Unexpected Meetings

After Yami's 'debut arc', the following day, Hiro was invited to ice skating with Rito, Mikan and Lala.

"Rito! Mikan! Hiro! Look at me~!" Lala said gleefully, waving her arm at the three.

Despite Lala's initial claims of having no experience in ice skating, she skated like any experienced ice skater would, even knowing how to slow down and stop gracefully instead of nervously gliding hoping to stop in time, or crashing into the wall to stop like some of the younger ice skaters nearby.

"Wow, you're good Lala-san!" Mikan complimented, amazed by Lala's quick learning.

"WAAHH!" Rito yelled, Mikan and Hiro turned to see Rito flailing. Rito's legs moved up and down wildly, like he was trying to walk like normal on ice. Inevitably, he fell face first, right on the nose. Hiro winced while Mikan deadpanned

"Then there's this guy." Mikan said.

"I mean it is his first time ice skating." Hiro said, trying to defend Rito's lack of balance in ice skating. "It's difficult for first timers." Unlike Rito, Hiro, in his previous and current life, has experience with ice skating before. Which is why he is having little issues like Mikan.

"Yeah!" Rito added in, indignant to the girl's comment, massaging his cold hurt face.

"Isn't it Lala-san's first time too?" Mikan pointed out.

"She's an exception!"

"To be fair, it's Lala… When it comes to physical activities, I can hardly see her struggle with anything sport related." Hiro said and Mikan paused.

"True…" Mikan conceded with a nod, recalling Lala's incredible feats, her impossible movement in the little gun game they all had, and taking out Lascopo.

Hiro grabbed Rito's hand helping his friend stand up right and Rito grabbed the nearby wall. "Damn it, I knew I should have taken it easy and stayed at home today!" Rito admitted out loud, his legs wobbling, and seeing Rito is somewhat stable, Hiro gently gilded backwards, away from the protagonist and back to Mikan, who noticed Hiro's smooth feat with awe. "Wait no…" Rito immediately said, paling. "If I stayed home by myself she might come and try to kill me again…" Rito realized.

Mikan placed her hands on her hips with a thoughtful look. "When Yami-chan ate dinner with us, she seemed to have calmed down a bit." She pondered, recalling how Yami silently ate the food with a small frown, or was it her usual stoic cool look?

"As long as Rito has ceased falling over Yami-san anymore, maybe she won't hurt him." Hiro guessed. Based on his memories of the manga, the only times Yami attacked Rito was when he fell or saw her nude or anything ecchi with her nearby.

"Somehow I doubt that…" Mikan commented with a sigh and Hiro shrugged helplessly, as Mikan isn't wrong in her guess with Rito's supernatural clumsiness.

"Hey!" Rito cried, feeling betrayed by his sister and his friend. He was about to rebuke but he choked, palling at the sight of a familiar figure in black.

Hiro and Mikan saw Rito's strange expression and turned to see where he was looking, finding Yami sliding on the ice on her boots towards them with ease.

"Oh hey it's Yami-chan!" Lala said with a wide smile, happy to see Yami.

"Hi Yami-chan!" Mikan greeted with a wave and a smile.

"Hello." Hiro said with a small wave.

'How can they greet her so casually?! I can understand Lala since she is super strong but Hiro and Mikan?' Rito thought, as he can only recall how terrifying Yami was with her ability to transform her body to anything, using it to try and kill him after accidentally falling on her.

"Good afternoon Princess, Mikan, Hiroto." Yami greeted the three as Lala skated over to her, she raised a few Taiyakis, "Each of these are for you." Yami said, handing a taiyaki to Lala, Mikan and even Hiro, much to the reincarnate's surprise.

"How come you're giving us these?" Mikan asked.

"I purchased too many earlier, so I will give three to all of you." Yami answered.

"Wow really?! Thank you!" Lala beamed.

"Thanks Yami-chan." Mikan said with a warm smile.

"Thank you for coming over to give us this." Hiro said, guessing that Yami was secretly wanting to pay them back and lied about buying too much. Typical kuudere behavior.

Yami's cheeks turned light pink at the combined warmth and appreciation of the three, she glanced away. "No need for thanks… Well, I'll be going." She said, sliding away to the exit.

"She came here just to give you all taiyaki?" Rito said, confused by her actions while the others ate their snack.

"Well it was probably the first food from Earth she ate, she must like it a lot." Mikan deduced and Hiro nodded, chewing his food.

"Hey look! It's Lala-chan, Yuuki-san and Hiroto-kun!" Risa exclaimed, and the mentioned trio, plus Mikan, turned to see Risa, Mio and Haruna outside of the ice rink.

"Hee hee~! I called them! I thought ice skating would be more fun in a big group!" Lala said, explaining the sudden reunion.

'Nice work Lala!' Rito mentally praised, expressing the most goofiest blushing smile and thumbs up Hiro had ever seen.

The two groups meet outside of the ice rink, greeting each other. Hiro and Mikan both smirked after seeing Rito's reaction to Haruna's appearance.

After some adjustment, Risa and Mio became competitive at the sight of Lala ice skating, and they raced her.

Noticing there were only four people left at the gate, Mikan skated away. "Okay, I think I'll skate on my own." She said.

"Mikan?!" Rito blurted out from the sudden decision and Hiro blinked, realizing Mikan's intent.

"How about you have Haruna-san practice with you Rito?" Mikan said with a smug all knowing smile. "Kay, bye~!" She said, increasing her speed away from Rito.

'Did she figure out that I like Haruna…?' Rito wondered, he turned to see Hiro gliding away.

"W-wait, Hiro where are you going?" Rito asked.

"I want to skate around alone a bit too. Just take it slow and easy, think of skating being almost like sliding on socks only, don't try to walk or run like normal." Hiro advised before skating away.

Eventually the reincarnate caught up to Mikan, and they both winked at each other. They turned to see Haruna laying on top of Rito, their faces almost touching, for once, their position wasn't lewd but rather, it was akin to a scene from a romantic movie.

"How smooth…" Hiro commented with amusement

"My brother can be quite the player sometimes." Mikan added before turning around, seeing Yami standing at one of the gates of the ice rink, observing the skaters. "Oh, I see Yami-chan, want to talk to her?" She asked and Hiro nodded.

"Sure." And the two skated over to Yami.

"Hey Yami-chan!" Mikan greeted with a smile. "Are you interested in skating? Want to join?" She offered as she and Hiro walked up onto the platform.

"... No thank you, I was merely observing." Yami politely declined

"What's your conclusion?" Hiro asked.

