When one has been at Camp Half-Blood for long enough, there are some things you will always acknowledge about certain gods and their children.

For example, the Hermes kids tend to be thieves, or tricksters. They also tend to be particularly fast. Therefore, be careful around them.

Another example is Ares kids. They tend to be more violent, loud, and stabby. They are typically also stronger than the average untrained demigod.

But this isn't about them. This is about Cabin 6, the children of Athena.

There are four things you should always acknowledge about them.

1. They are incredibly smart.

After all, their mother is the goddess of Wisdom. It just makes sense for them to be practically geniuses. At Least by demi-god standards.

2. They get bored very easily.

When one is incredibly smart, they don't usually need to spend that much time on things to do them well. And like the average person, one would run out of things to do.

Besides, it is fairly hard to find anything that could entertain an Athena kid for long.

Then someone mentions Gotham, and they latch onto the subject like barnacles.

3. Cabin 6 can be terrifying when focused.

Like, they're usually terrifying in general, but it's way worse when they're laser-focused on the task at hand. The four days it took for them to completely unmask the Gotham vigilantes, nobody outside their cabin went in.

Except Percy Jackson, because he's reckless and not afraid of death.

4. Athena Kids are most likely right.

This is a fact that everyone at Camp knows. If a camper from Cabin 6 says something, chances are that they are right.

So naturally, it caused quite a stir in Camp when Cabin 6 made some theories about the identities of the Gotham Vigilantes, backed up by solid evidence formed by dozens of connected dots.

However, they also theorized that one of them, Timothy Drake-Wayne, is a demigod.

Naturally, a member of that cabin has to find out if that's true, by going to Gotham for a while.

Call it a field trip, business trip, whatever. They just happened to choose Annabeth for it.

So that's where she's going. Chiron said it might not be the best idea, but Gotham is free of monsters and gods, so Annabeth is very excited.

Percy isn't against the idea, as long as, and she quotes "I get to meet him before we tell him if he's a demigod."

Annabeth is awake by two am, out of Camp by three am, and on a bus to New Jersey by four.

Chiron, saying she shouldn't neglect her studies, had enrolled her in Gotham Preparatory, a private school for rich kids. And, well, Annabeth's father is rich, if not a stereotypical rich person.

It'll be easier to meet Tim Drake, at any rate. They also happen to be in the same grade. School starts at eight in the morning,(which according to Percy is ungodly,) and Annabeth wants to be on time for her first day.

She's living in the Bowery, a neighborhood close to Crime Alley. Annabeth had researched this place thoroughly, and concluded that yes, while this place is allegedly very dangerous and crime-ridden, it's nothing she, a very experienced demigod, won't be able to handle.

Her apartment is #67 in apartment complex D. She finds that hilarious, and Percy wondered if it was on purpose. Knowing Chiron, it could have been.

The apartment is bought, not rented, and Chiron bought it specifically for any demigods who stay in Gotham for a short amount of time.

Annabeth knows a short amount of time could be anywhere from a day to three years.

The door is plain and unassuming steel, (plain and unassuming in Gotham, that is.), painted a pale blue colour that reminds her of that one jacket Percy has that he lent her once when she was cold.

The interior is a nice, cool gray that is strangely reminiscent of Athena's eyes. It's a two-bedroom apartment, both of which have matching windows and closets. There's one bathroom, surprisingly clean.

In the slightly larger bedroom, there's a bunk bed with the bed on top and a mini office with a desk underneath. The comforter is dark grey, matching the pillow. The sheets are white. The apartment is colorless, everything in various shades of gray.

The first thing Annabeth puts out is a blood red lamp with a cube-shaped purple lampshade. The lamp itself is a twisted, curved, mass of vine-like shapes.

Percy had picked this out, saying he knows Chiron's vibes.

It helps brighten the room, anyway, even if it looks terribly out of place. Vaguely creepy, even, and Annabeth loves it.

She puts her blueprints on the desk under the bed, and her snacks go into the kitchen cupboards.

The chair at the desk spins. The dining table is thick wood with metal legs. There are four chairs, with black metal twisting up the wood in an intricate design. The kitchen island is black and white marble, with three tall stools.

After she unpacks, there's nothing to do but wait until seven am to take the bus to Gotham Prep.

While she does have to wear the uniform she doesn't mind. It's a white shirt, black vest with the school crest on the left side, a navy tie underneath. The bottom is a black skirt and black leggings.

The shirt has long sleeves. Good. Would probably scare all the rich kids and she didn't want to deal with all the looks she would get. She obviously couldn't get rid of the ones on her face but that wasn't anything a little make-up couldn't fix.

Annabeth walks out of her new apartment in her school uniform. Probably not the best idea, knowing that criminals target richer people, and wearing the uniform cements her as rich, but she can defend herself.

The bus ride is uneventful and boring. Annabeth will have to remember to bring her headphones next time. It's surprisingly relaxing, not having to worry about monsters all the time. One of the good things about Gotham.

The moment she steps onto the school grounds, she's assaulted by a barrage of sound, students chattering to each other, catching up with their friends. It's strange how the sound didn't carry over to the other side of the gates, but maybe she just wasn't paying attention.

Who is she kidding, Annabeth was paying attention the entire time. It's most likely just a Gotham thing.

The school itself is fairly impressive, in both the size and the architecture. Not the best work Annabeth has seen, but not the worst, either.

She does notice one thing. In this sea of rich teenagers from rich families who have likely never even seen blood in their entire lives, Annabeth looks like she belongs.

She's going to fit in perfectly here.

She isn't proud of that fact.
