In the previous chapter Artemis let it slip to a few on her secret past and it seems red-x is keeping a close tab on them from a distance. Though someone gonna be gunning for that theif soon as someone still adjust to the status as a mole in the team. Sorry though its been so long since I last did a chapter doing the RWBY chapters and fixing my grammer since alot of you complain about made me wanna revist old stories and work on my grammer. Chapter 41: X-Marks The Spot

December 15th 2:23pm

It was a few more days after the team had their revelation of who was who parents. They've been doing their best to handle this new development and the new problems in the world. Along with that they've been trying their best to figure out what the so called lights plans are next. Although with the red arrow staying with them it's been better lately with one other archer having him around. Ever Since Artemis let it slip to them that she was the daughter of villains for some reasons he's been treating her quite better at times.

Things have been fine though not for a couple of them as Delilah was rather hesitant to talk to her friends at times. Though it made things slightly sour between some as doing their best to keep them together was m'gann and wally actually. The tried to lighten the atmosphere up but it was rather hard as they were eating breakfast with him groaning

"Come on jinx we've been telling you she aint some sort of spy"wally said as jinx was covering her ears with headphones to block him out and the others right now with a nearby leonid speaking up

"I still do not think she is spy"leonid said

"We know you do which we appreciate it though it's kind of upsetting how the league put you on mission leave for a while"m'gann said as delilah hated the thought of being on mission leave for now but she hasn't felt well in the past few days as she groaned rubbing her head

"Well i haven't been feeling great…weird to hear i have a brother though…i'm processing that still"deliah replied

"We all are guys who seem all monkish and stuff. I mean all he does everyday is meditate. Dick won't stop spying on him"Wally said peering over a edge seeing jericho meditating in the center of the cave like usually as joining them being welcomed here in a way was paula coming around a corner with a box of things to try and make the place feel more like it was christmas time

"I'm back from the store. The people here are rather sweet and the ocean view is very nice"paula said as helping her was kaldur setting a box of christmas ornaments down on the table

"It is a lovely place but let me help you with that ma'am"kaldur offered but she refused

"Ma'am listen i have handle worse things in life this is just one of them i've gotten used to"paula said placing the box on the counter as liking the optimize was wally

"Hey it's nice to have a positive outlook on everything besides right now seems two archers are getting along"wally teased roy and artemis who both stared at him

"You think i can pink his stupid arrows on his head on a wall"Artemis asked

"You have more luck hitting his hair, it's a dead giveaway and makes him a target"Roy replied as it made kaldur find it strange how the two have been getting along now but could tell that maybe there was more to it but left it be for now until they were ready to say it.

"Ohhhh you two a thing"misha asked as the two stared at her backing away from each other

"Nuh uh eww gross i'd never date some jerk like him"artemis said

"Yeah and i uh….have other taste in mind"roy said as there was a pause as messing with him was dick close by dressed in his outfit as he laughed a little

"Would that include artemis dear sister"robin said as he eyed him for that to some shock hearing she had a sister

"Wait you have a sister?"jinny asked as she glared at dick who didn't seem bothered right now except he was leaving which she noticed confusing her as speaking on that covering for her was wally

"Oh right her met her once actually she's a cool kind of cat like"Wally said as they were lucky they didn't push more into it

"Must suck she the older one or younger one"connor asked not really having his own siblings if you will in a way

"Older but uh is it me or has robin been acting weird lately"artemis asked as that was a little confusing on what she meant

"Define weird i mean he's always a little strange at times searching for anything being a detective"m'gann replied as she was helping take out a few christmas ornaments for the tree they planned to set up here actually as pausing for a moment was jinny as he has been acting strange lately

"Huh you know he has been acting weird lately last night while i did maintenance he came in grumbling to himself from the zeta tube"jinny said as that concerned them

"Then I shall see what is troubling him. Artemis a word,"kaldur said, worrying her as she followed him with Roy doing the same. As they did right now walking around with a scared look peering around a corner was piper which delilah noticed

