Author's Note ~

Welcome back! We are finally on Wizards React Book 3! Isn't that crazy? This one is shorter than the other shows, so we are only doing one chapter per month, just so it can be nicely spaced out and there isn't a lot of pressure to get two done in one month.

Seating Chart:

It is written out, but if anyone would like a visual, we are more than happy to accommodate. Yes, we know some people are not characters in Wizards, however, it wouldn't be right to put one couple together when this theater experience helps bring the characters closer.

JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE NAMES IN THE SECOND ROLE, THEY MIGHT NOT SPEAK, THEY JUST HAVE MORE OF A POSSIBILITY OF REACTING!

The Return is Urgent, Hisirdoux

Merlin felt a rising sense of panic swell within him as he watched the forces of the Arcane Order descend upon Camelot, their dark powers and malicious intent threatening to tear apart the very kingdom he had used for the protection of both his Trollhunter and a member of the Order that refused to follow through with their work. It was clear the Arcane Order was in search of Merlin as he held the most valuable people to their needs, but the Order being able to capture them was not what Merlin wanted.

He knew with a deep, gnawing certainty that he had to stop them at all costs - for if they were to succeed in their nefarious plans, the consequences would be catastrophic, the world itself hanging in the balance. Merlin rarely felt the grip of fear, his own formidable magical abilities typically giving him an unshakable confidence, but in this moment he couldn't help the worry that consumed him.

His Trollhunter, the brave warrior he had entrusted to carry out his most vital missions, now lay encased in an impenetrable crystal prison, a desperate measure taken to shield him from the shard's corrupting influence. The moment Merlin watched his Trollhunter fall to the ground with pain, having been struck in the heart, his stomach felt as if it was moving toward his throat. He questioned every moment, trying to figure out why the boy was taken down.

And now, the Arcane Order had turned their sights on Nari, who held knowledge that could unravel everything Merlin had worked for. He could not allow them to take her, to seize that critical information - the world's very survival depended on keeping it from their clutches.

He knew what was to come, his ability to glimpse into the future was both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it granted him unparalleled foresight, allowing him to peer ahead and witness the events that would unfold. However, this power came with a heavy burden - the knowledge of what was to come, and the realization that some of those events were unavoidable.

Merlin found himself trapped in a constant state of inner turmoil, torn between the desire to intervene and change the course of the future, and the understanding that certain things were simply meant to be. He thought he had more time to make some things right, reminding himself of his decision to show Jim a vision of what lay ahead for the young trollhunter and the fact that it was not made lightly.

Merlin recognized that this was the best way to prepare Jim for the challenges that awaited him, to arm him with the foreknowledge needed to navigate the perilous path that had been laid out. Yet, even as Merlin took this action, a deep well of concern stirred within him. He worried for the safety of Jim and the other trolls, knowing that the future he had glimpsed held great danger and uncertainty. But Merlin, ever the stoic and reserved wizard, would never openly admit to these feelings of trepidation. His primary focus remained on guiding Jim, even if it meant withholding the full extent of his internal anguish and uncertainty about the path that lay ahead.

He knew that this battle was not easy to be won, their castle having being trapped by ice bridges, blasts raining down on them while Merlin felt helpless, his staff floating somewhere when it should have stayed in his hand.

Merlin ducked as a blast of fire collided with the castle, his gut dropping, fearing they might lose this battle. However, Merlin's fear only grew when a woman's voice called for him, panic lacing their tone.

"Merlin!"

"No! Nari!" He ran, leaping over any crumbled pieces, watching as the small sorceress, filled with a nature look used the open door to keep her steady while the castle shook with every blast.

"This is all my fault,"

"I will take us to the past, but you must help me," Merlin stated, placing his hand on her shoulder.

"I will do what I can," Magic bloomed from her palm as the battle continued to rage on, more ice bridges pouring from the Order, connecting to Camelot. Numerous shadow mephits swarmed on the bridges, screeching as they surrounded the group on the bridge.

Claire backed up as she glared, "We've got to protect Jim! I'm not losing him again!" She hissed as Toby moved forward, hammer in hand as he leaped into the air, smashing the creatures.

"Feel the wrath of the hammer!" He yelled as Claire grabbed a nearby Goblin that was charging at her, using it as a weapon to smack away any of the creatures.

"Die, creeper!" Steve yelled, still wearing the knight helmet as he used a piece of metal to smack the shadow mephits away, even brutally slapping a Goblin with it. Out in the dark skies, Archie raced around, frantically looking as he passed over Douxie.

