Another day at I.M.P = Another day of murder, mayhem, possibly a kink or two.
As for Balin, after handing Charlie's book on Hell back to Moxxie, he was now in the meeting room doing some drawings of his own 'Imagination Castle' rooms to keep himself amused.
Meanwhile, Loona read her latest edition of Hellhound Monthly as Blitzø soon whistled into the room, secretly giving her the cue to open a portal for M&M with a stroke of the Asmodean crystal. The two were all bloody after dealing with a solo mission on Earth.
"Ahh. Gotta tell you hon, that was so much better than the last mission we went on." sighed Moxxie with a chuckle.
Millie however was still pumped up. "I! Am! So! Fuckin' JAZZED!" she growled.
"Mills... pay-up." said Loona sternly.
"Hehehehe. Sorry Loona." giggled Millie, as she put a penny into the quarter-full swear jar.
Surprisingly, the imps were getting cleaner with their language problem since meeting Balin.
"Is the little guy around? I wanna say hi to the puppy." the tomboy demon begged in excitement, wagging her demon tail.
"Clean first, then say hi." replied Loona flatly.
In her excitement, Millie then grabbed her bottle of protein shake and poured it on her to get rid of the blood, before getting on all fours to shake off the shake like a dog. Or like Loona. Seeing that made her groan not only feeling annoyed but offended too.
All clean, Millie then opened the door to the board room to see Balin doing his doodling.
"Oh, Balin...!" she sang as she crept up to him.
"Aunty Millie!" he then ran from the table to give her a big hug.
"Dd you miss me while I was gone, lil' one?" she giggled, rubbing her nose against his. "I bet you did."
The two then began playing around with each other. As Balin tilted his smiling little head to one side, Millie would tilt her head that way, which lasted six seconds before he snuck a little kiss on her cheek.
"A kiss on the cheek? For me? Ohh." she cooed. "My turn!"
She began landing multiple kisses on his entire face saying'Mwah!'on purpose, making the affection look like a woodpecker with a tree as he laughed.
Loona picked up the laughter with her hearing and showed a small magazine as she lifted the magazine toward her face.
Soon, Millie sat down at his seat with him on her lap as she saw his drawings over his shoulder.
"Are those your little paintings there, moon-pie?" she asked him.
Balin nodded and showed her one of them, which was a French fry forest hotel-room with an ice-cream swimming pool and a bed made out of a Wonka chocolate bar.
She scrolled through the rest of the pages before landing on one that made her go...
"Awww." she smiled. "You're a dang-good artist, Balin."
"Thank you Millie." smiled Balin in return as he whispered"But don't tell you-know-who about this one yet."
"You know who can hear you..." sang Loona as she walked into the board room, as she saw the drawing. "These drawings are so good, kiddo."
"Thank you." said Balin with an innocent smile. "But I'm not done with this one yet." he then grabbed the one piece of paper in particular and hid it behind his back. "It's a surprise."
"Well, can't wait to see it."
"Neither can I, donut." Millie spoke, rubbing his hair.
"So how was your missing?" he then asked her.
"Meh, you know, boring as usual." she lied, winking to Loona. "Because seeing your little human face is the most fun part of the day."
The boy's cheeks then responded by getting redder with every time Millie adored him.
"Damn, Millie. You're gonna make him blush to a crisp." joked Loona, slightly ruffling her hair. "But if you've got nothing 'round here to do, what else is there?"
"I dunno." shrugged Millie before looking to the kid. "Balin?"
"Hmm... why don't we play a game?" he asked the two girls.
"What kind?" asked Loona next.
"Maybe, hide-and-seek?"
Loona and Millie looked at each other, nodding her head fast at the idea, while Millie nodded even faster.
"Alrighty then." the tomboy demon said.
"Sweet!" said Balin happily.
Millie then grabbed the piece of paper from behind the boy's back. "Here. I'll put this on the table right here."
"I promise I won't look." grinned Loona, booping his nose.
