Chapter six: Jade Chan vs. Kimiko Tohomiko (Jackie Chan Adventures vs. Xiaolin Showdown)
Jade Chan was wandering around Chinatown in San Francisco, just out to get some fresh air and some time alone with her thoughts. As she was walking along, Jade spotted a quarter laying on the sidewalk, so she walked over and picked it up.
"...Hey, this is one of those state quarters," Jade said as she looked at the coin, "And it's the one for Alaska. That one girl at school who collects state quarters says Alaska is one of the ones that she's missing. I'll save this for-"
*BAM*
"Ah, watch it!" Kimiko Tohomiko cried out, accidentally running into Jade and nearly making her drop the Alaska quarter that she had found.
"I was just standing there, you jerk!" Jade snapped at Kimiko, "You're the one who rammed into me! You need to watch where you're going!"
"Oh ho ho ho, you did NOT just tell me that I need to watch where I'm going," Kimiko said. Pulling out the Eye of Dashi, Kimiko said, "You're talking to a girl who's packing some serious Shen Gong Wu!"
Jade pulled out the Rabbit Talisman before firing back, "You aren't the only one with magical items, rude girl! If you wanna throw down, then that's fine by me!"
Raising up the Shen Gong Wu that she held, Kimiko cried out, "Eye of Dashi!" Bolts of lighting flew out of the Eye of Dashi, but Jade was able to quickly run away from it, thanks to the super speed that was granted to her by the Rabbit Talisman. Seeing Jade run around at such speed made Kimiko go wide eyed with surprise.
But the surprise soon faded. "You're not the only one able to go fast!" Kimiko put on another Shen Gong Wu, a pair of fancy looking sandals, before calling out, "Fancy Feet!" Kimiko then ran right at Jade, able to keep up with her now. Kimiko closed the gap, and soon got close enough to strike out at Jade, making her stumble into some metal trash cans in the alleyway they were racing through.
Jade got up, mildly hurt from her crash landing. But she instantly healed back up thanks to using the Horse Talisman. Seeing Jade heal herself instantly got another surprised look out of Kimiko. "I see that you're not going to go down easy," Kimiko said to her opponent, "I'm gonna have to pull out all the stops to beat you, then!"
Kimiko then reached into a small pouch, took some darts, and threw them at Jade, with the darts igniting and becoming engulfed in flames in the process. "Arrow Sparrow!" Kimiko yelled as she used her Wudai Weapon, only to look surprised when Jade suddenly turned invisible, allowing her to avoid Kimiko's line of sight and dodge the attack.
Scowling, Kimiko called out, "You aren't the only one who can turn invisible! Shroud of Shadows!" Kimiko took out a shroud like Shen Gong Wu and used it to become invisible. Good news for Kimiko was that Jade didn't know where she was, letting her catch her breath. However, there was a bit of bad news for Kimiko as well.
She had no idea where Jade was, and she had no idea about Jade's Snake Talisman.
Scowling, Kimiko took off the Shroud of Shadows, then took out a blue orb and a sort of board thing that turned into wings that she held. "Wings of Tinabi!" Kimiko cried out as she flew up into the air, leaving a rainbow trail in the process. "Orb of Tornami!" Kimiko cried out next, making a rather large volume of water gush out from the orb.
The entire area soon became flooded, making Kimiko confident that she was able to land a rather serious blow on Jade. However, to Kimiko's surprise, a dolphin jumped out of the water, going up about a meter into the air, before turning into a bald eagle and flying around to land on the top of a building that gave it a good view of Kimiko, as well as avoiding the sudden flood.
The bald eagle then turned into Jade, who looked very mad as well as wanting to bring down Kimiko. Jade, were it not for the Monkey Talisman letting her turn into animals, would have been in serious trouble when Kimiko made that flood.
Scoffing, Kimiko said, "Alright, you can go super fast, turn invisible, heal yourself, and turn into various animals. What other tricks are you hiding up your sleeves?"
Jade didn't answer verbally. Instead, she used the Rooster Talisman to levitate, then used it to telekinetically toss floating trash cans below her and Kimiko at the Xiaolin Monk. Kimiko had to fly around to avoid all of the trash cans, making her realize that her opponent was nothing like what all robots Jack Spicer had sent against her and her friends.
