A/N: Here's Chapter 12, I hope you enjoy!
The lights were flashing as the music was blaring at one of the Sunyshore City nightclubs. As the rangers were hanging out, Stacy, Setsuna, Xavier and Mason were hanging out at a booth, laughing away.
"I really needed this night out!" Xavier shouted, turning to Setsuna. Setsuna turned around as she shook her head. She would rather be home, in bed. Stacy grinned as she looked up, turning to Mason, "I'm glad that I had a chance to leave."
"This is nice… but, I would rather be out doing something over there," said Mason, pointing to the dance floor. Stacy laughed as she was watching a few Clefairy jump around, dancing. She turned to Mason as she shook her head, "If you want to dance like them, knock yourself out."
As she laughed, Mason shrugged as he looked at the others. He then turned around as he was seeing Carl at the bar. Mason stood there in surprise as a couple of people were surrounding Carl, having a conversation. The yellow ranger stood aghast as he turned to the rangers, "Well, look at this! Carl got a fan club."
"Say what?" asked Xavier, turning around.
"Huh?" asked Setsuna and Stacy, looking at the green ranger. He was sitting at the bar, a little loaded as he turned around talking to a few people.
"So, wait, you saw the Poké Rangers firsthand?" asked one of the clubbers.
"Oh yeah! I remember the time they saved Pastoria City from turning it into anarchy. It was a mess, bro. And let me tell you, their tech was so cool. I love technology," he said.
"That must've been so cool. Which one is your favorite?" said the other clubber. Her blonde hair flipped back as she leaned her arm on the bar, upholding her head. Carl grinned as he looked at her, "I mean, green is my favorite color."
Stacy, reading his lips, rolled his eyes as she went to sip on her beverage, "Oh, give me a break."
"What?" asked Mason.
"I was able to read what Carl said. He's showing how much he adores the Poké Rangers…" Stacy replied.
Setsuna turned to her, "Well, jeez. Maybe, you should stop him before he blows his cover. You know, drunken mind, sober thoughts."
Stacy sighed as she got up from the booth. As she headed toward Carl, Carl looked up as she placed her drink on the stand. Her drink was empty as Carl reached over, "Stacy… how are ya?"
"Carl, let me get my drink," she said, turning to the bartender, "I need another Sunyshore Baybreeze."
As the bartender was making it, Carl grinned as he looked at her with a smile on his face. The others were looking at him. The grin was so obvious as the blonde woman looked at her, "So, is she a friend of yours?"
"Heck yeah," he said, grinning. Stacy, red with embarrassment, turned around as she paid for the drink. She then grabbed him by the arm, "Yes, and we are going to have a nice conversation back at the booth."
"But, you guys know I don't do well at clubs… I am good like this!"
Waving goodbye to who he was speaking to, she pulled him by the arm as she looked at him. He was already three cups of the Sinnoh Island Iced Tea, "Jeez, Carl… are you going to blow your cover?"
"Stacy… hahaha," he said, "No, I wouldn't."
"Could've fooled me," said Stacy.
As she went to bring Carl to the booth, he smacked his head into someone. Carl looked up as he noticed someone familiar. He had black hair with brown eyes and had a green sweatshirt with blue jeans. He had a brown backpack and he was looking at Carl, surprised, "Carl, why are you so…"
"JAY!"
Carl pushed Stacy aside as he grabbed Jay with open arms, giving him a bear hug. The rangers, confused, turned to what was going on as Jay nodded, "I'm glad he met friends. My name is Jay, one of his childhood friends… actually, his only friend."
"Oh…," said Stacy, surprised.
"How about this?" asked Jay, "I will take him outside and you guys just have fun… I am sure, he and I have a lot of catching up to do… maybe he'll sober."
"Good idea," Setsuna replied.
Jay nodded as he grabbed Carl, heading outside. Doing so, Setsuna turned around as she looked at what cup he was drinking. She freaked out, "Why would he drink something so strong?"
"I think his social anxiety of meeting people got the best of him," said Xavier, "Remember, we were the only friends he had before him."
Stacy sighed as she turned to the others, "I'm worried he's going to say something though. I get their best friends…"
"I think Carl just needed to loosen up," said Mason, "Not like that, though."

Chapter 12: Partners in Crime
Capone's Lair…
All was quiet in the Capone Prison. It was very quiet with only the power humming in the background. Satfrax was sitting down as he was watching Cyrus occupying himself. Drawing cards, he was playing his own little game as he lifted his head. Persira was groaning as she turned around, looking at the two of them.
"Ugh… I want to go clubbing, I'm bored," she said, turning to Capone, "Capone, don't we have any more money?"
"We used it all and some of our income went up in smoke after what happened," said Capone, taking the cigar and placing it in his mouth.
Satfrax turned around, overhearing the conversation, "Relax, Persira. Little do you know that the real fun is just beginning."
"What do you mean?' asked Persira.
Cyrus chuckled as he looked at her. His evil grin and eyes were staring at her as he nodded his head, "You see, Persira…. I have a plan to help you…"
"Sure you do," Persira muttered. Only for Capone to overhear her, he stood up from his desk, clearing his throat, "That's enough, Persira."
