Disclaimer: Pokemon is owned by the Nintendo, Hakunon/Fate is owned by the all-powerful Mushroom(Nasu), and all that stuff.
The Pokemon that teleported in front of them stood the same height as Nomia, with their stubby legs and large brown ears the Pokemon had the appearance of a star. It was teetering on its tiny stubs of legs before being held up from behind. It still had a splash of… green on the corners of its mouth.
"Cleffa…" The Pokemon wheezed out, "Fa." The Pokemon wobbled on its tiny stub of legs before waving its stubs of arms in a manner to stabilize itself.
"Riolu." Ren's awe at the sight of the injured blue jackal half crouching behind the Cleffa, blood was soaking their blue fur, and one of their ears was nicked. The blue jackal began to continuously say its name as they pointed at the pair of Rangers.
"Ok, Ho-Oh forgive me…" Ranger Ken muttered, "We'll need all hands on deck but you." He pointed at Hakuno, "Stay in the back, your job will be to escort the wild Pokemon away, the whole mountain might end up going into a frenzy and… She might come out. We are far away from her but she fiercely protects her children. Do not get into a battle unless you have no choice and if so… hope we are nearby…"
Hakuno nodded and Ren was already trying her hand at approaching the injured Pokemon.
Riolu growled at her and snapped its teeth when she got closer.
"Shroom," Weaver, her Shroomish, waddled in between the three while…
"CLEFFA!" The little pink star pointed right at Hakuno.
Hakuno turned her head. Why was the little thing pointing at her? The Cleffa uneasily limped towards her confusing the Riolu. Nomia made her way to stand in front of her but Hakuno didn't feel any malice.
Nor did Parcae, so at the least this Pokemon wasn't malicious.
And they were a bit cute.
Hakuno crouched down as Cleffa began to make wild gestures with their stubs, "Clef, Cleffa, Fa, Fa!" The little Cleffa floated as it jumped onto her shoulder, with one of its stubs it held onto some of her hair gently while prodding Hakuno to move
"Huh, never seen one of them approach someone before…" Ranger Maiko shrugged, "Well kid, at least we'll be marked as invited…" She could feel Cleffa wipe her face on the neck of her jacket.
Gross. So gross.
Shroomish and the Riolu were still arguing it seemed and as the Riolu noticed the Cleffa hanging on Hakuno's shoulder the jackal Pokemon went slack jaw, "I think the Riolu wants to come with us." Ren muttered Hakuno had figured out a few things about the girl, and even with the darkness of the New Moon she could just feel the joy in seeing the one Pokemon she had been looking for.
"Alright, enough dawdling heal them up, and let's get moving!"
Turns out that teleporting a distance longer than a handful of feet with two people was way too much for her, she was still exhausted and felt the crushing pain in her mind made her think that maybe she shouldn't use the move for a few days. It hurts to even think.
But she has to think, if not then how else could she figure out the Lunar Child? Or even… what they are getting into. The whole reason she was able to teleport as far, to her knowledge, was because of the Lunar Child.
But seeing them up close was far different than she was expecting. She was normal. At least compared to the other humans she has seen which is… not a lot. But the real Rangers were on their way to save her family her kin and she just had to hope they were going to make it in time.
The attack started early, not long after she returned to their den her Mother was hit with a surge of Steel from the sky and nearly knocked out from the lone attack. Her Mother was able to stand strong only because of the coven's defenses but it still sent her sprawling on the ground.
The whole reason their coven was even able to fully fight back was because a Lucario, somehow sensed what was happening and fought like a rabid animal against the man and his Probopass and Sandslash alongside their Mother.
The man wore clothing the coven knew to be safe! He should have been good! He knew exactly how to bypass their trickery and he brought the right Pokemon to handle them, the Butterfree and Beedrill leaked their toxins and it devoured their defensive terrain. She saw her siblings get covered in toxic scales and couldn't do anything. She barely was able to flick a few splashes of Chilling Water against her sibling to wash off the poison but she knew it didn't help much.
But while she was helping her siblings into the back nursery, the Durant and Aggron were barely being held off by her three aunts and two uncles. Sadly, due to them not being Clefable, they could only just barely hold the two Pokemon off.
The Beedril, Butterfree, and Ekans were enjoying how they were falling back as Riolu, the brave little blue jackal, fought tooth and nail against the two flying foes and slithering snake who fired round and round of ranged moves, it was some sort of stalemate. Just barely.