Soon, as she put her magazine on the pile of papers, Loona then came up with a game of her own and grinned more.
"Hmm... I have a better idea." she spoke softly to him. "How about... Prey and Go Predator?"
"Prey and Go Predator?" Balin and Millie said, playfully looking at each other.
"That sounds like fun, Loona!" Balin then smiled before Millie giggled.
"Oh, you like that, huh?" Loona then smirked cheekily at the boy. "You seem to have taken a liking to me eating you up, haven't you?"
"Hehehehe, maybe a little."
"How's it played, Loona?" asked Millie with excitement.
"Like hide-and-seek. But my own... tail-spin" explained Loona briefly to her, tickling the kid's face with the tip of her tail. "It's a game where you get a chance to hide before I hunt you down and devour you. Sound cool, kiddo?"
"Yes, Loona. I love it!" exclaimed Balin.
"OK, then it's settled. You try to find a neck of the woods to hide in while I count from ten." grinned the hellhound. "And I won't use my nose for this game. *much*" she then let out an evil giggle, like she was crossing her claws behind her back, before speaking more seriously. "Just make sure you find one hiding place in this building only. Whether it's the office or another floor, that's the one rule of the game."
"That, and Verosika's office is off-limits." added Millie. "Blitzø's still a little weird about it."
"He always is weird, Grandma." replied Loona with a smirk at her.
"Yes, ladies!" saluted Balin like a soldier, understanding those rules as the two female demons laughed at his innocence.
"Alright, now you better find a good hiding spot." Loona then sang to Balin with the smirk. "Because if the big bad hellhound catches you, you'll be in for one hell of a surprise."
"Oh no." Balin playfully said, as a laughing Loona looking at the whiteboard to cover her gaze.
Balin then ran out of the board room and into the office hallways, as Moxxie and Blitzø looking in wonder.
"Mills! What's going on in there?" asked Blitzø, before gasping in realisation. "Is the kid and Loonie playing hide-and-seek?!"
"Sorta!" she replied.
"Can we please play along too?!" Blitzø then ran up to Loonie begging like a kid, making her groan. "A little father and daughter bonding time!"
Moxxie soon walked into the board room and said: "I don't know sir, I'm supposed to be filling out paperwork and everything."
"Aww, c'mon Fatty. If it's what the kids want." Blitzø tried to motivate him.
"Eh, I guess time flies when you have paperwork." shrugged the white-haired imp. "I was planning on walking out of it, anyway."
The eccentric boss' smile went from excited to a slightly blank shock. "Now wait a minute..." he was about to say before Loona interrupted him.
"Whatever! Fine! I'll start counting now, if he grows up." Loona then faced the wall as the three imps then ran out to find a place to hide, before she smirked again. "Counting to 1000. Hehehehe."
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2..."
As Balin ran out of the I.M.P office, he pressed one of the elevator buttons before hiding in another room as the doors opened.
"ONE!" Loona finished her counting with a scary smile, unsheathing her sharp claws and teeth like blades. "Ready or not! Here I hunt..." she snarled with that smile.
She walked out of the board room and started searching around the office.
"I wonder if there's any prey out here today." she said out loud to herself. "Hmm... I did pick up a little something earlier. I must find it and eat it for dinner."
Secretly though, Loona was only playing with Balin. She was just giving Blitzø and the imps what they wanted to hear.
Loona then got on all fours and began sniffing all around the office like a bloodhound in circles.
First, she searched and sniffed behind the couch, then her reception desk, then soon decided to search around Blitzø's office.
"Anyone in here...?" asked Loona as she slowly peaked through the office to find it was empty.
Taking a sniff of the place, she knew Blitzø was in there. She could hear Blitzø giggling behind the desk from the suspense and recognised the scent of My Little Pony perfume from anywhere.
"Huh. Guess no-one's in here." said Loona, still having fun anyways and leaving the office. "Where else could ya be hiding?"