Persira turned around, her body jolted as the crime boss was smoking his cigar, "Cyrus has a plan… and it will make us rich."
"I don't trust a human, no offense," she said, turning to Cyrus. Cyrus grinned as he crossed his arms, "None taken. But, you will see, Persira."
Outside the Nightclub…
"So," said Jay, grabbing Carl by the arm. Carl turned around as he shook his head, "Look, pal, I'm a little out of it, okay? Besides, the last time I saw you I was only five! Besides talking on the phone…"
"Live a little buddy!" Jay said, looking at Carl, "Wow, you really were sheltered since your dad died."
Carl rolled his eyes as he looked at Jay, "Sometimes, you just have to roll…"
"Oh buddy," Jay replied, chuckling as he walked with him. He grabbed a cigarette and placed it in his mouth. He then gave one to Carl. Carl, not sober enough to respond, grabbed the cigarette. Jay reached for a lighter as Carl went to smoke. Carl was just trying to reconnect with his long-lost friend, granted it seemed that Jay was off the handle. As the two headed toward an ally, Carl stopped to see another man down the alley. He had a black cloak with a blue turtleneck shirt and brown pants. He had brown hair and red eyes with a tan skin complexion. Jay grinned as he walked over, "What up, home slice?"
"Home slice?" asked Carl, raising an eyebrow, "Who the heck is he?"
"This is Scott, bro. He's a magician. He's the reason why I am rich," said Jay, smacking Scott's back. Scott shook his head as he turned to him, "Nice to meet you, Carl."
Carl froze as he turned to Jay, "How… does he know my name?"
"He's a magician and can read thoughts! He's really cool. You need to see my collection of things… you know how many places I've been with him. He does real well for himself," said Jay, grinning, "And I am going to separate you from your sheltered life, buddy."
Carl laughed as he looked at him in disbelief. Little did he know that while he was partying around the world, the past few months have been traumatizing as it is. Jay has no idea what Carl went through. Before Carl could say a thing, someone grabbed him away. Carl turned around to see Mason behind him.
"Yo, what are you doing out here? The others are looking for you. They all went home… and I need someone to make sure I get home," Mason replied.
"We're doing a business run," said Jay, "Go find someone else."
"Listen, punk," Mason responded, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, "Carl is going to take me home. He's more sober than me… go do your own thing."
Jay gulped as he turned to Carl. Carl grinned as he looked at Jay, "I'll see you tomorrow, Jay."
Mason grinned as he dropped Jay down to the pavement. Jay landed on one knee as Mason was being dragged, only for Carl to grab him to protect him from falling. As they turned around, Mason looked at Carl as he looked at the sidewalk, "Buddy, can we chat?"
"What?" asked Carl, drunk enough, "I have to get home once I drop you off."
"Nope. You're stayin' over. I am not having you walk all the way home in the middle of the night," he said, "Especially with those creeps. Who the hell is Jay anyway?"
"Jay was my childhood friend," said Carl, smoking a cigarette. Mason turned around as he grabbed the cigarette and stomped on it. Carl looked at him in response, "Mason…"
"He's bad news," the yellow ranger replied, "Trust me… I might be intoxicated but I can sense fake when I see it. Also, smoking? Bad habit."
Rolling his eyes, Mason grabbed Carl by the shoulder as they both carried each other back to Mason's place. As that was going on, Jay was watching the whole thing. He watched them as he turned to Scott. Jay kicked a barrel that was in the alley, smacking into the brick wall, "I wanted him to join us so badly."
"Into doing what I actually do?" asked Scott, "He won't do it."
"Why?" asked Jay.
Scott said nothing as he looked at Jay, "You will find out in due time. Now, if you will excuse me, I need the bag."
Jay nodded as he knelt down, seeing a green dumpster. He noticed a brown sack as he reached underneath, grabbing it. Opening it, Scott stretched his arms out as a purple aura surrounded the sack. Immediately, jewelry, cash and gold were placed in it. As the aura diminished, Jay turned around as he freaked out. The Centuroids were marching forward as they gave Scott five banded stacks of cash before grabbing the sack. A blue aura appeared as they disappeared. Scott grinned as he gave two stacks of cash to him, "Go make your deposit."
Jay nodded, "Just let me know when you need me to do another run."
Sunyshore Lighthouse….
The sun was rising carefully above the Sinnoh Region as Stacy sat down with her computer. Opening it, she was checking her business emails as she had her cup of coffee as well as some pain relief medication from the hangover. As she was sipping, her Kadabra walked over with a floating plate of food. Kadabra grinned as Stacy was in her pink nightgown, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts underneath with pink slippers.
"Kadabra!"
"Thanks," she said, petting him, "Go meditate with Meditite."
"Kadabra!"
Kadabra nodded, jumping up to meet with Meditite. As she was reading the emails, she heard the sound of Carl's voice as the door slammed below.
"Mason, Jay is my best friend… I can't believe you would insult him that way!"
"Carl, Jay is using you. He brought you to an alley to meet with Scott? He could've been dealing something and you could have been arrested," said Mason.