That was until the strange Steel-Type appeared spewing out a noxious wave of toxin and smog covering their nursery in a plume of black smoke. Seeing that thing she wanted to get to safety, to run to hide and she grabbed the only Pokemon she could feel and pushed as hard as she could to the one person the Great Grandmother believed who would be able to turn the tides against anything.
But with the Lunar Child here, they surely will find a path to victory… Right?
Honestly, if Ranger Maiko didn't have a Stantler to carry them and the Honchcrow wasn't big enough to carry the two Rangers they would have not made it in time.
The Stantler kept turning its head to gaze at the little Cleffa who adamantly refused to get off Hakuno's shoulder which, to its credit, didn't stop it from trotting up the mountain in record time. Nomia was being held onto her chest causing the Smith to pout, which was a bit adorable but Ren's arms were crushing Hakuno's stomach.
Weaver had to be recalled as the Shroomish kept arguing with Riolu and the jackal growled when they tried to make them stay behind.
It was an absolute mess when they arrived at the location of the Clefairy coven.
The evidence of battle was clear with the gouges of earth tossed around, upturned trees, and blood-soaked rocks jutting into the side of the mountain.
But why were there no bodies?
Hakuno felt Ren's grip on her tighten to the point that she could've sworn her ribs creaked as the Stantler left them off almost enough to stop her from breathing, Hakuno hadn't been held this tightly since… Nope.
Don't think about her right now. Even if her being here would've made things far easier… and now she misses her… damn it she's been trying her best to not think about her Rose since she heard about this, she doesn't need clouded thoughts going into a possible life or death situation.
Hakuno switched gears as her mind raced back onto what Parcae analyzed from Cleffa, she needed to know if the Pokemon could at least help them.

Unknown Water Move
Unknown Fairy move(s?)
The Star Shape Pokémon: Said to have ridden here on a shooting star, Cleffa seems to appear in places where meteorites have struck in the past. When shooting stars rain from the night sky, Cleffa gathers in numbers and dances as though they are indeed incarnations of the stars.
"OK, you two stay around here and help the Pokemon we send to you ok? If they are too critical here," Ranger Ken handed her a handful of green Pokeballs, "Capture them in these and we will get them healed when we get to headquarters. I sent out a code red, reinforcements from Cianwood should be on their way."
Hakuno felt the winds shift and glanced just in time to see a ball of angry blue energy soar and explode violently in a dazzling display. The Riolu yelled as it took off dashing towards it, Ren looked back at her for a second as Hakuno nodded to her to get going, the brunette flashed a nervous smile before Tops and her ran after them.
"Don't… damn it." Ken scratched the back of his head, "Kishinami stay here and don't run off. Come on Maiko let's save the idiot."
Maiko nodded, "Stantler keep an eye on her."
The Stantler huffed in agreement with his Trainer while the two Rangers ran off the same way that Ren did while Hakuno let down the two little fairies.
"Nomia. This is not the time to be the hero." Hakuno made sure to keep an eye out, "We don't know-" A rustling in the bushes came as the Murder of Murcrow, which she could barely make out in the darkness of the night, was firing off streams of condensed air at an opposing cloud of Zubats led by an overly large Golbat.
"Clef! Cleffffa!" The Clefa shook its cute tiny body before pointing at itself causing Hakuno to frown, it was hard enough for Hakuno to understand Nomia but a brand new Pokemon was impossible for her.
"Tinkatink," Nomia placed her hammer on the ground and began speaking loudly at the other fairy-type… The two argued for a few moments before Cleffa began to point down a small crevice and slipped inside. If Hakuno squeezed she could probably fit through it, it would be a tight fit but at least she wasn't afraid of tight caverns…
Probably.
"Stantler, can you keep an eye on our back?" Stantler's antlers were too wide to fit though and she didn't have the Pokemon's ball. The Pokemon's eyes glistened purple and had a strange look on its deer-like face before nodding, "We won't be long?"
Stantler huffed in response before a streak of brown smashed into him. Shaking his head a burst of psychic energy surrounded the Sandslash barely containing it.
Hakuno didn't really want to go through the small crack, but it might be safer for sure now! Nomia wasn't strong enough to handle a fully evolved Pokemon, especially one that could easily break out of a Ranger's Pokemon's psychic hold.
Hakuno took a step into the crack barely dodging a spike fired from the brown mouse Pokemon before she tugged realizing her backpack was impaled into the stone, she flipped it open and grabbed the herbal medicine before slipping into the crack.