"Oh uh hi"Deliah said but the little girl gasped hiding behind the wall scared which made her confidence not be the best right as noticing her acting scared was m'gann who floated over. As she did it made the child hide more but she tried to not appear as a threat

"Its okay where friends remember uh where well ummm red-x coworkers"m'gann said but the little girl didn't trust them as she ran off into the cave as sighing was wally right now

"Great the little girl is scared of us are we stuck on babysitter patrol"wally said

"Guess we are while they deal with robin let's go"deliah said as she stood up but as she did conner noticed something right now. That she was standing underneath him as he looked down with a surprise look on his face she was maybe at 5.7ft in height as he stared at her

"Is it me or are you shorter than me now"connor asked as that made delilah pause as she looked at him with shock. He was right she was staring up at him not down like usually as this was a puzzling thing as going huh was wally

"Well that's weird but I mean you do have power that can increase your height and stuff. Along with that maybe it's your true height or you just uh shrunk by accident"wally said as she didn't care shrugging her shoulder walking to find piper as they decided to join with them

With artemis and kaldur right now roy was walking fast catching up with them

"What are you all doing right now"Roy asked as kaldur eyed him for a second before deciding to have a small chat

"It's strange you are asking that because it would suggest you and Artemis are now friends. Lately you have something to share on this development"kaldur said scaring her but the archer covered for her right now

"Just gonna say i did a bit of integrating on my own with her when we went to gotham. Seems she's shooting straight from her background though…i think we should include her on who might be possible moles"roy said to the atlantean surprise but he could trust his friend with that intuition;.

"Agreed do you have any suspects"kaldur asked

"Hold on, you still think there's a mole? I mean if there was wouldn't they have just whipped us out when we found out"Artemis asked knowing she wasn't but she still had her connections to her family which might be used against her but roy sighed

"Look their might be one still i mean superboy is a clone from cademus whos to say he doesn't have some killswitch in his brain"roy stated as it seemed logically

"It would make sense for such accusations but m'gann and m comm i have a feeling they would not be a mole"kaldur said

"Agreeing with you their because their is no way their spies i mean…their weird but their martian guy niece and nephew"artemis said

"Which is exactly why J'onn said he has hundreds; he just met them. Though i'm putting two new suspects on the list jinx and leonid along with his sister"roy said to their surprise that he would say that right now

"Why them? I mean jinx maybe but leonid seems to be nice"artemis asked as that was why

"That's why because he's also a experiment and that brother of wraiths real family was sp–"he was stopped by the blonde

"Whoa hold up they aint her family because i have a gut feeling she didn't even know. You heard what that jericho guy said she had mental blocks in her head put by him…..they can't have contacted her she just met these guys"Artemis said as they were unsure but kaldur heard something as he shushed them

They stared at him for a moment as they did"what's up"Roy whispered as he motioned to the front as the two sneakily followed him. As they did they saw robin looking around before taking a back entrance out of the cave which artemis was shocked they had as a wall was moving up before closing

"Did he just take a secret exit out of the cave"artemis asked

"He did and all in full gear too, something doesn't feel right here. You think he's pulling a batman"Roy asked

"Perhaps let us follow him quietly"kaldur siad as the two agreed

Happy harbor 3:45pm

After gearing up for their little tailing mission the three of them began to follow robin through the streets of happy harbor. Unlike Gotham it was mainly light out and all sunshine and rainbows but he made his way from rooftop to rooftop sneakily making his way through the town as they kept a decent distance away from the boy wonder. While they followed him they were curious what he was doing now of all the times now.

"What is he doing out on broad daylight i mean it's not like him to do this for a solo gig"artemis said

"You don't know him like we do. He does this sometimes for training but geared like that he's on a mission and bats might not know or he does"red arrow said as they kept following him as for maybe about twenty minutes they were out of town now as they managed to reach the coastline as they did eyeing the place was kaldur.

Because they were approaching a more abandoned looking coastline right now as there seemed to be some problems here because this just spells a gun deal or a drug deal.