"I find it odd and primitive." Yami's conclusion felt like a jab into the gut for the two humans. "They're just sliding along the ice…"

"You probably think that because of how advanced some alien worlds are…" Mikan deduced, picturing lots of video games and digital entertainment. Plus she is an assassin so the rush of ice skating might not be as much compared to fighting.

"I wouldn't really call it primitive, I would call it, simple." Hiro said. Yami and Mikan turned to him, curiosity gleaming in their eyes.

"How so?" Yami asked, inquisitive of his choice of words.

"The feeling of ice skating is different from the usual walking most people here grew up doing for almost their entire lives. The sensation of the movement is nice, there is a peaceful rhythm to it, making it feel more liberating than just walking, especially in quiet places." Hiro explained. "It's simple because it doesn't require a lot of advanced technology to enjoy it, not really primitive."

"I didn't think of it like that but yeah, it makes sense." Mikan nodded.

"..." Yami stared at the more casual skaters going at a slow pace compared to everyone else, thinking deeply at Hiro's explanation. Until a small object flew towards the assassin and she caught it with ease. Suddenly, in a flash of light, her clothing disappeared, replaced by a swimsuit.

"What the?" Mikan blurted out at the sudden change of clothing. Hiro blushed, as the transformation also removed the belts on Yami's legs making her shapely thighs more prominent than before. Hiro quickly turned his gaze away, hoping Yami didn't catch his gaze.

"Huh?" Peke murmured.

"Peke?" Mikan said in confusion, noticing the little robot in Yami's hand.

"What do you think you are doing?!" Yami yelled, throwing Peke away to the ceiling.

"AIIIEEE!" Peke cried.

Yami turned to Hiro, her face red, scrutinizing the only male nearby. "Did you see…?" She asked with an intense glare.

"U-uh…" Hiro stuttered. "There wasn't much to look at" He muttered slowly scooting towards the exit. "A swimsuit isn't really ecchi…"

"He's right, the outfit Peke made you wear wasn't too different from your normal outfit." Mikan pointed out. "It didn't expose anything." She said, vouching for Hiro.

"..." Yami paused, contemplating their points. "I see…" She muttered, her eyes softening a tinge, and Hiro let out a sigh of relief.

"EEEEEEEKKKK!" Haruna's scream echoed throughout the entire building, Hiro turned to see her practically launching Rito away with a harsh slap to his face. He was wearing the cream outfit Lala wore during the festival.

'Haruna has quite the violent reaction when she gets overwhelmed with emotions…' Hiro concluded based on her reaction to 'ghosts' during the summer trip and Rito's red cheek in the present.

Afterwards, Hiro lectured Peke that if he wasn't feeling well, he shouldn't rush himself to dress Lala, he should recover first before dressing, as he is no good if he is too dizzy to help. Something everyone agreed with and Peke took it to heart, understanding Hiro's point.

Later at night, on a frozen lake. Yami quietly skates on the lake alone, gliding across the frozen water, hearing nothing but the sounds of her blades on the ice. The sensation felt pleasant…

"I see."

It has been a while since he ice skated, it's New Year's eve. Hiro smiled, happy to get the latest book and manga of his favorite series to read, walking out of the library. Along the way out, he finds Yami sitting on the bench with a bag of chips and a pile of books nearby.

"Hello Yami-san." Hiro greeted her with a small smile, since he has changed events, it doesn't hurt to check up on her when he can sometimes.

"Hiroto." Yami greeted back to him, stoic as ever and Hiro observed the title of the books she was reading. Noticing the titles were related to a particular subject.

"Reading about food?"

"Yes. Earth has quite a lot of food made from many things" Yami answered, munching on a chip.

"Even compared to some alien planets?" Hiro asked.

"Yes."

"Really? I thought there would be a lot more, especially from planets capable of space travel."

"Compared to the planets I have traveled to, Earth has more cultures in one planet than any other. Other planets most of the time have at least one or two cultures not multiple like Earth." Yami explained.

"Wow…" Score one for Earth. Got more cultures than most of the advanced planets.

Yami placed a potato chip into her mouth, immediately chewing the salty snack to crumbs, her hand already grabbing another while chewing and she moved to bite another but stopped.

She looked at the chip. "... Why would an Earthling make this… Why would they make such food from strange sources?"

"Well I suppose it's because of how creative humans are." Hiro chimed in. "Most things come from people who were curious as to what could happen if they did certain things. Like what happens if they cook certain meat with fire, inventing the concept of using fire or heat to make meat edible, along with many things. In modern times as a business, I guess they do certain things with food to attract more people, it could be intentional or even accidental." Hiro explained.

"Like how Taiyaki was invented." Yami said, looking at the empty paper bag, it was likely filled with Taiyaki a little bit ago.

"How was it invented?" Hiro asked, curious of how it was made, he knew of its origin in Japan but didn't question how and why.

"From what I gathered, the founder of this store named Seijiro Kobe was having trouble selling a similar product before Taiyaki was made, until he decided to make them resemble Tai. A fish that was considered a symbol of luck in this country and Seijiro wanted people to have a taste of Tai but at a lower price." Yami described.

"Oh, that's interesting." It reminds Hiro from his vague memory of how a potato chip was made by accident, maybe it's the same here? He should check before telling Yami, if she didn't already.

"... While Taiyaki is shaped like Tai, it doesn't mean it would taste the same as real Tai. How could this treat become so popular if that wasn't the whole truth? How could it attract so many people before it appeared everywhere?" Yami wondered.

"Well, like you said, Tai is considered a symbol of luck and since it was too expensive, I imagine a poor person who believes what is considered good or bad luck, would want some good luck for a cheaper price. Whether or not it tastes like the real Tai likely didn't matter after people enjoyed the taste of it. Then likely rumors and gossip about how tasty Taiyaki is began to spread, leading up to how popular it is now." Hiro guessed.

"Strange…" Yami commented.

"I suppose it is in hindsight, but it was quite fortunate for Seijiro and many people who enjoy what he invented, like you." Hiro said with a small grin and Yami tilted her head. For some reason her action reminded Hiro of a cat. "Sometimes things can happen and lead to unexpected events."

"Maybe…" Yami said, standing up, grabbing her books and bags.

"Where are you going?"

"I want to read more books." Yami answered, glancing back.

"Well, I guess I'll see you around someday again…" Hiro said and Yami nodded, walking towards the library. "Uh wait!" Yami stopped. "... Before you go." She turned around, facing Hiro.

The reincarnate gave the alien assassin a small, albeit shy grin. "Here's a new topic for you to research in the library if you're interested… Have a Happy New Year…"

Yami nodded "Thank you." And walked away, entering the library.