"Nomia stay close." The tunnel was a tight fit but she managed to squeeze her way in, and the cooing of Cleffa and the fact that it seemingly was a straight path away from the bloodthirsty Sandslash and the only combat she could hear was mainly outside was all that mattered.
Hakuno theorized that this was a backway into the Clefairy Caves, if the combat was happening more at the mouth of the caves where the fighting would be most brutal then the back was where the young could be…
Hakuno admittedly didn't know a lot of things, she was only a few months old after all, but "Nomia Metal Claw the Butterfree!" She knew the sight of battle.
More so what looked to be a losing battle.
It didn't take long for Hakuno to get to the main section of the cave, admittedly she barely fit in some parts but it didn't matter, the room she stumbled upon with Nomia and Cleffa held five imprisoned Cleffa and a lone Clefairy still fighting back.
Nomia's dash was interrupted by an Ekans but obeying her command the Metalsmith pounced onto the snake using its head as a launching point and smashed her rattle into the Butterfree's head knocking it to the ground.
Cleffa leaped to defend her from the Ekans, the little Fairy Type was shaking like a leaf but a burst of water knocked the snake's head back. "Nomia break them out! Cleffa keep using Water gun!" At least she thought it was Water Gun, it wasn't important for now.
Ekans hissed in response before firing off a spray of poisonous needles that required her to dodge. The Snake Pokemon was mostly ignoring the bursts of water from the Star Pokemon.
Nomia hefted her hammer and with its steely aura smashed against the lock causing bursts of electricity to zap her. But she kept going.
The Clefairy that was barely holding off the Beedril seemed emboldened by them as it blasted the Beedril back… unfortunately, it caused it to start to fly towards them.
Hakuno threw the bitter medicine in her hand towards the snake's head, causing it to flinch back in surprise as the Cleffa's water gun sprayed against the incoming Beedril before the lone Clefairy wagged its finger causing an electrical surge to spring up underneath them.
The electricity crackled around them but didn't seem to hurt, "Clefffa!" The Beedril had flickered and slammed its needles into the small Pokemon causing a slick wound oozing purple. Hakuno rummaged in her pockets before finding the antidote and spraying it on her as the Clefairy wagged a finger before… nothing happened allowing the retreating Ekans to latch its fangs into the Pokemon.
"Clefairrrry!" The Pokemon cried out as the fangs sunk in deeper, little Cleffa roared its name causing visible shockwaves that pushed the snake off her kin. Nomia was still smashing at the lock on the cage before…
Crack.
Nomia's hammer broke.
Luckily so did the lock.
The Cleffa bounded out of the cage, emboldened by being free, and began to shriek. Waves of pink shock waves came from their voices towards the Beedrill as it deftly dodged the fairy (?) move. But all the noise was causing the Butterfree to stir.
"Nomia pounce onto the Butterfree! Fairy Wind!" She was limited in what she could do without her hammer but the small gust of wind erupting from her hands slammed into the overgrown butterfly.
Parcae flew into her face as a dozen poisonous needles harmless bounced off its body.
"Cleffas use water gun on the Beedril!" The only one that actually listened to her was the one that found them either that or the others didn't know the move. The water gun soaked into the Beedrill and caused its wings to flutter just a bit slower as the Clefairy-
Crack
A purple snake slammed into the overgrown bee knocking the two into the wall. Where did that even come from?
Hakuno's eyes flickered towards the Clefairy who was leaning against the wall in pain with a smirk on its adorable face. Hakuno let out a small sigh of relief as all the 'Poacher' Pokemon seemed to be out of commission for the moment. She quickly passed some Energy and Heal powder to the Fairy Pokemon that surrounded her.
The medicine was well received but she noticed the Pokemon's grimace as they took it. The Potions were still in her bag, which was mostly likely either destroyed or at the least out of commission for now, so they would have to suffer with the extremely bitter and foul-smelling medicine.
"Alright… what should we do now…" The Pokemon were safe but the Poacher's main team could come at any time… "Everyone get in these, Nomia explain what they are and who we are." Out of Hakuno's sleeve came the Park Balls that the Rangers handed her, "I'll make sure you get out of here safely."
"Clefairy." The Pink Pokemon nodded, before pointing at the entrance to the room, "Fairy."
That caused a visible reaction from the Cleffas they shook their head/body and began arguing amongst themselves, rapidly pointing at the entrance towards her and the Clefairy, but what she knew it was towards the actual fighting happening at what she presumed to be the mouth of the cave.
Well… that's going to be a problem then…
"Tops, use Tripple Axel! Weaver Ingrain and Spore it up!" The battle was chaotic and wild.