"For someone that was drunk last night, you obviously still had your senses," said Carl, folding his arms as he looked at the yellow ranger, "Or are you just being overprotective?"
Mason's eyes grew, "Listen, you… the last time you were on your own, you ended up in Cyrus's jail cell waiting to be experimented on!"
Stacy closed her laptop as she turned around. Stacy was already annoyed being hungover, she didn't need to hear it from them. She marched forward as she slapped both of them, "Can you act like adults and stop acting like 13 year olds?"
Carl said nothing as he looked at Mason. Mason stared at him as Carl turned around, heading toward his computer that he left in. Mason turned to the coffee bar that was in the kitchen, making his own. As the quietness continued, the sound of Setsuna's voice was heard as she left her room. This time, she wore a red t-shirt with white shorts. She had a bottle of water in hand.
"Are you going to go workout?" asked Carl.
"No…. it's a rest day… but you woke me up with your little ordeal," the red ranger replied.
Carl, embarrassed, turned around as his heart sank. As he went to click on a few things, Xavier's voice could be heard from downstairs. Running up the stairs, Xavier missed a step and tripped on the floor. The rangers looked up as the blue ranger picked himself up, "Hey, around 1 last night, 10 stores were robbed. No alarms, no burglars."
"How?" asked Carl.
"That's what I want to know. Detectives are on it, police is on it… it was a good 500 million Pokédollars missing in a three day period," said Xavier.
Carl looked down as he scratched his chin. Thinking back to what he could remember last night, he remembered something about Jay and Scott. Carl looked up as he went to stand up. He turned to the team, "I'll be back."
"Where are you going?" asked Mason.
Carl turned around as he looked at him, "I said… I'll be back."
As Carl headed down the stairs and out the door, Mason shook his head as he sat down on the couch. A concerned Hoot looked at him as he grabbed an icepack to put on his head, "What's Carl's problem?"
"Yeah, what is his problem?" asked Stacy.
"Well, I couldn't find Carl last night when you all went home. You forgot to bring me along. You know, like we planned?" asked Mason.
Setsuna cringed, "Guess we all lost it."
Mason shook his head, "Anyway, I couldn't find Carl and I lost my direction. I ran into him in a dark alley. He was with a guy named Jay… he's bad news."
"Bad news?" asked Xavier, "How so?"
"I think he has a rep sheet…," said Mason, taking his card, "Jay Taylor is his name… I grabbed it when I almost punched him in the face."
Hoot floated over as it landed on the charging deck. Hoot nodded as the background information piled up. His eyes were glowing as the data continued to connect. The rangers turned around as Jay's face was on display. Mason shook his head as he was reading the rep sheet, "Wow, two misdemeanors, and five years for grand larceny? Who wants to be friends with that guy."
"He was also released on parole," Hoot added.
"Too soon I guess," said Setsuna, looking at Hoot, "I wonder if he's connected to the robbery?"
"Nah, he's born in the 21st century," said Xavier, looking at the birthdate, "He wouldn't have that power."
"No," said Setsuna, looking at Xavier, "But, remember… the future is in the present. You never know what connections are made."
"You mean Jay could be working for someone?" Stacy asked, raising an eyerbrow. Setsuna nodded as she turned to her, "Correct."
Xavier sighed as he turned around, "We don't have enough evidence though. We just have a theory."
Mason nodded his head slowly as he stood up. Mason sipped a cup of coffee as he turned to the rangers, "Or… just have Carl handle it…"
"What do you mean?" asked Hoot, turning to Mason. The yellow ranger continued, "If Carl really sees Jay as a friend…"
"You think Jay will lead Carl to what's going on… and what if you're wrong?" asked Stacy.
Mason raised an eyebrow as he went to sip his coffee. He shrugged as he turned to the rangers, "Well, Stacy. As I tell my Machamp, at least we tried something."
"Well," Hoot said, turning around, "I did feel a mystical presence last night… in the same alley that Carl was located."
Mason turned around as he looked at Hoot, "I would've seen it too."
"This happened after you left," Hoot responded, looking at Mason, "I would watch Carl…"
Sunyshore Pier…
Carl was walking along the pier, seeing the wild water Pokémon hanging out. As he continued down the cemented platform, he was looking up at the warehouses. Jay asked Carl to meet him there the next day after they were out having fun. The green ranger was kind of curious to see what was going on. As he was heading toward another warehouse, which was a white building with red doors, he walked inside. He opened the door and saw nothing but an abandoned, empty floor. Looking across, Carl recognized those Pokémon. Jay was a fire type fanatic. His Arcanine and Magmar were sitting as they were hanging out. He turned around as he was heading over toward Scott and Jay. However, there was something a foot. He noticed brown bags with cash and jewels. Carl froze as he quickly hid.
"I am glad that we were able to make all these transactions. We have one more job to do," Scott said.
Carl looked over as he was watching the conversation unfold. Carl shook his head as Jay went to reply, "No way! I said this was the last job last night. I just got out of jail and I don't want to be included in your crimes…"
Scott sighed as he turned around, "That's a shame, Jay. Because when you are with Capone's Gang, you don't quit. To leave… you must die."
