A police car drove down the road and past a tree, which Izuku was hiding behind. He turned away just as Izuka jumped down from the branches, watching the car leave. She gave a small sigh of relief as they weren't seen.
"Tell me I'm still unconscious!" The boy yelled at the two as he couldn't believe the news, and that no one would be coming to help them. "You're stone-cold murderers and they think I'm your accomplice?! I thought you two were supposed to be some kind of heroes! Explain yourselves!" He stormed up to the twins, gritting his teeth angrily.
"...I don't know how we ended up like this," Izuku's eyes softened as he looked towards the ground. "I can't wrap my head around all of it."
"This can't be," Izuka murmured sadly, getting her brother's attention. "Did we really...kill a dozen people back there?"
"No! Look-"
"Oh, great..." The parkour boy murmured, getting their attention. "It's all over..." He then stepped back in dismay, landing on his back. "End my life...I thought I was already living it rock bottom. Ohh, what happens if I fall even lower? Is it even possible?" He grunted as he sat up to glare towards the two. "This is all your fault! You two dragged me into this mess!" Pino appeared to chirp while flying. "So fix it! That's what heroes do, right?" Pino flew up to them angrily.
The two glanced at each other, sighing. "The police fired on us without asking any questions, and then we were attacked by a villain. That tells us that whoever's behind this doesn't care if we're dead or alive. I would suspect...they're not really after us."
"That's true," Izuka murmured in thought, rubbing her chin. "If they were really after us, they would've arrested us for information that we don't have. Not that we know what their motive is...but then why us?"
"Ah!" The boy then held up the case. "They must want this!"
However, opening it didn't give them any answers. "I don't get it," Izuku stated after they examined it. "There's nothing in here that looks incriminating, is there?" The parkour boy then quickly grabbed the stuff. "Ah, wait, what are you doing?!" They watched him close the case, and he stood up.
"I figure they're after this dumb case, right? That's perfect! We'll hand it over and this will all be put to bed. It's simple as that! Life will just go back to normal," He turned away nervously, not wanting them to catch on that he was supposed to have jewels inside of it.
"No way, it can't be that easy," Izuku pointed out, causing the boy to gasp. "If what's in here is important, then they probably wanna silence us even if we did turn it in to them." The parkour boy then let out a nervous sound.
"And just because we give it back doesn't mean the police won't shoot us, either," Izuka crossed her arms. "If they think you're our accomplice, they'll still be after you too, so we can't do that..." She sighed a little at their situation.
"Hey, don't say that!" The boy waved a rapid hand. "We're never gonna get anywhere if you're only thinking negatives thoughts, buddies! So new plan! Let's destroy the case! Then we can just say whoops, it burned up..."
"That's not gonna fix our problem," Izuku furrowed his eyebrows, earning a defeated sigh.
"You're really impulsive, huh?" Izuka gave him a deadpanned look. "If we destroy it, then we're not gonna get out of this alive or without the law getting involved, idiot!"
"New, new plan..." He murmured in dismay, hoping to get out of this as quickly as possible. Not just because of his home life, but because he wanted to get out of it still breathing. "What if we contact the police?"
"Ah!" Izuku blinked in bewilderment, Izuka falling backwards in disbelief. "And say what?"
"If you want the case...then give us a million eurus pronto!" He held the case over his head.
"That would make us real criminals!" Izuku protested as Izuka sat up.
"ARE YOU STUPID?!" She then tossed a Comet Burst towards his face and he yelped, ducking his head while hugging the case.
"Hey, if you want me to go back to asking you out, I can do that too!" He retorted while looking back up at her. She let out a growl as she lunged forward a bit, only to be held back by her brother. He stood between the both of them, now feeling like her when they fought over the case in the subway...
"We need to calm down!" He looked between the two of them. Izuka huffed while crossing her arms and turning around. The boy then fell to the ground in defeat.
"Are you sure we can't ditch it somewhere? Then they'll really kill us, right?" The two blinked from his question, Izuka looking over her shoulder. "You two are overthinking things."
"...If this case is related to some sort of crime, we can't give it to the bad guys," Izuku didn't want to risk giving them the case. "We might accidentally be helping out real villains."
"It'll be a long, cold day in hell before I start helping out villains out of my volition," Izuka's eyes saddened a little. "And we've been through too many villain attacks for us to just give up..."
"Don't get me involved with your hero sense of justice!" The boy protested at the two, gesturing to himself.
"I'm afraid we're all already in this together," Izuku spoke up a bit gravely, since...they couldn't go on their own now. And the boy gasped as he got himself involved too just for trying to drop off jewels...plus, he did grab the wrong case. "They wanted to kill us. If we don't know the reason why, then it's dangerous to act rationally. Otherwise, we'll end up full of arrows...or worse."