"Where's the staff? Where's the staff?"

"Archie, find the staff or we are all dead meat!" Douxie used his bursts of blue magic, keeping any mephits away while Archie circled him.

"What do you people think I'm doing?" As they struggled with their parts, Toby, Claire, and Steve made their way across the castle, seeing their friend Aaarrrgghh in a panicked stated as he protectively carried Jim away from any danger.

The trio tried to make their way over, only for a group of mephits raise from the concrete ground, blocking their path. Toby let out a battle cry as the creatures charged at him, swinging his hammer and going through another battle.

Merlin knew his group was struggling, the battle only carrying on as he no longer had his staff, trying to use a sword to break the ice bridges, hoping it would do something.

"Archie, I'm running out of time, here!" Merlin warned, the worry for those he was protecting continuing to cause his panic to rise the longer he waited.

Archie swooped down, finding the staff laying on a think pillar. He moved fast, grabbing the staff with his paw and calling out: "Got it!" As he flew off, ready to deliver the staff, another shard of ice grew, the sharp point breaking through the castle as debris rained on Toby and Aaarrrgghh, the large troll having Jim up high to avoid the shadow mephits, but having to back the Trollhunter up as the sharp point nearly pierced the crystal casing.

Merlin grew impatient, he needed the Order away from him, protecting Nari and Jim was the only task he needed to complete, and if he didn't complete it soon…

Moving quick, ignoring his thoughts, Merlin leaped onto a raising piece of castle, the battle raging on in the sky, numerous blasts firing from each direction. Skrael, the black-cloaked ice being floated upon his ice bridge, voice harsh as he chuckled.

"Surrender, Merlin."

Merlin leaped onto the bridge, trying to keep the Order far from his prizes. "Never."

However, before he could spare with the God, a voice echoed Merlin's name, "Merlin! Merlin! Get everyone to safety!" Merlin eyes the froze part of the castle, staring in shock as his friend Galahad rose on the castle part. The man broke free from the ice, pushing on the controls as he yelled, racing toward the ice bridges.

"No, Galahad! What are you doing?!" Merlin ran as Galahad cut through the ice bridges, breaking hte hold from the Order to Camelot. Parts of ice exploded everywhere as Galahad crashed into the castle, his life ending quickly. Merlin stared down, his heart breaking but he had no time to grieve as bigger issues were at hand. "Farewell, my old friend." Grimacing, Merlin looked toward the main controls of Camelot, crying out, "Hisirdoux, now!"

Douxie rushed to open the time map, hands on the massive steering wheel while Steve and Claire stood beside him, "Please don't blow us up. Please don't blow us up."

"We don't have enough power for the jump!" Archie cried as he flew toward their side, the massive rings spinning around the ball.

"Trust in Merlin!" The green magic soared through the orb as Nari moved to the base of the magic, her hands lighting up in green as she poured her abilities into the beam of light, giving it more power. The orb spun rapidly, green magic surrounding it before it locked into place, a bright light shining and nearly blinding the group. "Hold together. Come on!"

A beam of green shot from the orb, cutting through the sky and opening an entrance to another version of Camelot. Douxie did his best to try and turn the massive castle, both Steve and Claire moving to help. "We have to steer Camelot through the time rift!"

However, as they made their exit, the massive skull ship rose, the mouth of the Order's craft opened slowly, Merlin staring down the green foe that took down his Trollhunter. Merlin gasped, his fear bubbling as the Green Knight spoke.

"It ends... now!" He pointed out his sword, golden magic flowing from it as Bellroc and Skrael both fired as well, their three blasts meeting in the center and creating a massive power source. Knowing nothing could be done, Merlin stared at the blast.

"Oh, sod it all." He jumped out of the way as the blast shot toward the castle, destroying the room that Aaarrrgghh and the others had been. The impact threw the group off their feet, Jim's encasing flying out the window, causing Toby to panic, reaching his hand out.

"Jimbo!" The blast had taken Steve, Claire, and Douxie off their feet as well, the trio screaming as they lost their grip falling off the side. They caught themselves on the side, hanging on for dear life as Jim's encasment fell above them.

"Jim!" Claire cried, but another massive thud caused the Trollhunter to fall toward the opened portal. "Jim!" She yelled, reaching her hand out.

"What do we do, man?" Steve asked in a panic, dangling.

"Trust me!" Douxie stated before grabbing Claire's arm and yanking it off, giving her the clear idea of what he had planned.

