Jamie slid out of Roy's car with the sort of grin that the older man was used to seeing after a thorough fucking. They had fucked that morning, but it was before breakfast and showers and Jamie dancing around the kitchen singing 'I Say a Little Prayer' as he did his hair and made sure he had all of the gifts they had for everyone. Jamie had a whole fucking plan, he was bursting with joy and Roy didn't want to stop him, wouldn't fight him on it, would…well, not smile but certainly stand there supportively while it unfolded.

Jamie and Roy walked in, ten minutes late, just at the time they had asked everyone to be assembled in the locker room. Roy followed Jamie in, holding his hand tightly and carrying the 'plan' in the other.

"Hi everyone," Jamie said, smiling around the room. "Thank you all for coming, we have assembled you here today to reveal the identity of the murderer."

Roy laughed, unable to help himself from leaning over and kissing Jamie's cheek.

"We have a present for you all, but you're not allowed to open them until I say something," Jamie explained.

The team, along with Rebecca, Keeley, and Leslie nodded. Roy started around the room, passing out the wrapped presents. Each of them had a name on it because Jamie was a complete dork about this sort of thing. When he was done, he came back to stand next to Jamie.

"As you all know, last year I moved in with Roy. I thought we were just having sex…so much fucking sex," Roy coughed. "Seriously, so much, but Roy here thought we were dating because he's quite an old-fashioned fella and he just can't resist me." Roy shrugged, Jamie wasn't fucking wrong. "For six months wevre been together but I was really sad because I didn't know he loved me and he was really sad because he thought I was going to outgrow him."

"Mon Dieu, vous êtes tous les deux tellement stupides. Jamie est obsédé par toi et porterait ta peau au lit la nuit," Richard spat, standing up and gesticulating at Roy as he spoke. (My god, you are both so stupid. Jamie is obsessed with you and would wear your skin to bed at night.) "Et Roy ne pouvait pas arrêter de parler de toi même lorsque tu es allé à Manchester. Il est amoureux de toi depuis si longtemps que c'est obscène." (And, Roy couldn't stop talking about you even when you went to Manchester. He has been in love with you for so long it is obscene.)

"What did he say?" Dani asked.

"You are both idiots," Zoreaux told them.

Roy and Jamie looked at one another but Jamie shrugged and kept going.

"Then I overheard Roy talk about a partner at karaoke and well…you all saw that," the team nodded. "Which was actually really good because even though I promised Mummy I'd talk to him after Christmas I didn't want to because I didn't want things to end."

"And I was too scared of making Jamie squeamish and making him leave me sooner to talk to him," Roy explained.

Sam slapped his hand into his face and Isaac shook his head at them both.

"Right, so Ms Welton was nice enough to let us have a little time away to sort things about and we wanted to thank you all for your support by getting you a little something. You can open your gifts now."

Roy watched the team, Rebecca opened hers slowly and precisely, Dani ripped his open, Colin and Isaac swapped and opened one another's, Beard tucked his into his pocket, Nate turned his around inspecting it before starting to open his, Keeley let out a screech and ran for Jamie, throwing herself into his arms.

"We got married," Roy said, "on Monday."

The team finished opening their presents – all of them had a small trinket from Gretna Green and a wedding photo of the two of them, and a save the date card for their wedding party.

Roy took all of the team's congratulations but was happy that most of the effusive congratulations went to Jamie instead. The group hug, the pressed kisses to cheeks and forehead all went to Jamie who lapped it up and showed everyone his ring.

"What is your plan?" Keeley asked.

Jamie reached out and Roy stepped into the press of bodies to take Jamie's hand.

"We're just telling people we love at the moment," Jamie said. "I'm going to change my name to Jamie Kent at some point, I am Jamie Kent as of 10:13am on Monday, fuck my dad and his toxic shit. Roy is going to be the best husband around and when we're ready we'll think about what comes next."

"Oh," Will said, scurrying out of the room and coming back a few minutes later with a thick permanent marker. He stood on the bench and crossed out Tartt, writing KENT in big block letters.

Jamie beamed and turned, pressing his face into Roy's shoulder. Roy could feel the slight hitch of the younger man taking deep breaths…maybe letting out a tear or two but Roy held him tight.

"Good lad," Roy told Will. "Right, the rest of you, you should be stretched and ready to go in thirty minutes, we have a game against Aston Villa we need to win. Gonna make the Prince of Wales wish he supported us instead."

The team hollered and moved away to start getting ready. Jamie took another few beats and pulled away. He smiled up at Roy and then turned around.

"Don't worry about anything, Ms Welton, Roy and I are going to be so professional at work." Jamie told her.

She smirked at him. "There are cameras in the boot room."

Jamie flushed.

"Fuck," Roy intoned, making the word deeply heart-felt.

"Can I get copies?" Jamie asked.

Keeley giggled. "If you need anything PR you know where I am, I'm happy for you both."

"Thanks, Keeley," Jamie told her.

Keeley walked out, laughing to herself.

"We will need to meet with HR," Rebecca said. "Leslie and I will sort it out but please, keep it out of the boot room; I sneak in there to smoke."

Roy saluted her.

She saluted back and walked out.

"Beard, Nate," Roy said. "I'm relying on you to make sure the team doesn't feel like Jamie gets any husband treatment."

"Like he has for two years?" Beard asked. "The team knew this was all happening before you did, they will say something if you get even more unhinged." Beard turned and walked away.

"I'll make sure," Nate offered, following Beard.

"Isaac," Roy called. The captain walked over and stopped in front of them. "If the team feels weird about anything, you're the captain, you tell me, Beard, or Nate, fuck go to Rebecca if you need to."

"No worries, mate," Isaac said. "We're been dealing with the two of you for years. Not sure you could get any weirder about one another."

"Unless one of them were capable of bearing children," Dani said. "You would make beautiful children."

Jamie stepped over to Dani. "I would definitely have his kids."

Roy rolled his eyes and wondered who he could look at that would understand but even Sam didn't look sympathetic. "25 minutes!" Roy barked and turned to his office.