A red aura surrounded Scott as he transformed into a humanoid Scorbunny. However, he had ruby armor on his chest plate, boots and wrists. He also had a purple cape with a white and red stick, similar to Braxien's magical wand, "I will send you flying!"
Jay froze as he stumbled backwards. Immediately, Arcanine and Magmar jumped into the scene. "You plan on defeating the greatest thief Scorbutron? Allow me…"
Snapping his fingers. Explosions surrounded Arcanine and Magmar as they landed on the ground, wincing in pain. Jay turned around as he looked at what he just saw. No Pokémon could take that force. Jay stumbled as he looked at Scorbutron. Scorbutron laughed as he pressed the button. Blue cages surrounded the two Pokémon. A white aura surrounded them as they disappeared.
"No!" shouted Jay.
"Now, if you want them back, you are going to do your job," said Scorbutron.
"Don't do it, Jay!"
Scorbutron turned around, noticing Carl. Carl stepped forward as he walked toward Scorbutron and Jay. Jay dashed forward, "Carl, get out of here… this doesn't concern you."
Carl turned to Jay and shook his head, "I know too much already."
"I know you know too much… I could read you, Carl… or should I say… Time Force Green?"
Jay slowly turned around as he looked at Carl. Carl gulped as he stared at Scorbutron. Obviously, Scorbutron was a magician who could read minds faster than ever and wasn't even a psychic type attribute. Carl reached for his badge, which was in his pocket. He stretched it out as he headed toward Scorbutron, "I had a feeling that you would figure me out. Sorry, Jay."
Jay turned to him, "You have some explaining to do."
"So do you… when I'm done with him," said Carl.
Scorbutron twirled his staff and released a pinkish-reddish flame attack. Carl performed a shoulder roll dodging the attack. Carl stood up as he placed his arms in an X formation, with his Chrono Morpher facing the creature.
"Time for… Time Force!"
Stretching out his arms, he then placed his right hand on the Chrono Morpher. Pressing the button, a red and white Poké Ball was flashing on the morpher as blue lights began to swirl. Carl jumped up, as he transformed into his suit. Landing on the ground, Carl turned around as he stretched out his badge, "Poké Rangers Time Force… you're under arrest!"
"Take some of this!" he said, releasing red and pink energy. Carl dodged it as he pressed buttons on his Chrono Morpher, "Chrono Access: Vector Sabers!"
As he released another attack, Carl deflected it. Pink beams struck Scorbutron as he stumbled. Carl jumped up as he slashed Scorbutron. Scorbutron jumped up, twirling around as he released flames. Carl was hit, landing on the ground. As Scorbutron floated, Carl used his Vector Saber, charging green energy, "Vector Hurley!"
A green energy pulse struck, just in time for Scorbutron to deflect. Carl stood in horror as Scorbutron kicked him down. Carl flew as he landed on a bunch of boxes. Scorbutron released rapid flames from his baton. Explosions surrounded Carl as he flew across, landing on the ground. Jay stood in shock as Carl tried to get up, slowly. Scorbutron headed toward him as Jay dashed over, heading out. Carl turned around as he released his Vortex Pulsar. Releasing green electronic beams, explosions occurred as Scorbutron tried to walk through the smoke, only to see him missing.
"Darn them! Well, they will return…," he said.
Outside…
Jay started running toward the beach area, heading away from the pier. As he was dashing over, he froze as Carl appeared, morphed. Carl walked over toward him as he stepped forward. Jay gulped as he went to run, only for Carl to grab him by the arm. As he grabbed him by the arm, Jay turned around slowly. Carl threw a punch at him as Jay landed on the sand. Jay looked up as Carl placed his fingers on his morpher. A green aura surrounded him as Carl's uniform disappeared.
"Carl, please I can explain…"
"You have a lot to talk about…." Carl said, "Maybe after I arrest your friend, you can feel what it's like to be arrested… in a freeze capsule for a long time."
"You too! I didn't know you were one of those crazy futuristic cops fighting Capone's crazies. How did you even manage to even get one of those?" Jay asked.
"That's not important!" Carl responded, getting angrier, "Now talk… I want to know about Scorbutron…"
"Why? He's a better friend," Jay responded, playing the game. Carl shook his head as he looked at him. Carl decided to take it to a whole different situation, ready to press buttons on his Chrono Morpher, "You know what? Fine."
Jay looked over as Carl went to walk away, "I will… let this go."
"You are?" asked Jay.
"Yup," said Carl, turning to Jay, looking at him, "I mean, you just got out of jail… reunited with your Pokémon… after having a theft charge… and two misdemeanors. Yet, you just sold your soul to Croak Capone. Jeez, what did you drink last night to make that happen? But, I will just let you breathe…"
Jay looked at him as Carl continued. He walked over toward him and grabbed him by the neck, "And seeing that you didn't tell me about your criminal conduct, once Scorbutron is in a cage, I am going to make sure that you get locked up."
"You can't… I didn't expect him to be working for Capone," he said.
"You didn't expect?" asked Carl in disbelief, "With what was stolen, if you were caught, you would never see the light of day again. As a matter of fact, if you don't comply and tell me everything… not also do I have to arrest Scorbutron to send him back to the future, guess who I have to arrest because he helped with the crimes? You. So, come clean right now and maybe I can help you. Unless you want to serve the rest of your life behind bars."