Later in the day, Yami learned what the New Year Holiday was about. For some it's a fresh new start in a year to accomplish some goals, and or to simply gather and celebrate with people that they have all lived another year, going forward in the future with optimism.

"A fresh start…"

It's February, about a month since Hiro encountered Yami. Even when he visited the library, he couldn't find her. Then again, perhaps Yami needed to find different quiet spots, especially if she is bothered by the Principal of the school he goes to.

"You can wait outside Hiro, it won't be too long." Akari said, entering the next store alone while Hiro waited outside, sitting on a bench with all the bags they gathered from other stores.

Right now, it's almost Valentine's day, Hiro is currently grocery shopping with his mother, every store he looked at was pink and heart themed. Hiro glanced at the people passing by, he noticed that many couples were walking together, holding hands, enjoying each other's embrace.

Hiro glanced the other direction, noticing a familiar shade of brown among the crowd.

"Mikan?" Hiro called out and the girl turned.

"Hiro?" Mikan called back, confirming that he was correct on his guess, Hiro noticed the grocery bags Mikan was carrying.

"I guess you saw the sweet deal on vegetables too?" Hiro said and Mikan nodded.

"Yeah, I always have to get those while I still can." Mikan said and her eyes narrowed, noticing the five large bags of goods. "That's a lot to carry alone."

Hiro shrugged. "Me and my mom are grocery shopping together, she's looking around the next store right now." He explained.

"Oh…" Mikan glanced at a store with Valentine themed posters on the windows. "Hiro, have you received chocolate in school during Valentine's Day from anyone before?" She asked, since in the past, she was the only one who gave her brother chocolate during Valentine's Day, a fact that she often teased him about, so she is curious to know the experience of another guy in the same year as Rito during that holiday.

"Usually I got chocolate from my parents, n-never from anyone in school." Hiro admitted. Unlike other boys his physical age, Hiro isn't really too ashamed that he didn't get chocolate from a cute girl. Especially considering his mental age but for some reason he still felt like he elbowed in the gut for admitting that.

Mikan blinked at the answer. "Really?" She asked, a bit surprised.

"Is that surprising?"

"Yeah, from your mature, reliable personality, combined with your hairstyle." Mikan commented, which is a lot better compared to the plain or messy hair the boys in her school had, it also helped that Hiro looked pretty cool with the haircut. "I thought you would've gotten a few chocolates in the past."

"Oh, well, before we met again during last Summer, my hair was plain, it kind of hid my eyes a little bit which was similar to many guys, making me fade in the background a little bit."

Mikan's thoughtful look disappeared, replaced by a mischievous grin. "So now that you got your haircut, you're more of a player now…"

"I don't know what you're talking about…" Hiro denied but the imouto's grin grew wider.

"Rito and Lala told me how popular you are with girls.~"

Hiro rolled his eyes. "Cause I'm the only guy who looks at a girl's face and not below it, many girls found that attractive." He countered. Mikan sighed and nodded at his point, recalling some boys in her school talking about boobs. "What about you? Do you find yourself under a pile of chocolate and love letters?" He said, changing the subject.

Mikan stiffened and looked away. "No…"

"Really? A great, reliable, mature girl like you isn't popular?" Hiro said with a smug grin, turning the tables on Mikan, who blushed and he noticed. "So that's how it is…"

"Ugh fine!" Mikan said "Okay, I am a little popular at school, I had a few confessions last month."

Hiro raised his eyebrow at the explanation, like the manga, Mikan had gathered quite a few admirers.

"Wow you're only twelve but you're already a heartbreaker?" Hiro gasped in mock surprise, teasing her. "I wonder if Lala was like that too…"

"I'm not!" Mikan quickly replied.

"So that means you're dating?"

"... No..."

"So you are a heartbreaker…" Hiro grinned.

Mikan pouted and turned away, Hiro stifled a chuckle.

"So why did you decline? They weren't good looking?" Hiro asked because he was genuinely curious, there were implications of how Mikan was a bro con towards Rito and that's likely why she kept rejecting boys but Hiro wondered if there were any other reason without Momo making things weird with her suggestions.

Mikan faced Hiro with a frown. "They… It's not that they were ugly or anything but…" She paused briefly, trying to find the right words. "I guess, I don't know any of the boys who confessed to me, so I have no idea what they were like and most of the boys I have met were pretty immature. When I tried to understand one boy in a conversation before, he mostly talked about what they liked doing like video games or sports, I hardly got to express my interests and when I did he didn't like them, it seemed to be the same with most of the boys I talked to…" Mikan explained.

"Oh… I can understand that." Hiro nodded.

"You could?"

"Yeah, when I was little, I didn't really have any interests in children shows or video games like most kids, I mostly liked reading." Hiro said, describing his 'childhood'. "I didn't have any friends to really talk to since my mindset was 'more mature' than other kids, at least that's what my parents said."

"... I think I see what you mean…" Mikan murmured. Actually, she can relate, she only hung out with two friends in school, they are nice to talk with but they don't quite understand some of her viewpoints as well. "Were Rito and Lala your first friends?"

Hiro grinned. "Yeah, they were, including you." Mikan grinned back at his response.

"... So, did you get any confessions before?" Mikan asked, changing the topic.

"I'm pleasantly surprised I didn't get a confession yet." Hiro admitted and paused for a few seconds in silence. "I just jinxed myself didn't I?"

"Yep." Mikan giggled and stepped back. "I have to go home soon, it was nice meeting you."

"You too… Oh! Just in case, can you make sure Lala doesn't use anything weird in her ingredients if she makes chocolate for Rito?"

Mikan winced and nodded. "I will!" She promised. "Bye!"

"Bye." Hiro replied with a wave and a smile, watching Mikan disappear in the sea of people.

"Oh my…"

Oh no…

Hiro turned to face his mother, giving him a sly smile, promising days worth of torment…

"Wait-"

"To think my son would charm such a cute girl.~"

"Mom-"

"In a few more years, that girl could become quite the stunning beauty, you would have to be quick before someone else sweeps her off her feet.~"

Hiro became flustered. "Mom! She's Rito's sister!"

"Oh, she is Rito's sister?" Akari's violet eyes shone, Hiro can practically see the stars in her eyes. "Maybe you can get closer through her brother then… You and Rito could become brother in laws in the future!"

"No! You're jumping to too many conclusions! And even if I did for some reason, that would make things very awkward and weird between me and Rito..." Although privately Hiro has to admit that Mikan is very cute, and has many qualities that if she was older, many, many, guys would find her quite attractive for various reasons other than her physical appearance. But right now she is just the cute, surprisingly mature and reliable imouto.

