Loona walked along the street with Balin still in her arms, a little shook up from the hold-up by her old enemy from the orphanage and his gang of loan-sharks from the Greed ring.
As she stroked his back for comfort and whispered sweet nothings to him, while there was no-one around, Balin yawned and loosened his grip on her. Those sweet nothings reminded him of his mommy's affection back home, with sayings such as:
'It's gonna be OK' or 'I'll always be here, I promise'
It was impressive to Loona of how she was able to nail all two sayings, even if she still had her standards around other children, especially ones she carried in her arms in front of people, let alone other demons.
"C-Can I walk now, Loona?" asked Balin.
"Don't need my permission, little dude." she replied, putting him down. "Just remember, stay close."
With the boy then hanging onto her leg as they walked, the two soon arrived at the coffee shop.
'Fire & Brimstone's Diner'
The building outside had a 1960s-style exterior while the inside looked like most modern cafes nowadays, with fancy tilings and cushions on the chairs up against the wall. It was filled with smooth jazz music, the smell of toast and cakes were everywhere, and demons of all kinds were sitting and chatting.
This cafe was owned by a gay couple of sinner demons whom it was named after AND who Loona and Balin walked up to by no coincidence.
Fire was a chihuahua-like hellhound with literally flaming red hair, and Brimstone was a lean imp with glasses and bagpipe-checkered tattoos all over his arms, as if he died during the battle of Braveheart.
"...And what'll it be this morning?" greeted Brimstone cheerfully.
"I'll just grab myself a flat white." replied Loona as she held up her phone, as usual, but ready to pay.
As Loona paid, Brimstone ripped up the receipt from the register and handed it to Fire as he waltzed past him with a board with small plates, like a fancy restaurant.
Fire soon noticed Balin hiding behind Loona's leg and nervously keeping alert. "Well, hello there. How are you this fine day?" he friendly asked looking down at him.
The boy stuttered as he hid behind Loona's leg more, which made her look at him from her phone. To Loona, the boy was rather adorable when shy. He was 7-years-old after all, and human, but thankfully, Fire nor Brimstone didn't know that.
"It's okay, buddy. These two can be trusted." she smiled, softly rubbing his head. "You see them?"
Loona then pointed the boy to the scenery of the cafe, which included the demon customers socialising and laughing, watching TV, even though a couple of them acted like absolute perverts to the waitresses.
It may have been like normal cafes in the human world, but to Balin, this now seemed like a gateway from all of the worries and strife in Hell. So he bravely stood out from Loona's leg, surprising her a little bit.
"I-I'm, I'm doing good today." he said in a kind smile. "Thanks for asking."
"Aww, what a nice little guy you are." Brimstone said, extending his hand in friendship. "What's your name, champ?"
Balin looked at Loona who gave him an accepting nod, before he shook the imp's beefy hand. "I'm Balin, sir."
"Balin? I like it." Fire showed an intrigued smile too. "Nice name for such a nice kid."
Soon, one of the baristas handed Brimstone the flat white, before he handed it to the female hellhound then spoke to Balin again.
"And for you, Mr. Balin." he gave the boy a lemonade and rubbed his hair, making him flattered by the affection.
"See you two, later!" waved Balin as he held Loona's hand out of the cafe.
A few steps away, Loona chugged her entire cup of coffee down before she lead the boy down an alley. She took a few sniffs for any demons that could be close by to see Balin was a human or try to have sex with her. Aside from the foul stench of garbage, there luckily wasn't a smell of any demons around.
So she grabbed the boy's lemonade for a moment, and poured some onto her hands to wash the make-up off of him.
"I knew he'd give you that one as a treat." she muttered with a smirk. "I had to clean your face up anyway."
"Why not with the coffee?" asked the boy.
"What? Nah. You wouldn't just have no more make-up on your face." laughed Loona as she finished up. "It's too hot for that. And besides, kiddos can't drink coffee."
"Oh yeah. I forgot about that." said Balin in realisation.
Loona giggled once again loving his innocence, and then with the saliva-activated Asmodean crystal in her hand, she closed her eyes, gave it a lick, and a portal opened to the same place as last time's visit to his hometown.
"WOW!" the boy's eyes were sparkling, his mind was blown.
"Wait 'til he sees what I can do." Loona chuckled in her head showing a smug look.
With a deep breath, and ready to see his home world again for a little while, Balin held Loona's hand as the two walked through the portal to the No-Name Town park.
"So, this is what it's like during a day in Australia?" she asked him, clearly not surprised with her coat keeping her warm. "Much chillier than I was told."
"Because it's Winter here at the moment." replied Balin.