Lucario was already dead when they got there and Riolu's howling was terrifying.
The burst of blue that led them to where the 'main' fight was happening was its final moments taking down a Steelix from the remains of the tail. An Alolan Ratticate dodged effortlessly against the crying Riolu as Weave sunk its roots into the ground.
Tops was fighting off a behemoth of an Aggron alongside two Clefairy, his spinning and repeatedly pushing the Pokemon off balance just slightly was enough for the two Fairy-Types to blast them with fire.
The two Rangers were fighting Poacher Andrew who was using a Probopass and some strange psychic type, Ken's Honchrow was doing its best to play support with Maiko's Crawdaunt but was being countered by the two Pokemon's expert control.
A lone Clefable was knocked out and she was standing guard in front of it as the Ratticate was doing its best to sink its fangs into the fully evolved Fairy to probably use as a bargaining chip. Weaver had spread its spores as fast and as far as he could, but the nimble Pokemon was not paralyzed yet.
The battlefield was so chaotic that she barely noticed the coming of claws as a Sandslash whipped its nails right where her waist would have been a moment ago as she dodged closer to the mountain, her back was now practically resting against the stone wall as she took a moment to figure out the Mouse Pokemon. Its claws were dripping with blood as it went for her again and her Weaver fired a burst of seeds toward the Pokemon causing it to growl. Two Fully evolved Pokemon with two unevolved Pokemon was… not going to be an easy fight.
"Weaver keep firing!" Bullet seed was a move they didn't use often but lacing it with his spores was something they had practiced a long time ago that hopefully he still remembered.
"Rioluuu!" The fighting type shrieked as it threw the now paralyzed Alolan Ratticate off the cliff with Circle Throw. Well, one problem is gone, for now, she knew Ratticate was good at surviving falls so it should be fine, hopefully just knocked out.
Riolu was still in a frenzied state and clearly exhausted but was hopefully going to aid her against the Sandslash.
She felt cold metal against her skin causing the battle to freeze. Barely moving her eyes she saw a
"Alright, good job Durant." Andrew's voice came out calm and only slightly out of breath. "Now Ken, Maiko why don't we talk about this like adults? Let me leave with the Clefairy and we can all pretend this didn't happen. Or else my little Durant might feel a bit snippy."
He was using her as a bargaining chip.
She had cost them the mission.
She had screwed up in coming here.
But then she heard it.
A deep rumbling from the cave, almost a sort of… chanting?
Metronome was an interesting move Hakuno quickly found out. Their normal attacks wouldn't let them help the crazed outside, so they would have to rely on a gambling move.
Metronome could do a lot of different things, from causing the Pokemon to bounce around to firing lasers apparently, however, Cleffa couldn't wield the power.
But they could copy it.
Clefairy bravely ate Leppa berry after Leppa berry just out of sight of the cavern's entrance before they found a move that could at least possibly turn the tide that the little ones could copy. It was outrageous, it was stupid of them to go out, but.
The little ones needed to make sure their parents were safe, and Hakuno couldn't convince them to go into the balls without it.
"Chance of victory… Seventy Percent… Trainer Hakuno good luck."
Dragon Rage was another interesting move, one made of pure draconic-type energy that couldn't hurt a single Fey, and almost always dealt 'fixed' damage to the opponent and was used as a building block for stronger Dragon moves. It couldn't do much damage but it would hurt even the strongest of steel-types with the same force as the weakest of bugs.
It also didn't require the user to aim well just in a vague direction and didn't care about how 'good' you were at the move.
And when you had six Cleffa all using the same move?
Well, it was enough to push an Aggron off the side of a mountain.
Hakuno led the little ones as they fired another burst of Draconic might at their opponents who were as gobsmacked as the Rangers were.
"Kishinami!?" Ranger Ken shouted as Hakuno heard the sound of metal cutting through the wind and a blinding light was coming from the wall as a Breloom stood holding Ren.
"Shit." The presumed Andrew cursed, "Well, didn't wanna do this…" he said as he pulled out a lone Pokeball, "Come on out… Tyranitar."
Author's Notes: Well boom.
Hakuno "I won't do stupid stuff."
Proceeds to do stupid stuff out of necessity.
Anyway, Hakuno with a rag-tag bunch of fairies, two tired Rangers, and a Gym trainer vs a dude with a Tyranitar, a Probopass, a hungry Sandslash, and a Beheeyem. The next chapter will finish this little escapade which might be late as I have even more hours of work now!
See ya next time!