"It seems that he has gone here do you know the area"kaldur asked artemis who really didn't know it that well

"Not that well but if i recall m'gann told me that this is a part of some abandoned pier they've tried to tear down. But a small gang lives here that just cause trouble now and then nothing too serious"artemis said as they pushed on ahead as they did they failed to notice the day was slowly losing it as the sun was getting darker with the orange haze painting the back of the skies behind them

Once it did immediately they saw what she meant by an abandoned pier. It was some small old fun amusement park small enough for the pier but it looked like the waves made the metal rust away along with the wood with algae and such around the place. With some seagull squawking but kneeling behind a ruined hotdog stand was robin narrowing his gaze

Before he turned his eye back seeing kaldur behind him glaring at him

"I'm busy go back to the cave now"Robin said

"You aint getting rid of that easy birdboy that brings you here to an old and abandoned pier. Not here for your fellow birds i take it"Artemis asked to his surprise seeing her but he had business here right now

"Business something personal i need to deal with"robin said

"And what would that be?"red arrow asked before a familiar voice spoke up to them actually

"That would be me right now kiddies how ya been"a voice said as they turned back as sitting on a park bench was red-x as artemis drew her arrow back aiming straight for his mask as she did he wag a finger at her

"Ah ah blondie i wouldn't do that because if you do then your dead"red-x warned but she had a clear shot and he was outnumbered

"Your out number and i got a clear shot buddy"artemis replied

"Uh, remember the last time we met? I kicked your butt…a superman clone a martian and the fish boy."red-x warned but right now being the meditator in this situation was robin actually

"Wait, stop! He's not a spy"robin said as two of them didn't buy that

"And how would you know for sure? He left the base with a smoke cloud and ditched his tracking chip. The league are high alert for him and we need answers on why he left the team when suspected as a mole"kaldur said but red arrow reminded him of something

"He was the one for that assassination attempt that spilled info on it. He's a good source. Though…i have a feeling you've been sticking around for the last few days because of what's in the cave"red arrow said with the thief looking away as he shrugged his shoulder

"Maybe I'm here to get my old stuff from my room, find my prints. Good luck, I'll keep it clean"red-x said, making Artemis growl as she fired her arrow at him. But swiftly red-x dodged it before snatching her arrow breaking it making her mad they take time to make as he ditched it to the side with a small hit of gas coming out from it

"Nice try with the gas arrow but i'm here to help i promise"Red-x said

"Likely story for the criminal"artemis stated as he would rat her out but eyed robin who narrowed his gaze as they met recently and he made a deal with the boy wonder as the thief sighed for a brief second

"Fine, fine , just here to make a deal with the bird boy here since I owe you all for saving that little girl from being dead. I care for the kid but….well they should be here soon"Red-x said

"They?"kaldur asked before something was heard as he shushed them. Ducking back behind the building right now the sound of motor boats was heard suddenly from a nearby ladder climbing up where a few men in sharp dress suits confused them. As from the nearby building walking out where a few guys dressed in streetwear and such but they had something on smiley face mask that looked creepy

"Ughhh who are these creeps"Artemis asked

"Smileys. Bunch of drug out thugs who wanna make a quick buck or two heard their common in this town sometimes. Not much is none except their leader being a pure nutcase and a psychopath at heart like the rest of them. But the big surprise is coming out soon."red-x said making them even more confused

Kaldur looked on ahead with a straight face as he did from the men in the sharp dressed suits stood out to him. A caucasian man with a lean face and high cheekbones. With him having black hair and a gap between his incisors he had a toothpick in his mouth. While he wore a dark blue suit with a white shirt and red tie with a wide brimmed fedora.

