have a car I can use?"

"Yeah, we can get you a car," Deacon answers. "So you coming?" He asks as he stands up, gesturing behind them. Alden slowly nods as he stands up, picks up his bag, and then follows the man.

Daryl's P.O.V

The next day

Daryl was crouched behind a bush in the woods with his crossbow in his arms as he watched a deer. He raises his crossbow and prepares to fire, but an arrow goes through the deer's heart, killing it as it falls to the ground. Daryl stands up and looks at Clementine, who is smiling at him. "To slow, old man!" She says with a smile as she walks up to the deer and pulls the arrow out. "I think I'm winning now."

"'Cause I'm letting you," Daryl tells her as he picks the deer up.

"Sure," Clementine says as they start to walk back towards the campgrounds. "I think your age is getting to you."

"I'm not that old," Daryl tells her. Clementine laughs as she puts her bow on her back.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Clementine asks him.

"I'm going to Oceanside with Alicia, Charlie, and Rachel. We're taking some food to them, and talk to them." Daryl tells her.

"And your kids?"

"They're coming. I gotta talk with Kathy anyways," Daryl tells her. "I know Negan and Kate are going to check in on Richmond."

Clementine nods as they see the gates to the campgrounds. Daniel pulls the gate open, and they walk inside. Daryl takes the deer to the cabin they stored their food in and sets it on the table inside. Daryl looks at Dwight. "You got this?"

"No problem, I'll get it hung up," Dwight tells Daryl, who nods as he leaves with Clementine. Clementine walks away from him to go talk with AJ, who was there with her. Daryl walks to his cabin and goes inside, and looks at Alicia, who is getting the kids ready.

"Charlie and Rachel are getting the food in the truck. I'm going to get these two in the car. Come out when you are ready," She tells Daryl, who nods as she leads Merle and Ofelia out.

Maggie's P.O.V

Maggie walked down the stairs of Barrington's house and walked outside. It had taken them a month to fix the wall and then reinforce it. She looked at the gate as it opened and a car came in. She looked at Carl, Enid, and Rick as they climbed out of the car and looked at her. Maggie smiles as she walks up to him. "Hey," Maggie greets, hugging the one eyed Grimes. "What are you guys doing here?"

"Dad's here to see Beth and Tara. He needs to talk to them. I'm here to see Earl," Carl says as he walks away from them, while Rick walked into Barrington to see Hershel, Maggie looks at Enid.

"Who's with Arya?" Maggie asks Enid as she starts to walk with her.

"She is learning to kick ass with Jesus. Those are her words, not mine," Enid says with a smile, as Maggie rolled her eyes, knowing her surrogate Granddaughter had a fowl mouth on her. "Where are Hershel and Al?"

"She's with him upstairs," Maggie tells her as they sit on the steps.

Alden's P.O.V

Alden rides on the back of Deacon's bike as they go across a bridge and into a camp. Deacon stops his bike and climbs off as a woman walks up to them. The woman was of average height with brown hair and brown eyes, with a a slim build. "Deek, you're back. And you have a friend."

"Rikki, this is Alden. Alden, this is Rikki. She runs things around here." Deacon smiled as she waved it off.

"I help run things around here. Don't listen to this idiot," Rikki clarified him. "Are you staying?"

"No, Deacon said he could get me some supplies and a car, and I could be on my way tomorrow," Alden informed her.

"We can get you that, but my advice would be to stay, safety in numbers. You should find somewhere to settle down," She tells him.

"I have somewhere," Alden tells her, looking away for a moment "I'm part of a community in Virginia. I needed some time away, so I left for a little while."

Deacon whistled. "Holy Christ. Virginia? And you made it all the way here? Well shit. I am impressed buddy."

"Okay, Deacon can show you somewhere you can sleep. I'll see what we can spare," She tells Alden, who nods as Deacon leads him away.