Jay chuckled as he looked at Carl, "Carl, you are so innocent, you honestly think you can arrest me? You're not a cop…"
"You're right," Carl said, sitting down on one of the crates behind him, "But, I am a Time Force Ranger. That means working to make sure I put away Scorbutron and save our future. Helping him makes you an accomplice… and I am sure I can find a way to charge you in the present."
"You're not a cop, you can't," said Jay, laughing.
"But, I can report you…" said Carl, grinning, "You forgot that my dad worked for the police department and also I have friends who work in private investigation. With the evidence that you all left behind…"
Jay turned to the warehouse. Carl nodded as he grinned, "Scorbutron was so fast to leave, he left his evidence, and I am sure if I can get my Pokémon to sniff it… mmm… it's going to lead right to you. So, how did you meet him?"
Jay was silent as Carl stared at him. Jay never expected Carl to figure it all out. As he stood silently, Carl sighed as he reached for his Pokétch, "Alright, guess I'll call the locals."
"Wait…"
Carl looked up as Jay turned toward him, "It was the week I got out on parole. No one would hire me for a job and my Pokémon were in my parents care. They booted me and told me to go make a living. After being lost and not able to find something, I met Scott. Scott is Scorbutron and he found a way for me to be debt free. So, for the past couple days, I grab his brown sacks and with his powers he was able to locate certain places and steal. He stole in other cities as well. I was able to afford my own home, a car, food… and all I had to do was keep doing it. It was only today I found out that he worked for Croak Capone. Nor did I know he was from the future."
"You do realize what you just did could've cost you everything right? Plus your life," Carl responded. He stood up as he looked at Jay. Walking over, he headed toward Jay, "Croak Capone is a 41st century mob boss. He has multiple criminals committing multiple crimes. Many have been murdered. I have a friend who lost her whole family due to his actions and from what I heard, those who work for Capone, once you join the family, you don't return."
"What do you mean?" asked Jay.
"Quitting basically means death," said Carl, turning to Jay. Jay froze as he looked at the pier, muttering, "It was just a job… just to get my life started."
"Yeah… um, that's not how that mob operates," Carl responded, "You had a choice… you could've said no."
Jay raised an eyebrow, "Not if your Pokémon are involved. If I refused, he can take my Pokémon to be used for Capone's crimes."
Carl's eyes were raised, looking at Jay. His voice was stern, which made him freeze a little, "That's why he captured them…"
"So, what do I do? I have to do this," said Jay. Turning around, Jay decided to walk away from Carl. Carl stepped forward, "You don't have to do this alone. We can get your Pokémon back!"
"What do you mean?"
Carl started dashing toward Jay, intercepting him. Jay stopped walking as Carl went to speak, "I have a plan… I can get your Pokémon free. In exchange, I will arrest Scorbutron."
"Are you going to arrest me too?" asked Jay.
Before Carl could say anything, he turned around as he heard Mason's voice in the alley. Mason and the others stepped forward as he looked at him, "Well, we might pardon you for being cooperative… but you are going to have to return what was stolen."
"And no additional record," Setsuna replied.
"Seriously…," said Jay, turning to Carl. Carl grinned as he walked over, meeting the other rangers. As he turned toward Jay, Carl nodded slowly, "Jay, these are my friends. Trust me, we will get your Pokémon back."
Stacy folded her arms as she turned to look at Jay, "On one condition… you cooperate to take Scorbutron in. We won't report it."
"You also have to keep our identities a secret," Xavier responded, "Knowing what you know already could disturb the balance of our future here."
Jay gulped as he turned to Carl, "Let's trap this creature."
"Good," Setsuna replied, "So, according to the prisoner report. He was arrested for blackmail and theft felonies… 300 years of freeze compression."
Jay gulped, "Freeze compression?"
"So, rather than just sending criminals to jail, they get frozen in capsules," said Carl.
"Frozen?" Jay asked, turning to Carl. Carl nodded as he turned to Setsuna, "Setsuna, I think I found a way that we can capture Scorbutron. Just leave it to me."
Sunyshore Pier, later in the day…
As the sun was starting to set, Jay was heading toward the back of the pier, following the directions given to Scorbutron. Jay agreed to do this last job. As he walked toward the farthest warehouse, Jay stopped as he noticed Scorbutron with his two Pokémon caught in a cage, screaming for help. Jay stepped forward as he went to speak, "I have the box you need for the robbery."
Scorbutron, looking up, started laughing as he turned to him, "You got me a box?"
"I found something expensive in the Sunyshore Museum. It is the Golden Houndoom… turns everything into gold," said Jay, "But, the museum is the state of the art."
"What do you mean?" asked Scorbutron.
"Think about it," Jay replied, "You get it, you can make so much money… Capone will have an empire."
Scorbutron laughed as he turned around and looked at him. As Jay placed the box, he stepped back as he looked at Scorbutron, "Fine… if you think that will help you get out of this."