He's not going to use his knowledge to take advantage of a little girl. That would be creepy…

Akari simply giggled at Hiro's expense.

Later, Hiro felt betrayal as his mother told his father about the Mikan. The torment doubled for a few more days.

It was Valentine's day and Hiro's day at school was quite busy, but for once, it was not because Lala did something, she was just giving everyone normal chocolates, not the aphrodisiac, Hiro vaguely remembered the events of this chapter… Perhaps Mikan stopped her.

But that doesn't matter, what matters now is…

"Here, I made some chocolate for you Akatsuki-san…" A shy girl said, handing the reincarnate some chocolate.

"Thank you." Hiro replied politely with a smile and the girl blushed before hastily walking away from him in a flustered mess. He sighed, placing the nth chocolate into his bag, this is ridiculous… His bag is almost full, he came prepared but he once again underestimated how popular he was.

"Lucky bastard…" Saruyama growled, slightly startling Hiro, and he turned to see Rito's friend, along with some other guys glaring at him. Even Rito was sighing in envy of his friend's popularity.

Hiro rolled his eyes and walked away, heading to the library, hoping to find some peace before another girl gives him chocolate. He needs to find a way to get rid of these chocolates before he comes home, without throwing them into the trash, mostly because that would be a waste of everyone's efforts for gaining the courage to give him a chocolate and for some who made said chocolate by hand. Because if he didn't get rid of these chocolates before going home…

Hiro suppressed a shudder, maybe he can share them with Rito, Lala and Mikan.

Thankfully, Hiro encountered no girl looking to indirectly confess their love to him. Instead, the only girl he saw was Yami again, sitting next to a table with a pile of books nearby.

"Hello again Yami-san." Hiro greeted and Yami lowered her book, glancing at him.

She nodded. "Hello Hiroto." She said before continuing to read.

"Uh…" Hiro looked around, trying to see if anyone was watching him before facing Yami again. "Can I whisper something to you? I want to ask something but it's a bit sensitive" He asked.

Yami paused, contemplating his request for a few seconds before putting her book down and nodded. Hiro cupped his hand around Yami's ear and whispered.

"Do you like chocolate?" Hiro whispered and Yami blinked, staring at Hiro with her eyebrow raised.

"Yes." Yami whispered back, she looked at the bag of chocolates Hiro had.

"Okay, um, can you meet me on the roof after school? I don't want anyone to see me giving you the chocolate I have." Hiro said.

"Why not here?" Yami asked, not understanding Hiro's request.

"Do you know Valentine's day?"

"Yes." She has read some books about the holiday.

"Well, a lot of girls gave me these chocolates, I now have too much to eat alone but I don't want to throw them away but I also don't want people to notice that I'm giving them away to other people. Those girls made those chocolates for me and they would be upset if they knew if I wasn't eating all of their chocolate."

"... Alright." Yami said with a nod. She doesn't quite understand why but she understood enough to know that Hiro might get in trouble if they don't do it discreetly.

"Thank you." Hiro said before leaving the school library.

Afterschool, Hiro went to the roof alone and met Yami, discreetly giving her half of the chocolate he had in his bag, because he suspects Yami had a sweet tooth. The reincarnate walked out of the school while assassin simply leaped away with her inhuman strength and agility to avoid being seen together.

Yami stared at the chocolates Hiro handed her.

"Excuse me, Miss…" Yami turned to see a large fat man with ridiculous facial and head hair, wearing small black round glasses. He was breathing heavily and blushing.

"It's Valentine's Day so can you please give me that chocolate? To receive such a gift from someone like you is-AGH!" A fist made of golden hair crushed him, forming a small crater with his body in the center.

"I hate ecchi people staring at me like that…" Even with his glasses hiding his pupils, the staring made her feel disgusted.

Meanwhile Hiro jogged, catching up to Rito and Lala walking back home together.

"Hey Hiro!" Lala greeted

"Hey Hiro, why did you have to go to the roof?" Rito asked.

"Keep it a secret, I was giving Yami some of my chocolate, I simply have too much, I'm hoping to share it with all of you when we get back to your home Rito." Hiro explained.

"Really? Thanks!" Lala said with a heart warming smile.

"Why not just save it all at your home and eat there?" Rito questioned.

"My parents would know… Their teasing will last for centuries…" Hiro said with a haunted look. Their teases about him and Mikan lasted for days! If they knew his popularity in school…

Rito winced and nodded, understanding Hiro's plight. Being teased by family is not fun and is way too embarrassing.

When they got to the Yuuki household, Mikan saw the amount of chocolates Hiro had, and gave him a look of empathy, understanding what it's like to have too many admirers at school.

Everyone ate their share of chocolates, splitting evenly. Hiro read each letter with a sigh before recycling them, ignoring Rito's occasional glare of envy and Mikan's amused looks. They saved the remaining chocolate for later and Hiro went home, needing to thoroughly brush his teeth to avoid cavities. Maybe even brush twice just in case.

Few days later, Hiro played football (soccer) with the rest of the boys in class, unfortunately he was against Rito, and football was the only sport where Rito isn't clumsy for some reason. While Hiro is far from bad, having the basic capability of directing his legs to kick the ball towards the goal, Rito was at a different level in that sport, capable of doing various tricks and clever maneuvers, a result from many years of practice.

However, Rito fumbled his shot, the ball spun hard, flying right towards a cute green haired girl… Oh it's Run…

Maybe she was the reason why Rito felt like he was being watched earlier…

Hiro decided to let Rito take responsibility as no doubt Run was looking for the main character earlier. He is not going to interfere with that.

A few days after meeting Run, Hiro was shopping, buying some groceries his parents missed earlier for the week, so he had to go. Until he stumbled upon Rito running on all fours like a dog with his tongue out barking from the alleyway and into the streets. Hiro placed his grocery bags down and simply grabbed the protagonist's collar, lifting him up off the ground, something that surprised Hiro.

'I know I have gained some muscle but I didn't realize I was capable of this…' Hiro thought in awe, amazed at his own feat of strength of lifting Rito off the ground. But the amazement disappeared right as Rito's tongue slid off his cheek.

"Agh gross!" Hiro gagged "What the hell?!" Unaware of Lala and a dog coming out of the alleyway.

"Oh it's Hiro! Good job on catching him!" Lala praised Hiro while grabbing Rito and the small dog nearby barked.

"Thanks…" Hiro replied and wiped his cheek. "What's going on?"

"WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF!" The small dog barked like crazy, waving their front paws like human hands… oh that's Rito!