Negan's P.O.V

Negan drives his truck into Richmond and stops it as the gate stops behind him. He climbs out of the truck with Kate following. He looks at Kate as Javier and Gabe walk up to them. Gabe runs up to Kate and hugs her. "I didn't think they would send you." Javier says, beaming seeing his old friend coming here

"I think they wanted to get rid of me for a little while," Negan grinned at him. "So, how have things been here?" Negan asks Javier as they start to walk through Richmond.

"Good, we have started to replant and fixing some of the buildings that got damaged during the fight with the Militia and the walkers," Javier tells him. "We're starting to get the armory filled up again with weapons and ammo."

"Clinton and Paul?" Kate asks.

"They're doing okay," Javier says as he looks at her. "How are you doing?" He asks Kate, concern in his eyes.

"I'm good. I'm doing good, Javi," Kate tells him softly, putting a hand on his shoulder reassuringly.

"We do have a request," Gabe says, causing Negan to raise an eyebrow. "We got a few pregnant women but not enough medicine for them all. We were going to ask if any of the communities have some to spare?"

"Hmmm, well not really sure on that. But I'll talk to June and Siddiq, see what they can scrounge up," Negan tells him. "How has training the citizens been going?"

"It's been rough. David wasn't kidding when he said some of them didn't know how to shoot a gun," Javier tells him, weary looking at the slow progress. "We're making progress."

"Well you could just throw them outside, have them find their way back." Negan chirped.

Javier gave him an unamused look while Kate hid back a chuckle "That's not funny."

"It's a little funny," Kate smirked at Negan, can't help but smiling back.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl drives his bike through the gates of Oceanside and stops it as Alicia stops the truck behind him. He looks at Kathy as she walks up to them. "How much food is that?" She asks him, staring wide eyed at the bundle.

"Should be enough to last a month or two. Brought some seeds as well. Plant some more food," Daryl tells her as he climbs off his bike.

"Thank you," Kathy says in gratitude as she nods as the women start to get the food.

"Come on. We gotta talk. Alicia is gonna take the kids to the water," Kathy gave him a raised brow, but slowly nodded as she follows Daryl to her trailer. They walk inside Kathy's trailer, and Daryl shuts the trailer's door.

"What's the problem?" Kathy asks warily.

"Reilly radioed me yesterday. Some of the saviors aren't happy that we're working with you again."

"That surprised you? They hold grudges. I guess we do too," Kathy said with some bitterness.

"I am just telling you, so you know. Keep it to yourself. We don't need another fight. Reilly will keep the saviors from doing anything stupid. I just wanted you to know. We'll continue to deliver supplies, so don't worry about that."

Sighing in relief, she quietly muttered "Thank you."

Daryl nodded back, leaving the trailer as she sat down...hoping nothing happened that would cause them to be exiled again. Like it or not, they needed this.

Alden's P.O.V

Alden woke up when he heard shouting in gunfire outside of his cabin. He quickly stands up and grabs his gun off the nightstand. He goes to the door and pulls it open, seeing fires and men running back through the camp with guns. Alden exits the cabin and shoots two men as they shoot at people in the bigger cabin. Alden gets behind a tree as men start to fire at him. Deacon comes up to him soon enough and pulls him behind the cabin, shooting back at the men.

"What the hell happened?" Alden yelled over the fire and guns

"Bandits!" Deacon tells him. "I'll explain later." Deacon tells Alden, who nods as they move from behind the cabin and shoot three more bandits as they move towards the infirmary. They get to the hill above the infirmary and see more of the raiders shooting at the infirmary. The two men raise their guns and shoot, causing The men to fall to the ground as they hear an air horn. The gunfire stops as Alden looks at Deacon, then back at the rest started to scatter.

"They're retreating," Deacon tells him as he looks around. "Go make sure there are no more, and then meet me in the big cabin." Deacon tells Alden, who nods as he ran to the cabin, while Deacon barked out to make sure none of the dead nearby were closing in from the noise.