"I see. So probably best you keep that wolf coat on. Don't want ya freezing to death on me now." she teased him with a cheek pinch, trying not to scratch him as he giggled. "Or maybe... would you like to snuggle up to my fur all through town...?"
"No, it's okay! I-I can manage with this thing." stuttered a flustered Balin. "I mean, what would people think if I was walking with the biggest doggy in the world? They'll think you're a werewolf."
"Don't panic, kid." chuckled Loona. "I've got that covered."
She began memorising a little hellhound spell of hers, and soon, blue flames appeared all around Loona. This made Balin worried and try to help her before he saw her pointy ears fade away.
As the rest of her hellhound form faded in the flames, they ended in a wolf's bark to reveal... Loona's human disguise!
She had half of her hair covering one eye as usual, which made her bald on one side of her head, she had skin less paler than a vampire's, but other than those and the shoes covering her big feet, she still had her glowing red eyes and regular clothing. Including her fingerless gloves and leggings.
"So, whaddya think?" she asked with a smile, soon to see him with his jaw dropped and his body frozen.
"L-L-L-Loona?!" Balin stuttered in surprise at the disguise, like he did not see that coming.
Loona then chuckled at the little boy's flustered face and picked him up in her arms, holding him like a baby to tease him out of his shock.
"I take it you like my disguise? Lover-boy?" she growled playfully in his ear, causing him to giggle as if it tickled. "So, you gonna answer my question? What do, you think?"
"I think you look beautiful, Loona." smiled Balin, speaking as kindly as he could. "You look hot, I will admit, but you're as beautiful as always."
Hearing that was a first for Loona. Now it was her turn to have something she didn't expect: being told how beautiful or cool she was. Normally when men complimented her, it was only because of her body, like with any other hot woman around. But she smiled knowing someone liked her for who she was, so she stopped cradling Balin and instead squeezed him tightly in a hug.
"Thanks Balin." she said lovingly. "You really are the sweetest little boy I've ever met, aren't ya?" she then gave him a long kiss on the cheek.
Soon, they broke the hug, and the two humans (one disguised) walked up the hill by the park to begin exploring.
"So, where's our start for this day-off tour?" she asked the boy.
"Well..." grinned Balin. "Welcome to No-Name Town, Loona."
Balin then showed her the entire view of the city from the hill, and while it wasn't the biggest like he always dreamt of, but it was his home. One that Loona was in awe of looking at, since it looked so much darker in the night lights.
MONTAGE:
FIRST ACTIVITY
Balin showed Loona around the town mall, and despite some hassles from some strong young men passing by, she was still enthralled by all the shops she looked at. Mainly clothing stores.
She grabbed Balin's hand and ran into one of them with him, trying on some clothes of her own and possibly trying to find the boy some clothes to bring home. Whenever she picked the right ones, and he looked dashing in them, Loona would give him a gentle head ruffle as confirmation.
SECOND ACTIVITY
Balin soon showed Loona his favourite video stores, where they borrowed a few DVDs to watch, as well as a monthly store magazine; like he did every month with his parents.
Loona paid for the DVDs with more of her money, in cash this time, before they left with a bag of DVDs.
THIRD ACTIVITY
He then took her to a bowling alley where they both competed in a game of bowls together, seeing who could knock down the most pins in this one round.
Loona was so impressed by what hooks he actually had, she pulled out her phone to record him. While she missed one strike, she still recorded him getting the double strike in the game, making him cheer himself on and even do a little victory dance.
"Go Balin! Go Balin!" cheered Loona playfully. Normally, she'd be a sore loser at this type of game with the I.M.P gang because of how much stronger thus competitive she was at it.
After the dance, Loona had her turns at the game, and she soon got three strikes right at the end, which resulted in a tie between them with her finishing one number above him.
Turning around to see him clapping for her, Loona then knelt down and gave him a hug with a kiss on the forehead. A couple sitting nearby even noticed it.
"Aww, Sheila. Do you reckon you'll be a good mother one day?" the boyfriend asked her.
"Babe, we're not even married yet." chuckled the girlfriend before showing an anxiously toothy smile. "...Are you sure you wanna plan our divorce right now?"
A FEW MOMENTS LATER...
Balin and Loona were now walking along the rest of the Main Street, holding each other's hands as people stopped and awed at the beautiful mother & son relationship they had with her at 22-years-old.
She didn't mind what they thought of her though, unless they were those young adult males that tried to look in between her breasts.
"Thanks for the great day so far, sweetie." she whispered to him until she heard her tummy grumble. "Well, think it's time we got ourselves some lunch or something, huh kiddo?"
"Ooh, yes please." nodded the boy happily. "And... Loona?"