He stretched out his arms as a purple aura surrounded him. Raising his baton, a pink and red aura formed around the box. Scorbutron was looking down as a golden aura surrounded the box. Jay grinned as he picked it up, "See?"
Scorbutron laughed as he snapped his fingers. A blue aura appeared as a familiar face arrived. He walked toward Jay as he laughed, his blue eyes were staring at him. Jay froze as he saw his face, "Cyrus of Team Galactic?"
"Surprise," said Cyrus, snapping his fingers. The Centuroids appeared from all over the area. They aimed their weapons straight toward Jay. Jay gulped as he looked at Cyrus, "What's the meaning of this?"
"Simple. Those who leave the Capone Gang, die…" he said, "Prepare yourself!"
As Jay gulped, the Centuroids aimed their weapons, pulling the safeties of their weapons. Jay closed his eyes, knowing that this was a set up. As he cringed, he heard the sound of an explosion. Jay opened his eyes as the Golden Houndoom exploded. Scorbutron noticed the wires attached to it, "A bomb?"
Suddenly, two streams of flames hit him as he landed on the ground. Turning around, Scorbutron saw Arcanine and Magmar dash toward him. Scorbutron was hit as Magmar threw a punch at him. Arcanine released flames, trying to burn Scorbutron. Cyrus turned around to assist, only for Carl and the others to arrive. Cyrus was pulled back by Carl. Carl threw a punch at Cyrus as he landed on the ground. As Cyrus was coughing up some blood, the other rangers were dealing with the Centuroids. The Centuroids were struck by their Time Blasters, knocking them out. As Arcanine and Magmar backed off, Setsuna stepped forward with her blaster, "Scorbutron, its over."
"How did you know?" asked Scorbutron.
"That's not important!" said Carl.
"Crobat," said Cyrus, "Use Aerial Ace!"
As he threw his Poké Ball across, his Crobat was revealed. His wings stretched out, heading straight for Carl. Carl quickly dodged the attack as he threw his Poké Ball, "Starmie, Psychic!"
The ball was thrown, revealing Starmie. As Starmie landed on the ground, pink energy surrounded Crobat as it froze. Starmie then threw Crobat across telepathically on the pavement. Crobat turned around as he was damaged heavily by the attack, "Rapid Spin!"
Starmie spun across, heading toward Crobat. Crobat was hit, heading toward Cyrus. Cyrus was smacked in the face by Crobat as he landed on the ground. Jay looked over as he watched Arcanine and Magmar return toward his Poké Balls. Cyrus grumbled as he looked at them, "… Scorbutron, finish them!"
Scorbutron laughed as he looked at them, using his wand. Psychic and fire energy struck out. The rangers dodged the attack as explosions occurred. Carl turned to the others as he withdrew his Chrono Morpher, "Let's Poké Battle!"
"Right!" shouted the rangers.
Carl stood in the middle as he formed an X with her arms, the morpher faced Scorbutron. The others followed suit as they stretched out their arms and then placed two fingers on the morpher, "Time for… Time Force!"
Pressing the button, a red and white Poké Ball was flashing on the morpher as blue lights began to swirl. The rangers jumped up as they transformed into their suits. First, Carl jumped up as his suit materialized. In a four-way split screen, the other rangers transformed in their suits. The five rangers landed on the pavement.
"Time Force Green!"
"… Red!"
"… Pink!"
"… Blue!"
"… Yellow!"
"Poké Rangers Time Force!" shouted the rangers as Carl stretched out the Time Force Badge. The rangers stepped forward as Carl spoke, "Cyrus, Scorbutron, you're under arrest! Prepare yourself!"
Scorbutron turned around as Cyrus shook his head, "Very well… Centruoids!"
As he released golden coins from his hand, the Centuroids appeared with the sounds of clinging and clashing. They all started marching toward the rangers. The rangers withdrew their morphers, "Chrono Access!"
Pressing buttons, the rangers revealed their Vector Sabers. The rangers were slashing each of the Centuroids within seconds. As more were coming toward them, the rangers stood together as they charged their weapons, "Build Up! Vector Hurley!"
Releasing five beams of energy, the Centuroids landed on the ground. Jay turned around as he looked at Cyrus, hiding behind the boxes, "Wow, they really are crime fighters… come on, Carl."
Carl jumped up as he slashed Scorbutron. Scorbutron used his baton, releasing a pink energy wave, causing Carl to freeze. Carl was then thrown to the ground. As the rangers went to help, psychic energy beams hit the rangers as they landed on the ground. The rangers looked up as he went to strike again, only for Carl to deflect it. Carl slashed Scorbutron across, only for Scorbutron to smack him in the stomach. With his wand, he slashed Carl's suit, causing Carl to land on the ground.
"You're doomed, green! Say goodbye!"
Jay gulped as he turned around to see what was going on. He knew exactly how to handle this, "Of course… his wand."
As he reached for his Pokémon, a laser pistol appeared behind him. Jay turned around as it was Cyrus at gunpoint, "Not so fast!"
Taking his Poké Ball, he grabbed Jay by the neck. Dragging him, the rangers turned around as Jay was caught. Carl stood in shock, "Jay!"