Blitzø then heard the door to his office shut and sighed in a somewhat dumb relief that she left.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are..."
Loona walked out of the office still on all fours as she was now searching for Balin. She sniffed the doors and walls to Verosika's office, knowing she'd pick up M&M's scent there, before pressing on.
Her mind still set on hunting just him, Loona crawled up to the elevator and caught a quick scent of his fingerprint on one of the elevator buttons and assumed correctly he pressed it to fool her. So with a flick of her tail, she pressed another random one to throw him off too.
Balin was actually hiding in another room, which felt like another hallway full of doors leading to different rooms.
So when he heard Loona flick the elevator buttons, he ran into one of those rooms as fast as he could, just in case. But hiding in any of them was no use, as Loona full well he was in there thanks to her sensitive hearing.
She had picked up his scent way before she started the playful hunt anyways.
Balin hid under a desk in that random work room with an old TV set and a flickering light, trying to remain as quiet as possible if Loona were to search there.
Soon, he heard paw-steps from the corridor, mixed with a little sniffing. He actually wasn't surprised she didn't take the lift AND that she used her nose like she said she wouldn't.
"Loona: hungry. Loona: eat!" she whispered in a monstrous growl.
Loona sniffed all through the hallway, unsheathing her sharp claws more with every step, searching through every door as a way of playing along.
After a few doors, she eventually made it to the room where Balin was hiding in and started growling with the evil smile still on her face.
Walking into the room by opening the door with her muzzle, Loona peaked under the desk Balin was hiding, and the boy closed his eyes hoping she couldn't see him in the dark.
She did, actually, but decided to leave it for a big finale.
So she crawled back out of the room, shut it with her tail, and hid behind the sofa next to the TV set to give Balin the foolish opportunity to escape.
Hearing that, the boy then stood up from the desk and stretched with a deep breath, and just as he was ready to get out alive, he saw Loona crouching from behind the couch and ran out as she pounced.
Balin then shut the door to bide him some running time, before Loona burst out of the room barking on all fours.
"GET BACK HERE, LITTLE PREY!" she cackled evilly.
Loona chased him as he ran around the floors downstairs, and once he was able to throw her off at the second floor down, Balin ran all the way back upstairs all with the hellhound still chasing him.
Vortex then walked out of Verosika's office with Moxxie and Millie seeing Balin as he ran and hid back in the I.M.P office, before seeing Loona chase after him then skid to a stop seeing the three.
"Vortex?" Loona said out loud, now flushed with the tip of her tail wagging.
'Yo, w'sup Lunes?' he said.
"Ah you know, like I said, nothin' much." she panted, playing with her hair.
"Really? Because I just saw our little dude running about like he just saw something."
"Yeah! We're just playing hide-and-seek. No big deal." Loona tried to sound casual, with Tex rolling his eyes in laughter. "Okay, so I added my own full-moon edge to the game."
"Oh, I see. Must sound like a lotta fun." chuckled Tex.
"So far, it... it actually is."
Hearing that. Tex soon got a naughty idea too. He whispered the plan to Loona, which made her wink with a thimbs-up before hiding in the opposite direction that Balin went.
"Alright, Balin! It's safe to come out!" called Tex from the hallway. "I just sent Loona into another office!"
Balin then walked out of the I.M.P office quietly giggling in relief, until...
"Psych, lil' man!"
"WHAT?!" the little boy exclaimed.
Just then, Loona pounced on him and pinned him down by his arms, all gently as to not hurt him.
"Gotcha!" she cackled.
Loona then howled at the light-bulb like it was a moon, pretending to dominate the little boy as her prey.
"My... my... a delicious little human." she snarled seductively.
She began circling around him, sniffing him like a real predator examining their meal.
"What to do with it now." she said to Tex playfully. "Should I EAT IT?! Should I... maul it to death? Rip it apart? Feast on its body? Play with its bones...?"
"Ah no! Please don't eat me, Ms. Hellhound!" shouted Balin playing along too.