"Not to mention, we're dealing with some high-rank people. That villain who attacked us was serious," Izuka sighed, crossing her arms. "Trying to reason with them isn't going to get us anywhere, so we have to be careful."
"...Okay, then what do you suggest instead?" The boy pointed out in defeat, knowing that if they did anything with the case, they'd be dead...and he couldn't have that happen.
"...We run for it," Izuku looked up at the boy.
"Huh?" He looked very confused towards the two.
"He's right," Izuka gave a small nod. "We've already turned off our phones. It's best if we lay low like our friend said. I'm sure they'll figure things out on their end until it's time for us to go back to the public."
"No matter what the situation may be...we can't fight against the police." A retail shop owner looked up as the boy was holding several pieces of clothing, wearing sunglasses. "The people chasing us are Otheon officers. If we cross the border into the neighboring country of Klayd, then they shouldn't be able to follow us," And so, the boy met with the two outside. Luckily, because he wasn't on the news and not the twins, it was easier for him to get the clothes. The twins would've been instantly arrested if they went in...and they didn't have the local money anyway. The two ran out to meet with him, Izuku holding the case. After they changed clothes, they walked down the street wearing casual clothing. Izuka was wearing a light purple mini-dress with white lining and sleeves, denim knee-length pants, and purple sneakers. Her hair was in a low bun as she had on a big hat shaped like a star. "Let's hurry and get out of here before we end up tracked." A police car drove right past them. The boy behind the twins had the case in a bag.
"What about the arrow person? The border's not gonna stop a villain," The boy pointed out, causing the two to turn around.
"If that happens, then we promise we'll protect you from them," Izuku declared to him as they watched him step down with the case.
"Mmhm," Izuka nodded sharply, narrowing her eyes. "We'll keep you safe. I'll admit that she's very skilled, so I don't feel like my own arrows could stop her..."
"Huh?" The boy looked at them wide-eyed, wondering why they were helping him. Even Izuka herself wasn't fond of the flirting, yet she was dropping everything to protect him.
"I think getting out of here is our best course of action," Izuku explained to the boy.
"Mm," He gave them a skeptical look. "Okay, fine, I guess that plan makes as much sense as anything. I'll go to Klayd or wherever you think is best," He remarked a bit sarcastically, still wanting to do his plan a little bit.
Izuka led the way, her brother staring after her. "Are you okay?" He asked the girl, who came to a stop.
"...Not really," She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "Hearing that we're wanted for mass murder wasn't great, and I know that Katsuki is really mad at me...n-not that it's relevant!" She darted her eyes around, blushing as thankfully they didn't see.
"Mm..." Izuku gave her a saddened expression, knowing that they didn't do it. And he really hoped that she didn't believe Katsuki thought she was guilty. "Hey." He walked up and she glanced towards him. "I know you're a great hero. So don't worry, okay? We'll figure this out together."
"Thanks," She gave him a small smile in return.
And so, the three continued walking down the street together to try and find transportation. Soon, they came across a bus that was about to leave. "Right. That bus crosses the border," The boy looked around the corner with a sly expression. "And it'll be free if we hop on top."
"Absolutely not!" Izuku moved down his head as he was not about to hitch a free bus ride. "We have to pay if we ride!"
"You are not gonna take away that bus driver's pay by hitching a ride!" Izuka pouted towards the boy. "People who transport others don't get enough money as it is!"
"We're wanted bad guys, remember?" He retorted back to them. "It'll be over if somebody recognizes us," He then took off without their input. As the bus took off, he jumped onto the roof with ease.
"Is he serious?!" Izuka hissed a little at him.
"Oh, man!" Izuku grabbed his sister, putting her on his back. He ran after the bus using his speed, jumping up high and landing on the roof.
"See? Freebie's not so bad." They both looked up at him with a glare. "The delinquent life grows on you, you'll see, hero and sweetheart."
"I don't think so on either front," Izuka deadpanned towards the boy with a blank look.
She held her brother by the legs as he leaned towards the window, holding three coins. Delaware Smash...Air Force! Thankfully, most people were asleep as he flicked the coins inside. Either that, or they weren't paying attention as the coins fell into the slot, officially giving them their seats. He then held up three fingers to the boy once Izuka helped him back up. "I just paid for three seats!"
The boy looked a bit weirded out. "And yet I get the feeling we're staying on the roof..."
"Well...yeah," Izuku informed a bit awkwardly.
"That's just part of the delinquent life as you would put it," Izuka retorted back with a playful grin.
The boy opened his mouth to argue, but he realized that she had a point. So he had no argument against it as he clamped his mouth shut. "...You know what, I'll give you that one...sweetheart."
"And stop calling me that!" She yelled with an angry face towards him, but he just gave a sly smile in return. Izuku gave them a blank look, hoping that would die out. Because if not, he was definitely not going to utter a word of it to Katsuki...