"Stand down, Poké Punks… or I kill your friend," Cyrus said, "Just like how I killed your father, Carl."
Carl froze as he turned to both Scorbutron and Cyrus. It was a tough situation as he tried to figure out what to do. As he looked at the rangers, he turned to Scorbutron as he laughed, looking at him. Jay struggled as he turned away, "Don't worry about me, bud."
Carl nodded as he placed his Vector Saber down and then he placed his hands up, "I know."
"On your knees, Carl!" he said, laughing. Carl placed his knees down as he looked up, "Just like your father… hahahaha."
Carl was silent as he was looking over. He noticed that something glimmering behind him. As he looked up, he noticed his Starmie was not in his Poké Ball. Mason and the others turned around as Cyrus went to point at the others, "Don't move! I want to see Carl suffer and lose someone else. His best friend becomes a criminal! Hahahahaha! It's a shame he couldn't work for me when I was leader of Team Galactic. He would've been great."
Starmie started silently walking toward Cyrus as Carl laughed, "Jeez, you know what's curious? I wonder how someone who has Scorbunny DNA is able to use psychic energy?"
"What do you mean?" asked Cyrus.
"Well, let's be real. I have a Starmie! You know that it's a water-psychic type and it can do that. I just found it odd," Carl said.
"What are you doing?" Stacy asked quietly. Carl looked down sharply, "Shut it… Stace… can't afford another life."
"Exactly, pinkie. Zip it," said Cyrus, "Where are you getting at?"
"Well, I am just amazed. If only my Starmie was here. All I could say… is Starmie, use Psychic to disable you!"
Cyrus laughed as he went to pull the trigger, only to feel his muscles tightened. He looked behind to see Starmie using pink energy, freezing Cyrus. Quickly, Jay stepped on his foot and grabbed his blaster. As Jay caught it, he performed a shoulder roll and pulled the trigger. Blue beams struck as Scorbutron's wand was broken. As Scorbutron stumbled, he released pink energy bolts. Jay yelled as his energy bolts pierced his stomach, causing him to land on the ground.
"JAY!" shouted Carl.
Carl dashed over as he went to pick him up. As he grabbed him, Carl looked up as he took his helmet off, looking over him, "Jay…"
"Carl," said Jay, coughing, "That wand was used to take everything and his weapons. He's vulnerable now…"
As Jay lay down unconscious, Carl turned around as he looked at Scorbutron. He threw the helmet to Setsuna, who caught it. Scorbutron laughed as he looked at him, "You just lost a friend… hahahaha… HAHAHAHA!"
Carl clenched his fist as he stepped forward. As he walked toward him, Carl picked up his Vector Sabers. As Cyrus broke free from Starmie's exhausted energy, Cyrus went to pull the trigger on the blaster that was left on the ground. Carl turned around, releasing green energy beams, hitting Cyrus. Cyrus yelled as he landed on the ground. Turning around, Scorbutron released flames from his mouth. Ducking, Carl rolled over, slashing Scorbutron. Scorbutron yelled as he landed on the ground.
"Now," said Carl, "Build Up!"
Green waves of fairy energy formed around her blades. Carl jumped up as one blade was above his head and one blade was stretched to his right. A green clock appeared behind him as he jumped up, "Time Strike! Leaf Slash, 9!"
Two green lines of grass type energy occurred as Scorbutron was hit. Explosions occurred as Carl landed on the ground with his blades. Scorbutron stumbled as Carl walked over toward Setsuna. Setsuna picked up his helmet as he went to place it on his head, "Now, Vortex Bazooka!"
The Vortex Launcher connected on top of the Vortex Sniper. The Vortex Blaster connected to the front of the weapon. The Vortex Vulcan and Vortex Pulsar combined on either side of the blaster, sideways. The Time Force Rangers held it as they aimed for Scorbutron.
"Vortex Bazooka!"
"Target…," said Stacy.
"Locked On!" shouted Setsuna.
"Not today!" said Scorbutron, ripping the scab off his arm. A blue aura surrounded him as he grew ten times bigger. Carl turned around as he looked at Cyrus, who already disappeared. Scorbutron released flames of energy, shooting the rangers down. Carl hopped over as he tried to pick up Jay. As he carried him over his shoulder, he placed him on the side, "Stay here, buddy."
Turning around, he reached for his Chrono Morpher, "Hoot!?"
"I saw. Emergency System activated!"
During the slipstream, the Time Force Zords went through two thousand years of history. As a white light surrounded one of the buildings, the five jets appeared out of Sunyshore City's attractions. Flying across, the Time Force Zords were in a linear formation. The rangers jumped into the zords as Carl landed on the ground. Scorbutron released psychic energy, hitting his own zord.
"He seems too fast to try to form the Megazord together," said Setsuna, "Are you good?"
"I'm doing okay… just shaken up. Let's try a different method! Gamma Formation, Time Force Megaship!" Carl shouted.
The five Time Force Zords flew across together, knocking the criminal off balance. As Time Jet 1 stood in the middle, Time Jets 2 and 3 connected to either side. Time Jets 4 and 5 connected to the back. The rangers were in the cockpit as Scorbutron released flames from his wand. Flames floated into darts as they went to strike the Megaship.
