Part 10

Beacon Hills

Derek watched from the shadows as Scott walked to his car with a couple bags of groceries. He waited until the younger boy put the bags in the car before he made his move. Scott moved out of the way before he could make contact. He heard a car alarm go off distracting him so he didn't hear Scott when he came from behind and slammed him into a car.

"Nice move. I see Caitlin started to train you before she left." Said Derek

"So the car alarm was good?"

"Yeah, it covered your moves. Caitlin was a fast learner."

"Her teachers were you mom and older sister. My mom when teaching was a tough task master. So I know Caitlin didn't go easy on you."

"She pelted me with lacrosse balls."

Derek let out a soft laugh.

"Glad you find it funny."

"If you had known Caitlin before she was bitten. Then you would too. I believe that gym was the only class she nearly failed in school. Though she did get better after the bite. She had to hold back so that no one would get suspicious that something had changed about her. I think she raised her grade from a solid D to a C. Which was not that big of a deal."

"Derek, why are you doing this? Helping me."

"Well Caitlin asked me. But the fact is the only one that is scarier than Caitlin after this Alpha is her twin sister."

"You are scared of Caitlin's sister? Is she a werewolf too?"

"No Crystal Snow is something but not a werewolf."

"What is she then?"

"Not sure but even if I did, I couldn't tell you. It is not my secret to tell."

Scott nodded and the two boys headed their separate ways. Neither noticed that they had been watched by an Alpha that was far from sane and was willing to do whatever he had to, in order to execute his plan for revenge on those that killed his family. Even if it had meant killing his own niece to become the Alpha he was always meant to be. The only thing that had concerned him was that Caitlin had figured out right away that it was him that had killed Laura. Maybe that so called seer had been right. That Caitlin Snow was destined to be something far greater than anyone had seen in decades. Peter Hale left and headed back to the long-term care wing of Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital.

Central City

Barry started to go after Caitlin. But Crystal stopped him.

"Leave her alone for a few minutes Barry." Said Crystal

"I love your sister and her being a werewolf doesn't change that." Said Barry

"Right now her anger is starting to spike. She left so she won't accidentally hurt any of us. Talking about the fire that killed the Hale family is hard for her. Laura was her best friend almost like a big sister. Barry when Caity realized that she was falling in love with you. She spent two hours on the phone talking to Laura. Laura was the one that told her that if she was sure that you were the one for her that she should tell you the truth about her. Cisco, she loves you like a brother. It hurts that you are scared of her."

"I am not scared." Said Cisco

"She can smell your fear. Your heart beat also betrays what you are feeling. Her senses are heightened. She hears, smells and sees better than any normal human. One of the benefits she got from becoming a werewolf is she no longer needs glasses or contacts to see."

"Uh is that why I have never been able to sneak up on her?" asked Cisco

"Yep."

"Great my best friend will always know when I am coming." Said Cisco

"She will also do whatever it takes to protect you." Said Crystal

"Crystal, I need to talk to Cait. I know she will never hurt me." Said Barry pushing gently pass to see his girlfriend.

"Caitlin won't hurt him, will she?" asked Cisco

"Caity, loves him. She never has hurt anyone that didn't deserve it. Cisco Caity is still the same person she has always been."

"Do I need to stock up on sliver weapons in case a rabid werewolf comes after me?"

"Sliver is a myth. Wolfs bane is a better choice. Or even high doses of tranquilizers. The myth of sliver comes from the French. One of the most well-known families of werewolf hunters is named Argent. The French word for sliver." Said Crystal

"Ok."

"Three things that can't be long hidden. The sun, the moon and the truth." Caitlin repeated over and over as she paced in her room.

Barry knocked softly on the open door. Caitlin turned to look at him.

"I knew you were there before you knocked." Said Caitlin

"Yeah, uh Crystal explained about the heightened senses thing. It's how you knew I was the Flash right?"

"Yes. Barry, I understand if you need time."

"Nothing has changed about how I feel about you. So once in a while you have fangs, claws and glowing eyes. I can run so fast no one can see me."

Caitlin smiled and walked over to him and kissed him. Barry pulled her tight. They broke apart after a couple of minutes.

"Cait, that thing you were saying. Why were you doing that?"

"It's a mantra. It is actually a Buddhist thing. I am not a Buddhist. This really old Alpha that was friends with my Alpha taught it to her. Talia gave it to me when hers didn't really work for me. I say it when I feel like I am going to lose control. It happens sometimes when I think about the fire. That is why I had to leave the room. I know that you might be able to heal if I got you with my claws. But I am not sure about Cisco. Crystal can. I scratched her when I was still learning control. Her meta-abilities include ice healing. One thing that sucks about my abilities is like you my dear speedster I can't get drunk."

"That is too bad. I am sure drunk Caitlin would be something to see."

"We will never know. Come on let's get back to the others. Crystal is going to give you and Cisco something that you can use to protect yourselves from super natural threats."

"Why can't you give it to us?"

"I can't handle it. I mean I while it is in a container I can. But you are going to need to see how mountain ash works. In fact the baseboards of this room are mountain ash wood. Actually go get Crystal and Cisco so we can show you."

Barry left and returned a minute later with the other two. Crystal carrying a jar with a black dust in it.

"Caity is going to stay in her room and the three of us are going to be out here. Now the thing about mountain ash is you got to believe it will protect you." Said Crystal

Barry and Cisco nodded and watched as Crystal dropped some of the dust in a line in the threshold of the door. Caitlin then walked up to it and placed her hands on what appeared to be an invisible force field.

"Now this works for many super natural beings. It won't work on banshees or hellhounds." said Caitlin

"What is a hellhound?" asked Cisco

"From what I understand hellhounds are sort of spirits. They possess someone that is close to dying. Thus saving their life. But the host is unaware of the hellhound sharing their body. They are guardians of the supernatural world. They are also said to be connected to the ghost riders and wild hunt. Don't ask I know very little about it. Now will someone please break the seal? I need to use the bathroom."

Crystal reached down and swiped some of the mountain ash away and Caitlin walked out heading right into the bathroom. The four of them then sat down to lunch and Caitlin answered more of the boys' questions.