When she saw Jade use her telekinesis to chuck a huge swarm of trash cans at her, Kimiko took out another Shen Gong Wu and held it as she said, "Serpent's Tail!" Kimiko was then able to phase through the swarming attack, getting out of it unharmed. Kimiko then flew right at Jade and struck her down onto the roof of the building below her.
Jade stood on the corner of the roof, but not on the edge of it, as Kimiko took out another Shen Gong Wu, this one being a small brass colored star that has a red gem in the center, before calling out, "Star Hanabi!"
Looking at the Shen Gong Wu that Kimiko held, Jade said, "Hey wait a minute, is that a Staryu? It kind of does look like-" Jade was cut off when a storm of fire shots flew from the Star Hanabi and right towards her, slamming down all around her like a fiery hail. The striking force of the hail of fire shots was so great, the corner on which Jade stood was busted up, sending Jade down into the floods below, with an avalanche of collapsed roof debris falling down after her.
Seeing the sheer damage she caused, Kikimo actually panicked a bit, thinking that she may have actually killed Jade. "Oh geez, I didn't mean to do that much damage to the rude girl!" Kimiko spoke up. Taking out a small little lens that was red in a cool bronze frame resembling a bird's eye, Kimiko called out, "Falcon's Eye!" before using it to scan the rubble under the water below.
To Kimiko's surprise, Jade while underwater knocked all of the debris off of her and had emerged from that rubble pile unscathed. She then turned into a catfish and swam around to get out of where Kimiko still flew in place with the Wings of Tinabi. A few seconds later, Jade jumped out of the water, turned into a monkey, and climbed up the side of the building she had been standing on the roof of along a metal storm drain that got clogged with leaves.
When Jade got onto the roof, she turned back into a human. "Okay, I have got to know how you had not only survived that, but got out of it without a scratch," Kimiko said. When she saw that Jade was very clearly not going to talk, Kimiko took out a conch shell Shen Gong Wu and said, "Fine, I'll get the info the hard way! Mind Reader Conch!"
Kimiko held the Shen Gong Wu she took out, the Mind Reader Conch, and held it to her ear as it glowed. Kimiko then aimed the other end at Jade to hear her thoughts. "What does she think she's doing with that weird glowing sea shell?" Jade was thinking, "Does she think it'll let her find out that I survived that collapsing roof due to the Dog Talisman making me immortal?"
"Wait a minute," Kimiko called out, taken off guard by what she had just learned by reading Jade's mind, "You're immortal?! And what the heck is a Talisman?!"
A look of surprise appeared over Jade's face. "How did you find that out?" Jade demanded.
Holding the Mind Reader Conch for Jade to see, Kimiko said, "I used this, the Mind Reader Conch, to read your mind and find out where your weird powers are coming from. So it's some sort of magical artifacts called Talismans, huh?"
"Well you saw me take out the Rabbit Talisman earlier," Jade said, "I'm surprised it took you this long to figure something out, and even then you had to get the answer by literally reading my mind!"
Scowling, Kimiko said, "Shut up!" Putting away the Mind Reader Conch, Kimiko used the Wings of Tinabi to fly right for Jade, only for Jade to use the Rooster Talisman to fly out of the way. The two girls then flew towards a semi-secluded basketball court that was the least affected by the flooding that Kimiko had caused earlier due to being located up a slight incline.
The semi-secluded basketball court also was a dumping ground of sorts, as there were a few heavy appliances such as washers, dryers, a few ovens, and even a big refrigerator left around. Most of them had been turned over so that smooth, flat surfaces were facing up, also they were moved around so that they form a sort of line of bleachers for people to sit on while watching people play on the basketball court.
But Jade, using the Ox Talisman, had a different idea. She flew down to the nearest abandoned appliance, a white stove, picked it up with the super strength granted by the Ox Talisman, and then chucked it right at Kimiko, making her fly to dodge it. The tossed stove ended up crashing on the ground behind Kimiko harmlessly.
Jade picked up and chucked the other abandoned appliances at Kimiko, one at a time. She was able to clip Kimiko with the refrigerator, and scored a solid hit with the last item she chucked, that being a black dryer. Kimiko was forced to land after taking some hits from Jade's tossing of the big appliances at her. "Lemme guess," Kimiko said as she winced in pain, "That strength of yours comes from another one of your Talismans."
"And I still have a few more tricks," Jade said as her eyes glowed with power while she was using the Pig Talisman.