"Yeah, buddy?"
"Can I show you... my house before we go home?" he asked her.
"You mean, the house you used to live in before...?" Loona was rather intrigued to hear the little boy ask her that.
"Yeah. I reckon it'd be a great last stop." he explained.
She then showed a worried expression on her face. "Okay. But only if you're sure, because it's not gonna be easy. And I don't like seeing you sad, okay?"
"Me neither." sighed Balin, knowing she was right and showing her a small smile. "But I'm brave, aren't I?"
"Just I've said you are." Loona smiled back rubbing his back.
"So, can we grab some Macca's for lunch before we go there?"
"Macca's?" asked Loona tilting her head.
"Oh right. From Hell." whispered Balin. "It's what we call McDonald's here. There's one right next to my house."
Loona the stood on her two feet and whistling for a taxi. Then, a nearby cab pulled up to the curb where Loona and Balin were standing, and the boy gave her a 'ladies first' gesture.
"Okay. McDonald's, it is!" she replied to Balin, by calling out to the taxi driver as she hopped in and buckled up.
As the cab left the curb and started driving from the Main Street, Loona wrapped her arm around Balin's neck and nuzzled her head onto his while he snuggled up to her upper human body.
10 minutes later, they arrived at the McDonald's close to his home, which still had it's Golden Arches on the outside.
The driver, who looked around 79 years old, then looked through the rear vision mirror to see the two snuggling up to each other in the passengers' seats. He smiled, clearly loving this beautiful bond with the young adult and little boy, but knew he had to wake them up.
So with a tap of the tempered glass in between the three, he managed to wake them both up with Loona bearing her sharp teeth as she yawned.
Even in her human form, she still had her razor-sharp teeth and the driver immediately noticed it. Thankfully he decided to keep it to himself, chuckling it off nervously.
Balin then got out of the car as Loona tipped him before it drove off, and soon held one hand while she played with her phone in the other as they entered.
Funnily enough, only a small amount of people were eating at this restaurant.
A surprising sight for Balin since he usually walked down to find the place was packed, but a piece of cake for Loona, since it didn't have a lot of men to peak at her ass, breasts, or any other part of her body.
To those kinds of people, she was like Medusa. Sexy one minute, shit-scary the next. If Loona saw any men looking at her funny, her angry expressions would make them wish to be turned to stone rather than torn apart moments later.
But with Balin by her side, she somehow felt protected. One guy whistled past her, she just decided to shrug it off and say 'no' as he then walked off. A punch in the face would've made her feel better, but deep down, she really didn't wanna harm the boy than she already did.
Perhaps it was... instinct.
All that aside, the two found a small booth for them to sit in and take the orders, looking at the paper menus.
"OK, kid. What'll it be?" she asked him.
"Can I have a chicken 'n' cheese burger, please?" Balin then asked politely, having decided like he was speaking at the cash register.
"But of course." replied Loona, as she soon stood back up. "Just wait here, I'll be back with both our meals."
"What are you gonna have, Loona?" the boy asked as she was about to leave.
"Hmm... how about... a McHUMAN!"
She then sat back down, pulled up his stripped t-shirt, and started giving him affectionate noms on his tummy.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" this got him laughing right away.
"No, I'll just get myself a salad." panted Loona in a chuckle after the tickling.
"A salad?" Surprised, Balin looked up at her with a mind-blown look. "Do you eat veggies too?"
"Well, kinda. Why?"
"I assumed, since you were a... hellhound, that you'd be a meat eater." he softly spoke as to not reveal her secret.
"True. But you do know I eat Nutella too, right? And it's chocolate, so basically, we can eat anything other than meat." she explained, patting his hair. "Besides, still not a wolf. So don't worry about me."
"I know, I know." chuckled the kid in response.
Loona soon left the table, telling him to not leave or talk to any strangers as she ordered at the nearby kiosk.
She placed the order in, paid for it with her phone, and then stood next to one of the bins to wait.
But a few minutes into the wait, ... Loona heard somebody in the restaurant singing. Quietly but beautifully.
There wasn't a lot of people in the dining room, but she quickly perked up her hellhound ears to pick up where the singing was coming from. It wasn't any of the customers, nor Balin. So she assumed it had to be one of the kitchen staff.
Slowly peaking over the pick-up area, Loona then saw it came from a young man who was bagging the meals, looked like he was in his early 20s, and had black hair with blue frosted tips underneath his work-hat.
"Should I try to hide... the way I feel inside... my heart, for you..." he sang 'The Way I Feel Inside' delicately. "Would you say, that you... would try to love me too..."
Hearing that voice coming from him, Loona's hound ears poofed out of sight, in slight impression.