"Aha! I think I have the perfect punishment for getting caught by me." Loona spoke again.
She licked her lips and growled again as Balin shut his eyes, preparing for the inevitably fake.
Next thing he knew, Loona crouched on her hind legs and gently picked up the little human boy with her paws.
"Hugs..." she gave him a gentle hug and a nuzzle. "Kisses..." she planted a soft kiss on each cheek. "And... face licks!" Loona started licking Balin's face repeatedly, making him laugh and squirm.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! L-Loona! Pfft! Y-You're, licking me!" he laughed. "HAHAHAHAHAHA! Stop, it t-t-tickles!"
"Shush you." Loona playfully pouted, as she pinned him to the ground again and licked his face even faster. "I'm not done eating you yet."
Tex tried his hardest to only let out a few chuckles, while the three imps all came out laughing as they witnessed this.
"Well, looks like someone won." chuckled Blitzø. "Fair and square!"
Soon, Loona stopped licking Balin's face and stood up on her two hind legs.
"Here ya go, lover-baby." giggled Millie as she gave him a towel to wipe his face.
"Not bad, kiddo." said Loona. "Hiding from me is futile, but you still run away from me as fast as we first met."
"Yeah. That was definitely awesome." Tex smiled.
Loona then looked at the male hellhound giving the boy a head ruffle and took a deep breath, thinking of an idea.
"You know what, kiddo?" she bravely said. "Consider that your marking, because Tex... I made my decision on tonight's party you invited me to."
"Yeah?"
"I'd love to bring him over." she continued. "I suppose Bee could be honoured to meet a little human such as this one."
"Who's Bee?" asked Balin.
"Oh, she's Tex's... girlfriend." she replied.
Somewhere in Loona's tone, there was a hint of acceptance, making her blush knowing that she never felt that way before, not even outside of Tex's company.
"That's if you'd like to meet her." she continued speaking to the kid. "Would ya like that, kid?"
"Uhm... sure." shrugged Balin as his answer.
"Oooh, Moxxie! Our little human's first hound party!" squealed Millie.
"Hound party?" Hearing that all of a sudden made Balin nervous. "Are there other scary doggies at this party?"
"Yeah, but it'll be okay." smiled Loona.
"We'll make sure none of them will eat you up." added Tex.
"And as insurance, whatever the hell that is, we'd like to tag along too, Tex." offered Blitzø.
"Oh-ho-ho, Blitzø, you don't have to do that!" said Loona quickly and awkwardly.
"C'mon Loona, he could use some other protection just in case." Tex assured her.
Loona then sighed, feeling annoyed in her mind about this, but still wanted what was best for her new human companion.
"When you're right, you're right Tex." she then sighed again. "Count us all in."
"Got it." the male hellhound then gave her a fist-pump, while the three imps cheered Anchorman-style.
"Tex? Where the hell you at?" Verosika shouted from the other office.
"Well, see ya's in a few hours." smiled Tex as walked out of the office. "Gotta get back to V."
As the imps waved, Blitzø then leaned in close to Loona. "So... Loonie, I really thought you had me when you searched my office." he chuckled.
"Yeah, that IS what you'd think. Isn't it." his adopted daughter scoffed and remarked.
She was about to walk back to her desk, but while Balin was with M , she decided to take a sneak peak of his drawings in the board room.
...
And Millie was right about him having an artist's talent, because Loona was amazed at how cool these drawings were.
Each sketch was done beautifully. They were used with the kind of crayons kindergarteners used, but the colours all stayed inside the lines perfectly.
But the one special drawing he was saving for her made her gasp when she saw it.
It was a picture of his old house with more vibrant colours, showing him and Loona holding each other's hands and smiling out front with a rainbow spelling the words 'Imagination Castle.'
This made the hellhound slowly smile with a warm emotion, knowing someone liked her so much as to put her in a drawing, let alone a child. Human or demon.
So she left the board room, carrying it and a few crayons in her paws back to her desk.