"Rito and the dog switched bodies." Lala clarified, grabbing Rito's body from Hiro.

Rito kept barking, pointing at his body and gestured at the dog's body he was stuck in.

"Rito, I don't understand what you're saying, I don't speak dog like Nana-chan.~" Lala said and Rito the dog sagged. Hiro crouched, staring at Rito.

"He wants to change back to his human body." Hiro guessed, which Rito rapidly nodded to and barked with a positive tone.

Lala blinked "You can understand dog language?" She asked and Hiro shook his head.

"No, I just guessed, based on Rito's body language and his personality." The reincarnate explained, keeping his insightful knowledge a secret. "I imagine becoming a dog is a bizarre experience and with how panicky Rito always looked in an odd situation, he would often ask someone to stop or take a step back." He pointed out.

Lala paused, staring at Hiro with a hint of intensity that he didn't know she was capable of.

"Something wrong?" Hiro asked and Lala blinked.

"Oh no, just… Thinking… Let's switch Rito's body back~!" Lala said, dragging Rito's body to the alleyway with Rito the Dog close by.

While Hiro went back to his grocery bags, Lala was lost in thought.

'Hiro can guess what Rito was thinking without even talking… I want to do that too… Mama told me stuff like this takes time but… I feel like I'm not getting anywhere much with Rito…'

Hiro was in the school library finishing up his homework for the week so he could have free time for his hobbies or whatever adventure Rito ends up in. Especially since he was invited to Haruna's place for her birthday tomorrow. His gut is telling him, something might happen.

He was working on math homework until he heard a soft thump of a book nearby and he turned, finding Yami sitting on the opposite corner of the table from where he was sitting, reading a book about mythical figures in Japan.

"Hello Yami-san, what are you doing here?" Hiro asked and the assassin lowered her book to meet his eyes.

"Reading." Yami simply replied and Hiro shrugged. If he was an anime character he probably would've sweatdropped at the response.

"I'm more curious as to why since you are clearly aware of the public library. That place might have more books than this school." Hiro said, plus there is no doubt Yami had gathered some attention, especially from the male audience, wouldn't she want less attention by going somewhere else?"

"But this library sometimes has books that the public one does not have."

"I suppose that's true." Hiro conceded, uncertain of Yami's reasoning and continued working. For a few minutes they only heard the sounds of writing from Hiro's pencil, the occasional sound of paper flipping from Yami's book, and a peaceful atmosphere formed around the two.

"Ah! It's you!" The Principal exclaimed from the library's entrance, shattering the peaceful atmosphere. Both Hiro and Yami had dark looks in their eyes.

Hiro sighed. "If you could please take care of the trash?"

"With pleasure." Yami replied and her hair transformed into a giant fist, smashing into the Principal's face, crushing his skull against the wall outside the school library, all without a glance.

"Thank you."

"Mm." Yami nodded and returned to reading only to feel another presence, it was unpleasant but it was also angry? It's similar but not quite and it's directed towards Hiroto for some reason. "Hiroto, there is someone spying on you and they seem to be upset."

"Where?"

"Behind your left side."

The reincarnate turned, finding Saruyama peeking between the bookshelves, glaring at him. "Oh…"

"You know him? Is he a threat?"

"Yeah… Well, actually I know him and is he a threat? Uh…" Hiro made a funny look, having various flashes of Rito's friend in the manga. "Nah, maybe a nuisance but not a threat…"

"I see." Yami resumed reading while Hiro sighed, staring at Rito's jealous friend failing to blend in.

The following morning was 'eventful'.

"Damn you, was the majority of the school's girls not good enough?! You got the attention of a cute pretty foreign petite girl!" Saruyama yelled, glaring at Hiro.

"Who?" Rito asked, switching out his shoes.

"A girl with gold blonde hair, red eyes and incredible thighs-AGH!" Saruyama coughed as a golden fist made of hair slammed onto the top of his head like a cartoon, knocking him out and leaving a noticeable bruise on his head.

Rito shrieked and Hiro simply turned to the source, finding Yami at the entrance. "Good morning…" He greeted, albeit stiffly.

"Good morning Hiroto." Yami greeted him and walked towards the school library, uncaring of the stares from many students passing by her.

Hiro and Rito had to carry Saruyama to the nurse's office from his injury, they placed the envious pervert next to mummified principal, both of their injuries were likely due to Yami.

Hiro, Lala, Rito, Risa and Mio came to Haruna's home for her birthday, Saruyama couldn't come since he was concussed by Yami, he tried but Mikado-sensei knocked him out. Good thing she did, Saruyama looked almost like a feral monkey with his bloodshot eyes when he forced himself to move from his concussed state. Hiro can understand that having the chance to hang out with beautiful girls cannot be missed in 'normal' circumstances for Saruyama but why force himself while in such an injured state? It's not like they were going to the beach.

Haruna greeted them all and they entered. Her dog, Maron leaped into Lala's arms, licking her cheek and Hiro walked over, rubbing Maron's back, smiling, always enjoying the feeling of a dog's fur on his hand.

The six enjoyed the snacks and cake, after everyone ate most of their slices, Rito lifted up his bag.

"Now that everyone ate, I got this game for us to play from Saruyama." Rito said with a grin pulling out a colorful cardboard box titled 'Color Twist.'

'Oh it's basically this world's version of twister, or maybe it's someone's knock off version of the game to avoid copyright.' Hiro deduced and his eyes narrowed, recalling that Rito got it from Saruyama.

Now he can see it… Saruyama had the intent to play this game and 'accidentally' touch a girl with how unpredictable it is. No wonder why he tried to force himself to come for the chance.

Rito, Lala and Haruna ended up playing the game, like the 'gods intended' Rito ended up nearly planting his face into Lala's butt and when he moved, his cheek touched Haruna's thigh.

Risa and Mio loved his reactions.

"Muhahaha, it's useless Yuuki…" Mio commented

"The more you struggle, the worse you make things for yourself." Risa finished.

Hiro sighed at their antics. "Good luck…" He said, weakly supporting his friend.

A few minutes later, the positions got more and more… 'awkward'.

"Are they really spinning it and not just telling us whatever color they want?!" Rito questioned as he found himself facing both a boob or a butt from each girl, unable to find a good position to avoid looking.

"Yeah they really have been just spinning." Hiro confirmed much to Rito's shock.

"Really?!"

"Yep, that's the beauty of Color Twist, you are at the mercy of the wheel's amusement!" Risa cackled alongside her friend and Hiro pictured thunder striking nearby.

