Part 9
Caitlin walked into Jitters just before nine and headed up to the counter to get her coffee. She smiled at the girl working the counter.
"Morning Kimberly." Said Caitlin
"Hey Caitlin. Andrea is waiting for you upstairs. She already paid for usual." Said Kimberly
"Thanks."
Caitlin took the coffee and headed upstairs to meet with the Alpha she was on good terms with. She found the older blond woman sitting at a table just out of sight of the rest of the coffee shop. But still had a good view of the place. Caitlin sat down across from her knowing the older wolf had not only heard her footsteps but most likely smelt her approach.
"Is it true Laura Hale is dead?" asked Andrea
"Yes."
"I am sorry about your friend. Was it hunters?"
"No. It was a wolf to steal her Alpha spark. This new Alpha bit a teenage boy. I started to train him. But had to leave it to his friend to help him gain control. I also told Derek Hale to do something that will be hard for the sour wolf. To be nice and help the kid."
"Do you know who this new Alpha is?"
"Unfortunately yes. It is Peter Hale. He has recovered a lot more then he wants anyone to know. He is going after who he holds responsible for the fire that killed his family."
"That is just going to draw hunters to Beacon Hills."
"It already has. Chris Argent and his team are already there."
"Well at least it is not Gerard or the Calaveras."
"The Calaveras follow the Hunter code. Gerard doesn't. I gave you the warning about him being here as a courtesy. I am the one he is after. I am an Omega after all."
Andrea placed a necklace with a star and crescent moon on it on the table.
"Caitlin, I know you have declined the invite to my pack before. But you will be safer if you wear that at least until Gerard leaves town."
Caitlin nodded and pick up the necklace and put it on. Caitlin got up and headed out a few minutes later. As she left noticed Gerard sitting in a corner watching her. She knew that she would have to be careful. He maybe a dangerous psychopath but he wasn't stupid. He wouldn't come after her in the popular coffee house. But if he got her alone then all bets were off.
Barry knocked on Caitlin's door just before noon. He had missed his girlfriend. Cisco stood next to him. The door opened and he smiled seeing the woman he was in love with.
"Hey Cait." Said Barry
"Hey Barry. I missed you. Cisco glad you could come. Crystal will make you guys a drink if you want." Said Caitlin
"Crystal said you have something to tell us." Said Cisco
"Come in and get a drink I think you are going to need it." Said Caitlin
Barry and Cisco came in. Cisco took the drink that Crystal handed him. Barry pulled Caitlin into his arms and kissed her.
"You know nothing you can tell me will change how I feel about you. I love you, Cait." Said Barry
"I hope that is true. I have wanted to tell you about this for a while."
"Cait, what is it?"
"Barry, Cisco, you guys will want to sit down to hear this."
The two boys sat down and Crystal handed her sister a drink even though she knew it would do next to nothing for her. Taking a deep breath Caitlin turned to the man she loved and the one that she considered the brother she never had.
"Ok I know my sister told you that I know that Barry is the Flash. Cisco, I also know you are Vibe. That is because I am not normal. I am not a meta. But I am something. Something different and if the wrong people were to find out they will kill me." Said Caitlin
"What do you mean?" asked Cisco
"Well there is just one way to do this. That is just to say it. I am a werewolf." Said Caitlin
"You're joking right? There is no such thing as werewolves." Said Cisco
"I am not joking. Werewolves are very real. So are a few other supernatural things." Said Caitlin
"Caity, just show them." Said Crystal
"Good one. Everyone know that werewolves only transform during the full moon. That was a week ago." Said Cisco
"Actually that is only partly true. I can shift anytime I want. I have been a werewolf since I was thirteen."
Caitlin closed her eyes and when she opened them they were glowing a golden yellow. She showed the boys her hands. Her nails had grown into claws. She opened her mouth to reveal sharp looking fangs. Cisco let out a high-pitched scream. Barry just looked at her not saying anything. Caitlin shifted back to her regular look.
"Cisco, I am not going to hurt you. I never hurt anyone. I know you have questions so go ahead and ask."
"How did you become a werewolf?" asked Barry
"I was bitten. But there are also born werewolves."
"If you bite me, am I going to become like you?" asked Cisco
"No. One I am not sure it would work on a meta. Two I am not the right kind of werewolf to change someone."
"Why because you were bitten and not born a werewolf?" asked Cisco
"No that is not the reason. It's because I am not an Alpha. I am depending on who you ask either a Beta or Omega. Alphas have glowing red eyes. While both Betas and Omegas have either gold or blue glowing eyes. Alphas are the leaders of the pack. Betas make up the rest of the pack. Omegas are lone wolves. Wolves without a pack. It could be for any number of reasons. Some are the survivors of the killing of their pack. Like me. Some are kicked out for some reason. They may have betrayed their Alpha and ran for their life. Someone may have over thrown the Alpha and they ran for not going along with it. Some just choose to be alone for their own reasons. The last ones are the ones that don't normally last long. Wolves not only make the Alpha of a pack stronger but are stronger themselves."
"Cait, what happened to your pack?" asked Barry
"Most of them including my Alpha. The one that bit me. Were killed in a fire that destroyed their house. The official cause is listed as an electrical fire. But the few of us that are left know it was arson. Besides myself two others weren't at the house at the time of the fire. Another made it out barely alive. My friend that was killed recently was one of the ones not home at the time of the fire. She and her brother were at the high school for activities. Their uncle madeCait out and has spent the last six years recovering."
"Who would kill them?" asked Barry
"Hunters. They are supposed to follow a code. We hunt those that hunt us. The thing is not all eight people who died in the fire were werewolves. There were kids that were normal humans. Until puberty it is unknown if a child born to a werewolf will be one or not. The youngest wolf was my friend's nearly eleven-year-old sister. The fire was a month before her birthday. There were two kids under the age of seven that died."
Caitlin then turned and walked out of the room.