"Time Tornado!"
A green aura surrounded the Megaship as it flew into a circular motion, creating a funnel deflected the flame like darts, hitting Scorbutron in the face. As he stumbled, the funnel disappeared as the Megaship headed toward Scorbutron.
"Signal Beam, fire!" shouted Carl.
Three beams, one red, one yellow and one blue struck Scorbutron as the Megaship flew across, hitting him in the stomach and chest. As he landed on the ground, the Megaship continued to fly across.
"Now, while he's down," said Setsuna, "Open Formation, Pokémon Mode!"
In a flash of red light, the jets transformed into their own zords, "Megazord Formation, Alpha Mode!"
Iron Valiant folded its weapon as it transformed into an arm with Luxray. Luxray transformed into arm as the tail shrunk, legs folded with a hand forming. The two arms floated across as the Empoleon Zord split into two legs. The head shrunk as the body split. The Torterra Zord shrunk its head and arms, becoming the chest as the tree detached, becoming the shield. The Infernape jumped up as it crossed its arms and legs. The Infernape combined with the Torterra as its head popped up. The other zords connected with it. The tree was held, becoming a shield.
The rangers this time landed in a cockpit, with red lights. Setsuna appeared with her console, "Time Force Megazord Saber!"
A pink blade, similar to Iron Valiant's lance appeared. It was a pink blade with a silver hilt and blue crystal with black and gold lights.
"Take this!" he shouted.
A green aura surrounded his wand as it turned into a whip. The whip stretched out grabbing the saber. A red electric bolt surrounded it as it headed straight toward the Megazord. Sparks flew as the Time Force Megazord was hit. As the rangers were stuck, Carl turned around as he looked at it, "Time Force Shield, Psybeam!"
The Time Force Shield stretched out, releasing a rainbow pulse of energy. Scorbutron was hit as sparks struck him. The Time Force Megazord Saber slashed Scorbutron's whip. The whip disintegrated as the wand disappeared.
"Now," shouted Carl, "Let's do it!"
Carl pressed a button on the joystick. A green aura surrounded it as a duplicate saber appeared, the same as the Time Force Megazord Saber. Pulling it out, he stretched it out as two blades on either side stretched out, exactly like the Megazord. As the Megazord stretched it, the same thing happened. A green clock appeared behind it as the clouds and skies got darker.
"Blizzard Strike!"
A teal aura surrounded the Megazord Saber as it slashed Scorbutron. Upon contact, a yellow and green energy slash surrounded the criminal as he screamed. Scorbutron froze as Carl turned to the screen, "Time's up!"
3… 2… 1… FREEZE!
"Darn it!"
Sparks flew across as he exploded in the ocean. A blue aura surrounded him as the monster shrunk into a figurine, landing next to Jay. Jay, somewhat awake, watched as he went to look at it, "It's so… tiny."
Looking up, Jay watched as the Time Force Jets disappeared into a time dimension. Standing up, carefully, he went to touch it, only for Carl to push aside, "Don't touch…"
Jay looked confused as Carl got on one knee. As he reached for his Time Force Badge, a green aura surrounded Scorbutron as he transformed into a capsule, "Case closed."
Later that night…
The Sunyshore Police were outside the warehouse of where the items were placed. As the police and detectives were collecting the items to return to each person, the rangers were watching off the coast. As the rangers were sitting on the side, Jay walked over as he turned to Setsuna. Setsuna looked at him as Jay stretched his arms out. Carl turned to him as he looked at Jay, "Why?"
"I should be arrested for doing this," said Jay, "It only makes sense."
Setsuna shook her head as she placed her hand on the wrists, "You see, Jay… we got rid of the sacks you used."
"What?" asked Jay.
"There's no trace… you're scot-free," said Stacy, grinning, "Consider it a second chance."
Xavier nodded as he went to add on, "Also, Jay. To prove you were with people from the future… they would send you to a psych ward."
Jay slowly nodded as he turned to the others. As he grinned, sighing in relief. The rangers turned around as he went to leave. As he went to step, he stopped as he turned to Carl, "Hey, Carl. Take care of yourself."
Carl nodded as he went to speak, "Stay out of trouble."
Jay nodded as he turned around, walking away from the rangers. Carl shook his head as he went to sit down on one of the boxes, "Guys, I need a nap."
"A nap or a drink?" asked Mason.
Carl pointed at Mason within an instant, "Oh no, I'm not drinking with you again. You can't hold it."
"Hey!"
Carl chuckled as he started to walk away from the group. Mason chased after him as Carl started heading away from the pier. Xavier, Stacy and Setsuna laughed as they brought up the rear as the rangers headed home for the evening.

Poké Rangers Time Force Chapter 13: Battle Casino
A/N: So… talk about a chapter where a trainer goes bad, right? I wanted to give more Cyrus time. Also, this was intense for Carl to decide what he wanted to do. Next chapter is going to be fun… let's see what happens! I am looking forward to Battle Casino, which is a chapter that Time Force never adapted, except the fight footage! See you then!
Also, thank you for the uptick in reviews. It was appreciated :)