"Wait! No, no, no!" Both Douxie and Claire fell, following after Jim as they let out panicked screams. Steve watched them fall before letting go as well.

"Flying castles suck!" The blond screamed. They tumbled toward the rift as Archie panicked, finally having hold of the staff again, trying to follow them. However, when Archie was close, the rift closed, sealing him from the three that just had fallen.

"Douxie! Oh, no!" Archie cried. Nearby, Merlin's heart raced as he heard the piercing screams of the young heroes, knowing with dread what was unfolding before him. Though he was powerless to alter the tragic events he had foreseen, he was determined to at least warn them of the grim fate that awaited. Time was of the essence, and Merlin knew his own life would soon be at an end. He stared as Archie raced the retrieved staff toward him, grabbing it from the at's paws and staring down the Arcane Order.

He knew what had to be done. They needed to be warned of the inescapable dangers ahead.

With a deep, steadying breath, he grasped the familiar, weathered staff in his hands, feeling the surge of magical energy coursing through the ancient wood and metal. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, Merlin summoned every ounce of his waning strength to cast a powerful spell, one that would allow him to project a final, crucial message to the young heroes.

He had to make them understand the gravity of the situation, to prepare them for the battles and tragedies to come. Though he knew his words could not change the course of the future, Merlin prayed that by imparting this knowledge, his apprentice Douxie would be able to guide the young ones when the time was right. With a heavy heart, Merlin unleashed the spell, his voice echoing across the battlefield. A light of green shined from his staff, the magic bursting with life.

Unaware of his Master's spell, Douxie watched with growing dread as they fell through looming time rift, the swirling vortex of energy filling him with a sense of primal panic.

Beside him, Claire and Steve were screaming in fear, the sheer magnitude of the situation overwhelming them all. Yet even as the rift bore down, sucking them through, Douxie knew they had no choice but to continue through the new issues they might face, to take the leap into the unknown.

With a shared glance of determination, the group braced themselves and let themselves seep into the churning temporal anomaly. For a heart-stopping moment, Douxie felt the very fabric of reality shift and distort around them, a disorienting sensation of being unmoored from the normal flow of time.

But then, just as suddenly, their descent slowed, and they found themselves gently deposited in what appeared to be a grand theater room, the ornate decor and plush seating a jarring contrast to the forest they had expected. He felt the rug beneath his hands, realizing how gentle their fall was. He pushed himself into a sitting position, glancing at Claire and Steve who were also confused on the matter.

Exchanging stunned looks, the group quickly pulled themselves to their feet, minds racing to make sense of this unexpected development. It was then that Claire noticed a crucial detail - when their friend Jim had emerged from the rift, the crystal encasing him had somehow vanished, leaving him free and unharmed.

He groaned, struggling to push himself off the floor as Claire moved rapidly to his side, smaller hands grabbing onto his arm, pushing him into a seated position.

"Jim, are you okay?" She asked, voice breaking. The Trollhunter blinked at her, squinting from the light as his hand held onto her.

"I think so, what happened?" Jim mumbled, eyes scanning the theater, seeing Douxie who looked rather disturbed.

As Douxie surveyed the scene unfolding before him, a mix of emotions swirled within. He couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt upon realizing that Merlin had been the one behind the spell that had transformed the theater. After all the times Merlin needed Douxie himself to control the theater, telling him everything, the fact that the old wizard had kept this from him stung more than Douxie cared to admit.

Yet, ever the pragmatist, Douxie quickly pushed those feelings down, knowing there were more pressing matters at hand because as his eyes locked with Jim's. A sense of relief washed over him as he let out a steadying breath, he reached out a hand to help the battered Jim to his feet, watching as Claire tenderly grasped the young Trollhunter's hand, her expression etched with concern.

"Do you feel okay?" Douxie asked as Steve reached their sides, staring at Jim with confusion.

"Yeah, it feels strange," Jim mentioned, using his free hand to gently ghost over the wound.

"Mordrax's miracles," Douxie's keen eyes quickly assessed the situation, noting with a furrowed brow that the shard of the Arcane Order's power still protruded from Jim's chest, frozen in place by the lingering magic. "When we jumped in the time rift, it must have frozen the corruption in place. But we ended up here, it must have this affect in the theater."

Though the immediate threat had been averted, Douxie knew their troubles were far from over. This was merely a temporary respite, a chance to regroup before the next wave of challenges inevitably crashed down upon them. With a resolute nod, Douxie steeled himself, preparing to face whatever the future held, his own personal hurts taking a backseat to the greater need at hand.