Though the atlantean recognized the criminal immediately"tony zucco that is…'he paused eying robin who stared at him as he gripped his fist tight seeing the man their

"My parents murder"robin said which caught artemis off left field hearing that

"Wait wait…he…he…murdered your parents which makes him…"She paused as the red arrow spoke up knowing that this was now eyeing red-x who nodded. They watched from the shadows as tony chewed his toothpick with one of the smileys approaching him

"Got the goods?"the smiley asked as he spat it to the ground before replacing it with a new one

"Course i do i keep my word you supplied us with a distraction for the league and if we get lucky bats won't be drawn to gotham for a little terrorist attack"tony said making robin more angry that he would do that to his mentor as they watched with tony snapping his fingers. From one of the sides two more well dressed mobsters set down a crate as he was handed a crowbar

Placing it on the lip of the crate he thrusted it up tearing the contents off to reveal what was inside. That being a line of automatic rifles with a few explosives as one of the psycho thugs took it up laughing for a bit

"This will make them pay for how society has treated us ha ha ha ha"the smiley laughed as Tony cleared his throat rubbing his fingers together for the cash as the smiley growled at him snapping his fingers. With one tossing a paper bag to them as a mobster picked it opening it seeing cash inside

"You got the cash we'll be leaving"The smiley said

"Hold up now gotta count to make sure it's all there now"tony said as he nodded to his men to start counting the cash. As they where right now robin eyed them down knowing this was his only chance to catch the killer of his parents before he bolted from cover to their shock

"Oh no"red arrow said, aiming his bow as robin threw birdirangs at them knocking two smileys down as a mobster turned to see his boot hitting him in the face. This stunned the gangsters and thugs seeing the bats sidekick here

"It's the beatfreaks sidekick! The hell is he doing here?!"the mobster asked

"Who cares, waste him!"Tony shouted as they opened fire onto the bird themed hero as he did red arrows fired a couple arrows in quick succession disarming two of them. Before artemis dashed forward sliding as she pulled an arrow back before lining the shot sinking it. As she fired it in the barrel of a smiley rifle before it blew up as they screamed hitting a wall groaning. When they got up she whacked them in the face with her fist as one snuck up from behind grabbing her laughing

"Ohhhh you're pretty I'm gonna enjoy skinning you alive"the smiley said creeping her out before she threw her head back knocking them into the path of red-x who spin kicked them to the ground. As he eyed the guns on the pier before throwing a few red-x shaped throwing devices. Once they were stuck they began to beep which Tony noticed making a run for it before they went off sending him flying as he screamed hitting a wall.

With kaldur using the nearby water as the tattoos glowed on his body as he sent a wave of water their way crashing straight into some of the thugs and smileys here. This knocked them off balance with Tony coughing as he was soaked from the water. As he was coughing walking over kicking him hard in the chin was robin to the four surprise he did that right now

"Whoa! Robin what are you doing?"Artemis asked as the boy wonder got on top of the man growling at him as Tony looked at him wondering what he did to piss him off.

"What i do to piss you off kid?!"tony asked before the boy wonder held him over the pier with the waves crashing to the man shock as he stared him down which made kaldur needing to alleviate the tension here

"Robin what are you doing?"kaldur asked

"None of your business right now he needs to pay for what he did to me….to what he did to two innocent people"robin said as there was a shock on what he was implying

"Your talking about killing him aren;t you..d….robin that is not the point of this you can't just…do that to someone"artemis said as he growled at them snapping

"Do you know what he took from me?!"robin shouted as they've never seen him this made before as they could see the rage fueling behind his mask right now as he stared at the man in his grip who life he held in his hands

"He took innocent people away and he got away with it. People are orphans or are now living on the streets because of you. You…took them away you took my parents away do you even remember who you took"Robin asked as tony screamed seeing the crashing waves below him

"I don't know?! I've whacked tons of people for my boss. It's called business you damn psycho!"tony said as robin was ready to do it as he was ready to throw him. But a hand was placed on his shoulder looking up he was shocked as standing their was his mentor batman as he eyed his ward down as robin stared at the man in his hands who had fear in his eyes

Slowly robin threw tony to the side as kicking him in the jaw was red-x as he eyed the dark knight but first paid his attention to his ward placing a hand on his shoulder again

"You know what you where about to do was wrong its what a criminal does"batman said as the sidekick sighed for a moment eyeing his friends looking away but speaking up for him was artemis