Another few minutes later, Rito found himself almost sandwiched between Haruna and Lala. Rito's arm was pressed against Haruna's chest but it's clear he is too overloaded and cramped to notice.

Risa spun, it was red, Rito reached closing his eyes, which was a mistake, he ended up grabbing Lala's tail, and like Jenga, they all fell apart.

"Huh, they all fell down." Mio said.

"Yeah but um…" Risa trailed off and Hiro can picture the sweatdrop on her head.

"Ugh! Rito you dummy!" Lala yelled embarrassed.

"What?! All that from touching your tail?!" Rito questioned.

"My tail is extra sensitive. Don't go touching it whenever you feel like it!" Lala said, pouting.

"Uh oh…" Rito and Hiro said, the former was afraid, the latter was sarcastic already seeing the outcome of this. He doesn't need Manga knowledge for this.

"Lala-chi, does that mean…" Mio trailed off

"That tail… You mean it's not an accessory?" Risa finished.

"Huh? Oh yeah, it's something every Devilukian has-"

"AHH! Quiet you idiot! Are you trying to let it slip that you're an alien?!" Rito interrupted in panic, accidentally revealing her identity.

Both Rito and Lala froze, but Hiro simply shrugged.

"Lala-san is an alien?" Haruna said

"Whaat? I knew it!" Risa exclaimed and Rito actually did a face fault on the color twist mat.

"EH?! That's your reaction?!" Rito asked, incredulous to Risa's reaction.

"Sure, why not?" Risa said with a small smile and Mio nodded.

"It's pretty cool to think I have an alien for a friend!" Haruna realized with her eyes sparkling somehow.

'Even Haruna-chan?!' Rito mentally cried out in surprise.

"Considering the humanly impossible feats Lala has pulled off in the past, it's not too much a stretch." Hiro pointed out.

"Yeah, Hiroto-kun is right, Lala beat the olympic record on running when she first came to school." Risa recalled. "I thought she was just really fast but it makes more sense now knowing she is an alien."

"I guess…" Rito conceded, recalling Lala's inhuman abilities.

Much to Hiro's fortune, the first game was eventful enough for everyone with Lala's reveal, he was worried Risa and Mio would rope him into playing the next round, instead they went back home like nothing major happened. Later on, Saruyama spent a day or two glaring at Rito and Hiro.

Hiro went to grab a can of soda from the vending machine at school, which luckily knocked down another soda that got stuck from someone's earlier buy. He grabbed both and turned, finding Yami on the bench, reading a book under the warmth of the sunlight.

Hiro moved to greet her until he noticed a very black spiky haired kid talking to her. Something about the kid was familiar…

The kid suddenly flipped up Yami's skirt with inhuman speed, revealing her, surprisingly white, underwear. Yami blushed and her hair transformed into multiple giant fists, one fist swung but the kid side stepped it, looking at ease. He turned, seeing Hiro. "Onii-chan!" He said, smiling wide.

Oh no.

The perverted brat leaped toward Hiro. "Help me, this girl is scary!" He was quick but the reincarnate was somewhat prepared and stepped back, avoiding the brat's hug.

"Eh Onii-chan?" The brat said, acting confused but there was an odd glint in his eyes, like he was scrutinizing the reincarnate.

"You're not human…" Hiro murmured, grasping the sticky gun hidden in his school bag and glared, wary of the 'kid'.

"Eh what are you talking about?" The kid said, acting ignorant but the gleam in his eyes gave it away.

"You mean you didn't tell this kid to show my underwear?" Yami questioned with an intense look in her eyes, seeing if he was lying, her hair fists primed to crush.

"Yami-san, who else do you think could be equal or be faster than you…?" Hiro pointed out. "He was quick and looked too casual when he dodged your first blow." It was a stark contrast compared to Rito when Yami attacked him, he looked like he was barely scraping past those giant fists, meanwhile this brat looked like he was going to yawn.

Yami frowned, analyzing the kid's face for a few seconds and her eyes widened. "You're Emperor Gid Lucione Deviluke…"

"You got me." Gid shrugged at the assassin and stared at Hiro. "How sharp…" He said with narrowed eyes before grinning. "Well, time to have some fun elsewhere!" He said before disappearing in a blink of an eye.

Yami frowned, her hair transformed back to normal. "So the Emperor of Deviluke is ecchi…"

"Yeah…" Hiro said and handed Yami his soda cans. "You can have this, I gotta find Lala and Rito." He said, running back inside the school.

This is the chapter where Gid meets Rito in person!

Hiro followed the trail of flustered girls talking about a strange kid flipping skirts and groping them. Risa and Mio told him Rito took Haruna and ran into the school.

Hiro ran inside and sighed, trying to figure out where Rito would've ran to protect Haruna from Gid…

But then he felt it, a powerful, intense, almost suffocating feeling from above. The reincarnate froze as images flash before his eyes, and he leaned against the wall. Seeing images of Gid, in his true form, fighting, or rather, he was training. Did he see this in the Manga?

Until the feeling disappeared and Hiro fell on his knees, breathing heavily.

What was that…?

Lala stomped forward, stopping Gid's intense aura. Telling her father off about how he wanted to move the responsibility of emperor to someone else so he could be free of work.

"You're not even considering how Rito feels." Lala pointed out. "I wouldn't be happy getting married so one-sidedly!"

"How he feels…?" Gid questioned, incredulous to the claim.

"..." Lala sighed. "What would Hiro say… Oh right." He would set an example to use as a reference for people to understand more clearly. "Papa, when you and Mama married, did you do it out of love?"

"Well…" Gid lightly coughed and turned away, hiding his face.

"Mama makes you happy, Mama is happy to be with you and you like that too right?" Lala questioned, but she already knew the answer.

"..." Gid seemingly stiffened at Lala's point.

The Alien Crown Princess smiled, taking her father's silence as a yes. "So you can see why I don't want to do the marriage, Rito doesn't have true feelings for me, forcing it wouldn't make me happy because Rito wouldn't be. I want to marry him when he loves me like how Mama loves you…"

Rito is stunned by Lala's speech, his heart feels warm, and the girl turns to face him. "Rito, you're so sweet and kind. Life on Earth has been so much fun… So I thought things would have been okay to just let things continue as they have been… But that's no good is it?" Lala said, nearly muttering near the end, facing Gid.

"Like I said before… I want to make Rito really love me, I'll work hard to make it happen! That's why I want to wait a bit more before the marriage stuff, Papa." Lala said.

"Lala… What are you doing?" Gid asked, his voice now sounding older despite his appearance due to seeing his daughter's resolve.