Kimiko, her instincts screaming at the top of their lungs at her in her head, took out another one of her Shen Gong Wu and used it while calling out, "Shadow Slicer!"
The result was that Kimiko used the Shadow Slicer to make a hologram duplicate of herself, making it in front of her to try to trick Jade. Kimiko was able to quickly hide behind the tossed refrigerator from a few moments prior while, to her shock, Jade blasted the hologram with laser eyes thanks to the Pig Talisman. Kimiko jumped out from hiding and stood on the refrigerator.
"You can shoot lasers from your eyes?!" Kimiko exclaimed, "That does it!" Kimiko then pulled out a rather cool looking sword and held it up while calling out, "Sword of the Storm!" Kimiko whipped up a vast storm of winds that swept through the area, as well as send funnels of wind right at Jade who used the Monkey Talisman to turn into an African Elephant, figuring that it'd be heavy enough to avoid being kicked up by the winds.
It was, and Kimiko couldn't get away in time before Jade in elephant form charged at her and smacked her away to the left, sending Kimiko flying into the side of one of the buildings that were surrounding the semi-secluded basketball court. Kimiko was stunned, allowing Jade time to change back to human form.
Jade aimed the palm of her hand at Kimiko as said hand glowed with power, thanks to the Dragon Talisman. "You aren't the only one with magical items that lets one cast fire attacks," Jade said as she used the Dragon Talisman to send shots of blasting fire at the vulnerable Kimiko, pelting her repeatedly until collapsed to her knees and fell over, laying there on the ground.
After ending her attack, Jade ran over to check Kimiko. She was still alive and was going to make it just fine. But Kimiko was still knocked out and wouldn't get up for a while. Jade sighed in relief, both due to the fight being over with her winning, and due to Kimiko surviving. Still, Jade was a little bit on the annoyed side with Kimiko having attacked her despite how Kimiko was the one at fault for starting their fight in the first place.
Jade was also curious about the magical items that Kimiko had used during their fight, and figured that Uncle would be able to make heads or tails of them. So Jade looted the knocked out Kimiko, taking all of her on hand Shen Gong Wu as well as her Wudai Weapon, then with all of that in hand, Jade took off for Uncle's Antique Shop.
WINNER: JADE CHAN
END, CHAPTER SIX
Author's notes;
This chapter showed two pre-teen Asian girls with magical items fighting one another, with the one listed first in the match up winning (a first for this story; usually the competitor who is listed second always wins unless there's a draw). Jade had also looted her opponent who she defeated, which is something of a recurring theme in this story; Jade isn't the first winner to take something from the opponent that was defeated, and probably won't be the last.
Also, I wasn't able to figure out Jade using the Tiger, Sheep, and Rat Talismans. Sorry about that. It's gonna be bugging me for a little while, but I'm sure I'll get over it eventually. But all of that business is getting off subject.
Anyway, the next chapter will require me to do a bit of research on characters to find two who can go head to head in a fight while also seeing the both of them have something in common with each other so their fight has a solid theme. As always, I'll consider suggestions left in signed reviews, but that's besides the point. I'll be seeing you all next time. Until then, take care.
Next time, on Fiction Fighters...
Slade Wilson found himself at Eden Academy, the top private school in the nation of Ostania. His job was simple; eliminate Murdoch Swan. Slade wasn't sure why the client wanted Swan dead, he thinks something about a divorce that went down rather nasty was talked about. Either way, the pay was beyond anything else Slade ever got for a job of this type and difficulty. It was essentially just free money.
Slade, while in his hiding spot on a roof on Eden Academy grounds, soon caught sight of his target through a window. Taking aim, Slade got Murdoch within the crosshairs of his rifle's scope. Just the slightest squeeze on the trigger, and the bastard with a surprisingly high price tag on his head will be dead as a door nail. Slade could already feel the warm weight of that fat paycheck in his pocket as he proceeded to-
*BAM*
Slade was tackled to the side unexpectedly, and when he regained his barings he saw that he had been confronted by a slender and admittedly rather lovely woman with black hair. She wore a black sleeveless dress and had a pair of daggers that resembled large golden needles. The woman was giving Slade a look that told him two things. One, she was very unamused with him, and two, she's a killer same as him.
"I have no idea what you're doing here at my daughter's school," the woman said to Slade, her tone as firm and serious as her expression "But those weapons tell me that whatever it is that you're up to is no good! I won't let you do anything that could bring harm to my daughter!"