"Well from my understating he killed his parents and right now i am glad you didn't you know"Artemis said as robin sighed rubbing his face in shock what he was just about to do right now before he came back to his senses

"Batman i'm sorry i just…i've been in contact with red-x for two days now and we spoke. He said he could give me a lead to tony if i do him a favor"robin said to their surprise but not batmans it seems which red-x noticed scoffing

"Let me guess you knew"red-x asked

"I did but from my understanding you've been in happy harbor this entire time and in gotham. Waiting to make contact with the team or robin why?"batman asked as the thief shrugged his shoulder

"Got wind of a little thievery ring going down on an old circus he ran with back in the day. Along with that…i wanted to prove i ain't the spy and i'm gonna tell you who to watch out for"red-x said

"Oh and we should believe you?"artemis smugly asked him as he eyed them down he was a thief but he wasn't a villain

"I steal for my own gain. I hurt no one except for a couple bruises. I never kill or rob from the poor, I mainly take from the rich. I keep my name and identity secret besides..i suggest keeping an eye on the martian and the superman clone and maybe the rusky. Along with slade wilson's kid"red-x said as artemis was sick of them pinning things on her

"Oh my…for the last time she's not a spy!"artemis said

"We cannot be too sure but why are you telling us this"kaldur asked

"Because if I recall working under two faces, he and his dear sister had a source, probably the same ones here, that wanted to draw the league's attention here. Something might be going down here soon"red-x warned as he eyed the dark knight who eyed him before doing one thing that caught some of them off guard

"Keep an eye on it for us and that will prove if you are eligible to rejoin the team"batman said to artemis shock wanting to argue but kept her mouth shut as the thief chuckled giving a salute with a finger before throwing a smoke pellet disappearing but not before leaving something behind a small black christmas present all wrapped up neatly

Mount justice 7:32pm

Back with the others they had a bit of trouble taking care of a kid of all things because she was running around hiding like crazy. Wally caught her but it made her cry for a bit before m'gann tried to make some silly faces which failed. As they were fixing up the christmas tree they have putting decoration up with the little girl sitting on the couch upset as staring at her concerned was conner

"Kind of concerning how sad she is"conner pointed out

"Well she's a kid who own parents almost got her killed…poor rascal probably broken hearted for that thief being gone"ginny said as delilah eyed the kid for a bit as she was setting up the decoration hoping for something better soon as she felt a little like her since she was pretty much related to a bad guy now in a way just like her

As they were setting things up the others came back which wally noticed especially surprised to see batman himself here

"Uhhhh okay did you guys bribe the batman or blackmail him to come here where decorating a tree something i'm sure he hates"wally said but dick sighed holding that gift right now as he tucked it under his arms

"It's nothing just went out doing a bit of shopping have a gift for the tree ready to be placed under it"robin said

"Huh thats nice who it for pretty gothy"jinx stated

"Gothy?"leonid and misha both asked

"Don't worry about it beside uh turn on the local news"Artemis said as they shared looks with them doing that as they did it showed the current police arresting the smiley members and the gangster at the harbor with the anchor reporting on it now

"Tonight is a special day here in our coastal city. Tonight we struck a rich source of crime. Our own petty gang of crooks, the smileys, have been caught along with that a infamous member of the maronis crime family, tony fat zucco, has been arrested. With a small calling card from a fellow bat and bird in town this time of year"the anchor said as it showed a picture of tony hanging upside from a light pole with a calling card of batman and robin their making wally eyes go wide staring at dick who smiled a little as he slipped that present under the tree looking to the exit of the cave

As right now perched on top of a mountain range was red-x who sighed to himself enjoying some time out in the cold this night hoping he made good on that favor he owed him.

Seems we met some new foes with robin confronting the man who took his parents. I don't know in the universe if he ever did confront the man but with the teen tians show red-x and him always did have this sort of bond. I wanted to explore that but it seems red-x might be their allie after all. Thanks for reading!