"So… I finally decided to use this." Lala answered, revealing a new invention. "Mega Mash Memory-kun. With this I can erase everyone's memories of me on Earth"

"Hey! Lala, what the heck do you mean by that?!" Rito questioned, reeling in from the shockingly dangerous device.

"I'm sorry Rito. I want to start over, without the stress of horrible fiance candidates or marriage and Papa threatening to blow up this wonderful planet…" Lala pouted at that last point. "There are times that you were happy with me but I knew it wasn't good enough… With all those scary things in the way, it makes it harder for you to truly love me… I want a clean, fresh start." Lala said, recalling Hiro's insightful advice after Rito snapped at her once. Hiro's points opened her eyes greatly that day, it's what inspired her to create the mind wiping device.

"Please… It's my last indulgence." Lala pleaded with a teary smile. Rito froze, stunned by this extreme decision.

Slam!

The rooftop door slammed open, revealing Hiro, gasping for air from running so hard.

"Lala!" Hiro cried out, seeing the device in her hand and the teary expression she had. Connecting the dots within a second, he moved to draw the sticky gun from his bag "Stop!"

Only for his arm to be stuck inside the bag by some sticky substance.

"What?!" Hiro sputtered and looked to see Lala with her own sticky gun raised at him.

The Alien Princess smiled. "I'm glad you made it on time Hiro, I knew you would guess what I invented and would try and stop me so quickly. You really are a smart guy… I am so thankful to have met you, you've been a great friend." She said and turned to Haruna "Haruna-chan! Thanks for being my friend! I had a lot of fun with you!"

"Lala-san!" Haruna cried out.

"I hope… We can all be good friends again…" Lala said, her thumb over the button.

"Wait Lala! You don't have to-!" Rito yelled, reaching out but it was too late.

"Goodbye everyone…"

An incredible flash of light blinded everyone and knocked them out.

When Hiro woke up, he was still on the school roof, the sticky substance on his arm and bag was gone, along with the self defense gun Lala gifted him with. He looked up to find Rito and Haruna just waking up as well. Gid, Zastin and Lala were gone, not even the small crater Gid formed was there anymore.

"Rito? Sairenji-san?" Hiro said, walking over to the two. "Do you still remember Lala?"

"Y…Y-Yeah." Rito said and Haruna nodded.

"Yes I still do." Haruna answered.

A few seconds later, the human trio then sighed in relief.

"Of course Lala would make a device that would fail." Rito lightly chuckled and Hiro grinned.

"So what do we do now?" Haruna asked.

"I say we all go home, pretend it worked and when we see Lala we just welcome her back." Hiro suggested. "Tell her that we love her and we don't want to forget a single moment with her." Rito and Haruna smiled wide at his suggestion.

"That's a wonderful idea." Haruna complimented.

"Sounds good." Rito agreed.

Haruna returned to tennis, Hiro and Rito walked back together to class.

"Why would she do this?" Rito asked.

"I suppose she might've felt guilt over some of the stress you may have gained in the past when she first arrived and wanted to undo it." Hiro guessed. "Especially when you snapped at her once."

'Lala really is trying her best…' Rito realized. 'Going so far as to erase everyone's memories…'

Hiro and Rito spent the rest of the day in class, with some people occasionally asking where Lala went, the two made up a lie about Lala feeling a bit ill.

Hiro walked back home, relieved that his memories were intact, who knows what the device would've done to his head if it worked? He would've lost his knowledge over the manga!

The reincarnate continued his leisure walk home, until he felt something in his gut… Like he senses that there is something deadly. Something so bad that if he doesn't-

MOVE!

Hiro rolled forward, he heard something break the street right where he was, he grabbed the pepper spray from his bag and stood up, spraying.

The small figure dodged the spray strafing to the side.

"Not bad for a mere Earthling." Gid commented with a small grin, his hands behind his head, intrigued by Hiro's actions.

"W-what do you want with me?" Hiro questioned, nervous, pepper spray pointed right at Gid and had his school bag up as a makeshift shield.

"Relax kid, just testing you out, Zastin made a few reports about you and what you did just now, I'm impressed. Probably would've been a better candidate for Lala than Rito but oh well…" Gid shrugged but Hiro doesn't lower his arm.

"You know that doesn't do anything to me right?" Gid pointed out. "At worst, it would piss me off and I will kill you for it." He said with a toothy grin.

"If you want to k-kill me anyway, then this is better than nothing…" Hiro replied, unwavering.

Gid nodded and shrugged. "Suppose that's true, see ya around…" He said before disappearing in a blink.

Hiro stood there with his pepper spray and his bag up waiting for a few seconds before slacking.

"Holy shit…" Hiro sighed, putting the pepper spray back into his bag, he heard a thump behind him and the sound of a soda can hitting the ground. He turned around, finding Yami lying on the ground next to a can of soda. "Yami?!" The reincarnate shifted the assassin's body, lying her head on his lap. "What's wrong? What happened?!"

"N… N-Nothing…" Yami replied.

Doubtful, Hiro pressed the back of his hand against her forehead and immediately whipped his hand back. "Geez!" It felt like he touched boiling water! "You're having a fever of some sort, you need a doctor!" He said, grabbing his phone, moving to call Lala, she and Peke can fly over with Yami to Mikado faster than he can run. It would ruin the surprise but Yami's forehead is burning hotter than a human is capable of, alien or not that is not a good sign.

'Damn this outdated phone!' Hiro mentally yelled in frustration as he rapidly pressed the arrow buttons to find Lala's contact…

It's missing?!

'Lala deleted herself on my phone as well?!'

"It's… N-Not a big deal…" Yami leaned up from Hiro's lap, trying to stand, in her attempt she nearly fell over on her side but Hiro catches her.

"It is!" Hiro rebuked, grasping Yami's shoulder and dialed the school nurse's office on his phone. "Please be there…"

The phone's ringing stops and he hears a click.

"Hello?" Mikado said, oh good, she's still at school!

"Mikado-sensei! I have a foreign friend who needs your help! She's from a place very VERY far away!" Hiro explained, trying to convey that he has an alien who is in trouble, without anyone listening in.

"I see… Call my personal phone and I'll meet you soon." Mikado replied, calm and professionally. "My phone number is…"

After memorizing the numbers, Hiro dialed Mikado's personal number.

"Tell me the status of my patient."

"It's Golden Darkness, she seems to be having a fever but her head is so much hotter than a human is capable of, it felt like I touched boiling water." Hiro explained, Yami tried to leave but she was too weak.