It was only a few moments before the group was alone, a massive light ripped from the middle of the room, blinding the small group, causing them to shield their eyes. As the light died down, Douxie moved his arm from his eyes, staring at the massive crowd of students and teachers, shocked at the sight.

They sat in tense silence, unsure of what to expect, when suddenly the rest of their classmates and friends began filing in, equally perplexed by this unexpected turn of events. The theater filled up quickly, but rather than panic, the students simply voiced their overlapping questions and theories, their voices blending together into a cacophony of confusion.

Obviously, they wouldn't be panicked as they have been here before, but the same question echoed in the room that Douxie was currently asking himself. Why were they here? What was so important to see? He couldn't think of it any longer as Steve's cry interrupted his thoughts, the blond pushing passed him.

"Pepperjack! My Ninja-Kicking Girlfriend!" He cried happily, running to pull them into hugs, giving more love in Aja's hug as she laughed, holding him back. "It's so good to see you guys! Who knew, you'd leave just for us to come back together!"

"Yeah, it was rather fast, we were settling down and all of a sudden, we were here." Eli stated, "I thought there would be more time."

"That's alright, I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet," Aja said with a smile, holding Steve. After she stayed longer to watch Jim's story, she and Steve had an awkward moment, which Steve knew was going to happen. She wasn't too fond of him bullying both Jim and Eli, giving him a long scolding conversation about it.

Knowing he was wrong, Steve did his best to ease her, saying out he would never forgive himself for those actions. He cared deeply for Eli, that was clear, and while there wasn't much interaction with Jim, Steve cared for him as well.

The response made her happy, letting them on happy terms, giving a much more deeper connection. Yet, Steve couldn't think of that moment anymore, Aja pulling away to embrace her brother.

As they shared their tender moment, others seemed to catch up as well, Barbara being the first to rush toward Jim, unaware of the shard and Blinky's panic run to his boy as well, leaving to a long conversation and a hiding Trollhunter, taking cover behind Claire even though she was much smaller than him.

Douxie watched as everyone chattered, his eyes scanning the room until his eyes landed on Merlin and Nari and where they now stood. Douxie noted his master's usual stern expression which was betraying no hints of what was to come. Douxie stood in silence, staring at the wizard as Merlin raised a hand, commanding the student body's attention, everyone fell silent and turned to face the man.

"Everyone, if I may speak. I am aware you all are recalling the adventurous of the passed battle," He started, Aja and Krel growing awkward for being called out. "I know this was rather fast to rejoin in the theater, but certain implications affected my decision."

Douxie pushed himself up toward Merlin, a questioning look on his face. "Why did you not say anything? You told me about the first and second time."

"Well, I was in a resting state the first time, we were in this together, yes, but this time it is different."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"The return is urgent, Hisirdoux. There wasn't much time, Hisirdoux, there still isn't much time. This time, you must watch and learn, as this one involves you. Please, take a seat." Merlin answered with a blunt tone and Douxie was taken aback, blinking at his master before grumbling and moving to his seat as he eyed it on the screen.

"As you all can see," Merlin stared, with a flick of his wrist, the screen flickered to life, casting an eerie glow over the gathered crowd. "There is a seating chart for you to follow, please take your seats."

Murmuring, the group did so, the couples sitting with their hands clasped together. "Uh, may we ask who the strange green lady is?" Mary asked, pointing to Nari who had tried to hide behind Merlin's legs.

"She is under my protection, those answers will come soon." Douxie frowned, crossing his arms, softly mumbling about riddles. Toby managed to pick up the conversation, turning to look at the wizard apprentice.

"Tell me about it, he's been bother me about it this entire time." Douxie stared at him before glancing back at the screen, questioning everything. However, his mind went to Archie wondering about the cat.

"Excuse me, Mer-" Douxie started, instantly catching the man's attention who was leading Nari to a seat next to the screen where Merlin would sit. "Where is Archie?"

"Ah, yes." Merlin answered, snapping his fingers and letting Archie appear on Douxie's lap, starlting the boy.

"Douxie!" Archie purred, rubbing into his lap. "I was so worried."

"I'm sorry," Douxie said as he gave a gentle pet to his cat friend.

"We must start, I will say no more, only let you find your answers through this time," Merlin spoke, eying both Douxie and Jim who looked perplexed. Merlin snapped his fingers, the screen's color fading before the first episode started.

All Douxie could do was swallow his fear.
