Chapter 18 Intruder

Haru was walking at night towards the dorms but then he felt someone nearby, he follows the signature and sees Ruby facing someone covered in darkness.

"Hey!"Haru charges at the person.

She looks back and got surprised to see him.

She escaped and Haru looks at Ruby."Did you see who it was?"

"No."She shakes her head.

"We have trouble."Haru frowns.

Next day

Ruby and Haru were at elevator and arrived at the last floor.

"I told you not to press all the buttons."He said.

"It was a accident."She said.

"Come in."They went inside and saw Ozpin with Glynda and Ironwood.

"Sorry it took so long. Someone accidentally hit all the buttons on the elevator on the way up here."Ruby said."It wasn't me."

"Thank you for coming, Ruby, Haru. How are you feeling?"Ozpin said.

"Fine."Haru said.

"Okay, I guess. I'd feel better if my bad-guy-catching record wasn't O-for-three."Ruby said.

They stared in silence.

"Okay, so that's the tone we're going for, got it."Ruby said.

"Ruby, Haru, I feel it's appropriate to let you know that I think what you did last night is exactly what being a Huntress is all about. You recognized a threat. You took action. And you did the very best you could."Ironwood said.

"Thank you."Haru and Ruby said.

"Now, the general here has already informed us of the events that... transpired last night, but now that you've rested, we were wondering if you had anything to add."Ozpin said.

"Was anyone else with her? Did she look familiar to you at all?"Glynda said.

"I... I don't know. She was wearing a mask, and she never said anything to me. But I know she fought with glass. I don't think that was her Semblance, though. Her clothing lit up whenever she attacked."Ruby said.

"Save for the glass, that sounds like the woman I fought the night we met Ruby."Glynda said.

"What?"Haru looks at Ruby in surprise.

"Embedding Dust into clothing is an age-old technique. It could have been anyone."Ironwood said.

"Wait. You think this girl is connected to Torchwick and the White Fang?"Ruby said.

"Most likely after what you said."Haru said.

"It's possible. But we still lack the required evidence to link the two together."Ozpin said.

"Actually, I... I think I remember her saying something about a hideout, or something, in the southeast. Just outside the Kingdom."Ruby said.

"Interesting."Ozpin said.

"Also... Something about her feels off, like a weird energy."Haru said.

Ozpin nodded as if he knows what Haru is talking about."Thank you for your cooperation. Why don't you go and spend some time with your team? You have a big day ahead of you."

"Okay."Haru said and they left.

"And please try and be ... discreet about this matter."Ozpin said.

"Yes sir."The two said.

After they left Ironwood looks at Ozpin."Did Haru really felt the power she took?"

"Possibly, it wouldn't have surprised me if he did. He's a natural born magic user."Ozpin said."He could be the one to defeat her."

Back at Team RWBY's dorm

The girls were around them and they were talking.

"That was a risky move."Weiss said.

"No, I think you both handled it well."Blake said.

"I hope so."Ruby said.

"Ruby, just the fact she got scared is enough for a victory."Haru said to cheer her up.

"I'm sure everything will be alright, Ruby. Oh, I know what will cheer you up!"Yang goes to get a cylindrical package.

"What's that?"Ruby asked.

"I don't know yet. Dad sent it to us. I thought we could open it together!"Yang said.

"Ooooh! Something from home!"Ruby said.

Ruby zooms over to Yang and wraps herself around Yang, trying to take the cylinder from her. The package opens, and another cylinder, hairy and black, falls out onto the floor and starts to shake. The object suddenly transforms into a corgi. Team RWBY leans in, staring at it.

It barks making them surprised with different reactions.

"ZWEI!"Ruby cheers.

"He sent a dog?"Blake said.

"In the mail?"Weiss said.

Ruby smiles holding Zwei as he licks her face.

"Oh, he does stuff like this all the time!"Yang said.

Blake was now on Ruby's bed."Your father or your dog?"

Weiss looks at his cute face."Are you telling me that this mangy... drooling... mutt is going to wiv wif us foweva? Oh, yes he is, yes he is! Oh, isn't he adorable!"

"Please keep it away from my belongings."Blake said.

"Now this is exactly what happened with Cerberus."Haru said.

Cerberus came out making Blake more scared and Zwei goes to smell him as they ran around after each other.

"Aw!"The three other girls said.

"Would all first-year students please report to the amphitheater?"Glynda talked through the speakers.

"Well, we can't exactly leave him here while we're gone for the week."Weiss said.

Yang saw a letter and reads it."Dear girls, I've got to leave the island for a few days, so I'm sending Zwei to you to take care of. Enclosed is all the food you should need. Love you both, Taiyang."

Then dozens of cans came out burrying Zwei inside of it.

"What is he supposed to do with that?"Weiss said.

Zwei came out as a can oppener came out of it.

"I'm surprised he can fit so much stuff there."Haru said.

"It's a trick he can do."Yang said."Well, that settles it! Come on girls, Zwei will be here when we get back!"She goes off.

"See ya later Zwei."Haru said as Cerberus follows him.

Weiss leaves while talking to Zwei."Oh, I'll miss you so much, we're going to be best friends, I can't wait to see you."

Blake jumps hops away to avoid him and Ruby looks at Zwei before smiling.

At Vale

Cindy was flying around the house but Sally catches her.

"Cindy, please don't show off your magic."Sally said.

"Why not?"Cindy asked.

"Because there are dangerous people out there that will go after us."Sally said.

"Oh... Okay."She sits down on a chair.

Sally looks outside and said:"I hope we can be safe, since theres something wrong about to happen later on."

Note:Haru faced off against the intruder but she escaped knowing she couldn't fight them both at the same time, Zwei also appeared and Sally knows something bad will happen later.