"I see, I heard of this before, don't worry she isn't dying, there is a simple solution to this. Akatsuki-kun you must head to my home, my alien medical equipment is there, I'll meet you soon, the address is…" Mikado then explained her address.

"Okay, I'll see you soon!" Hiro said before hanging up, he grasped Yami's shoulder and he used his other arm to sweep up her feet.

"What are you doing?" Yami questioned feeling embarrassed in this position.

"I'm taking you to an alien doctor I know of!" Hiro replied standing up, carrying Yami like a bride. Piggybacking would be too unstable if she passes out on the way to Mikado's home, Rito in the Manga was lucky Yami passed out leaning against him the entire time.

"You're taking me to a doctor? There is no need, put me down-Uh…" Yami trailed off, passing out, leaning her head against Hiro's chest.

"Crap!" Hiro cursed, looking at the street signs, determining the correct direction, he began to sprint with Yami in his arms.

Along the way, he met up with Mikado, she did a quick inspection and confirmed that Yami wasn't having a lethal illness, just an illness unique to her. They went to Mikado's home, a mansion that looked haunted. Hiro placed Yami down on a bed next to a large capsule, probably something similar to a Sci-Fi movie he watched as a kid that helps heal people.

Hiro undid Yami's zip while Mikado held Yami in front of her. "You are certain you want to do the back and not the front? This might be the only chance you could get a good look." Mikado teased with a smirk.

"I'm not desperate or insane like some of the guys in our school..." Hiro rebuked coldly as he gently removed Yami's dress. Plus his time reading the manga likely gave him more than enough material to remember and he is older than he looks, feels wrong to look, especially with Yami like this…

"A valid point." Mikado said with a giggle, aware of the antics of the male population of the school. The reincarnate turned away as he removed the lower portions of Yami's dress.

"I'll hold her shoulders." Hiro said, grasping Yami's shoulders while Mikado handled her underwear and dress, removing it.

Hiro couldn't help but notice that for an assassin, Yami's skin seems untouched by scars or bruises, at least on her shoulders and back, her smooth ba-Damn these hormones…

Mikado wrapped Yami in a blanket. "Alright, now carry her into the capsule." She said and Hiro complied, gently lifting the girl up. He placed Yami on the floor of the capsule, leaning her against the wall and walked out. He heard Mikado removing the blanket and closing the capsule, pressing some buttons on the device nearby. "Alright everything should be alright now, so just leave the rest to me." She said, assuring Hiro of Yami's health.

"So, was she experiencing something similar to human fever?" Hiro asked.

"Yes."

"What could've made Yami-san sick?"

"Yami-san?" Mikado questioned before gently shaking her head with a grin. "It's possible Golden Darkness used her powers recklessly and her bodily functions deteriorated from it. The stronger one's capabilities, the greater the burden." She said, "Keep that in mind."

"Yes Sensei, would human remedies like a rice porridge be good for Yami?"

"Yes, outside of transformation, Yami is quite similar to a human and seems to have no problem with Earth food."

Hiro turned towards the door. "If you don't mind if I use your kitchen and food?"

"Not at all, the kitchen is on the other side of the mansion on the right." Mikado directed and Hiro left the room. "Although, I used up everything yesterday and didn't have time to get anything when you called today."

"Not even rice?"

"I do have some but it wouldn't hurt to have more if you are making rice porridge."

"Alright, I'll go do some shopping." Hiro said. "See you later."

Hiro came back with sufficient ingredients, and there was a sale on some green onions. With the ingredients, he began to cook in Mikado's kitchen.

"My, my, Akatsuki-kun, you could be quite the househusband, many girls find it attractive when a man can cook, no wonder why you are popular." Mikado commented, noticing how seasoned Hiro seemed when it came to cooking.

Hiro simply sighed and rolled his eyes at Mikado's comment, ignoring her but it only made the doctor even more smug, taking his silence as a victory. He occasionally cooked in the past, his old life and his new one, especially when both of his parents were sick one time and had to take care of them.

"I'm just making Okayu, it's not that impressive with how simple it is."

"Yes but some people can't cook as confidently as you."

Not really, not compared to Mikan who has no past life experience in cooking, who only had a decade of experience growing up with Rito who had very little skill in cooking. Hiro felt that his cooking was lacking compared to her and he's mentally older.

Mikado left the kitchen, checking up on Yami, the assassin woke up on time and the good alien doctor gave the girl a lecture about her health.

"You ought to thank Akatsuki-kun, he carried you in his arms, drenched in sweat from all the running, and it didn't help that he met the Emperor on the same day as well." Mikado said, activating the capsule's drain, remembering the intense aura she felt during the school day. "You should be fully recovered now." She said, handing Yami a towel.

The assassin dried herself. "It seems so." She no longer feels light headed like before.

After the flash of light at the school, she wanted to hand Hiroto the other soda drink, she didn't want to drink both cans from him. But then Emperor Gid attacked Hiro, she moved to intervene before she realized it, then found herself light headed, leaning against the nearby wall and eventually fell to the ground, the rest was history.

"Now regarding payment for your treatment. I'd be happy to accept Earth Japanese currency." Mikado said.

"Understood." Yami replied, putting on her clothing.

The two heard some knocking on the door. "Can I come in?" Hiro asked, hearing him, the assassin quickly put on her battle dress.

"You can come in Akatsuki-kun." Mikado answered and the door opened, revealing Hiro carrying a bowl of rice porridge on a tray.

"Glad to see you well Yami-san, here, this is for you." Hiro said but his lips pursed, uncertain where to put the food.

"You can use this table and Yami-chan can sit on the bed." Mikado offered, lifting up a small table designed for eating in bed.

"... Very well, thank you for the meal Hiroto." Yami said, sitting on the bed with the rice porridge on a table.

"No problem." He turned to the doctor. "Everything good?" Hiro asked and Mikado nodded.

"Yami-chan is fine, she just needs a good meal and rest." Mikado confirmed.

"Alright, if that's the case, I gotta go home, see you tomorrow sensei." Hiro said.

"Goodbye Akatsuki-kun, stay safe." Mikado said.

"I will, thank you, bye Yami-san, get well soon." Hiro said, waving, Yami nodded, and he shut the door.

Yami turned to look at the okayu, she took a sip, it tasted good… It was soft and almost soothing…

'Akatsuki Hiroto…' Yami thought as she continued to eat, a weird warm sensation filled her chest.

Perhaps it was the food…?

Author's notes:

Thank you all for reaching the end of this chapter, I hope you enjoyed it. Like the other chapters, some events were familiar but still had different variations.

Sorry for taking a while, I have been very busy with my life recently.

Thank you again and have a wonderful day!
