Chapter 6
"What're you going to do with me?" Lloyd wanted to get at least a little bit more information.
"Leave us Roby"
And Roby actually listened, no weird 'stang-zoot', no questions. He left, just like that, like an obedient dog.
"And to answer your question: nothing you didn't know already. You're needed to undo the Coalescence. You're the least destructive and easiest choice we have" Ras answered.
"Wait a minute…You knew I was there? How come you didn't capture me when you had the chance?" Confusion filled the boy's eyes.
"Of course I knew! Someone sliding through cave tunnels is very easy to hear, especially with sensitive ears. Not to mention you weren't one of the quiet ones to me, I've heard ones that move much more quietly. And you gave yourself away, I let you in to see a part of our plot and you immediately decided to run, that was all I needed to see that you were the key, so I sent Arin and Riyu to hunt you down." The speech was so long that Lloyd nearly fell asleep, somehow the boy was still tired.
"Yeah, I still remember that 'Arin and Riyu' part. But… how are you planning to 'undo the Coalescence' anyway?"
"I believe we can answer that." Arin's voice spoke.
Everyone – his family, his friends, his students (excluding Roby) suddenly came in.
Lloyd felt the rage fill his mind, but he tried pushing it back and for now, he succeeded. Instead the boy clenched the bars tighter, gritted his teeth and gave a death stare to the people he called his 'family'.
The green ninja chuckled.
"Wow. You called the whole cavalry for me. I'm so honored, but what's the occasion?" This little remark somehow came out in a very mocking voice, even Lloyd was not expecting that.
"Woah, chill, Green bean, no one's here to kill you" Cole spoke in a manner that was like he didn't betray Lloyd a few hours ago.
"Yeah, all we need is to get your power out, undo the merge and everything will be fine again!" Nya tried to talk in her 'cheer you up' tone she used when Lloyd was feeling down.
"'Everything will be fine again' – oh blah, blah, blah. The thing that you want to do will frickin' kill me! Do you even know that?! Or have you accepted that your little brother is going to die, just because you didn't have patience?" Lloyd felt his rage, filling his head, yet again, but this time, he let it.
"Lloyd, you do not understand our objective, you will not die in the process, so, please do calm down. Your temperature is increasing to dangerous levels, it is going to have some consequences, for example: rash decision making-"
The vengestone bar that Lloyd was clutching started to crumble. His teeth and fingers seemed to get sharper.
" I don't need a medical dictionary right now, I need my brother!" The boy was holding back his tears and anger, but a tear managed to seep through.
"Wait, Lloyd! Just try to calm down!" Sora started looking distraught and scared… of him.
"Just be civil about what you are doing, this is not the way." Zane tried reasoning.
"Lloyd, calm down, nobody needs you going wild right now. We've already got enough on our hands." Arin also tried to calm down his ex-sensei any way he could, but started backing away step by step and held his hands above his chest, as if trying to protect himself.
A sinister chuckle filled the little space all of them were staying in.
"'Just try to calm down'?
'Nobody needs you going wild right now'?
'Be civil'?
I'll show you how civil I can be!"
The vengestone cage broke in an instant. A purple powerful force filled the tiny cave.
Ras was thrown across the room.
An oni appeared near the broken cage, two of his higher hands pointed to Ras in a throwing position.
It had four hands, blazing rage-filled eyes, horns, sprouting from it's forehead, very sharp fangs, weird marking all over it's body and weirdest of all: it was golden.
"W-What is that?" Each and every Lloyd's student asked the same question at the same time.
"W-We're not entirely sure, but my guess is-" Nya tried to answer, but was to stunned to speak, when a ball or purple flames nearly hit her.
"It appears to be Lloyd's oni form." Zane quickly finished and also started evading the creature's blasts.
A purple slash nearly hit Arin, but Cole managed to save him.
"And it looks like it's very angry."
